Hi,
Can you please test and see if the phone is hardware limited to record the voice of the other person on a call like many other HTC PPC phones.
Software like:
VITO AudioNotes v1.3
Resco Audio Recorder 4 betas
LivePvr
PM Recorder
or even with the build-in Windows Notes.

but does it record the call partner voice too?
I know it was possible to record the whole conversation only on smarphone because of an hardware limitation in pocket pc instead smartphone.
Thats also very important for my decision whether to buy the Kaiser or not!
Anybody - please check and post... (would be perfect if somebody could make and record a short test call and attach it here )
Thanks a lot!

yes, vito audio notes records the other person's voice too. you can just record whenever, or have it automaticly record when u make or recieve a call. it has different settings of sound quality too.

I know they say that it works, but actually it doesn't for all newer HTC Pocket PCs - that's why we are asking. Anybody here who really tried it and can attach a test call (without loudspeakers turned on!)?

well, you can see if you do some research - it's a hardware limitation as the phone audio system is not fully integrated into the Windows Mobile audio system...
This is also a feature i would like to see!
There is talk about utilising the Bluetooth Stack to record the call (both ends) but i dont know how far along it is.
Its really frustrating that the PPC phone edition isnt smarter than the 'Smartphones' that can record both ends!
Perhaps we should actually look at this a little differently.
The PPC recorders all seem to record via the mic, but how about a recorder that can record only the audio sent to the speaker! (Thus recording the other person!)

The PPC recorders record via the mic because recording the audio sent to the speaker doesnt work, that is the limitation everybody is talking about. This audio routing is handled in hardware itself and software is not able to tap it in between...

Hi Shantzg001,
I realise they dont record both, but i am suggesting that it would be great to find something that can only record the speaker, not the mic. Just as if you wanted to record streaming music. (that doesnt record from the mic).
I havent found anything yet that can do this but it could just be the search terms im using.
I can confirm that unless you use the speakerphone that Vito Audio Notes, as was supsected, records only the microphone (your own voice, not the other party of the call)of the phone conversation. Also the "auto record" for phone calls does not work when activated either.
Try Resco Audio Recorder, it has trial version for sure.
Some people said it works.
I tried it - you don't hear the other side of the call on the recording unless you use the speaker.
Damn
I really missed this feature (phone recording).
I hope there is a registry setting "EnablePhoneRecording" or something like that.
Do you think this is hardware limitation? Or application issue? or OS? ... hard to guess.

So guys, move on ....
Hi
Have been using Resco Audio recorder and Vito Audio Notes to record phone conversation but in both the softwares i could only here my voice clearly and the other persons voice is not audible at all. I have faced this problem on ALL HTC DEVICES but the same software worked amazing on XDA Xing and ATOM. cam someone help me here as to what settings to change or what software to use for proper recording.
Thanks
all of these programs will record if the phone is on speaker.
read the documentations, as some phone do not provide duplex conversations, or something like that.
once you set the call on speaker, all works fine, but it's kind of inconvenient.
yea if i remember correctly, it has something to do with the way that the voice calling was implemented in the device that it will only record your voice.
straight from resco.net from the audio recorder page:
(Both sides recording is hardware dependent. If your recording contains voice of one side only, it is not due to the program's failure.)
On my old PPC6700 mine worked fine with the call volume all the way high, The other person sounded a bit low, but if you want you can edit the call on a PC and make them louder. It all depends how often do you plan to record your convos.
I'm recording both sides without speaker or any other hazzle...
This is what I've done:

Do you really intend to unbury every 1+ year old topic on that subject? I think people got it by now. Make ONE thread with full relevant info, that will do it.
Hi all,
First of all, excuse me in advance if this matter has been discussed anywhere else in this forum but a quick resort to the search function didn't give me any relevant result.
I noticed that my phone has problems capturing sound with its microphone: I have no problems using it for normal voice calls - I mean when I keep it next to the hear with my hand - but people start complaining the exact moment I switch to speaker call: voice feedback and low volume are the most reported problems by the other end. I believe this problem share the same nature with the low sound in video recording, as all my clips show non-intelligible voices or sounds in general.
Now, I wonder: is my device defective or maybe I'm facing a software problem? I'm using CM7 (temasek Kang build 22) with 218 BB and RIL and I sincerely forgot what video recording was like when I was on stock. I'm pretty sure speaker calls have always been difficult, though.
Thank you and happy new year!
I have the same, when I switch to speaker, the other side has trouble with quality of the call, they dont hear me very good. With older phones I didnt face this problem. I have 725BB and RIL (20l)
guys.. download and install GetRIL from the market and get a matching RIL
i am on CM7 temasek build 23 on 725BB and until i got 725 V10d RIL (i had a non-matching RIL coming from stock 2.3.4) my 2x would go into airplane mode randomly and I couldn't get out of it unless i rebooted.. be that as it may i didn't thoroughly test the video and call quality back then
however now with the matching RIL, speakerphone and video audio is fine
Months ago I kind of gave up on this one...
Let's say you record a video of your mate talking 2 meters away, can you hear him well on the video? I can't even if I have otherwise a well working 420 bb/ril combination with temasek's CM7.
One way to solve this would be a mic gain option (like in ASR voice recorder) in the camcorder but haven't found any apps supporting it.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
hi all,
Which rom support two way call recording (recording call conversation through phone line..it will be clear)?
I come across in some other therads, this two way call recording is based on the kernel...
CM kernel is having the fecilty?
or which rom will support 2-way call recording?
Or what can I do for getting a working call recorder? (I have tested many apps..but nothing works perfectly..they just record through mic which ic noicy)
Can any expert clarify
?
Again..
Are any developers (huexxx, marvel, redy...)trying to find out the solution for getting call recording facility through phone line (two way recording patch in kernel)?
If not, I wonder why no one is not interested for such kind of call recording function in their rom . It is not illegal (except very few countries) and call recording function is very normal and must have application even a very low budget phone support call recording clearly!!!
Dear developers!!
Please try to solve this and update your roms..
I'd like to ask that too...
Is there 2 way call recording on the optimus?
nobody?
Hi everyone,
My HTC One has just developed a problem after several months of use where the person on the other end of the call can`t hear my voice.
When I make phone calls and I enable the speakerphone function people can hear me.
When using the voice recording app, the recording and playback from the bottom mic is working perfectly, but in calls it dont work.
i try a lot custom roms and all the time the same problem now i m on stock rom.
Any suggestions?
Having the same issue , anyone have a solution ?
Bob
I've the same problem, but for you, You slould try the "no sound during call" patch develloped by Venom Team ==> http://venomroms.com/venomhub-fix-no-sound-calls-htc-one-m7/
I'm under 5.0.2 under Viper 9.0.0 and getting this problem. Should I flash this patch too ? Or it has been integrated in lollipop custom ROM ?
