I've got myself into a pretty annoying situation with my SM-T713 Tab
After my tab updated to 7.0 nougat, My wifi button just stopped working. The toggle switch just wouldnt stay on at all and I was not able to connect to wifi networks. I searched around and I saw some people having this same issue and just factory resetting the tablet in order fix it. So naturally, I reset my tab. This did not fix my WiFi issue at all, and now I am stuck at the tablet initialization behind FRP and I can't connect to WiFi to verify my account. My tablet is totally unusable.
What is my next course of action here?
I have tried using the Samsung Smart Switch PC app to reset the tablet to stock.
I have tried (and failed) to load another stock rom with Odin (FAILED! in odin).
I can't OTG bypass FRP because all the guides I tried used 6.0.1 and required wifi
I can't sidesync bybass FRP again because it requires wifi.
I can't just put in my account information because I need wifi
I can't fix my wifi because I'm stuck trying to bypass FRP.
I have no idea on how I could install TWRP without the proper settings enabled/disabled because I'm stuck in initial tablet welcome screen.
I am at a total loss, and even the samsung service center here in Korea wouldn't fix my tablet because it was purchased in the states (super frustrating).
I tried flashing a couple more Stock roms (XAR) on Odin and they all FAIL!
Every time they fail, I have to use smart switch to recover the tablet and it always restores it back to the way it was. Including the WiFi toggle automatically turning itself off.
If there is a hardware issue with the wifi inside the tablet, would the softare autmatically turn the toggle off? Am I spinning my tires here?

Does smartswitch restore the firmware correctly?
It is absolutely essential either with ODIN or Smartswitch that after the firmware installs, it boots to recovery to complete the upgrade.
If this does not happen then you will have issues and one of them is WIFI being unable to be toggled on.
If you can't get this to work on Nougat then I suggest you downgrade to Marshmallow first. The same thing applies regarding the upgrade to Nougat.

So I just successfully downgraded to 6.0.1. I waited for the boot to recovery and the wifi button still doesn't stay activated when I turn it on.
I also followed the smartswitch instructions to the t multiple times and never interrupted the process. I'm hoping I did it right.

When it boots to recovery do you get the erasing and updating messages?

Yes I did
How did you downgraded to Marshmallow? I had been having issues with it for days.
I am having the exact same problem with my SM-T813, the wifi toggle switch will not turn on after it asks to connect to wifi to verify my identity. I have tried various firmwares to no avail.
Has anybody come up with a solution? Any input would be appreciated

Has anyone been successful enabling encryption on 5.0/OC1? I've tried twice and the routine keeps failing. When it fails, the OS forces a factory reset. At this point, I want to make sure this works before attempting it again. (This is on an AT&T GN3.)
I run rooted OC1 via the Easier/Alternative method. I've run Lollipop for over a week with no problems. For the first encryption attempt, I originally left the phone alone for 2 hours. There was a black screen, the menu and back buttons were lit, and the color LED was blue and pulsing over 5 seconds. I forced a reboot via holding in the power button. After reboot, Lollipop reported that the encryption attempt failed and forced a factory reset. Yay me.
On the second attempt, I let the encryption routing run for 17 hours. Same result.
Has anyone been successful with encrypting their phone on 5.0 (OC1) yet?

Hi, after one hard reset (to hopefully prevent the performance lag and other issues others have posted about after stock updating to OC1--with no root, no safestrap) the encryption ran without a hitch. I setup my work email account with no problems afterwards. Hope this helps.

Encryption doesn't work with SS.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Oh well. I'd like to keep root and encrypt... I'll explore a bit before removing root.

I used SS (on JB) to get to OC1. Once OC1 loaded, I thought that I lost SS. I also assume that after doing an OC1 factory reset (or two), SS would definitely be gone, right? Unless, you're saying that parts of the SS loader are still there and would prevent the encryption engine from loading at startup... That might make sense.

well if you formatted user data and everything is clean you can go ahead and install a custom rom or flash a stock rooted rom that is provided in the dev section and the wifi issue should fix itself.

I would suggest the following:
1. Read up on fastboot. This will allow you to recover from most things with this phone.
2. Use fastboot to flash a custom recovery.
3. Use the custom recovery to flash a custom rom.
If this doesn't work... Download the nexus 6 factory images (google will help with this). Then just reflash stock and see if it works.
There's literally 0 reason to root stock before flashing custom roms on this phone.
Also, make sure that you unlock your bootloader.

You could start it in bootloader mode and restore factory.
You could also try another wifi connection (go somewhere else).

As someone mentioned. You need to read up on fastboot.
You softbricked your phone it seems.
Gonna need a PC/Mac/Linux to fastboot it and fix it.

If you did a factory reset, all your personal data was lost, but the stock ROM should still be present. Your phone isn't damaged based upon your posts, but you do need to do some reading and understand what it is you are doing before you do damage your Nexus. Start at the Nexus 6 Sticky Roll Thread and read the tutorial on ADB and Fastboot. Then read the Nexus 6 All-In-One Beginner's Guide.
To resolve the "Checking Connection" issue you're currently having, take out your SIM card and try pressing "Skip" at the WiFi connection screen. If successful, you won't have any connectivity but will have fully booted into Android. From there you can access Developer Options, and enable OEM Unlock. Actually unlocking the bootloader requires a computer, and until the bootloader is unlocked, you won't be able to flash anything to the device. So, start reading.

I don't think that would work.
After factory reset, he'd need to log in to his original account. So needs wifi or internet connection for that (or another phone which can share the same account credentials via nfc). Failing that, as others mentioned flash a useable system to get working wifi.
Shoot, I keep forgetting about factory reset protection. Likely because I have Enable OEM Unlock active.
Its nice to be back posting again. Anyway i do have a problem. I recently purchased tab s2 t713. I found out that the stockrom was based in china. So i download a stock rom based in UK (BTU)
Now im flashing the stock rom to my brandnew t713 then after a while it says fail due to the FRP lock. So i soft bricked my device. I google everything about FRP lock but on how to turn it off. But my next step actually requires to use the tab and remove my google account. Now i cant use my tab. Tried installing smart switch but its not supported.
What else can i do to turn it off? So i can install fresh stock rom.
Can someone help me?
I did the same thing. Finally fixed after trying a lot of things but alas I didn't take notes. What I *think* worked was to reboot into recovery:
- hold power/vol-down/home until screen shuts off then slide my finger over to vol-up (while still pressing power & home) until it reboots.
Once in recovery I restored the original ROM, turned OEM Unlock on and was able to use Odin to put the new ROM in successfully.
Tried that already but no to avail. The recovery mode somewhat missing.
Nevermind. I returned it to the store. Maybe it was a sign to wait for Tab S2? Lol.
Dear all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 WIFI purchased last year (exactly to the day) in Cali. I believe it came with 5.1.1 XAR version.
A month later, my troubles began. I flashed with 6.0 Samsung WIFI ROM from some other country and the tab soon started to randomly turn off while being used. I am not sure if this is coincidental or not. When restarted, it would sometime fully boot, only to turn off while doing any mundane task surfing etc. and at other times, start and turn off as soon as the SAMSUNG logo comes. Weirdly, when I wait a day or two, it would start fully and work for a few minutes to half an hour
When I put it to charge, only rarely does the green battery logo came up, but most frequently I got a flashing thunderbolt sign.
I sent it to Samsung and it came back apparently with the correct firmware installed and the repair note said, faulty data cable replaced. But in a week of usage, the same problems started. I don't live in the US currently and so I don't have local warranty and don't have any means to send it back to Samsung USA. I've tried all remedies I could find, charging it to 100%, holding volume down and power for 15-30 seconds to simulate a battery reset, etc. to no avail. These days. it wouldn't even stay on long enough to access recovery mode, before turning off.
Yesterday, I installed Nougat 7.0 ROM from XAR on it and tried to start it. same problem. It says updating applications xx out of 26, and then turn off. When I try to access recovery, I got the android logo and when it gets to "Erasing", it would turn off. Then now that the warranty has expired, I installed TWRP (twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t710_13317.tar) and this time I somehow goto to TWRP recovery mode, I just left it on there to see how long it would last, instead of immediately erasing the caches and restarting.
After that once, I couldn't get it to stay on long enough to access recovery. So I tried to go back to OEM ROM using Smart Switch, but to no avail once again. The Download mode still says Custom even after Smart Switch emergency recovery
I have tried flashing various other things (5.1.1 Samsung ROM, 6.0 ROM from UK with AP, BL and CSC files, TWRP 5.1.1 permissive ROM, TWRP), in various jumbled orde,r out of frustration. Nothing worked. here's a list of ROMs I've tried:
T710XXU2DQCL_T710UVS2DQC1_EON
SM-T710_1_20170406180713_vd28gnex7t_fac
SM-T710_1_20170330211239_qkurg70e9y
5.1.1_T710XXU1BOH7_T710XAR1BOH7_XAR
twrp_2.8.7.1_LL_5.1.1_t710
twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t710_13317
t710_5.1.1_boot
Right now, the only thing I can access is Download mode and it says Current Binary: Custom, System Status: Custom, AP SWREV B:2 K:0 S:0 and worse than before, the tab turns off at the Powered by Android logo and when I plug it in, it doesn't charge but I get this boot loop (with the just the powered by android screen flashing)
would it help to re-partition and nand erase all and install a fresh ROM with a PIT file, if so can someone please share me their PIT file for this model??
I am out of ideas, and ready to break this expensive brick
appreciate any help,
thanks

Well i hve the same problem like you.. idk wht should i do with this condition.. bootloop.. always restart until logo.. :crying:
Please anyone help to solve our problem..
Your issue seems related to power. It seems your device doesn't charge correctly and is turning off due to running out of battery.
What does TWRP report as the charge state?
Do you get the same issue when the device is plugged in to the mains?

hi ashyx, I am pretty sure that battery isn't the issue here. even though the grey battery logo with a thunderbolt flashes while turned off and plugged in for charging, after a while it does charge anyhow. I can get it to 100%. Plugging in makes no difference.
I am thinking it could be a power button problem or a faulty usb port perhaps, if it is indeed a hardware fault?

Did you ever resolved this issue? Curious if you have a solution.
Hello -
I've been a long time reader/lurker and have been able to resolve most issues reading and searching.
I have a G925A S6 Edge variant. It came to me with a blue screen stating "System Software Not Authorized by AT&T". I have downloaded various ODIN images and applied and I get the same results no matter what.
The phone requires resetting a few times to boot. When it finally boots, I receive several app crash errors. I have tried to install TWRP and it fails and gives a secure error in download mode.
I know the phone isnt unlocked and I cannot fine the OEM unlock setting anywhere in settings which is probably causing the issue.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks

You not reading enough. Phone have lock bootloader and you can't unlock at all as of now. This mean you can't use any other recovery then stock.

Thanks.
I was asking about TWRP only because I cant get the phone to behave properly. No matter what version I use, I get constant force closes on tons of apps...
Ive tried all the below versions:
G925AUCS5DPJ1
G925AUCS6DQC1
G925AUCS6EQE1
G925AUCU1AOCE
G925AUCU6EQCF
Im currently on the Nougat version G925AUCS6EQE1.
After I flashed each version in ODIN, I had to force reboot a few times to get past dm-verify and "No command" errors. Eventually, I got it to boot. From then on out it boots properly.
One other oddity, is under "Service", it says KT twophone service" - in settings.
I have no idea what the previous owner did to get it locked up on the "System software not authorized" message, but the phone would do nothing until I ran ODIN.

No command it is normal. Just wait for phone to start. Then go to recovery and do factory reset.
BTW. Are you sure it is G925A model, just asking to be sure.

Yes - SM-G925A printed on back and shows on download mode screen.

Great. Try ODIN again and flash E1. This time when you see "No command " just wait and let boot all the way. Then restart in recovery and factory reset. Reboot and let us know what you got.
