My headphone jack on my captivate has teeth! Idk what to do about it, its really strange. It scratches all my headphone tips and i think theres some sharp connectors that are sticking out into the hold of the headphone jack. Anyone had the same problem or is this 4th captivate another defective one? haha would repeatedly shoving headphone connectors into and out of the headset jack dull the sharp ends? Thanks!
Hmmm I guess I'm the only one?
Nah man, nothing like that. But holy cow u say 4th cappy allready. What on earth r u doing Bad luck my friend, maybe the 5th will be the one.
Yeah dude its real bad I dont break them I just have various problems! Like the speakers would break twice so I had to like push on it to make it work. Then last one I hard bricked and w.e they gave me a new one. Lol Thats my luck with these things. Now the headset jack loves to tear up my headsets. Idk if it affects it as long as the black rings arent getting damaged. Actually does anyone know if my headset will have problems if the gold part of the jack getr scratched? Thanks!
I had my last one do that. I got it replaced because the soft keys on the bottom went crazy all the time.
My 3,5mm jack doesnt make good contact with the mainboard (I get muffled sound when playing songs when not touching my Jack, When i push it a little bit to the front i get great sound) so what to do about it?
Can anybody help me?

Search YouTube for the teardown video. Make sure the board is connected properly. Maybe buy a new headphone connector and install it?
Im curious to do something wrong at my mainboard...

So my nexus 6 has always had an issue with the headphone jack. The audio has a constant static in the background and at low levels it severely distorts sound. Especially videos. I looked in my headphone Jack and noticed that at the bottom there is a little black spot that is very out of place. Also one side has a small out of place line that reminds me of rust/curosion or something. What should I do!? Its driving me and my anime and music crazy!
Please help!
THANKS!
Warranty?

Had s similar issue with my audio jack. It's pretty easy to replace yourself if you've had a phone apart before.

I am unsure about warranty.
What type of compressed air.
I'm not risking my phone. I can't afford a new one.
keyboard cleaner canned air is probably your safest bet
We used to spray liquid Freon in to clean electronics, but that is discouraged nowadays.

I tried cleaning with alchohol but that didn't help. And also it really really screws up music when the bass is turned up in music apps. I have a 3 ring no microphone pare of headphones. Does that make s difference? My iPod jack is much more dirty and no audio distortion. My amazon 30 day return is up so I guess Motorola is my only return option. If they don't know I unlocked rooted and booted blisspop with my phone.
Pocket lint? I had some in my Note 3 and a needle and a flashlight does magic.
Hi,
My microphone hole is full of dirt. How to clean it? I'm afraid to use sharp object, to not damage microphone.

How far you can go with toothpick I'm afraid to puncture the microphone.

It's usually å steel filter in the mic, but I'm not sure. Be careful.
In jack it's no problem..
