SIM lock help please - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Would appreciate any help please.
I have a Sony xperia z3 compact and want to sim unlock it.
I tried unlocking codes and they have all failed.
Unfortunately now it is hard locked.
I have checked this by entering the following:
checked that by *#*#7378423#*#* where i found this:
[x] Network 0
[ ] Network subset 0
[ ] Service provider 0
[ ] Corporate 0
[ ] SIM 0
I have contacted Sony and they said the counter can be reset by sending it to a repair centre.
Is there any way to reset the counter any other way without sending the handset away?
Would appreciate any advice please.
Kind regards.

Your only option is to buy a second hand Z3 Compact with broken screen and take motherboard from it and replace it. Its worth buying broken Z3 compact because when ever you are going to need parts you have them from z3c with broken screen.
I had that issue on my Z3 D6603 and fixed it by it self, I was tinkering around antenna cables too

Not sure if you're trying to save data, but did you already try hard reset? Also, it seems like someone here - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gdHJI28yDlA - has the same issue, but if you watch to the end of the video, the next video says something about an online reset tool. Might be worth a shot...

They gave you the answer.
When it comes to counter issues, it is best to go with the Sony repair.

[Q] Quick bit of help - SimLock

Hi all,
Stuck in work at the moment and struggling for time, got the chance of buying an SP but suspect its locked to Orange UK (I'm on Vodafone).
Other than paying for the Network lock to be removed can i unlock it easy enough?
Would flashing it remove the network lock? Presume it would but would like to grab the offer while its there.
Any help much appreciated and apologies for not having the time to check into this myself!
No. Nothing that I know of.

Thanks mate, that seems to be what i've found too. I got a little bit extra off the price of the phone and am now looking for a cheap and reputable place to get an unlock code.
If it helps anyone buying an Xperia SP i've also discovered this evening;
You can see if the phone is locked by following these steps;
1. Turn on the phone without the SIM card in
2. Type *#*#7378423#*#*
3. Select 'Service info'
4. Select 'SimLock'
5. Check what services have an 'X' next to them / in the box
6. If X is shown next to "NETWORK" the phone is locked to your network.
7. If the value next to "NETWORK" is greater than 0, the phone can be unlocked (this is the number of attempts remaining).
Check if the bootloader be unlocked;
1. In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
2. In your device, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Check Bootloader unlock allowed - it should say Yes or No.
Final FYI for this one in case anyone finds it useful; i got the SIM lock removed via cellunlocker .net
Took 4 business days (less than the stated average).

If I remember rightly it is because unlock codes come direct from sony and to use them you have to connect to sony servers which they charge hence unlock codes cost.
On my old arc you could use test point method which was under sim card for unlocking but with Sp you can not access anything when you take the back off so codes is the only way.

Xperia SP locked network, 0 attempts
Hi Guys,
Long time lurker here, appreciate the work. I can usually find an answer in the comments so never made an account.
But I am now stumped with a problem. I have an Xperia Sp that has 0 attempts left.
I followed all the steps:
Check if the bootloader be unlocked;
1. In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
2. In your device, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Check Bootloader unlock allowed - it should say Yes or No.
And the response was 0. Does anyone have an idea if it is possible to unlock a phones with 0 attempts left and how?!
Looking forward to your reply guys, thanks in advance.
Regards,
I have a question... I know my SP is locked. But how do I know which network it's locked to? I can't go and buy every single sim card and test them.

[Q] Xperia Z, sim locked, 244 version

Hi guys! I just bought a used xperia z and it is updated to 244 version. I want to get rid of the carrier lock because I have no idea what carrier it is, and when putting my sim in the phone it just tells me "emergency calls only".
So, I have read about rooting and unlocking bootloader etc. What I have not figured out is witch of these actually unlocks the sim
I have no warranty so I don't care at all about that. Is it a good idea to root and unlock?
The problem is that when entering service menu and looking at SIM lock its like this:
[] Network 0
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Am i screwed or is it possible anyway?
I also got stuck at flashtool because my windows8 64bit has issues with usb drivers. I think I need a windows7 32 system to do it right?
PS. I can also buy the unlock code but if I read correctly because it now says 0 tries left that is no longer an option!?
My handset is SIM unlocked and the SIM lock section looks exactly like yours.
Perhaps try another SIM in the phone.
FYI, neither rooting or unlocking the bootloader affect the status of the SIM lock in any way.

I have tried 2 different SIM cards from different carriers. So what is the suggestion to do now? If neither rooting or unlocking bootloader will do the magic?
Hm, the guys over at htccode say they can unlock for 50dollars even though it says 0 tries left. Does it sound legit?

i believe that your phone is network blocked.
that phone will never get network whatever simcard you use. it will only work if the imei is changed(its impossible), or use the phone in another country(it will not be network blocked in that country).
edit: and probably the phone is allready sim unlocked!
Yeah that is what I believe to. Seems it is stolen so its blocked. Trying to get money back from the guy, otherwise I will sell it to someone outside sweden Thanks

Xperia T is Hard Locked

Hey everyone.
I am having a real problem with my Sony Xperia T. I have searched forums and google to find a solution and nothing. Also this website is probably best when it comes to sorting out android problems. My Sony Xperia T (I think) is now hard locked. O2 (UK) sent me an unlock code which did not work and now I get the following within the service info > sim lock:
[X] network 0
[] network subnet 0
[] Service Provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
I think this status means its still locked and I cant use an unlock code anymore.
Also I can't unlock the bootloader because I get the following:
Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock allowed = No
If anyone could help I'd appreciate it even if someone can point me in the right direction
Thanks again,
Regards David
Normally the phone gives you 10 attempts. Did you use all 10? Looks like you may be stuck.
Also, not surprised about the Bootloader unlock allowed = no. A lot of our phones (that came from a carrier) have this status and there is currently no way to make the bootloader unlockable.
It first came up as only 5 attempts and trusting the code I've used them all up.
Yeah I agree a lot of Sony Xperia's have the bootloader set to 'no' currently haven't a clue what to do

I wonder....if the 5 attempts were used by you on that code they provided (and it is certain that you were typing the code correctly), could the carrier be persuaded to replace or repair the unit for you?

That's the next step.
I'm hoping they replace the handset or at least fix it and I'm 100% i typed the right code in. I will keep this thread updated because I've seen a lot of Xperia's being hard locked and no solution!

Network unlock attempts 0

I have sony experia z with network unlock attempts left 0, is there any solution to reset counter or anything else? Kindly let me know if anyone got any solution.
Best regards
Hey, as far as I know you've hardlocked your network. That means you can't reset counter and you don't have any other tries left. I haven't found anything to make it work anyway myself, so I'm just telling you what I do know at the moment.
Maybe ring the network for the PUK code to reset
