Hi all. I have Honor 3c international version with official Kit-Kat rom. I factory reset it using TWRP v 2.8.6.0 and after rebooting, phone showed my huawei logo and then after some time the screen went black. Almost 10 minutes later a white box appeared showing that it is upgrading and the files are being optimized but the phone got stuck on "Finishing Boot". Then the screen went black again. Phone didn't vibrate or reboot during all this. Its been happening since yesterday and i can't get past this black screen. Help please.
Flash stock rom via spft
Hi!
After receiving my OP 3T, I unlocked it and went to a Nougat firmware and rom. Failing to get VoLTE, VoWifi and SMSC settings on that rom, I tried further roms, one with the recommendation to do a full wipe. At the very end, I downgraded to OOS 3.5.4, but forgot to deactivate the password before starting the OS. That forced me to format userdata via TWRP and that way decrypt the phone the hard way.
With OOS 3.5.4, VoLTE, VoWifi and SMSC settings did work again fine and I would stay with that OS.
So I tried to reencrypt the rooted phone.
Starting that process from settings, the 3T bootet and stucked in the OS splash animation screen (the two white bubbles circling around the red bubble). After 1+ hour I bootet the phone which suceeded. Obviously nothing was happened, the phone remained unencrypted.
Does anyone has a hint how I can get the phone reencrypted?

I recently did this with the most recent version of twrp, the official one from the twrp website, however a quick fix i believe is to flash stock recovery, reboot, encrypt and then flash twrp. Both methods worked for me

Hi!
Thanks for your reply.
With both latest TWRP 3.1.0-1 and the official recovery, I see the green android robot and then the phone shows the screen with the two white rotating bubbles around the red bubble... but no progress indicator or anything else.
Booting the phone out of that screen shows that nothing happened....

Hmm I'm not sure then. I'm using the latest FreedomOS so it could have something go do with that. Also rooted with magisk but no other system mods
I think I found the reason...
After I unrooted the phone, it did not stuck in the boot animation (or for whatever that animation was used, it is the same as when booting but the phone did not boot) but continued into the encrytpion progress screen.
I remember having had such an effect with a Samsung some time ago where encryption also failed as long as a process was running related to a rooted phone.
So I tried updating my M7 to TWRP 3.2.1-0 by flashing the img file using a slightly older version of TWRP
After installing, wiping cache & rebooting, my phone only gets to the HTC logo, with "Entering Recovery..." message at the top. It doesn't get any further than that. Even more annoying, my ADB has stopped detecting my phone so I can't flash anything else right now
Any help or advice?
Okay after leaving it alone for a while it's suddenly started to work perfectly and boot as normal again...!
Uhhh, I guess mods are free to delete/lock this thread?
I first installed havoc and it got stuck in the loading animation for like 30 mins. i thought it was some issue with the installation. I reflashed it again the same thing. And now i flashed PE and the same thing happens. I am stuck at the google logo screen loading forever
And i tried to go back to stock following a guide but fastboot oem edl fails with a locked message
I was rooted and installed a Magisk module that ended up giving me a boot loop so i had to factory reset now when i get in the setup wizard after the update screen my screen just turns black and i cannot progress. I tried re flashing boot.img and my WW rom but doing so did nothing I still get the black screen I assume its a google authentication saying my phone is locked? Does anyone know how to fix this?
EDIT: it's 100% google during the setupt that is causing my problem because when i take a screenshot and hit upload to drive it gives me a black screen when logging in.. phone still locked.
EDIT: I went into fastboot and used an older boot.img which got my Google apps working again then flashed the root boot.img now I'm back up and running.
