Does anyone know, why is network neighborhood removed from Files app. It was an option to browse files on PC connected on same router as phone. It is removed with last update on P10, P10 lite and P9 lite. Files app itself has different version number. P10 is 10.x.x.x, P9 is 7.x.x.x and so on.

Hello.
Is there any way to change wifi device name?
I see that Bluetooth and device name (settings - about - device name) can be changed, but when I saw devices in my wifi router table it shows "huawei p9", instead of other changed names.
Can that be changed?
P9, rooted, android 7 nougat.
Settings, More, Tethering..., Portable..., Configure WiFi hotspot, Network Name
I change it and see it properly under the new name on anther device
It has nothing with rooted or not
Maybe your router caches old Access Point Names
Yep, there it is also changed (to netaccs).
I have access to p10 and another p9, no root, clean devices, also showing as huawei p9/p10
Anyone?

what wifi router table? can you explain more?
In the wifi routers there are tables which shows connected devices - ip, mac addresses, traffic and device name.
Other wifi management systems also show device name.
Hello,
I really need help. I have Huawei Ascend P7 and it is amazing phone but the last week I am not able to connect to wifi. It looks like I am connected but if I try to find webpage or download anything from Google Play, the phone write me that I have no connection. Wifi is connecting and disconnecting again and again. I have right passwords and any other devices work without any problems (computers, notepad and other phones). The same problem is with different wifi (at home, at school...)
I will be greatful for any help.

i have flashed a gsi rom to see if it fixes the problem, but no avail. only good thing is i now have stock android
Is it possible your home router IP pool is very small (DHCP if you are more technical)? Can you check your router configuration?

You can try to restore the network settings on your mobile phone or reset the router.
Everytime my hotspot is active, I can't use data on my device. Tethering works fine on the laptop, but my smartphone could not use data while the tethering is on (which obviously means no WhatsApp, no Chrome etc).
The phone is a Huawei P9 Lite (Vodafone) running Android 7.0. Checked for updates both on the phone itself and Huawei Suite on PC while connected via USB.
The issue occurs during Wifi Tethering and USB Tethering.
I've seen a few articles speaking of editing APN on the phone but it looks like I can't do anything except creating a new one (I can't delete an APN for example, like they mentioned in the article).
I also tried to reset APNs to default but still nothing has changed.

This is actually a forum here for P9, not for P9 Lite (another one is for Lite)
Hello everyone on this forum!
I have an issue with my P20 Pro when using wifi hotspot, or I think it's releated to my phone. To the point...
Sometimes I have to use wifi hotspot from my p20 pro to share internet access to my work laptop. Basically, if I'm at home office I use VPN to connect to internal network of my work place, so I can access internal recources. And everything is working when using hotspot except one program which uses SQL database. On phone wifi hotspot I can't access this database and it looks like my phone is blocking traffic related to this database. Database is giving me error that I'm not connected to internal network. I tried to reset network setting, still the same problem. I checked on some other phones:
google pixel 4a - database access OK,
huawei P20 lite - no database access,
any other non-phone hotspot network - database access OK.
Any segestion why this is happening?
Try usb tether and switching to 5Ghz (if possible on notebook side). Sounds like some routing issues but if you tried resetting already then I don't suppose you'll be able to resolve that.
