OEM skin/software - OnePlus 5T Real Life Review

Are you comfortable in your own skin? Is your phone comfortable in its skin? Rate this thread to express how you deem the skin on the OnePlus 5T. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it adds just the right amount of features, it's visually pleasing, and overall it's additive to the experience. If this is a Nexus phone (you didn't think we hand-wrote all of these prompts, did you?) then use this rating to indicate how the latest version of Android looks to you.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Some of the stock applications leave a bit to be desired.
1. Gallery: It's a basic Gallery. The biggest downfall is that you can't move pictures from one folder to another. (REPLACE WITH MODDED VERSION OF QUICKPIC)
2. Dialer: Some of us have a weird bug where the "Tips" screen won't disappear from the dialpad. It's pretty annoying. (IF ROOTED, FLASH MODDED GOOGLE DIALER)
3. Messaging: It doesn't support sending .GIFs. It also has some formatting errors and often displays long messages as MMS. It also labels pictures as (No subject), instead of displaying (Picture) with the actual picture next to it. (REPLACE WITH GOOGLE MESSENGER)
Let's clean it up a little bit OnePlus!!

The only reproach is the nav bar color that does not adapt properly to some applications. For exemple when the google keyboard is displayed with an official theme, it is strange to have a white nav bar with a colored keyboard.

What's the modded version of Quickpic? I used to use this application until it was sold to Cheetah Mobile.

Apps that work on Nook Touch

Hi, After rooting my Nook Touch I've been trying to find apps that work. It made sense to me if there was a sticky making it easier to play with our new toys so hopefully a mod will stickie this.
I haven't tried any of these yet but Aruangra said they work with Nook Touch:
Opera Mini (There are zoom buttons !. But it cannot access the local host (192.168.x.x))
Opera Mobile (It can access the local host)
Dictionary.com
NewsRob
Kindle
Documents to Go
Dropbox
InstaFetch
Aldiko
ASTRO file manager
SpeedTest.net
PG Calculator
BuzzBox RSS
Evernote
Moon+ Reader (The physical buttons can also change pages !!! and every page is refreshed. No more ghosting issue)
ADW Launcher (Maybe the only launcher that can change background color of Drawer)
Advanced Task Killer (a Must have)
Button Savior (a Must have)
NookColor Tools (a Must have)
Superuser (a Must have)
Rev01 says these work:
working (on restore)
Titanium Backup
Read it later (Pro)
ElectroDroid
RootExplorer
Terminal Emulator
Wifi Analyzer
Permissions Denied
Samba Filesharing
ShoppingList Plus
Wuala
Autostarts
XDA (Premium) (some threads are empty)
Tebra says these games work:
Crimson Fields
Andoku
Four in a Row HD
apeine:
Tried some, but most of them has some level of ghosting:
Working so far:
- Klondike
- Reversi free
- Nemo picross
- GObandroid (to play Go! - very good)
- Super Sudoku
- Klondike free
- Dark nova (used to love Space Trader on my old Treo)
- Repligo and ezPDF. Both allows annotation and bookmarking. Give it a try!
Repligo doesn't work, or at least it didn't work for me. It installed, but every time I tried to open a .pdf it would flash the menu to accept the license and then disappear.
ezPDF reader seemed to work just fine.
Sync with Google calendar
One of the major reasons for getting my Nook Touch was to be able to sync with google calendar. I was very upset when I learned the ability to sync the calendar was random until now...
synker allows you to manually sync your calendar and mail.
I also have found that Jorte is a much nicer calendar/planner than stock. Both of these apps are free and available on Android market.
The greyscale screen on this takes me back to my old M105 palm pilot days! Just for nostolgia, it would be pretty interesting to see some of these old applications revived either through a palm pilot emulator, which does not exist, or developer-made applications inspired from palm applications. There use to be a whole ecosystem of palm pilot applications built for greyscale touch screens (in super-low resolution) with a poor refresh-rate in mind.
I had an M100 too, and the way that Palm soft was integrated is nowhere to be seen nowadays (not on standard IOS, Android, etc), maybe only on WebOS. If there was such a family of apps as in Pam, the nook would rock. I'll second Starbux on his request.
I'd be the third for a Palmish app. I loved my Treo PDAs. I had some programs to this day I'm unable to find a good replacement for.

Thanks

Hi! I've found this post looking for references to my apps, I'm the developer of Four in a Row HD (it has its own thread here at XDA).
I didn't know about the Nook Touch till now, that's e-ink screen, isn't it? I wonder how it looks there. I suppose choosing the "Plastic" skin (no textures, just vector graphics) and disabling animations in the options menu would fit fine.
I'm really curious to know how it looks in e-ink, could anyone send me or upload a picture or screenshot? Thanks, and enjoy the game!
google Talk and words with friends
anyone try to use either of these apps? Talk loads but only part of keyboard is shown, so you cannot send messages. my contact list shows up and i can send single words to people as long as the words dont include the letters that are missing.
i loaded words with friends and when i try to load a game or invite someone to play, it says there is a network error. maybe there is an easy fix to this?
other apps that seem to work.
sense analog clock widget
crossword light

Here is a screenshot of your game on the nook touch.
As you can see, it's a lite difficult to see difference between black player and the not used places on the 16 gray level of the e-ink display.
Thanks! It looks playable, but I'll look into adding a high contrast theme, not just with colors but with textures/patterns. 16 gray levels, OK xD
Thanks, Mocelet2000. I know that B&W tablets are not a "growing" market for Android apps, but your concern shows that maybe it is viable.

No problem, fortunately my game is not about fancy animations, so fixing the contrast in red pieces (haha, sorry, that's black for you) might be easy.
I have a 10" Honeycomb tablet, it is heavy and has too much brightness at night (even at minimum settings). The capacitive screen makes it impossible to write notes or have some precission when drawing. Of course, it's great for all the other things.
A lightweight tablet, with high contrast screen of about 7 inches, easy on the eyes like e-ink (a bit more refresh rate wouldn't hurt...), with resistive stylus, may be even cheap to make and would be the ultimate notepad on the go.
EDIT: a sneak peak of the new theme "Naughts and crosses" designed for black and white screens It will appear in the next update of the game in the Market. Since I don't have a Nook Touch, the following screenshot is actually a screenshot from my mobile phone displayed in my ebook reader (quite weird testbed, haha, but it's closer to reality than photoshop).
Four in a Row HD with enhanced grayscale screens support in the Market now, make sure you're installing version 3.3 at least.
Recommended preferences for the Nook Touch in options menu:
- Choose the "Naughts and crosses" skin.
- Disable animations.
- Check "solid black background" box in case the new gray stripes looks bad.
Other skins might look better now also, specially the default metal skin which has textured face. Moreover, the striped default background helps differentiating holes and chips.
If you've found this update useful, please rate and comment in the Market and/or the official thread at XDA, thanks so much!
Mocelet2000, Thanks for helping us out with the new skins. It's great to see developers supporting such an atypical device such as our Nooks. Ryan

Thanks for the report! It seems the Nook does not clear the canvas as it's supposed to do before each call to the drawing routine.
Anyway, now I paint a big black solid rectangle before anything else, should do the trick. Version 3.3b in the Market now ^^
Overdrive (public library ebooks) works
Friends,
Just wanted to let you know that Overdrive works for reading public library ebooks.

[IDEA] Real Plain Text Theme/Launcher

No icons, no wallpaper, no images of any kind. I've seen themes that used images of text to get the aesthetic down, which is still cool, but it seems like there's room for a launcher with a super tiny footprint that also looks sweet. Of course, if I've missed it, and this already exists, I'd love to be corrected.
Icons: plain text but could be include the ascii round of characters, maybe even the full unicode set?
Folders: Like any other asciicon. You could add a smaller ascii symbol to the lower right/left hand corner to signify it was a folder not a program if you really wanted. You could create a folder with ascii art.
Wallpaper: ASCII art. Not a photo thereof, actual ASCII. Would need the ability to alter color and perhaps alpha to avoid confusion with foreground.
Widgets: text output only. Input fields would be reminiscent of a terminal input. Associated buttons would be dealt with a la asciicons, with ascii symbols.
Customizability: on par with ADW or LP.
I'd pay for that ^. Would anyone else? I realize these days with super phones, live wallpaper and 3d carosels are more sexy, but there are a lot of hacked devices running froyo that are still light on specs and plain text can have a nice sharp retro appeal. It seems like there's a potential market there for an enterprising developer.
Is there a launcher whose theme engine could produce a plain text only setup? Would the footprint be significantly reduced by such a theme?
What this lacks in popularity, it makes up for unanimity. 100% in favor. An enterprising developer could just charge me and that one other guy who likes the idea a fortune each and still turn a profit! Any takers?
One last New Year's bump.
Hi,
I'm currently learning Android programming and studying Launcher2 code. In near future I will be starting a launcher which will have a pseudo-graphic text mode (remember Turbo Pascal?) with minimalist (16x16?) icons, some simple widgets, notepad/folders (which will work like resizable and stackable windows), and a commandline mode (can be configured to mimic either DOS or Linux, but with some builtin shortcuts and functions for Android usage). It doesn't have a name yet. I will certainly announce it on xda when any usable version will be finished and tested on at least a few devices.

Sounds interesting, I look forward to it. Are you gearing the text mode to have a super small footprint, or is it more for nostalgia's sake?

Mainly for nostalgia's sake and "I just want it on my phone so badly and no one did it before" sake, though I know few people who could use it. I wouldn't release the project open source but it will probably free for ever. I won't include all dos/linux commands, of course (keep it simple and not bloated), and i will simplify/shortcut some things for android usage (like, running apps from CLI just by their name, not any going-in-depths-to-system-folders stuff), though I shouldn't spoil everything already lol. Also I still have a 2.3.7 device...
I've found lightning launcher and it's the lightest weight launcher I've found. My 528mhz dinosaur actually feels snappy again after I pared down the options to it's most minimal setup. What's more there are lots of customizations available even for devices that aren't ancient.
It's not plain text, but it is light.
I've been looking for a theme like this for a long time, never found one. It would be cool to have a phone without all the aesthetics. Black screen with only text , or very small symbols.

Kite UI - Coherent User interface *Theme*

Kite UI Project (Theme elements for Android devices)
*Update on receiving a full version will be posted soon*

In front of you is reincarnation of popular user interface Kite UI.
Instruction on complete applying of elements:
1. You need launcher which replacement of standard icons is possible in. The theme was tested on Lightning Launcher,
which has necessary features: 1) possessing a large quantity of settings, it remains to be the fastest of offered on the Market. 2) Movement on the screen
can be carried out to the left, to the right, down, up and on a diagonal, in difference from other launchers, who offer transition between home
screens only by moving to the left and right.
After all that there is a question, what is Kite UI? How the movement on the screen should be carried out? If you saw a topic on xda-developers, you already
are familiar with structure. If not, I will tell you, it should be carried out comprehensively. Probably, with a little differences, than
in Lightning Launcher, but nevertheless, very approximately. Still App Drawer is built standardly in it.
Certainly, to achieve the necessary result in settings, you should spend a little time in settings of a launcher. From the most important points of
settings, I will note, in the line :Number of columns" it is necessary to put value 3, and in "Line height" - 75, if your screen has not got more or less than 3.5 inches.
Otherwise you should experiment with settings.
!!!. You can use any launcher for a theme, I only give advice. If you're not familiar with any of the launchers you can
just install a BetterCut app from the market.
2. You need to download the UltimateCustomClockWidget (UCCW) app to apply and issue the clock widget on the main homescreen.
3. Super Status Bar. Even with the trial version of this program, you will approach status bar of the phone to the status of a Kite bar as much as possible.
And everything is at a minimum of spent time. You don't need additional application of themes, which will be unlocked in the paid version. Standard design
is already approached. !!!. Similar programs, such as, for example, Status Bar +-Custom Status Bar are possible. But design of an appropriate look
I can not guarantee.
4. Music player. Not compulsory procedure. I looked long for it. I use TTPod with an orange standard skin, thanks to its fast speed of the circulation, the built-in 12-band equalizer, strengthening of basses, shake function imitation, and madly beautiful design.
5. Widget Locker. I included the backup settings of the application. Well, and Kite Locker certainly. So, I think it would not be a hard work to adjust it for long since everything here is provided by me.
It is necessary only to put icons and widgets there. As a clock for lockscreen for example I use UCCW too.
THE PAID ARCHIVE CONSISTS OF:
1. 40 Kite UI style homescreen and 49 app menu icons.
2. A Kite UI clock widget, with author's backup settings along with 50 day and 49 night weather skins.
3. Nearly 80 HD, FHD and UHD landscape and 16 abstraction wallpapers. The Kite design looks perfect with every of it.
4. Exclusive fonts to set up date, etc... including original Kite UI font ("kite" folder).
5. The well-known Kite UI LockScreen on the basis of Widget Locker. Simplicity and grace.
6. The well-known Kite UI wallpaper with the clouds, recreated most approximately to the original taking into account more than 80 layers of a photoshop. The original eclusive KITE UI wallpaper is also included.
7. Many variants of demo icons and weather skins, so you could see all the progress been maken.
The FREE v.0.7 of the theme consists of:
1. 10 Kite UI style homescreen and 50 app. menu icons.
2. A Kite UI clock widget, with author's backup settings along with 6 main day and 6 main night weather skins.
3. 33 HD landscape wallpapers. The Kite design looks perfect with every of it.
4. Original Kite UI font ("kite" folder).

I need some action in the topic, so I pay your attention on a contest. First 10 people who post messages in this topic will get this theme for just a 1$. Contest ends on 15th of June.
As good as this looks, I think you should have a look at the rules on xda regarding paid apps. It's one thing to have a donation button, quite another to try and sell your theme here.
+1 on the previous post. Great idea but, in my opinion, its bad way to advertise the theme. Good luck though. I'd love to see the free version as per XDA rules.

Ok. I really appreciate some activity in the topic, as long as it good review or a critics.
1. As for XDA rules, I've read it. I didn't lie to anybody, so you get a full alpha of this work, which is not restricted by time limits or smth. to review it and make a choice of appreciate or not appreciate an author's work. Instead of donate version I just made a note of transfering a payment. I've done the analog of XDA conditions, not crossing it.
2. I started this work in early 2010. Since then there were a lot of re-doings and some new things, as programms needed for this are also newer now, so there was a huge progress to see, what you see now.
3. All the updates of work will be released free in this topic, so you support a lot of spent time. I tried not to make a monopoly of this work, so there is a free link also.
As the contest goes on, you can receive the full version for transferring a $1. Posted to cornelha, ncdub
:good:
I'm giving it a shot.
Initial feedback not even installing yet.....
1. I have to figure out how to install. I'm a relatively smart fellow, but I'm having to read the install instructions more than once to figure out what to do. From my experience most people don't spend a lot of time working to get a theme installing. Using themechooser or something similar and picking a theme that has been installed by an apk is the preferred method
I have purchased the full UCCW and have messed with my own designs so I'm not expecting any issues.
2. Download locations are the easiest or user friendly. It was easy for me, I have a multi-host download program I pay for and I use Internet Download Manger so it's a two click deal for me.
3. Good deal adding install instructions in rar file. That helps.
I've got it downloaded. I'm going to play with it on my stockish 4.3 ROM on my ATT Note 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704375
dicksteele, yeah, the main problem of the work that it is not in one easy apk.
Though I am not smart in coding, so everything is just a designer's work. I just was so excited by Kite interface, and dissappointed it wasn't released to a public, so I wanted to anyhow recreate it. How I could.
WORK If you could do some help with coding this thing, you can P.M. me to my e-mail address (entered higher) or to my XDA profile. That help would be appreciated.
Also, you can have the full theme according to contest rules.
Waiting for other posts...
feel free to P.M. an author.
I'm closing this thread since it doesn't follow the paid themes guidelines, and is using pay-per-click links.
To summarize:
You can advertise your paid themes if and only if the free version is equivalent to it.
Download links must not be a mean for you to get money.
For more details, refer to the paid themes policy and the forum rules (especially rule #13).

Black Theme Android/Apps

Hello,
I tried to find Dark/Black themes for Z3 Compact which could theme settings, calendar, contacts and a lot of other apps but without success.
I also tried some Xposed module for theming but all of them were not working
I would like something really close to the one made by @Rajeev (dark and blue) like here
Or something like eXistenZ from @niaboc79 like here
Sadly his rom is not working on our Z3 Compact
I am currently using Slimm 3.1 Rom from @Wajk
If someone could help me, i will be really greatful
I also tried Substratum theme engine, and Layers manager but the apps doesn't start then FC ?

You should flash something about the Layers you can't directly use it AFAIK, also I don't know any other way than Layers on MM to edit the apps as you requested. Even with Layers, it is very risky, it might screw your system up, make sure to have a back-up! When it comes to eXistenZ, it is a highly customized ROM so don't compare it with stock
Substratum works for MM. I've mixed a few of the best free, cheap and quality themes I've tested. Theming quality varies and compatibility can be inconsistent. Takes some time to test. But I've done that so can share. I'll list in order of quality preference. That way you choose the priority theme's overlays when there are duplicates.
Material Glass is a free unique dark theme. Has transparency to wallpaper throughout and for pop ups. Can use all of them. Don't like it's XDA labs though. Also has two bugs if using it's Android System, volume slider hides foreground app and keyboard switcher reboots device.
Swift Black is a cheap quality pack still in active development and updating to substratum. Pretty much all of it's overlays are great except Chrome's window heading clashes. It's Systemui and Android System are standouts priority above Material Glass the latter only because of prior mentioned bugs.
InversionUI is a good free pack. Not as good as Swift Black but if preferring free can be a close replacement. For example it's play store ratings colour clashes white. Google calendar, catlog and news & weather are unique to it. Calendar status bar icons clash black, but using white icons and clock changing in gravitybox is a workaround.
Dark Material free from play store for it's unique facebook and instagram. Substratum itself only seems to black with this one.
These have YouTube which is just it's setting menu aparrently and eBay just it's notification. I think Android System overlays clash black text in Sony's messaging, I just swapped to using Google's Messenger instead.
They're actually the best combo. I tried some others but had no results or crashes. Haven't tested all as these fill everything already. Can't complain with the results!
edit: for posterity's sake using xposed mod Qs X tiles per row can help theme notifications colours. Also xposed mod LPThemer works on MM: under it's Status bar tab, enabling notification text colour can change notification button text colours.

This information is a little old so some things don't function anymore. Development for Substratum has moved onto OMS and older legacy support is discontinued. Some app updates have broken overlays too. I'm using two Z3C's, one on LineageOMS 14.1 which uses a new different mixed combination of packs including the old legacy Material Glass. The old MM stock I've just stopped using an overlay when it breaks.
Yes that's Swift Black, they stopped updating legacy awhile ago. Maybe if you can purchase I can provide the original last updated v8.7 APK to use. Yes, that's InversionUI, but I don't use any of it anymore. Dark Material has the package name com.chummy.darkmaterial_layers, I don't use it anymore. I haven't tried that, I just use my old stock MM as a backup so not changing things there unless needed. I just keep my LineageOMS 14.1 updated currently.
If might help so this is how my old remaining MM is set up:
Material Glass v3.2 old 3.2 for how the theme accent is preferred white still before it was changed to grey
- Android System (Use GravityBox to set media tweaks, volume panel timeout to 1 second to help with the overlay bug. Can use Tasker with Secure settings plugin to create a Keyboard switcher to get around the crashing default selector)
Material Glass v3.4 beta One of the last betas from the github
- Tags, Trusted Face, Phone Call Management, Google Play Store, GravityBox, eBay, Translate, Google, GBoard, Package Installer, Kernel Adiutor, Instagram (old version)
Material Glass v3.4 I think these were just apps I installed later so I used the latest and last release
- Messages, Android System WebView
Swift Black
Calendar, Google Text-to-speech, Hangouts, Keep, MX Player, Media Storage, Messenger Lite, News & Weather, Phone Services, Skype, VLC, Viber
I kept a note of when an overlay stopped working in case I needed to reinstall after a clean ROM. I had DocumentsUI and Gmail removed from Material Glass. I had Docs, Drive, Google Play Store, Phone Call Management, Translate and eBay removed from Swift Black. Of course I haven't tested everything and theres apps I don't have too, but that's what works for me and can be used as a guide.

Sorry, I haven't had Z3c for over 5 years... I don't think those files exist anymore. You can use Apktool right on the phone to mod your system apps. That's mainly how I did everything.
One of my favorite phones, though. If Sony did more updates, I might still have it.

This is Rain, an LG Home+ theme for your LG G8, LG V40, LG V50 running Android 9. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Rain is a dark theme with some bright gradient accents throughout. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! The app icons have a slight gradient to them, with some more noticeable than others. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons. If you'd prefer adaptive you will need to use a third party launcher like Hyperion or Nova.
No need to run a third party theme system any more, just use the system theme chooser and you can enjoy all the benefits of an advanced theme system.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Rain, and push apply! then reboot and then reapply the theme again. It's a bit more in depth than other themes but given the complexity of this premium theme it is required for all elements to be themed properly. Also it is not recommended to "Hide the second screen/notch"'. This may cause some system apps to look odd.
That's it! Simple, easy and quick.
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
Now for the only part that real matters!!!! Screenshot all the thingies!
Enjoy!!!
G Theme 3
Click me for Video Promo
t's back!!! This is G Theme 3. Why G Theme you ask? Well I think you can figure that out when you use it what it's all about. This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! G Theme 3 is a dark theme with beautiful colors and designs throughout it. The Dark Notifications compliment the ui and battery life! This theme supports adaptive icons and I recommended choosing circle which is unlocked as a feature and can be accessed from going into the settings application and then going into display, home and choose the icon shape. Due to this the music app does have a light overlay at the bottom which is a bug that LG should address!!! For real LG fix that will ya.
Now this is the important part. This theme is only for LG devices running UX 6, Android 8.0 Oreo. If you are running a different LG UX or android version this will not work and if you upgrade from the above this theme may not work properly. It is presented on an "as is basis". I do my best to try and update to allow for the theme to function on all devices as best I can and as soon as I can. However due to LG's interesting update cycle sometimes one device may update prior to others.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Twilight, and push apply! then reboot and then reapply the theme again. It's a bit more in depth than other themes but given the complexity of this premium theme it is required for all elements to be themed properly.
That's it! Simple, easy and quick.
The theme comes with a coral wallpaper but if you'd like to have it animated simply grab this add on and set it as a live wallpaper and you'll be all set. Since most Lg Devices don't support seamless wallpapers just download this and install it and set as your live wall and enjoy!
Live Wallpaper right Here!!!
Please note that refunds will not be given for installations on non UX 6 (running Oreo) Devices. As the title of the theme clearly indicates which device this is for and this app description does specify which OS version is supported..
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
If you run into any issues please send me an email directly instead of leaving a poor rating. Often I am very quick to reply and great to solve any issues. The review system is not meant to be a support channel!
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you enjoy this theme. I've worked extremely hard on this and by far it was the most challenging and time consuming project I've ever made!
Instructional video on how to apply Alpha, see below
You will need ADB installed on your pc: Right here
You will also need the substratum app as well as the Andromeda app and the Desktop client for Andromeda
This thread is for support and feedback for my LG Substratum themes and legacy LG themes. with the update to 8.0 Oreo substratum is now supported without rooting your device. Due to the capabilities with Substratum all previous LG themes will be referred to as "Legacy themes" and the primary focus has shifted to Substratum. Since substratum can provide everything that an LG theme can provide and more it makes the most sense to evolve and transcend into the more advanced theming system.
So this is my first theme "Alpha". It has a double meaning and I feel is appropriate for this theme. Let's stop with the chit chat and post a few screenshots and if you're looking for a way to pass the time then keep reading! I promise you the literature doesn't get any better, but have at it!

Oh hey everyone! Again, I didn't see ya there. You just snuck right up on me now didn't ya bud. Well it's that time again. Another new beautiful LG device is upon us and I had to get it. So it must mean it's time for another fun theme discussion and feedback thread. Now I must get this next bit out of the way to make it clear what the purpose of this thread is. 1: I am not here to sell my work whatsoever and that is not the purpose of this thread. Posts regarding updates, screenshots or other communication are strictly for the purposes of obtaining feedback on what I do. and to see if users are pleased with said changes. 2: I will never post a direct link to anything I make that is paid as that is not allowed and I expect that as users you will not post links either.
My V20 and G6 threads are absolutely fantastic and I encourage you all to check it out at some point if you wish to see how I interact with people. I cannot thank you all enough who have supported me and given me feedback and interacted with me in any way to discuss things theme related. Don't be shy about commenting or giving suggestions or feedback provided it is constructive and is done in a mature and professional manner. Feel free to joke around a bit and have some fun. That's what it's all about anyway. It's a very positive and fairly active thread. Users often give me feedback which is incredibly valuable and also post pics of any bug fixes. That allows me to quickly address issues.
First things first to any mods who may be peeping it is important to note that I am complying with xda rules and there are zero paid direct links posted anywhere in this thread by me. So there are no rules being violated. Rule 11 states that I can use xda to get user feedback on paid applications and that is what this thread is for so I am well within rule 11 which can be found here:
11. Don?t post with the intention of selling something.
Don?t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software or commercial services, unless you?re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Encouraging members to participate in forum activities on other phone related sites is prohibited.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
Off-site downloads from sites requiring registration are NOT encouraged but may be permitted if both of the following conditions are met:
A) The site belongs to a member of XDA-Developers with at least 1500 posts and 2 years membership, who actively maintains an XDA-Developers support thread(s) / posts, related to the download.
B) The site is a relatively small, personal website without commercial advertising / links (i.e. not a competitor forum-based site with purposes and aims similar to those of XDA-Developers.com.)
Be sure to follow me on google plus to stay up to date and get additional theme information regarding updates and other testing and feedback.
So this thread is for all those who are using any of my themes where we can come discuss things, give feedback and post screens etc of what I've been working on. I will continue to add new themes and post screens of my work here and interact with all of you. Remember, I ask that you be civil to myself and other members and keep any feedback constructive.
Pixel 2
This is Pixel 2 theme. This is my take on the Pixel 2 Ui on your LG V30 or LG G6 using UX 6/6+. What you will find is the high standards and attention to the small details that you have come to expect from every single one of my designs. I have created and evolved the way we look at themes in general for LG and set the bar where others will surely try to copy. This is my interpretation on the Pixel 2. Now sit back and enjoy the refreshing yet familiar experience. Do not be fooled by imitations or knock offs that will take shortcuts in order to say they support 20 different LG devices. You know you're getting a brand and quality with me. Now let's have some fun shall we?

G Theme 2 & G Theme 2 Light
This is G Theme 2. You know what the G is for and that is what the backbone of this is. What you will find is the high standards and attention to the small details that you have come to expect from my designs. I have integrated some very familiar and comfortable elements and added some bright and colorful flare to really make it pop! This is the third chapter in the G Theme series.
G Theme 2 is absolutely gorgeous. It is pixel perfection with vectored iconography with all the little details you've been wanting in a theme. You can stop looking for that one theme, it is here.
G Theme 2 brings you crisp and clean and redesigned icons, stunning animated check and radio selectors overhauled from the ground up featuring a morphing design that flourishes, as well as an appropriate long shadow being cast as well as the retraction. The quick settings icons and settings icons features long shadows and the floating action button has been redesigned and implemented throughout the theme. And the keyboard has been reconstructed to replicate the new dark G board style with boarders.
Echo
Please take a minute or two and read this. There are a few things that will help you out if you're lost or confused on a couple things.
This is Echo. What make this theme unique is that it the first and original theme to truly invert the stock ui while retaining features no other theme can do. Echo is all about choice. As the user you should be able to choose if your icons have the default icon frame background or not. You should be able to choose if your navigation bar is white or black... Personally white isn't my thing for this theme but hey it's there if you want! Please don't rate me 1 star and send me a silly message if your navbar is white when you apply this! It may be white if you have it set to be white in settings! As I said it's all about choice so you can set it how you like!
The calendar and clock icons are dynamic in this theme too! And the setting icons will retain the colorful backgrounds they were meant to have! No other theme out there can even come close to giving these to you in such a beautifully inverted style. There are also subtle changes where I felt a few things could be improved from the default light theme.
This theme is meant to run at high resolution only. I do not support lower resolutions and it is not recommended to set it below QHD! This theme is only compatible with UX 6 or UX 6+. Unfortunately I will not be making a UX 5 version of this theme for those wondering as there are too many things that cannot be done on it.
Dark Aosp
It's been a long time coming for this one and today the time has come for Dark Aosp to come to your V30 and G6!
This theme utilizes the dark mode settings found in vanilla Android with a few twists based on your feedback. It is clean, minimal and a very smooth experience. It is also the only theme that uses a true material minimal keyboard, simulating the flat style found in the stock Aosp or Google keyboard!
I hope you will enjoy this one and if you do please take a minute to drop a rating and comment too!
PixTerial
This is PixTerial. This theme is what happens when you combine Pixel Ui with some Material Design and add in some darkness! It's a very clean theme with subtle animations, with an inverted ui of the Pixel Ui. Now throw in some fresh and fun iconography and you have a beautiful theme to enjoy.
Pixel Experience
This is the Pixel Experience. For those who want to enjoy a lighter theme with minimal, subtle changes that want to be able to set it and forget it without having to worry about constant Google app updates and be able to enjoy the Pixel look. This is for you and you're gonna love it! Like Alpha this theme will be updated regularly and will continue to grow as time goes by. Enjoy the clean and refreshing look and experience the Pixel!!! #WhiteUiMustLive
Now you probably didn't bother to read that crap above so let's just post some screenshots shall we?
Some users may experience some readability issues in Settings/storage. So for those who can't deal with these speed bumps I've made a patch for this. It's actually 12 patches so it will take about 30-40 seconds to apply it.
Instructions on how to apply patches are here (same method for settings fix as well as light notifications):
How to install the patch: First update the theme to the latest version. Then download the patches for what you're trying to do. Next change to stock theme. Then install the patches. Then after you've installed them apply Pixel Experience. Next reboot and you'll be all set. If you experience some force closes that is because you didn't revert to stock theme and installed the patches while using Pixel Experience
Here is the patches for the settings fix:

Pixel Experience Dark
Welcome to the dark side. This is Pixel Experience Dark! Including dark notifications! I'm really proud of this and how it turned out! Please take the time to read the app description as there is some important information in there for your benefit which will help you get the best experience out of this theme! Also in the description are optional patches which are theme specific!
So go get it and please drop me a quick rating and if you'd also be so kind to give this a quick share too that would be great!
Screenshots!!!
I've also included a patch for Light notifications because some people mention that they're having difficulties with some apps like whatsapp or telegram where the user name is black on a dark background or that they have a light shadow around said text to make it somewhat readable. If you wish you can install the patch and the entire theme will remain as is but the notifications will be light and you won't have any issues at all.
Also I have a patch for a settings fix. So basically this is the only theme that has been able to change the settings icon backs to have different colors than stock. There is only one method to do it because unlike the G7 they hardcoded them in smali which I can't touch. So due to this some south korean users have experienced a force close in settings (even though I asked them to send me a log so I could fix it none of them ever did). Also there are a few other issues for some dual sim users in settings and a couple screens like storage, accounts that just don't quite look right. These are essentially collateral damage and cannot be fixed if we want to have true Android pie style colored settings icons. So for those who can't deal with these speed bumps I've made a patch for this. It's actually 12 patches so it will take about 30-40 seconds to apply it.

Since this theme pushes the boundaries of the LG Theme system it retains adaptive and dynamic icons on stock launcher. Due to this you will have to select your navbar color in settings, display, home touch buttons. Simply select the dark navbar color. Unfortunately when you select dark it gives you black. This may bother some as it will not be the identical dark shade that the theme uses so I've also made another patch for users who want it to match. This however will kill the adaptive and dynamic icons so decide which option you prefer because unfortunately due to system limitations you simply cannot have both. Like the previous patch just install it, reapply the theme and reboot. If you use a third party launcher this patch should most definitely be used. link to patch: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JddcJfr9RPwgVbZUnH4kfe-88RdsIFxS

Twilight
See bottom of description for Quick Settings and Dialer Add-on Patches!
This is Twilight an LG Home+ theme for your LG V20, G6, V30, G5 running Oreo only (Pie is not yet supported!!!) This theme is a premium quality theme like no other Home theme+. What you see is what you get and that is quality and attention to details! Twilight is a dark theme with bright gradient accents throughout. This theme does not support adaptive icons as some of the key features of this theme are blocked by enabling the adaptive icons. If you'd prefer adaptive you will need to use a 3rd party launcher like Hyperion.
3rd party Quick Settings Icons:
Some apps allow the user to add a shortcut activity to the quick settings panel. This is not supported by this theme whatsoever. If you decided to add any icons to your quick settings panel they will not show up. They will be 100% transparent. They cannot be added. If this bothers you then in a future update I will make an add-on quick settings patch that will add usability back for them, however it will sacrifice the creativity of the current structure of both styles of available quick settings icons. It will be more minimal and all the icons will be the same color like how most themes are. Due to the complexity and advanced nature of this theme this is something that I am aware of and have embraced 100%.
To apply the theme simply go into settings/display and select themes. From there select Twilight, and push apply!
Please note that refunds will not be given for installations on non LG V20, G6, V30, G5 Oreo Devices. The title of the theme clearly indicates which device this is for and the description also specify which OS version is supported..
This theme is also meant to run at the highest resolution, with the lowest stock setting for the actual display size. Larger sizes may cause some elements to look slightly off. If this happens please lower the display sizes of the iconography.
If you run into any issues please send me an email directly instead of leaving a poor rating. Often I am very quick to reply (unless I'm sleeping and you're in a different time zone) and great to solve any issues. The review system is not a direct support channel!
Quick tip... Search and install the app "Quick Shortcut Maker" on google play. Install, then set a 1x1 quick shortcut maker widget and drag it on your home screen. Then in the activities tab, scroll down to "Themes", expand it. touch 1st option at the top of the list that doesn't have and upwards arrow. Hit Create" button at the bottom and now you have a themes app shortcut.
This theme as you can see from the screen previews shows two different styles of Quick Settings icons. This is because I designed both styles and had a tough time deciding on which ones to go with so I decided to make them both. Minimum are default. If you wish to change them simply install the corresponding patch to the style that you want. After you've installed the patch, apply the default LG theme. Then reboot and reapply the theme. If you wish to change back the original style you can repeat the above process using the other patch. I've uploaded and clearly labeled both patches. Those along with other dark notification patches can be found here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288984
There is also a patch for the V20/G5 and G6/V30 for the dialer. Because these devices have a different screen resolution I could not make a universal round dialer app. I had to make it just plain black by default but you can install a patch for it as well. These are in the same folder as the quick settings add-ons in the above link. To apply them follow the same steps. V20/G6 Dialer: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288982
V30/G6 Dialer: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288984
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you enjoy this theme. I've worked extremely hard on this and by far it was the most challenging and time consuming project I've ever made!

I see a lot of black and white but the back of my device is silver. ?
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk.
Great idea! I'll definitely be doing some nice dark ones. I had to do this first because well it's th3 Pixel 2! ???
Have you tested any of your themes with a modified DPI? I downloaded a different V30 theme yesterday, and when it didn't look as shown in screenshots, I eventually found that it was the custom DPI. As soon as I reverted to an official setting, it looked as expected.

Do you mean via adb or using the dpi options included in stock? I imagine using adb it will kill the theme. If i recall the V20 was like that and it was simply beyond our control. I myself have not tried the adb method but did try the stock way and all seemed fine.

It was done through ADB. I miss just how small I could make text on the Note8, so I set it to 500 using a shell command. It applied most of the theme after, but certain elements didn't apply correctly.

Gotcha. I figured as much. What wasn't applied? Depending on what was affected there may be a work around. We can support different dpi folders and I'm starting to use only vectors in the regular drawable folder Which in theory should hit everything regardless of dpi...

The wallpaper was applied, and the background areas that were changed to black, from stock white, also updated. Basically anywhere there was supposed to be magenta, there was orange instead. Which is not present in the stock theme at 500 DPI.
I posted some screenshots here of what is looks like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74282888&postcount=7
I have no problem supporting your awesome work, having used one of your themes on the V20 as well. So I'll buy at least one theme either way, but it would be awesome if it can apply fully.

I wonder if he just used the bold theme as a base and left the other dpi folders in place. That might explain that orange. If at any point you test that on any of my themes let me know what happens at that dpi. I'll be adding a lot of themes in the near future. G Theme will likely be next once I've remade the icon pack for it.
Hey Mark...you made it! :good:
Love the look of the Pixel 2 Theme, but patiently waiting for this dark themes that you are "famous" for!
I think a G Dark and nXt theme would work well with the V30...or something similar to them.
I need to be more decisive regarding which themes I now purchase since majority of my Google credit went to all your V20 themes!
Looking forward to what comes next...
