Sony Quick Charge 3 UCH12... many fakes on Ebay - Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact Accessories

Please don't buy low price quickcharge Sony adapter:
on the right the one i've purchased as bulk original Sony UCH12 from a Ebay uk professional seller, on the left a original one purchased directly by Sony via Amazon.
On the right you can see a Counterfait Sony logo (different font, the O and N are completely different), blurred, smaller and totally unusable qr-code and misaligned text.
On the other side the Sony engraved logo are identical and there are very small differences (blurred and smaller quickcharge 3 and pump2 logo near usb connector)

Hmm, I'm was looking at buying some Sony ucb20 cables, the same that came with the phone, from eBay (China sellers). At little more than $7 for 3, I might take the risk.

Charges with 1900ish mA, and 2000mA with the screen off. https://www.ebay.com/itm/30W-Quick-...l-Charger-Adapter-EU-US-UK-Plug/263138546203?
Measured with Ampere Pro. The Anker PowerCore Speed 10000 QC Qualcomm QC 3.0 Charger with the screen on managed 2020mA.

Another fake from Ebay. Made by SANY

Fire hazard concerns? Would you trust the one I bought? A little concerned. Would like to buy the original Sony charger, but not available in the country I live in.
Measured mine to 25C-29C with an infrared sensor.

Its not the temp you need to worry about. Its the cheap components inside that will explode. Dont risk your life/home!

Ok, guys, i think i should warn u all about what happened to me.
I bought the cheapest Quick Charge 3.0 on ebay available from China, pretty easy to find it, it's the most common, if u do a quick research.
Just to be clear, this one:
Well, i don't know HOW exactly, but this pieace of crap makes my Xperia crazy, i made a video so you guys can understand:
https://youtu.be/KQf1-kImyBM
Funny thing is i thought the problem was the phone itself, some kind of hardware fault (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74418930&postcount=18)...
The black charger you see on the left is one original LG from my previous Nexus 5,of course no problems with that (unfortunately just up to 1400 mAh, don't know if it's barely Quick Charge 2.0...?)
Can somebody tell me what is safe to buy?

Some more pictures of my fake charger.

Tronsmart, Anker, uGreen are good products. I have a cliptec QC2.0 3A charger and it easily charged my previous moto x play at 2.4A maximum. Somehow it could only charge the xz1c at 1.8A I have no idea why.

Thank u for the advices!
About your doubts, i think u answer yourself. Im pretty sure the charger has to be QC 3.0, not just 2.0, regardless how much Ampere u see written..? Or am i mistaken?

So has anyone been able to actually charge their XZ1C at QC 3.0 speeds? I'm topping out at 2030 mAh with the provided UCH12 and USB cable that came in the box with the phone.

The xz1/c does not come with UCH12.

Hi everyone,
I think I've been taken in by an ebay dealer as well.
The charging speed doesn't differ much to the charger that came with the phone.
To be sure, does the XZ1/c say 'rapid charging' or simply 'charging' on the lock screen when it's connected to an UCH12 charger? In my case it says 'charging' but I guess it should be 'rapid charging'...
Many thanks,
SirLoKi

any other reliable third party companies besides anker? kinda pricey for cables and chargers..

Seems like it would work but there are two things i would like to point out. First this is not a quick charge 2.0 charger so fast charge will not work with it, it will charge at normal rate. Also for myself i try to get wall chargers with removable cables just in case my pet eats thru it I can replace them easily and trust me i have gone through 4 cables in the last 4 months. That said i have had good experiences with ones bought from Ebay as well since the prices are far too tempting.
Is rapid charge the same as quick charge?

Usually not at all. What people claim as "rapid charge" is just a small increase in amperage (usually 2+ amps). By reference, USB 2.0 spec is 500mA.
Quickcharge 2.0 increases both the voltage and the amperage it can supply (is. even more wattage). The exact values are negotiated by the phone and what it draws - which is dependent on the current phase of charging.
Here's the exact same one we got with our note 4, OEM and everything! Plus it's way cheaper than the insignia one

That's the one I've been looking at as well but some of the comments claim it's fake. I know it's not a huge risk at 13 dollars but still kind of apprehensive.

Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 Portable Fast Charger.... Fast Charging?

Hello,
Has anyone used a Quick Charge portable battery pack before? You know how when you plug it in to the wall or outlet it will say "fast charging", well I don't get that with quick charge.
Is this normal or should I be panicking?
Thanks
Which model do you have? I have the 15,000mah PB-T3 model & it fast charges my phone fine now. The battery pack itself even supports quick charge so the battery pack will charge at 9V with the Samsung adaptive fast charger or 12V with a certified QC 2.0 charger.
I say "now" cause the first one I received melted & died while charging it.
Have you tried another quality cable?

Also. You need to make sure your cable is plugged into the correct port. I am assuming you have one with two ports, either way if you do have the two ports only one of them is QC 2.0 enabled.
Mine doesn't say, but charges quick -

I was looking at the 10000mah one, the PB-T4 which is 6.5 x 0.6 x 2.9 inches in size.
I cant find anywhere the dimensions of the PB-T3, is there any way you could measure it?

The dimensions listed on Amazon & most other vendors is wrong. The dimensions you gave that's listed for the PB-T4 on Amazon is the size of my PB-T3. Before purchasing I was looking for dimensions also & in another thread someone measured the PB-T4 to be 6.25 x 2.5 x .75 which makes sense cause the PB-T4 looks narrower & thicker than the PB-T3.
I store mine in a Maxpedition TC-2 pouch.

Perfect. That seems like the best all around battery pack.
Heck, it's thicker but the footprint isnt much bigger than the LG V10 (or the Note 5 for that matter) itself.
I can carry the phone and batterypack together in my front jeans pocket easy.
Thanks again!
No problem. Yup, that's what I was worried about, being too big but as you said it's not much bigger than my N5 or the V10.
I was unlucky & the first one I got melted during it's first charge (the battery pack, not while charging my phone) so just to be safe keep an eye out on how hot it gets on your first charge. I liked this one the most out of all the others I was looking at so I took a chance with a replacement. Haven't had one problem with the one I have now.
What I like about is the most is it also supports QC2.0 fast charging & at 12v (but you'll need a QC2.0 charger to charge it at 12v & not an OEM that's only 9v max) so it's not just the output that is fast charging.
EDIT: Oh looks like I already mentioned the fast charging input in this thread.

Yeah, I was looking at that 3-port you have. Interesting that it is such high wattage, at 42W when the 5 port is only 54W. I'm wondering if the 3-Port has faster charging or something but all the QC2.0 port specs seem to be the same.
You might have seen, I'm planning to get this one for the car: http://amzn.to/1OOlcSp

Need help with the aukey power bank
Hey i read you've been using the aukey charger.
I an looking to buy yhe same but spectical about the performance.
Does the power bank itself charge using fast charging? If so which charger you use.
How long does it take for the power bank to charge completely using the output of your charger.
Thanks
I purchased the Aukey 3.0 do to the fact that it work with both micro USB 2.0 & USB Type-C 3.0 compatible. (I won't have to buy another one next year! Lol) I have to say it's quite remarkable. Small enough to put in my pocket with phone connected using a small cable. I got from 55% to full in about 17 min. while screen was off. Takes a while to charge the unit itself (which is to be expected with 10,000 mAh) The unit itself can not be fast charged. It also will not fast charge a phone while it is being charged itself. Simply put, with a $20 price tag (now $30), you can't go wrong. Next time I use it, I'll get some screenshots & add to thread.
AUKEY 16000 mah charge time
Hi all,
Thanks for a help-full post. i bought a aukey 16000mah power bank.
When i recharge the device using my Asus charger (5v 2A & 9V 2A ) from
my phone the device does not show full charge indication. The light on
the power button flashes (Breathing effect) RED, GREEN and then
WHITE. It never goes to SOLID WHITE which would indicate 100% charge
even after plugging it in for 9-12 hours.
I have also used a Aukey 10000mah power bank and in 5-6 hours its
light status goes to SOLID WHITE.
Is this issue only with me or has anyone else faced the same? How long
should the device take to recharge itself with 5V 2A rated charger
which is also mentioned on the device's INPUT rating.
Also would like to know if the light ever goes to SOLID WHITE with other users.
Thanks
Wish one of these codes worked on the 20000mah.
Sent from my SM-N920T using XDA Labs
You should avoid Fast Charge or anything like that. It's extremely bad for lithium polymer to be "Fast Charged" the technical behind it is look at your power brick. Anything over 5v charging is to much and will shorten the battery life. I've seen 5.3 and 9.0. I use a 4.8v 2A charger on all my devices. The lithium polymer gets forced above it's operating voltage of 3.7 to 4.1v.

Did your charger died? DONT BUY BELKIN HOME CHARGER

Hi, my original charger just died, so i decided to buy a good charger, and i rembember thinking "Well, belkin is a well known company, it should work". Long story short, i bought it for 30dls, worked but it charged at 300mha. So i wanted to punch everyone at belkin.
Apparently this charger is not compatible with the LG G2 and im ****ed.
I just wanted to share my experience so no one here go and buy it.

Thanks for the heads up. Most aftermarket chargers like Belkin are garbage. You'd think that at $30+ it would be top notch, but they're actually made to be as cheap as possible by mediocre engineers so they end up being exceedingly terrible. Not only do they not measure up to spec but the output voltage is unstable and has a TON of noise. It's obviously always preferable to go with a good oem charger when possible. Unfortunately they're somewhat hard to find separately without actually buying something and if you do find one for sale they're are a lot of fakes out there so it can be risky.
By far best chargers that are easily attainable are the apple usb chargers. After comparing the apple usb chargers(both 5w and 12w) and a bunch of other usb chargers(both oem and aftermarket) I have using an oscilloscope at work, the apple chargers have the cleanest output by a wide margin. Just be sure to buy them from a major retailer. It's not worth risking getting a fake because at that point you might as well use the belkin.
Additionally, the original 2014 moto x charger and kindle 5w and 9w changers are also very good.
While I prefer the 1A/5w chargers to extend the life of the battery, you can also get the 9w-12w ones which will charge faster if that's something you need. Be sure to use a quality cable too.
edit:
This guy did something similar to what I did but actually took the time to document it. It's very informative and shows how much quality can vary between different chargers.

You can probably find the same/similar thing on ebay for under $2. But you have to keep in mind that not all usb chargers are created equal, especially these cheap aftermarket ones. While it may charge your devices, the quality of the power it delvers may or may not be good. Not to mention that it might not be made to even minimal safety standards - for both you and the device. Even though the charger you recommend may very well be fantastic, it is of unknown quality. Given that the vast majority of all aftermarket usb chargers are substandard, it can be reasonably assumed that this one isn't an anomaly.
I recommended the apple charger because it's known to be of very good quality and it's easy to find.
Check out this site:
http://www.righto.com/2014/05/a-look-inside-ipad-chargers-pricey.html
The author compares a genuine ipad charger with a fake one. Assuming that the majority of aftermarket chargers are built to the same standard(or worse) as the fake, it amazes me that anyone would even consider using one let alone pay for it. What is the logic in saving a couple bucks and potentially risking several hundred? I would rather spend $20 once and have piece of mind in knowing that I have the best.
you are right, but i've just gave you a link to the pretty cheap charger that works well with G2 and as i've said - it charges my tablet as well...

UK rapid wall charger, where the heck are they?

Okay so I'm in the UK and I'm trying to find a UK plugged rapid wall charger equivalent to the one in the box. Why is this so hard?
I'd have thought that LG/Google would sell the standard wall charger as an accessory somewhere but nope.
The only wall charger I can find which claims to be Nexus 5X rapid charge compatible is: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronic...id=1462964507&sr=8-2&keywords=choetech+type+c
At £17 it seemed really pricey but after receiving it, I realise that it doesn't even come with a table.
So then I stump up another £7 to get an Anker Type-C to Type-C cable (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Powe...1462964577&sr=8-4&keywords=anker+type+c+cable) only to find that it's only USB 2.0 rated so isn't capable of doing the rapid charging.
All I want is a spare UK spec rapid wall charger for my Nexus 5X. Ideally identical to the OEM one but.
Why is this so hard?
This is the official Google one:

Does the Mix ship with a 3.0 fast charger?

This is something i haven't seen mentioned or confirmed in all the reviews i have read. I have read reviews of other xiaomi devices that said it was qc 3.0 enabled, but the charger that ships with the phone is not a quick charger and the user would have to buy their own to take advantage of this feature.
so does anyone know if the charger we receive with the mix is in fact a quick charger as the mi mix is on the devices that is qualcomm quick charge 3.0 enabled.

I got an Aukey QC3 5-Port Charger.
I'm trying to get my device empty right now (tough though as it lasts pretty long) and will test it afterwards.
Gesendet von meinem MIX mit Tapatalk
I compared the included charger with my Anker quick charge 3 charger using the Ampere app.
The given stats were marginally better with the included charger.
I'm not really sure what all the figures mean but they were there or there abouts the same, the Anker charger is Qualcom QC3 certified.
Not nearly getting the quoted charge times though with either charger.
At 53% it claimed 44 mins to 100%
Yes, it ships with a fast charger. It delivers:
5V - 2.5A (12,5W)
9V - 2A (18W)
12V - 1.5A (18W)
So yes, it's a QC2.0 fast charger.
I'm currently at 69% and on the normal charger it's 3 hours+, on the QC2.0 charger I have, it's 1.5 hours and it gave me the same for the included charger. Kind of disappointed that it's only 2.0.

What I dislike, and you can't use is the Wireless Charging with your phone and case, and a metal plate stuck to the back of the phone. You see, I really like the various magnetic holders in the car (I have one that works with the CD Slot of the vehicle to mount the holder, another that is a little ball mount that sticks to any flat service). They use a thin metal plate to mount to the back of the phone case, and the magnetic is part of the phone mount that is in the vehicle. If you place the phone with the holder and the metal plate on the wireless charger base, it will overheat both the charging base and the phone.
I REALLY like the magnetic phone mount, and do like wireless charging but it a moot point if you have a mounting plate on the back of your phone or case.
I am using amperage and I own two qualcom version 2.0 chargers one from my Nexus 6, and one I bought on amazon. The OEM Nexus 6 draws about 1.6amps on charge, and the Anker 2.0 draws under 300 mAH. The computer 3.0 USB port from a desktop draws 370mAH to charge the phone.
I will probably invest in a true oem qualcom 3.0 charger.
Pretty cheap of Shomi to not include a 3.0 charger

What I dislike, and you can't use is the Wireless Charging with your phone and case, and a metal plate stuck to the back of the phone. You see, I really like the various magnetic holders in the car (I have one that works with the CD Slot of the vehicle to mount the holder, another that is a little ball mount that sticks to any flat service). They use a thin metal plate to mount to the back of the phone case, and the magnetic is part of the phone mount that is in the vehicle. If you place the phone with the holder and the metal plate on the wireless charger base, it will overheat both the charging base and the phone.

I'm revising my previous post, it seems that the provided charger may indeed be a QC 3.0.
I've been reading that if you use USB-c to USB-c cable instead of the provided USB-a to USB-c cable, you actually get charge rate.
I've also been reading up on the QC 3.0 vs 2.0. Both will max out at 18watts. But 3.0 has a variable voltage whereas 2.0 is fixed at 5V, 9V and 12V. You can see that in the below link, there's a nice table of Watts for each QC.
http://www.androidauthority.com/quick-charge-3-0-explained-643053/
However with USB-C to USB-C, it can charge at full 29Watts. That's a huge difference.
you can see that in the description provided by Anker here
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Type-C-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort/dp/B01D8C6ULO
You can also see here in this device
https://www.amazon.com/Lumsing-Charge-Charger-Foldable-Macbook/dp/B01I1OIO4A
it says 48W of power, and allocates 19W for QC 3.0 which means the other Type-C port is allocated for 29Watts.
So I think I'm going to be looking for something with a direct USB-C port as a charger.
Certainly, this may be all for not if the Xiaomi Mi Mix is limited to 18W of input anyways.
I have the Anker USB-C to USB-C charger, my initial testing indicate that the original charger (China Plug) and my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge charger (UK Plug) are capable of doing 23.8 Watts max, i tried to monitor the difference and what I noticed is the Mi Mix original charger seems to be adjusting the charging power more often (not really sure why and whether it's good). My Anker USB-C to USB-C went up to 28.9 Watts Max. All chargers seems to scale down their charging rate after battery reach 80%+ so I think the best way to test is to empty the better and start from 0%. I doubt I will be doing that test though as it's quite hard to empty battery on Mix and I am pretty happy with my Anker charger so don't think I will be using Stock one or my Samsung one.
Unless I go on holiday with multiple devices that still use old USB port, Anker USB-C to USB-C is my go to charger.
So I think what you confirmed was that the mix can take power at 29 watts.
That's good to know.
Just received this wireless charging receiver today that claims to do fast charge
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LX0Y5CS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it does charge much faster, almost double of the one i posted originally in this thread. i'm getting a charge on it around 950ma which isn't too bad for wireless i don't think.
Is there an app I can use to see if this phone is quick charging ? I have a Google pixel charger USB c to USB c. Trying that out now .I can't really judge because this phone is at least 1000 mAh bigger than what I'm used to lol.

That's what I'm using too! I was at 24% battery, went to sleep for 4 hours with it charging, and I'm only at 74%. There has to be a way to know when we quick charge lol
