Update
Hello All,
Files are now up
Ggow much appreciated that safetrap version is coming back!
Just to clarify that this rom will work with devices that got upgraded to 4.5.2 and then downgraded by ACS to 3.2.7/8 and rooted with safetrap working.
Here are some questions that I'm sure people will be curious about:
- I'm currently on 2.0.2 and root checker says root is enabled, but couldn't find the supersu app. How does it work? Do i need to flash supersu?
- Can you install xposed with modules on this version? For example to mod notifications bar, status bar, power menu, etc.
- can I safely upgrade from the older 2.0.2 to this version?
- what about addons like the dolby digital? I assume its safe to flash too?
- current build.prop ids the device as Nexus HDX and tgere are a lot of apps on play store that are not compatible with the device, but they work just fine installed from another market (say 1mobile). Can we do something about it?
Sorry for so many questions, but i tried reading most stuff from the other thread but for some reason search in thread is disabled (no idea why).
Cheerz!
Awesome, thanks!!!

Correct, yes.

The ROM is pre-rooted with the su binary and a daemon. SuperSU is a root manager so its up to you if want that functionality.
- Can you install xposed with modules on this version? For example to mod notifications bar, status bar, power menu, etc.
Yes you can.
- can I safely upgrade from the older 2.0.2 to this version?
Yes

Yes

No matter how I modify the build.prop, google play store ends up not playing nice. So no not at the moment. Market helper used to work for this problem but seems to but patched now on googles servers.

OK, I updated and flashed all gapps and addons. Everything works!
Then I tried installing Xposed Framework, and on reboot the result was black screen after rom bootup (right after android animation). Waited like 2-3 minutes, but nothing. Then had to force reboot it via power button. After reboot everything works again with Xposed installed. No idea what happened. Any guidelines on where I can check logs probably.
havent tried any module yet, but it would be nice if we keep a list of compatible and safe modules.
Question: can any of the xposed modules trip eFuse or break stock kernel (as rom is running on top of it) or safetrap makes it safe so any changes to system would be just to the slot rom?

Use this verison of Xposed found here.
Try Gravitybox (JB).
I don't know if any of the modules can trigger the efuse. You are correct, in theory Safestrap makes it so that any changes should only occur in that slot.
So far this ROM has been excellent. Great job and thanks a lot!
I have the problem, that there is no Play Store and I can't install downloaded applications. I downloaded applications through the browser and when I try to execute them I get the error "can't open file". So I can literally install no app. I tried to install ES File Explorer and gapps pico.
Anyone else who had this problem or knows how to solve it or has some ideas?

Hi GGow, I'm a complete noob to the scene, have searched around the forums. Finally got Safestrap 3.75 and SuperSU working on my Amazon Kindle Fire HDX that was downgraded to 13.3.2.8 by ACS from 4.5.2. Utilized the TowelRoot method to get rooted.
I want to make sure the installation procedure for this ROM, since I've never done one. Currently I utilized SafeStrap 3.75 and backed up my stock 13.3.2.8 ROM on the device.
The process to install this ROM would be -
1. Flash safestrap-thor-nexus-rom.zip or safestrap-apollo-nexus-rom.zip
2. Flash hdx-nexus-gapps-v1.2.zip
3. Then flash any addons
4. If coming from any other ROM then do a factory reset.
5. Reboot and enjoy.
My only issue is that do I flash all of these roms like the safestrap-thor-nexus-rom.zip onto seperate slots? Or keep re-flashing the same slot? I apologize for my noobness, but I'm really new to Android Dev and rooting.

To add to what @gqukyo said:
1. If you intend for HDX Nexus ROM to be your main ROM and because you are on 13.3.2.8 I would make sure you take a backup of your current stock ROM.
2. Restore the backup to slot 1 . Ensure slot 1 then boots correctly
3. You can then switch back to your stock slot and follow the instructions above.
4. Otherwise if you want stock to be your main ROM then just follow the instructions as they are above after creating a new ROM slot.

Ha! I didn't even think to use the "stock rom" for any custom roms... I don't suppose it really matters does it? I did create the max 16gb for my rom slot though I did hear about people having issues installing games when it complained device didn't have enough space... if it does matter then I'd rather use the stock slot since there doesn't seem to be any other roms to try anyways.

I don't think he ment to replace your stock slot with custom rom.
I was wondering why would i restore stock backup to slot 1? Is this just to verify if backup works? Can i later remove it from slot 1.
It would take too much space to have a stock and slot 1 as stock and then slot 2 for nexus.
Fyi you can safely install Xposed 2.7 experimental and then activate gravitybox, and other aosp modules.

Flashing this ROM will install the STOCK Android 5.0.2 OS From LG & T-Mobile.
This is only intended for use on the LG L90 D415 (T-Mobile Variant)
I've tested and everything works just fine. Just be sure to flash the SuperSU zip I've also provided. otherwise you WILL lose root!
I ASSUME YOU ALREADY HAVE BEEN FLASHING ROMS ON YOUR DEVICE AND ALREADY HAVE A CUSTOM RECOVERY INSTALLED!
I'm currently running a TWRP flashable version of the Official Lollipop update for the D415 L90 Optimus, or as I call it, the LollipOptimus! LOL
Rooted and all!

For this Rom to flash and function properly you need:
An LG Optimus D415 (T-Mobile USA) which has a custom recovery installed.
As far as the boot loader being unlocked.... I never had the LG bootloader to begin with, only fastboot.
The current functioning ROM is FULL stock. You must flash SuperSU before rebooting or you will lose ROOT!
**************INSTRUCTIONS*****************
First download all three files in the next post. they are:
1. ROM Zip (LG/TMO packed by me.)
2. SuperSU update Zip (Mediafire)
3. TWRP.img (shoxxy)
++Ensure you have TWRP installed.++
Then do this:
1. Reboot into TWRP (CWM works too, I reccomend Shoxxys TWRP)
2. Flash ROM
4. Flash SuperSU zip to keep ROOT
5. Factory reset via TWRP
6. Reboot
You're DONE!
It will take several minutes to begin booting, be patient. You MAY see the LG logo for a minimum of 5 minutes, don't freak out!
************************************************** ************************************************** **************************************************
FRIENDLY HEADS UP:
The Stock ROM file is more than 1GB (1.07gb actually) so you'll need to have enough free space on your SDcard.
YES, I reccomend flashing it from the External SD Card.

LollipOptimus™
I have put together a modified version of this ROM. It's the stock OS with many changes..
Debloated and trimmed to where it is as MY daily driver..
It's stable, smooth, and functional. There are many things removed, like the quick memo app and quick remote app, I will not put them back in. You could just trial and error debloat the system on your own, like I did this week..
Anyway, here's the ROM:
https://mega.co.nz/#!B4EEXZxZ!40XcuPjeFMUVcW0TpAOeQwVkuZNNCzs9OtH9V-TJVl4
There will be updates made periodically. It's not fully done yet, IMO.
Make a nandroid before flashing this! Just in case!
Let me know immediately if there are any issues!
I'm so ready for this. I can finally have my camera back.
This is gonna be too good. Thanks for all the legwork so lazy bums like myself can enjoy the goodness.

The Camera works! everything except the baseband for some reason...
I'm going to figure this out.
then provide a link to the ROM and SUPERSU zip to ensure you stay rooted.
I had some problems and the zip I made accidentally flashed the stock boot loader, OH NO!
adb reboot fastboot
then
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
YAY I learned things today!

Currently debloating. I will release debloated with SUPERSU and busybox preinstalled. I'm not going to deodex, I'll leave that to the individual.
This ROM is amazing. LG is really out doing themselves!
As it stands, my ROM is 1.07GB as a zip. I'm timming it down. Hoping to get somewhere nearer to 700mb..

Nope, none of that.
I will say this, @Quarx has a Lollipop CWM recovery if you're worried about recovery compatibility....
I honestly prefer to use the FLAWLESS TWRP from @shoxxy .........I mean, it's simply the best!
I flashed via TWRP with no problems whatsoever/
I flash the ZIP, then SuperSU.zip, then just to be extra safe I reflashed the TWRP.IMG from recovery.
then I rebooted recovery to ensure TWRP was installed.
then simply rebooted the system...
everything worked great so far.
I just want to test it a few more times and make sure I don't kill anyone elses device. I had a WiFi only phone for a good 7hrs. nobody should have to deal with that.
I bricked this device several times today already, i need to ensure everything is working well before I have someone test.
I currently have a few people in mind to test. if they agree and try it out with no problems, it will be free for the taking!
Should I leave it stock with GApps? or remove all the GApps so users can flash their own..?
I say remove all gapps so we can flash our own.
Might give a little bit of freedom for the users. But I don't really care! I wanna try this out!

no, i mean that you are creating flashable 5.0.2, that will be flashing from recovery on 4.4.2 phone аnd after flashing recovery still properly working? It is?
But the official firmware via LG Support tool reflashes boot, aboot, laf, recovery, system folder etc. Does this mean that your firmware flashes only kernel, folders systems and data, but first levels of loading(like aboot) stay from older 4.4.2?

Trying it out right now and it seems snappy. But I am using f2fs version of Xenonhd without the M kernel.

A little "search" goes along ways......

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=23229
"Lightning fast" and "Nexus 7 2012" are not normally used in the same sentence.
Maybe I'll have to give this a try. I've kept mine on stock KitKat, and it's dog slow.
Are you using SuperSU as recommended by ParrotMod, or does it work with Magisk? Thanks.
Edit: To answer my own question, it seems to work fine with Magisk.
so, you have to downgrade the bootloader to use this?
beside that, in the xenonhd thread someone said .. after u install some apps you'll get the same slow down like on every other rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69949425&postcount=1817
I just got myself a new Nexus 7 and all i've done is run the updates up to 5.1 as 5.1.1 fails to install.
It is pretty slow and crashes a lot, I don't remember it being this laggy and slow when I first got one in 2012. Is it just a function of the new OS's or the new apps? What is the best build to be in for speed? I don't mind losing some of the newer features of the OS. Would just prefer something I can use without being frustrated...
Thanks
Sorry to ask this, but can the nexus 7 2012 roms be used on a nexus 7 3g 2012? are they the same? I am new to this model, I am about to buy one (just as ereader), but would like to have the best rom on it.

To use a "Grouper" ROM on the "Tilapia / 3g" device, you just need to flash the Grouper ver of TWRP recovery. Granted, you will not have use of the 3g radio, but otherwise it will function normally.

Thanks. The device comes with 4.2.2 should I flash first 5.1.1 (in order to update radios and stuff) and then root=>recovery=>rom? Or should I just root it in 4.2.2?
If anyone have the older files that I pointed I would appreciate, I will test them and leave my feedback.
I would download the last "official" update from Google for your device (Tilapia I'm assuming), and manually flash the radio and bootloader with fastboot. (Granted, you could install the entire update, but why bother if you're going to put on a custom ROM anyways) Then, unlock the bootloader (if not already done) install TWRP recovery and flash away.
Anyone tested this ROM yet (with a bunch of apps installed to see if slows down or not) ?

I just got myself a new Nexus 7 and all i've done is run the updates up to 5.1 as 5.1.1 fails to install.
It is pretty slow and crashes a lot, I don't remember it being this laggy and slow when I first got one in 2012. Is it just a function of the new OS's or the new apps? What is the best build to be in for speed? I don't mind losing some of the newer features of the OS. Would just prefer something I can use without being frustrated...
Thanks

I have a 2012 Nexus 7 running Resurrection Remix M (Android 6.0.1), and I can say that RootBooster *does* help. My N7 was *very* laggy and slow to respond when tapping on anything. I chose "Basic Mode -- Speed", re-booted and it's a LOT faster now. Time will tell if it lasts.
I've had MultiROM and TWRP on this tablet for quite awhile, so I also have RR-N installed as a secondary ROM. I'm going to try RootBooster on that ROM also.
I have a Nexus 7 2012 wifi model and need it strictly for Chromecast audio to control Pandora and Spotify.
What's the best rom for that?
Don't care for anything else really...
I installed the setup mentioned by the OP on my Nexus 7 2012, and it is working well so far. Thank you OP.
Initially I tried to use the kernel that is included with the XenonHD ROM, but it seemed to have issues with lag, not waking from sleep, etc. Then I switched to M Kernel and it was much better, so switching the kernel is necessary in my opinion.

ParrotMod:
I used the universal version available from the main ParrotMod thread here.

Magisk:
Main thread and downloads here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
My Procedure:
I was starting with stock rooted Android 4.4.4. I had previously used the WugFresh toolkit to root and install twrp. If you have something older or custom, you may need to flash a recent stock rom first to update your bootloader.
1) Update to current version of twrp. I used the twrp app from the play store.
2) Boot into twrp. Factory reset.
3) Boot into Android.
4) Download XenonHD, M Kernel, ParrotMod, and GApps files to PC, transfer to tablet via USB. (or download on tablet)
5) Boot into twrp. Wipe everything except internal storage.
6) Install XenonHD, M Kernel, ParrotMod, GApps
7) Boot into Android. Be patient, first boot takes a while
I also replaced SuperSU with Magisk, because I don't consider recent non-Chainfire versions of SuperSU to be trustworthy. To do this:
1) Download Magisk and Magisk Manager to PC, transfer to tablet via USB. (or download on tablet)
2) Open SuperSU settings, select option to uninstall and prepare for alternate su manager.
3) Reboot to TWRP. Flash Magisk. Wipe cache/davlik (not sure this is necessary). Reboot to Android. IMPORTANT: If twrp says device does not appear to be rooted and prompts you to install SuperSU, you must decline.
4) In Android, install Magisk manager.
Hope this helps someone else.

What was it in your case?
Aosip for Motorola Z2 Force
What is this?
AOSiP is a quality custom ROM based purely on GOOGLE AOSP source since 6.0 release. Twisted with the latest features and blended with stability. We strive for perfection and it shows.
Obligatory Warning: This guide and ROM assumes you know the fundamentals of fastboot, flashing TWRP, and running a flash all. Your warranty is voided because of the unlocked bootloader. This is a Third Party ROM. Things may not work as expected compared to stock (for better or for worse).
Warning 2: If you can't do fastboot commands, do a flash all, root your device or flash TWRP/ROM, please do not ask for help here. If you cannot flash all back to stock, please stay stock for everyone's sake.
Warning 3: if you don't flash the firmware so you are on Oreo on both slots, when you boot after flashing, you'll be on Nougat firmware and have a brick. Try a flash all as that's your only hope on recovering your phone.
How to install
1. Download the latest ROM from here.
2. Prepare your phone for AOSP style ROMs. (download one of the firmwares depending on your model)
Flash the firmware with the .bat file. (See links below or on Post #2)
3. Boot to TWRP
4. Flash TWRP to boot image (with the zip from their website.) Reboot to Newly flashed recovery.
5. Erase oem, data, and system
6. Flash rom like you would any aosp rom, in twrp.
7. Reboot to bootloader
8. run the command "fastboot -w" (this will erase EVERYTHING from your phone, even internal SD, but is needed to have these ROMs work)
9. reboot.
Whats working?
Wifi
RIL
Mobile data
GPS
Camera
Flashlight
Camcorder
Bluetooth
Volte (T-Mobile)
Change quick charge
Fingerprint reader
NFC
Lights
Sound / vibration
Some motomods (soundboost mod doesnt work)
Team Illusion:
Josh Fox (xlxfoxxlx)
Akhil Narang
Sri Harsha (@srisurya95)
Shreesha Murthy
Brett Montague
Known issues
1. WiFi Calling hit and miss
2. Cannot flash Gapps (included temporarily)
3. some Audio recording apps will not have audio recording work (phone functions fine)
4. if you don't fastboot -w, you will not boot.
5. if you don't flash the firmware your bootloader might relock itself and be stuck on Nougat.
6. SElinux is passive (meaning CTS check will always fail until further notice.)

Bug reports:
If you don't flash the firmware and your other slot is nougat, after flashing the ROM, you'll brick. (Custom ROM with a locked nougat slot.) Your only hope is attempting an official flash all and try again after flashing the firmware zip in the posts above.
Fair warning and off-topic: I am okay with some off topic questions. If you have a question, please use the search function. If I have addressed the question before, I will not answer and advise to find it in the thread. I will report the post for a mod to delete along with my response to keep the thread tidy. It seems some users think this ROM has international support. It doesn't and won't unless someone with another variant or an unlocked T-Mobile/Sprint model tests, confirms and debugs for that international carrier. Please keep in mind of what I said below regarding this. I posted this on page 20 or so and copying here for better visibility.
Your SIM is locked. You are trying to run a phone off it's intended network. Please don't post those problems here. It isn't ROM related. Like the thread states. It works for T-Mobile and Sprint only on their respective models on their locked networks. Any other tom foolery isn't supported and must be kept out of the thread. After this it will be considered off topic.
Edit: if you have Sprint or T-Mobile service and run into issues with using your (albeit, expensive) international roaming plan, I will assist with that if it works on stock but not AOSP. If you don't have a sprint or T-Mobile sim, I cannot help. Almost all devs on this device won't be able to help. "Almost" all of us are on US carriers.

@Uzephi is your device on sprint? Data works but LTE does not? Does the Moto Mods support Hot Swapping? This is great progress and can't wait to see more on this phone.

Motomods work with kernel in ROM (hot swapping should as well iirc, I don't use the mods that often where my projector is outdated) LTE doesn't work on Sprint, but 3G and 1xTT works fine.
@Uzephi if we were to flash your kernel, we would lose motomods support?

For now, yes. Still trying to get it work. Clang is being a PITA on my build box, having to go to Linaro which can't build the Motorola Greybus driver correctly.
Thanks sir, I appreciate what you've done for the community, finally can go back to my moto from a GS8+
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but...
Ive never had to install different firmware before on a ROM. If I install this, will it change the process of installing a different ROM in the future?
Thank you.
Sprint varient if it matters by the way.
Edit: I'm sorry for this but is there a way to do this without the .bat file? currently working on OSX

Open the bat file in a text editor and run each of those commands one by one.
This I'd a dual boot device. Your other slot has the older Nougat bootloader. That firmware flashed the current Oreo firmware to both slots. If you don't do that, and you flash one of these ROMs, you'll reboot to your nougat slot, locked and pretty much screwed without a flash all and luck of being able to flash OEM images in oem mode.
Edit: you won't need to flash this any consecutive times until there is another big firmware update like nougat to Oreo was.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've installed the firmware, but now when I boot to TWRP and try to install the ROM, it instantly fails with ERROR:1. Tried redownloading with a different browser but got the same result. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Flash twrp zip to your phone, reboot to your phone's newly flashed twrp recovery and flash the rom. If I remember right, you need to wipe oem and system before flashing the ROM as well. I'll add that shortly.
Up and running! Thank you!! Still looking around but I do see a built in updater. Will this function 100%? By that I mean, when the Sprint LTE issue is resolved and whatever else is coming will be handled by the updater?
Thanks again very excited to play around.

Working fine for me thru Evie Launcher. Soundboost mod is broken though. My SoundBoost is recognized and the notification says the mod is attached, but the volume steps are reduced to on/off and no sound comes out.
Edited to reflect that only the sound boost mod isn't working AFAIK.

Oh, @npjohnson and @invisiblek don't have the sound mod, so they can't get it to work. All of us in the development discord are trying to mail one out, they can't guarantee when it would get fixed.
Edit: added disclaimer to OP. We can only guarantee what we have works. Like when I do my kernel, the only mod I have is the free projector, so that's the only mod I can guarantee works when I do get it working.
I have an extra soundboost I could mail to someone.

Thank you for the separate this from the other pie roms.
I will flash it after I arrive home.
Thank you all for the hard work!
Sent from my kagura using XDA Labs
I'm loving the fact Omnipie is official. I will be flashing this right now. Thank you so much.
Finally flashed! been using it for less than an hour, i can say that its definitely good for daily use. Camera seems better and hasnt crashed yet (like it use to), mic actually picks up audio properly, brightness slider is finally proportional to the brightness level, and its pie
however, the stereo speaker seems to muffle at high volumes (especially with the ringtones and less with youtube, but still a little prevelent), app opening times seem a little longer than 8.1, and 120HZ still doesnt work
im also curious why the linked odm isnt the latest one (im pretty sure the latest is 1st march not feb)
anyways, thanks dev! (may be editing this thread after more use for battery etc)

Ah, your correct it does say 8.1 my bad
opps
I saw this version from delta updater (using 8.1 omni) and immediately downloaded flashed oem for pie and downloaded omni 9 but it stucked new omni animated logo. Waited like 10 minutes but nothing happened then rebooted phone but same thing happened. Should i wait more or something went wrong?
Im here with OmniROM freshly flashed trough Open Delta.
I have some problems. First boot never ends, BUT restart worked for me but I have another problem.
Now I need 10 min to unlock the phone when Im lucky.
I unlock with the code and then its instantly relock and it say I cant use fingerprint for first unlock, so I use code again and not work again and still can't use fingerprint.
I do this A LOT OF TIME before I can use my phone. Sometimes it helps sometimes not if I not unlock my phone but use corner dial icon first and then if its ask for code i use it and then I got SystemUI crash error again and again and again.
As I said I try to repeat this methods for like 10 min after every restart. I tried to delete some maybe not compatible apps with this new update but still nothing. Now I will remove some Magisk modules. I will write again.

you need to do a full wipe before upgrading to p
Just as @oshmoun said; before flashing new ROMs, it's imperative to do full wipe (if you don't want to lose all your data, then do a full backup in TWRP), as flashing without full wiping can cause TONS of problems. Don't be lazy and follow the instructions properly.

I used the same rom before but the last update. I updated through OpenDelta.
Hello !
It's cool to see our XZ is alive !
I have some problems with this rom after a full wipe and update to oem V6 :
- no sounds during calls, no mic, no earphone, no sounds on speaker
- Magisk 18.1 not working
- With official camera app, while using the flash, only the autofocus led is lit, the second and much powerful led is never triggered resulting on dark shots
For now that's all
Thx
Performance is somewhat distressed and the camera does not work for the sound is not working after restarting the device is improving

you cant do that. its pretty misleading having it available on that opendelta ota thingy. you have to follow the instructions in this thread
Flashed data, cache and dalvik, factory reset. And installed latest nightly with gapps and magisk 18.1.
Only reason I did it this way is because I was on a unofficial build on Omni. Everything is working as it should. Very snappy and no lag. Still have to see how the ROM handles after it's settled for a couple day, but right off the bat it's amazing. Thank you very much Dev, and happy to see you back on XDA.

Why this ROM showed up as an update then?
I just don't understand it.
Nevermind this is my main and only phone and I work 4 days straight before I can use my PC so I need to use this ROM buggy for me. :/

You need a PC to flash this. Follow all steps in order and it'll work. Always remember, unless you have a messaging app that backups texts, you will lose them flashing a cfw. Always always backup anything you don't want to lose.

I've had a reoccurring issue on the unofficial and official builds so far. I do not have the option to use my phone when calling unless speaker phone or a Bluetooth headset. I cannot put the phone to my head and use normally. Is there any kind of option to fix this nuisance. Any feedback is truly appreciated
Every 9.0 ROM I ever flash, I always seem to have the same problem. Whether its dirty flashing, or starting with flashtool, to CMD, and then to TWRP, the same problem seems to happen. After the ROM has settled, audio quality through calls becomes a huge problem. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it has been a persistent bug, next chance I get for the next nightly ill send a logcat, kinda cant not since back on stock. I need good call quality for work lol. Either way, thank you for bringing OMNI to 9.0 official
anyone having problems with video playback? videos dont play on instagram, youtube or snapchat. using magisk 18.1 and latest omni 9 rom
