P9 - EMUI 4.1 - Data Management (Package Option Missing)

This is my first Huawei phone but the data management options seem to be missing a the feature:-
1) Setting the date of data renewal
I only have 3GB data monthly and it resets every 7th of the month, but it seems to have locked it either to the beginning of the month or on device activation?
Been browsing the forums and it seems like the feature was present in earlier versions of EMUI but its been removed here? Or does it need to be enabled somewhere in a hidden menu?

I had the same query. I found the answer in another forum post:

Post 4 suggests installing 'Activity Launcher' from the Play Store. This allows you to start the Google version of the traffic management which allows the date to be changed. I tried this last night on my P9 and it seems to have worked. I'll have to wait to the end of the month to be certain though.

I went down that route as well.
Gonna have to wait and see if it works.

just wonder that your device is single or dual sim version?
no such option can be found in EVA-L19 dual sim.

Mine was a dual sim. 'was' cause I now sold it, do difficult to find a root solution for the EVA-DL00

It was a dual sim version. I installed the modified new world ROM and found the option there now

You are lucky that you have this option. I don't have it. Mine is UK version EVA-L09 (3GB RAM). See screenshot attached.
Is there a way to enable this option.

Dual SIM, Dual WhatsApp?

Hi All,
I have order a Oneplus 3T that will be delivered today. Now have the Oneplus 3T a dual SIM option, but can i use WhatsApp two times? By Huawei you can use the option 'app twin' that Huawei have build in his EMUI skin.
With app twin you can use Social media apps: Facebook, twitter and WhatsApp 2 times, so you can use 2 numbers with WhatsApp.
I hope i can use this option (personal number and work number).

use any third party apps bro. They give more option than stock one if it was available.

I personally use a modded version for whatsapp that's working paralle with original with a lot more options and potential privacy and different look settings. google it and you'll find it.

Could you share a link to this APK via PM?
Right now I am using Parallel Space which works perfectly (also notifications) but drains battery. I used to test Island (Play Store BETA-section) which is great but I couldn't get it to properly work in combination with an applock so I switched back to Parallel Space. Maybe you modded APK will do better? Happy to hear from you! Some link would help

It doesn't have all the functions but it's ok for my job sim. If anyone has another better option, please share.

Bugs i found.

Good Morning.
I bought this phone 3 days ago from amazon, i noticed some bugs i want to share. Maybe i'm just a noob but i can't find a solution so i ask for your check.
1. It's impossible to disable WhatsApp notification. Everyone can read msgs' previews even with the phone locked. I didn't test notification from other apps. Just disabled sound and lock screen preview but it still show it.
2. can't turn off touch-disable function. It's impossible to use the phone inside arm-bands. It seems they forgot the otpion in the Smart Assistance menu.
3. FM radio has not the RDS function.
I'm sorry i can't add attachment with system infos but i'm not allowed to do it cause forum policies about new users.

@muse80 i woild recommend you get rid of emui. it got replaced after just 20 hours on my honor 9 lite. fixes all your problems and many more

HI, for notifications I still can't figure out how to set WhatsApp notification only with flashing led, without sounds...
And in the settings I haven't the option to set the touch-disable function... Could you tell me where you found it please?.

Notifications - Do try it Yourself, remember that You have to manage it inside Whatsapp itself as well.
Touch-disable is in smart assistance at the bottom od the screen.

regarding the touch-disable function, this is the smart assistance menu... i can't find it.
Also searching "touch" word in the menu gives no relevant results.

That's the problem with different phone versions.
I do own an Indian/Chinese version 3GB/16GB.
Model LLD-AL10. CUSTC675D3
I do have PRIVATE SPACE, APP TWIN , DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE, touch-disable function. etc
Sadly I do not have an NFC which was one of the reasons I bough't this phone.

I have model LLD-L31... APP TWIN, DOUBLE TAP, but no touch-disable...
I hope honor fix it asap because it's an annoying lack

Demo mode

I've recently purchased a p20 Pro. But it kept having a video pop up... Demo mode. Im on c652 firmware. But I'm not sure what I can do. Any suggestions?

Probably you have demo mode activated.
Enter settings and disable demo mode, just search for "demo" and if it's not there then enable developer options (settings->system->about phone-> multiple taps on build number) and search again.

In shop (not huawei official shop) they told me after some time and with my bootloader code that they cant do that. Maybe they are not so good. Maybe the p20pro is too new?

Removing P20 Pro demo apps without root
Hello,
I had the same problem and it has taken me some time to solve it. Normally Huawei should take care of the issue if the phone is bought from an authorized seller.
In my case (CLT-L29) the phone was already unlocked and rooted. I restored the original firmware where I was blasted with the demo video (P20 Retail Demo) in lock screen and after unlocking the huawei catalog (Explore P20). What I did is I downloaded the "platform-tools" from Android and just ran an adb shell where I uninstalled the com.huawei.retaildemo and the com.huawei.explorep something. Commandlines are:

pm uninstall -k --user 0 <nameofAPKPackage>
If you don't know the name of your apk package, there are various applications which can help you in this regards like App Inspector from UBQSoft.

I used the commands to remove 2 packages and it works, however you will still have the following issues:
- no lockscreen ( that means no fingerprint, pattern, pin, etc )
- battery charges till 75%
- notification in the status bar
- apps mobile data priority revert after a restart
Untill a permanent solution will be found, I am happy to stick to my p20 pro as it is.

Nope, there is no solution. The only solution is to unclock the bootloader and flash normal rom.

For screenlock u can try installing google find my phone. It will activate your passcode and then u can activate fingerpring too
I have other issue with my phone. I cant get mobile data to work

Android auto issue

I have the Mi9 global Version (MIUI 10.2.17) and trying to use Android Auto(V 4.1.590943), but on the Car side, the Waze doesn't work, the car position doesn't change but for example, google maps works fine. The car is Citroen C3 2018 (works fine with other different smartphones like Xiaomi A2 and P10Lite)
Some tips?

You need to change battery saver settings and allow auto start. Also lock the app in recent apps drawer by long holding it and tapping the lock.

It doesn't work anyway. Android auto crash after usb connection and prompt communication error 16. I read in other forum that it happens only when there are two sim inserted. How to work around? I need android auto

Do you use cloned app? remove cloned app e account. You should solve error 16.

Worked with whatsapp business and whatsapp instead of whatsapp and gb whatsapp for second account.
