I had my P9 Plus (VIE-L09C432 B370) boot unlocked, rooted and running twrp recovery. Wanted to reset everything back before I sell it.
Tried to relock bootloader and flash stock rom. But that did not go well.
I can boot into Android, but lots of apps are missing (file manager, keyboard etc) and I can boot into fastboot.
Tried uploading /sdcard/dload/update.app and hold vol up+down + power. But the update process stops as 5% and the phone reboots.
Any tips on how to get the phone back in order?
Try this: boot into android and restore via huawei desktop software.

HiSuite says my device is incompatible when I try to restore when it's in fastboot. When in Android it says it does not need to restore. But now I'm stuck in a messed up B370 which has not keyboard (only google speech) and is missing lots of other apps as well.
What's the latest firmware that it will let me fully reset to (via vol up+down + power) and using sdcard/dload/?
I tried B360 which seemed to work, but it still came up with the messed up B370.
try to downgrade to marshmallow and then update to nougat, it should fix. I had your same issues and I fixed it flashing the "data_full" part of the firmware, but it was something like 10 months ago and I don't remeber the exact procedure and the files I used. If you downgrade to 6.0 iirc you take your p9+ back to stock settings (locked bootloader) and then you can update it to nougat with official huawei firmware via the updater app on the phone.
Could you provide any information on how to do that? The only firmware I've been able to get the updater past 5% is B360 full. Any other stops at 5% when I do the (vol up+down + power and update.app in /dload).
I've tried:
B160 (Marsmallows, fails at 5%)
B170 (Marsmallows, fails at 5%)
B360 (Nougat -> Goes to 100% and reboots, but device is still B370 with missing apps)
B370 (Nougat, fails at 5%)
Ok, so: download this https://mega.nz/#!wswElLwA!qhafrd_13kW8RjYUEjIXT2lxVEgh1DtjUF-DgzuzqlE
And this https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533103863142914
Now, put the update.app that you find in the first rar in your dload folder on the SD. It must be the only file in the folder.
Dload your phone (vol+, vol-, power). Do this twice.
Boot your phone and check the serial number, it should be l09c900b300.
Power off the phone, replace the update.app in dload folder with the that you find in the secondo download link.
Dload the phone again and boot it, now you should be on emui 4.1 fw b103 with locked bootloader and valid warranty.
You can update the phone to nougat with stock updater if you want. I'm on mobile, so if the post is bad formatted well, sorry, I'll fix it when I can access a pc.
That's for the C900, I've got a C432. Won't that be an issue?
Files are for c432, mid procedure you get c900 cust which is the generic one.. after you flash the firmware (second file dload) you are back on c432

Recently I tried out the Nougat preview on my EVA-L09C636. It was ok but seeing as there was a problem with fonts and I'd lost root access, I began thinking about going back to MM.
To prepare for downgrade I tried using srktool to bring TWRP back (and I think this is my big mistake as srktool uses a TWRP made for MM, not N, is that right?). After I tried to restore TWRP I noticed "not recognised" errors when I connected my phone to PC again.
System recovery using hajuuk's Firmware Updater and HiSuite looked like it would complete but near the end of the process (the restoring system part) HiSuite aborted itself saying my device wasn't supported. This has left my P9 is in an unusable state where the only thing I can access is fastboot. Also I can't turn off my phone - holding down power simply makes it reboot then get stuck at the "Your device ... can't be trusted / Your device is booting now" screen.
Reading around a bit I attempted to unbrick it without any luck:
1. downloaded EVA-L09C636B152 update.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586 and installed Snoop05's 15 seconds ADB Installer.
2. extracted images from update.zip using Huawei Update Extractor and did
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
then tried rebooting holding volume up + power several times (but never got past untrusted device boot screen).
3. extracted contents of update.zip to folder 'dload' on a blank sd card, trying to force update several times by rebooting and holding down power + volume up + volume down (still never get past the screen saying my device is booting).
At this point I'd be happy to get anything happening on my phone - Marshmallow, Nougat or even some other ROM so I can use my device again.
Any ideas? I'm on EVA-L09 C636.

Hi! I'm not sure how to wipe data, cache or dalvik, because when I upgraded to Nougat this apparently removed TWRP.
Also I'm wondering if trying to use srktool to reinstall TWRP for 6.0 might have corrupted my 7.0 phone?
Is there any way to wipe data, cache, and/or dalvik now? Or are there other things I could try to unbrick?
Although my phone was in a pretty bizarre state - it would get hot and sit on the booting now screen until battery died - I was able to use DC Phoenix to make it boot up again. At that point it had no themes and only KitKat-esque icons. A reset and upgrade later icons and themes work and I'm back on stock Marshmallow. Here's an outline:
1. Google "Huawei Bricked phone repair guide with DC Phoenix", go to the first result and look at the instructions (I can't post URLs yet).
I used Method 1. But note! The newer versions of DC Phoenix are missing a feature that the instructions make clear you have to use. To get the original version used in their guide, you have to download the latest version of DC Phoenix, open it on your PC, then click "Enter Support Area" which logs you in to a download section. Find "DC Unlocker Softwares", "DC_Phoenix", then download DC_Phoenix_v14.rar and run that instead. Whether it's Method 1 or 2 make sure you complete it - i.e. the fastboot flash step AND a step they call "flashing in upgrade mode."
(Also note that for DC Phoenix you want to feed it the oldest version of firmware available for your phone, in my case b152. This is because themes and icons won't be fixed until it receives the next version of firmware as an update.)
2. Once I did the fastboot and upgrade flash, I did a system reset from the Settings app trying to get themes and current icons again. (This didn't work but doesn't do any harm or might have helped somehow further down the line).
3. I used hajuuk's Firmware Updater and HiSuite to upgrade to the next version of firmware available (in my case b168).
3. All fine and your phone is back to stock - icons look nice again and local themes are back. To get the original icons layout, go to Recents, hold down on the Trash Icon, show system apps, and Clear Data for Huawei Home.

Hello, I am currently running B361 on my L09C432 phone. I want to go back to Android 6.0 (for example to B182 or earlier, does't matter), but I don't know how.
I found (extremely hard) a B180 update.app, but when I put it in the "dload" folder and rebooted with "Vol +; Vol -; Power" keys the phone said that the update is corrupted and I can't install it.
Any ideas how can I go back to Android 6 ?
P.S.: Btw I did the C900B300 update that allows you to revert to Andorid 6, but sill doesn't let me install a B180 update.
In this URL http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91663&version=357998&siteCode=my you can download the downgrade file and instructions to do it.
Hello,
I was on OpenKirin's RROS- V5.8.3 (before that I was on C432B386, then Bluwei 3.90, then RROS) I wanted to go back on a stock firmware to get back the stock camera and regain acces to Snapchat, witch was blocked by root even with Magisk Hide, so I downloaded the rollback package L09C900B300 from official Huawei site and tried the dload method.
Doing things too fast I think, cause now I'm stuck on a bootloop, tried all the things with vol up + power on, vol down + power and vol up + vol down + powe.
Still stuck with a bootloop (Huawei Logo - Your device has been unlocked.... - reboot ), I can't even stop the phone.. All I want to do now is to get back to a clean stock version..
Is there any way for me to get it back to work?
Edit : I just successfully boot it into fastboot mode, I will let it like that for now so it stops rebooting..
Edit 2 : Losing patience, I did dumb things, tried to reinstall stock recovery via SRKTools and TWRP via P9 Tools, can't boot in anyone either... I think I killed my phone...
I have just flashed the same package and have also bricked my phone.

In the tool, I can only select C432 B161, B166, B167 and B170, I cannot add any externally downloaded zip.
I'm trying to install B170 this way but for now Hisuit just loads in loops. Wait and see ^^

I couldn't use this method due to HiSuite always crashing with the tool..
I finally managed to instal twrp via fastboot, then put the dloadfiles for the rollback package, I installed them, than I had to reinstall twrp again to put B182 in the dload folder.
It updated, but now I'm stuck with a black screen..
EDIT :I just had to do a hard reset and wipe cache via the stock recovery and now all is ok, official B383 with locked bootloader.
Thank you !
(Excuse me but how can I edit the title to mark it as RESOLVED)
Hello,
I am previously a Sony Xperia user. Rooting is not my first time. However, since i got a Hauwei P9 (EVA L19), I messed up with the rooting process and thereby acquired such issues with the phone.
History:
I accidentally used a SRK tool by some thai developer for huawei. I didn't realize it was only for MM versions. I followed the instructions there and managed to unlock my bootloader. However, during the installation of the TWRP, it replied some error so I read some more articles and found the right version for it which is the 3.1.0. So, I was able to install TWRP using fastboot. After that, since i can't get my phone rooted, i tried several ways (which so badly i couldn't remember, sorry) but still it's not successful. I then decided to flash back the stock ROM for B386 (latest nougat OTA) via fastboot. I flashed the BOOT, SYSTEM and RECOVERY. So far it went well, but the time it booted, i realized my stock apps like Camera, themes, Alarm clock were missing! so i panicked and tried to reboot many times. I also wiped cache/dalvik but to no avail. Then i decided to wipe everything including the system and boot. There it messaged from the TWRP "No OS" something. so again, I flashed B386. It flashed but again my stock apps were missing. the same result when flashed with B361 and B381. It seems like my settings remain intact and unchanged no matter how i flash the stock firmwares.
the next time i flashed a firmware, it says "data partition is seriously damaged... restore to factory setting..." i did reset it but still it doesnt make any change. So now i realize that my security settings are fcked up too. I cant open the developer options to enable usb debugging. I cant open the security tab under advanced setttings. Theyre all just gonna exit after tapping on them.
Question:
Would it be possible that my data partition is corrupted? because no matter how i install firmware, it always goes back to its "original setting" (no stock camera, themes etc etc)
is there a way to recreate the data partition? wipe all of its contents so i can rewrite from stock firmware? it seems like the system wont let me write over it.
Present status:
So far, the phone is okay with calls, txts and games (i need to download apps from playstore as i cant install backups since i cannot enable "install from unknown sources" in security setting. I can access the cam via messenger or any app. wifi and bluetooth still works.
but i really really want to get back the stock apps like the camera.
please help. im really running our of idea here. any comment would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
Go to this thread:
https://www.google.it/amp/s/forum.x...i-p9-eva-l19-android-7-0-nougat-t3532649/amp/
Download both files and flash them either via TWRP or dload.
Dload:
1. Put your sd card in your computer and create a folder in the root of the sd card called dload
2.unzip the archive. You will find some files
3. Copy the file called UPDATE.APP into the dload folder
4. Put the sdcard back in your phone and turn it of.
5. Hold volume up, volume down and power at the same time. The phone should boot and install the firmware.
6. Repeate the steps with the other zip file
TWRP
1. Copy both zip files on your phone
2. Turn of your phone
3. Hold volume up and power. You should boot into TWRP
4. Press install and select your file, when finished install the other one to
5. The device should boot
If this didn't work try to rollback to marshmallow via dload and then update to nougat over OTA.

I tried this but it didnt work. do you have any other solution?
The dload / 3 Button method doesn't work any more. Here is what worked for me:
For anyone pretty much, who has ****ed up his Huawei P9:
I got to the state where I could only enter Fastboot mode (Press vol- and connect power cable). When I tried to start the phone / go into recovery it would only display the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" Message. My mistake was to relock the bootloader in an attempt to get the recovery to work.
I looked for hours for the answer, here is what worked for me:
follow this tutorial (the "update firmware" part)
German
English
But with real precision, every step.
If you have a european unbranded L09 you should be fine using the firmware you can find on this site:
https://thedroidguru.com/download-install-huawei-p9-b394-nougat-update-europe/
if not you gotta find the full firmware (3 files!!) yourself - good luck!
If you only want to go back to stock you should be fine afterwards.
If you want to install twrp for root/custom rom/... follow these steps after installing twrp with the tool:
Upon flashing TWRP, FIRST THING YOU MUST DO is rebooting to TWRP. If you don't do that, stock Recovery will ovewrite TWRP.
Find instructions in the TWRP threads how to enforce immediate booting to TWRP, upon you flashed it:
-Type on the PC: fastboot reboot -but don't press Enter yet.
-Press and keep pressing Vol+ and Power buttons together on the phone
-Press Enter on the PC and then immediately unplug USB cabel.
-When phone shows Booting, release Power but keep pressing Vol+. button
Hope this helps, I don't take responsability for anything, happy flashing!

DLOAD does not work for half a year, ie since Huawei stopped releasing FullOTA-MF-PV builds (it worked only for them)
Here, on XDA there are two proven guides for recovering Nougat (not just for EU c432 but for all custs, not only for P9 L09 but also for L19, L29) - just search for them: HWOTA7, HuRUpdater
PS: You have crossposted the same to several threads
Hi all, here are my phone specs currently:
EVA L19
C636 B393
EMUI 5.0.1
Android 7.0
bootloader unlocked
magisk installed
The phone has been great for the past year, but yesterday I did a factory reset (maybe bad move, should have done TWRP wipe) and there are no essential apps anymore like camera, calendar, and the rest.
I've been scouring the forums looking for a solution but most of the download links are dead.
Tried to do an update via HiSuite but nothing happened after installing.
Any other ideas? I don't want to install a custom ROM as I prefer the stock camera app.
Thanks!

Try deleting Dalwik and Cache from TWRP or deleting Cache from eRecovery (switch off, connect to charger!!!, press and keep pressing Vol+, boot by Pow)
You could also try again Factory reset immediately followed by Wipe cache - both from eRecovery
There is also an option in eRecovery: Install latest firmware, you can try but not sure would it work since Huawei apparently removed P9 firmwares from their servers
Otherwise, you would need to find (it was easy in the past when FirmwareFinder worked), download and reinstall your EVA-L19c636 b393 (or newer)
Hey there, factory reset from both phone and TWRP didn't work. eRecovery can't find package info too.
So I downloaded the firmware now and put the dload folder on my SD card but I can't force it to update. When I press the vol keys +- and power, it just says "your phone is unlocked and can't be trusted etc..." and then just boots normally. I can't access ProjectMenu using the *#*# codes either.
Any other ideas how to flash this firmware?

Unfortunately, no other idea but try to find DLOAD package.
Several other users asked similarly, pleas see the other recent posts here for P9 - but generally, it will be hard because Huaweu removed firmwares from their server.
See in those other threads/posts for alternative catalogs.
Unfortunately, c636 is relatively rare, consider rebranding to c432 - and again, look to thoso other threads, recent questions and answers
That's where I'm stuck though... even if I have the firmware I can't force update it by the button method of the secret codes method...
I'll try to flash via fastboot and hopefully it works.
Update: got the C636 firmware and the flashing steps here:
