Flashing Note 5 N920A...CSC file? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm flashing my Note 5 to 7.0 from 6.0.1 and I'm having an issue with the HOME_CSC and CSC. I want to keep my data so I've read that you're suppose to use the HOME_CSC but none of the firmware zip files ever have that inside. I read on a few sites that I could just leave the CSC part in Odin blank. I want to see if anyone knows what would happen if I were to not use CSC at all if I can't find the HOME_CSC file??

[Bell] Can I use a 2.1 CSC with for JPY?

I have a JH2 bell CSC file that I wish to flash to my JPY rom. Is this possible or do I need a 2.2 CSC file?
Can I just use Odin and flash only the CSC?
I did something similiar, info will tell you CSC "unknown" but my phone still worked!
Don't need to. In the past u need correct csc to get correct 3g frequency. Not necessary anymore. If u check phone info it will say csc unknown as it doesn't install it when u get that error. Recommend you go back and flash a complete jpy and change the csc to xeu after reboot . A missing csc can Cause all sorts of problems.

So how do I change this back? Do I just do the *#272*IMEI# and choose my product code, or do I have to flash a csc through ODIN?
Need to reflash entire jpy again with csc. Then put in code to change to xeu. Then flash modem separately

How to flashed stock XXJVT with Odin?

Hi guys, just purchased a new SGS from the store, it is still on Froyo though, I wish to upgrade it to GB with Odin, and I've finished downloaded XXJVT firmware from
http://www.sammobile.com/showthread.php?t=17
after I extract them, I got these:
CODE_I9000XXJVT_CL617736_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
s1_odin_20100512.pit
I know that PIT file is for PIT slot, user_low_ship is for PDA, Modem is for Phone slot, but as you can see there, there are 2 CSC files, CSC Multi and CSC Home-Multi, which one should I choose? and is there any extra steps before I flash them with Odin? any help is appreciated!
In upgrading firmware from Froyo to GB you need to upgrade bootloader as well. But before that, check whether your phone can enter "download mode" or not.
If can, then find gingerbread bootloader. You can search it here in XDA, or you can search [Ramad] stock ROM. He always provide the package that include bootloader. I'm not sure about the above firmware.
I read it somewhere that the bootloader is already included in GB, isnt it?

Um, thats because you need to unzip them using WinRar...
The tar.md5 files are inside the individual zip files.
thanks!

So It is compatible with the G935T, my next question is if Flashing different carrier firmware effects the LTE bands you can access. does the SoC support all bands based on the ROM or is it a hardware change that effects them?
Thank you... these files just saved me from a brick...No idea what happened but I was stuck at the Samsung AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge screen and factory reset would not work
Any success with just flashing the CSC with the U firmware? I was able to get volte with a corrected xml file but curious if I can mix and match and get more of the atnt features.
worked flawlessly heading back to stock.
i was rooted with the 935U PG9 code - dont have to do anything special. follow steps in ODIN (i also hit the repartition checkbox) and you're back to stock.
if you want to remove the unlock icon on the start up screen, complete odin, let it boot up to welcome screen, then factory reset and it's back to like you bought it.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
I have been stuck at one of the early firmwares beause of a broken ota to my phone. I had just flashed this and i love it. The only problem is that the moment my phone booted up, i was greeted with a message saying, [ATTENTION The Fingerprint sensor is not responding. Try Again Later] Ive googled so much and none of the "fixes" workes. Before you ask, yes i have flashed stock, yes i factory reset, multiple times for both. Please help i want to use my fingerprint sensor again!!!!:crying:
Okay question?
I tried flashing the "U" variant back to a Tmobile G935T Rev 4 PI3 S7 Edge and it errors out halfway through the AP part. All other 3 files will flash though. Why can't I flash it back to the "U" firmware after the Att and Tmobile variants are on Rev 4? The G935U and G930U are both on Rev 4 now too. I'm curious why it won't let me flash that variant anymore. It's not a big deal but personally I think the "U" firmware runs the best out of all of them. If I get a Sprint S7 or S7 Edge I always unlock first then flash to the "U" firmware never to think about taking it back to Sprint firmware. Lol
Plus Sprint is the only one still on Rev 2 Bootloader. So can anyone tell me why the G935A or G935T won't flash back to G935U even though they are both on the same Rev 4?

They will. I've gone back from v4 At&t to v4 U. Something in your setup (phone, cable, pc, files, Odin version) is stopping you.
It's something in the AP checking while flashing it. Try going from G935U Rev 4 back to G935A and watch it error out. Lol
Can someone please help me? I have a g930a and need the PI2 files asap!

help with changing my csc

Hello
Here's the story
I have a note 5 n920c my original csc code was mid (iraq)
I installed the ( MinotaurusRom V10 ) rom
I didnt have issues with it but i wanted to go back to stock
So i did that but the issue is i now have the (xsg) country code (united Arab Emirates)
And i tried all kind of roms
Is there a way to get back my original csc code .
""( Smart switch doesn't work for my phone .. it says . N920c doesnt support initialization)""
Thanks .:crying:
You can factory restore using Kies, instead of Smart Switch.
Do an Emergency Firmware restore. That will make everything as factory.

But kies doesnt support it
I tried kies and it says it doesnt supprt
download the latest rom of XSG for N920c & install it with odin software
Follow this guide. https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/how-to-csc-stock-rom-base-t3135511/page4
You'll have to edit the zip to fit your country's CSC code manually, but this is probably the best method to change CSC without wiping your internal storage. It's what I do whenever I flash a custom ROM that changes my CSC.
Do note that you have to flash the zip DIRECTLY after a clean flash of the custom ROM or else the CSC will not change. Or you could flash the zip and then do a factory reset in twrp (or is it the other way around? I can remember. Just experiment around it.)
Good luck
Edit: or if you do want to wipe your internal storage along, you could download the PhoneInfo app from play store and change your CSC from there.
Edit 2: from my personal experience, for some reason the default CSC in the N9208 Malaysia XME stock ROM is the Philippines CSC. So what I did was I went inside XME folder which is inside the CSC folder which is inside the zip file, and copied all the files there and replaced the files in /CSC (basically outside of the XME folder). If the same thing happens to you this may help as well. Also check the .xml file and make sure that it shows the right CSC for you.
Edit 3: also this belongs in the Q&A forum, mods please move this.

The one file as in the .tar.md5 file? If so rename it to .tar, then you can extract the files inside. After that follow the link I gave to extract the cache.img which contains the CSC folder.

Uhh, you'll have to do some research on that as I don't have any experience in tarballing stock ROMs. I've seen some guides somewhere to tarball stock ROM.

how to revert back to bql1

i have a t-mobile samsung galaxy s8 stock not rooted. i read that someone had leaked the official oreo build for this phone so i ended up side loading it only to find out it was not official build but a beta build. so now im trying to figure out what i need to do to revert back to bql1. i have downloaded odin3 v3.12.7 and downloaded the bql1 files but not too sure on how to use odin. will using odin void my warranty? and what files do i need to use in odin? i see other instructions to use AP, BL, CP, and the CSC_OYN but not the HOME_CSC_OYN and nothing for the user data file. whats the difference in those files and why not use the HOME_CSC_OYN? thanks for the help!!
