I cannot reset or change my icon pack, I have already uninstalled the icon pack I was using, and they are still being used, how? I have already rebooted and cleared cache. any idea how to reset my icon pack back to system default?? I do not want to factory reset, this should be a simple thing to do, but it's not...
Any ideas?
If you are using stock launcher. Got to settings>apps>OnePlus Launcher. Then click on clear data and cache. This might solve your problem

Hi all,
I have the Note(1) with stock Vodafone (AU) ICS 4.0.4.
With the search function from the home or launcher screen (press and hold the menu button), as soon as I type the first letter, the search progress animation starts to appear and spin, however very often this takes like 5-10 seconds, before the animation stops, and it shows no results (even though there should be).
If I then clear the search and start typing again, it will show me correct results.
I only have "Apps" checked for the "Searchable items" in the search settings.
Is this a known ICS bug? Has anyone got this problem? Any solutions?
Thanks!
Haven't heard of this issue before and don't have it myself.
You could try clearing the cache and data of the search bar in manage applications, then reboot, wipe dalvik cache and cache if you're on a safe kernel, then reboot, see if that clears it.

Thanks. The problem comes and goes. I have tried clearing the data of Google Search but the issue still comes back.
My device isn't rooted so I cannot clear the dalvik cache right?

Yes that's right, you can just clear cache in recovery.

I gave my Exhibit 2 4G to my wife and need to do a factory data reset to remove all of my contacts, etc. I have tried several times (Settings-Privacy-Factory Data Reset) and a screen appears saying that the reset is taking place and the small blue icon starts spinning. But, nothing happens. I let it stay that way for over a half hour once and it just kept going. The phone is rooted with cwm.6012.t679 and has Peach Sunsrise ROM installed. Any help out there?
yea go to cwm and do a factory data reset from there

I realized I could do that right after I posted. It worked fine. Thanks.
I've tried searching around threads for similar problems but I couldn't find something quite exact like mine.
Well I'm running a Jellybeer rom now and before that I was running CM9 and then AOSP beerbong rom.. This problem I noticed when I was switching from the AOSP rom to the AOKP rom by the same developer. I followed all The instructions, did factory wipes etc. And then once on the jellybeer rom I just did the cache wipes as required for rom updates. I am also using titanium backup pro to back up and restore the "user apps with data". The problem is :
Every time I reboot my phone:
1)launcher is set to stock.
2) when I activate the nova launcher the widgets have to be restored.
3) lock screen widgets are gone.
4) SwiftKey 3 dictionary has to be updated or it doesn't recognise the old one.
5) randomly during the startup i get this random vertical black bar towards the right or left of the screen for a second or two and it seems to be like a glitch. I've got the soft keys / navigation bar enabled. Before when then rom had transparent soft keys, they would become opaque after this glitch appeared.
6) accessibility options like notifier pro and dash clock are also reset to "off " after reboot but once I enable one of them all of them come Back on as well.
I have tried clearing logs and caches with "sd maid" and I thought It was a bug in the rom, but after many updates, this is still there. No one seems to be having the same problem as me in the rom development thread.
There was this one time when my phone crashed and showed the roms booting screen and once the system was loading, it looked like how the phone is supposed to boot up with all my widgets, launcher, dictionary etc.
This is quite frustrating as every reboot I have to reconfigure my phone partially.

Thanks, for now it seems to be normal. Only I see that black bar on boot. That could be something to do with the rom, I will be moving this to the solved section for now.
If anyone is interested, I backed up my user apps using guide which is linked above and then I proceeded with the factory wipe and then I restored my apps and made sure the main apps that were restarting were kept on the internal memory.
Thanks once again for helping me solve my issues. It's what a relief to reboot without having the headache of setting everything again. Even SwiftKey is working fine. Even though I'm using the older version of it.

I'm currently running a stock deodex ROM and was messing around with OMJ's Modpack. It froze on me a couple times and when it worked, the mods that I selected were 7 icon on dock and lower brightness tweak. After flashing that, my lockscreen shortcuts seem to have disappeared even though my the icons are present in the dock in unlocked mode. I've tried removing and re-adding the icons but have not had success.
I didn't make a nandroid, but have tried to adb push the original framework.res.apk, idlelockscreen.apk, and prism.apk and it still doesn't show up. I also tried clearing cache/dalvik cache. I'd like to avoid hard reset if possible. Any suggestions on what would modify this?
You can just reflash the ROM without wiping data and they will come back.

I actually just decided to wipe Prism.apk data, which seemed to did the trick. I have to setup my desktop again, but it's better than setting up everything.
I have Android 10 with 2.0 UI.
Have we lost the ability to move the brightness bar to the navigation? There use to be an option for it right under the adaptive brightness option, but on mine, it's not there anymore.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode. If that doesn't work, backup your device and perform a Hard Factory reset.

I'll try the wipe in recovery mode, as I just did a factory reset last Sunday, and it was in the notification bar then.
I just recently did a factory reset about 10 days ago, and I think that's when the ability to move it disappeared. I also tried clearing the cache in recovery, and that didn't help either.
