I usually use snapchat version 9.39.5.0 which works with snapprefs version 2.1.0. The other day, i experienced an error that says "unfortunately snapchat has stopped" whenever i opened the app. And later found the solution to it was to install the latest version of snap from app store, use it for some while, back it up using titanium backup, clear its data, uninstall it..and then install the version of snapchat that work with snapreffs, and open titanium backup, and restore data only form the backup i made from their latest version. That worked very well...But after some a month, the same problem of snapchat stopping to work persisted again.. I used the same method i used with titanium backup, but this time it isnt working anymore. Can anyone pls tell me any more solutions, or the actual cause?

I have those versions of the apps on Nougat and they work well. Snapchat always installed from backups.
There was some tips in the Snapprefs thread that have worked for me.
In Snapprefs I unchecked the options to integrate with SC and the other that says to restart SC on preference change. Then go to the filters and let them load/download. Scrolling up to make sure they all come in. Then reboot.
Snapchat should then work okay.
Maybe clear cache (not data) of Snapchat beforehand as it accumulates a lot of stuff and may contribute to bad behavior.
Sometimes there are server-side issues that cause SC to not work. That happened recently and a lot of folks thought it was end of days for this old version.

I even flashed my phone and tried to install that old version of snap which works with snapprefs v 2.1.0, but it kept saying it has stopped working..even without root or a tweak, and later, i tried to just root my phone without installing snapprefs...and use titanium backup to backup and restore the app's data only, but it kept giving the same error...could this be the end of this old version?
I hope not but it looks like our days are numbered.
There is another utility out there called SnapTools that does some of what Snapprefs does. Haven't tried it yet. I think it's a pay product.

I know it, but i hate the fact that you have to pay for it, and it contains less features..thats why i still prefer snapprefs...is there ant way i can get this old version of snap to work again?

Hi everyone,
I've been using cm9 builds since few months now so I have tried almost all of them, but the one mentioned in the topic is the best one for me.
Unfortunately I have one issue with it. It doesn't want to restore AutomateIt app with titanium backup, I can't flash the app from apk file and when I look for it in Play Store, it doesn't find it. I don't know what happened but I've been using this app for over two years now and never had any issues with it. I've also tried Tasker but also can't install it from apk.
When trying to install any of those apps it says that the app isn't installed. I tried reflashing the ROM worth and without full wipe but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve the problem or has any alternatives for mentioned apps?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my P990 powered by CM9
AutomateIt is no different from any other app in that sense and it should be restored using Titanium Backup.
Just a wild guess, but since you just reflashed your ROM, could it be that you don't have Google Apps installed ? If so, that might be the reason you can't install it or find it on the market (AutomateIt depends on the Google Maps API for its location trigger).
Yes I know it's no different than any other app but it doesn't work. I got gapps installed and had no issues with restoring almost 50 apps from backup except this one.
As I said, it always worked on any other ROM I used, and I flashed a lot of them.
The problem is that even if I look for it in play store it doesn't find it at all.

You've done the impossible! Thanks so much for all the work and sharing it!

Glad to report it works, thank you sooo much :good:

Working well on the N6!
Proceed with caution guys! Already in bootloop city (totally prepared and exiting it now, expected as much) Just letting everyone know for those of you who are excited about this - this is NOT Xposed like you are used to, not yet as modules have not had any possible chance to catch up. If you are not ready for serious bootloops, stay away from this for now lol

Framework isn't causing bootloops. but many modules it seems do as obviously none have updated to 5.1 given the nature of this release being super alpha as well as unofficial. The framework itself, the part romracer hs given us here, appears to be running well - just wanted to warn users who have been waiting (im)patiently on Xposed for 5.1 that you can't just jump back into modules.. bootloops on bootloops here experimenting

I would specify but I've been bootlooping since this was released messing with File Manager in TWRP and then when I could get into boot looking at Xposed logs for fatal errors.. all I could see between bootloops is that Youtube AdAway causes fatal errors (not the one giving me bootloops though - I was able to uninistall before the bootlooping got to where I couldn't ever boot and had to restore). Also, I can confirm Always Correct! causes keyboard to FC non-stop and renders it unusable. I am not sure which module caused Play Store not to open and which caused bootloops, probably multiple. I thought I'd be able to spend more time booted and so I loaded a few modules after I took a backup and decided to mess with the Xposed logs and TWRP file manager like I mentioned, but bootloops were more than I anticipated so I just restored a backup and installed Framework for now.
Edit:Apparently 4/4 Banks gapps I updated with this cause Play Store FCs. My luck I'd upate extremely stable gapps, update SuperSU, backup, flash a super alpha and have issues with the gapps. Let's try this again...
Now it is time to test and embrace the bootloops!
Anyone found any modules working thus far, or will EVERYTHING need updaed to 5.1? I tried a module that still worked from KitKat when Xposed upgraded to Lollipop without upgrading bu it doesn't work now.. not sure what to make of that. Nothing else I've tried works either, but that not working (Always Correct!) seemed notable to me for that reason. Curious if anyone else is having any luck - no issues with framework I can see and logs appear to be running normally FWIW.

When you flash the framework do the modules auto enable? I got a bootloop but I don't think its from the framework

Has YouTube AdAway been updated already somehow? It was the app giving me fatal errors in my logs earlier when I was getting bootloops and FCs. On Nexus 6 here, Benzo ROM Hydra Kernel
Great news.
@romracer
Thank you for Xposed for 5.1
Tested modules:
GravityBox LP - bootloop (bootloop solution, delete com.ceco.gravitybox folder from /data/app/ via TWRP)
Play Store Changelog - Play Store 5.4.10 FC's (delete app data does not help as on Android 5.0.2)
Xposed GEL Settings - bootloop (bootloop solution, delete de.theknut.xposedgelsettings folder from /data/app/ via TWRP)
BurnToast - OK
CrappaLinks - OK
Lolistat - OK
Does anyone know if Amplify module works? I won't be able to install the 5.1 xposed version, but I shall soon
btw @romracer, I believe you mentioned in the xposed github that you have a Moto X 2014. I do too, so I can presume that xposed will work on the device?
I had disabled all modules from the the Xposed Installer before flashing, yet for some reason when I flashed I got stuck in a bootloop caused by trying to load some long ago enabled modules.
I forgot to make a copy of the logs, so what I wanted to say is that you can delete/rename /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list to get out of bootloops caused by modules.
Obviously, this won't help if the framework itself isn't compatible with your ROM/device.
Working:
- Lolistat
- OGXposed (To login with OGYouTube)
- Advanced Power Menu
- YouTube Adaway
- Crappalinks
- Burntoast
- Maxlock
- MinMinGuard
Not working:
- Xposed Gel Settings
- GravityBox
- Amplify
- AcDisplay
All i know for now.

In this thread I will explain you how to downgrade to snapchat v9.3.1.0 so you can use snapprefs again[ROOT].
Requirements:
- Latest snapchat version installed
- snapchat 9.3.1.0.apk
- Titanium Backup
- Xposed installer
1. Make sure you have logged in to your latest snapchat version.
2. Open up Titanium Backup and go to Backup/Restore > Snapchat > and Click Backup !
3. Now got to your currently installed snapchat APP info and click clear data and then uninstall it.
4. Now install snapchat 9.3.1.0.apkAfter install is complete DO NOT OPEN SNAPCHAT!!!
5. go back to Titanium Backup and go to Backup/Restore > Snapchat > Restore > MAKE SURE YOU CLICK "DATA ONLY"
6. Just download xposed installer and snapprefs and you will be ready to go!
Great
This guide worked great for me! Thanks mate for this.
I dont really understand the backup part. Why då you need to backup? It's just to uninstall and install and done?

Because you can use a older version of snapchat if you are already use it but you can't log in
I kind of do it in reverse. I have a backup of Snapchat 9.3.1.0 in Titanium and using the 9.7.0.0 apk to install snapchat. So...
- Install latest Snapchat from either playstore or grab the apk from apkmirror
- Login to snapchat
- Open titanium and restore ONLY APP for Snapchat 9.3.1.0
Obviously latest xposed unofficial and snapprefs are installed and working properly too. Either method seems to work though.
I did it both ways and cant get it to work
thanks i really needed this!

Are you sure xposed is installed and working properly? What rom and device are you using? I noticed when I flash some roms I tend to have issues with SELinux (enforcing vs permissive) or it seems maybe some roms are so heavily optimized with all these wacky unnecessary toolchains that xposed just doesnt work at all on it.
Lol I was actually about to post again. I got it working. Stock rom BTW

Just download the latest version, log into it and make a back up. Then delete the latest version. And install the old version and restore your made back up.

Or use the Xinstaller Xposed module and just install the 9.3.1.0 apk over the latest after you logged in, no need for Titanium Backup.

Everything works on 1.4.2, and many don't like what Snapchat has done to the app as far as changes go.
For sharing, the latest 1.4.5 works fine sharing images from your gallery to your story or to individuals.

Hey Guys, im currently trying to get Snapchat working on my Desire HD with MIUI. I have Android 2.3.7.
I want to try this method but i cant download the latest app version because my device doesn't support it.
Could somebody may create a new accound, backup the data with Titanium and maybe upload it somewhere? I don't know what else i could do.
I'm on Miui8. I tried this method. Everything was going good. But at last when I restored the data, snapchat automatically logged me out of it.

Before Xposed for nougat was official I used the unofficial Xposed by purifyos and had the module "enable ambient display"
it works very fine with the xposed of purifyos but not with the official Xposed. is It possible to fix this ?
I rebooted a few times and also installed the module again and I'm sure that it dont works with the official Xposed.
Same is happening with amplify.

You can also add "UNICON".
It's was fully working with the experimental version but partially with the official.
By partially I mean that the already applied icon theme stood, but whenever I open unicon it asks you to activate it even if it's already activated.
All my modules aren't working with Xposed 7.0 SDK 24 v88 right now. I did a clean install and modules like Amplify and Greenify, etc aren't working but Xposed Installer says the framework is running. Anyone else experiencing the same?

The problem lies with the unofficial Xposed.
It generally makes a mess out of your ART cache and even after you uninstall it the cache is left corrupted.
You need to clear your ART cache (from TWRP or FlashFire) before installing the official Xposed.

You referring to the ahrion link? Yeah I just saw your post in another thread. Directory is empty now but I'll check back in a day or two.
In the meantime I was messing around a bit. Reading things here and there it seems the installer used makes a difference.
My Xposed testing has mostly centered around GravityBox and Unicon. Both worked on Xposed by PurifyOS using @DVDandroid's installer.
After official Xposed came out (and moved to another ROM) I tried again with the recommended official installer.
GB works. Unicon does not. I assumed it didn't work because of Xposed v88.x but...
Disabled modules and rebooted.
Uninstalled 3.1.2 installer and rebooted for good measure. Made sure no cruft was left over.
Installed DVDandroid's installer and activated GB and Unicon.
GB does not work. Unicon works.
Reverting back to official installer, I get the flipside again.
At least that proved to me it isn't the framework that's the main issue.
I await something from ahrion or the next Material Design installer.

I've spoken with rovo and wanam, they explained to me the main difference with the installers:
- Previous installers (like dvdandroid) put the "enabled module list" into data/data/appid.
- Actual installer (3.1.2) put it in data/user_de/appid.
As unicon has hard coded path, it checks if it's installed in the first folder, that's why it detecte it's activation status with dvdandroid's installer and not with the official one.
Vice Versa with gravity box, cause it has been updated to check into the new folder.
Thanks for that.
I had actually checked those locations previously.
In my desktop days I would've symlinked an expected location to the new one. Here I'll just wait it out and see what happens.
Would be nice if the Unicon dev were to get back in the game, especially since the module still works in general.

I would love to see that too, but it's a kind of utopia.
Then, after deep thought, I told myself why wouldn't we ask another dev (especially launchers devs) to create a module like unicon since they already do icon theming through their launchers. They only need to add the "system wide" thing.

That's one of the methods, yes.
In my case, for years, all I did was restore Snapchat (or just data) from backup. Several devices and lots of ROMs since 2014 and I never had any issues on rooted and Xposed ROMs. It's been so long that I don't even know what my login is. Never had to log in in all that time.
That all changed this past summer when Snap logged me out of all of my installations. I just stopped using the app at that point since I can't login. Anyway, I don't know if Snapchat login issues are related to Xposed or root in general. Uninstall or disable Xposed and try to log in. If login is good I'd say back it up just in case. Reinstall Xposed and see if login holds. If so, you're good. Whenever you flash a new ROM just be sure to install and setup Snapchat first before installing Xposed.
