S5 Mini SM-G800H: Charger Support vs Galaxy S5 (testing/results)

Hi Folks,
I recently picked up a Galaxy S5 mini for testing as a company handset, and found an interesting issue where it seems to be particularly finicky about the charger used. I haven't seen any discussion about this yet so I figured I'd post my results.
I used the OEM Samsung micro-usb cable where possible (all tests, except yum cha wall charger), and I retested with an oem motorola cable and replicated all results (ie the cable does not make a difference).
I had a Galaxy S5 (full) with me for all the tests, and all these devices charged it correctly.
Galaxy S5 Mini charger compatibility results:
Wall Chargers
Motorola FMP5512A 850mA Works
Samsung ETA0U83EWE (OEM) 1.0A Works
HTC TC U250 1.0A Works
Sprout SACDUSB34AWE 1.0A/2.4A Doesn't Work (both ports)
Yum Cha Doesn't Work
Car Chargers
Motorola CHR-0291 (P513) 950mA Works
Sprout 3.4A Dual USB Universal 1.0A/2.4A Doesn't Work (both ports)
Does anyone have any extra results, or info on why the S5 mini is so particular vs the S5 (full size)?
Galaxy s5 mini SM-G800H charging problems
Hi! I just bought 2 units of the SM-G800H. To my disappointment, I also found out that those won't charge almost with anything other than the wall charger. I used 3 of my car chargers that work fine with my many other phones, and also tried with external batteries with no luck. Also, one of the units seems to have trouble with the GPS not being able to lock in the position frequently. The onl workaraound that I have found is to turn off the phone, connect it to the charger and they turn it back on... it contnues charging but a slow rate. Any help or sugestion regarding this topic will be appreciated.
Finally. I was wondering if the car charger that you mention is this:
Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate
Thanks!!

Hi, for what I've found, I'm in the strange situation as I can't charge my s5 mini with this pocket battery
Mophie Powerstation XL
Compatibility: Smartphones, Tablets & USB Devices
Battery Capacity: 12,000mAh
Warranty: 1 Year Warranty
whether I can charge Ipad, S3, Nokia Lumia, etc
So looks like they limited on purpose this phone to charge with specific parameters (which I'd really like to know)

Confirmed that the Motorola CHR-0291 works. Many thanks for doing the test! I was also going crazy trying to find a charger that worked.

Quick Charge For Elephone P9000

Hello Guys!
I'm French sorry for my bad english.
I share here a product that I bought that works very well for The Elephone P9000!
I bought a good size and functional product for Elephone P9000 on French Amazon.
The price is very low.
It loads very quickly and recognizes the smartphone instantly.
it is a universal product for all brands and also for Iphone.
It is of very good quality.
The links doesn't work in my New Thread.
I think you can find it too on Google Search. :good:
Buying to : amzn.eu/0MJaY37
Product: Quick charge Seneo
Model Number : STSNPA014AB
Work very well for : Elephone P900
Samsung; Nokia Lumia 920; Nexus.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 / S8 / S8 Plus / S7 / S7 Edge / S6 Edge Plus / Note 5 et iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone X.Samsung s8/S7/S7 Edge/S6/S6 Edge/Galaxy Note 5; LG G4, Nexus 6, Moto Droid Turbo, Nexus 5/7 (2013) / 4, Nokia Lumia 1020/920/928, MOTO Droid Maxx / Droid Mini, HTC Droid DNA, HTC Rzound , Blackberry Z30.
Photo camera: Pentax WG-III.
Tablet Qi-Enabled
I don't want to rain in your parade, but the P9000 doesn't support Wireless Quick Charge (just regular wireless charge) and even wired Quick Charge (PumpExpress+) is dodgy to say the least. Mine charges just a little faster than the regular 5V 2A chargers via PE+, something like 5-10 minutes faster.

What are the best wireless charger for Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra?

The Samsung Galaxy has been unveiled and has been growing in popularity ever since. The smartphone Samsung Galaxy has fast wireless charging. it enables you to charge other devices from the rear of it and that’s the rationale a bit of writing on Samsung Galaxy wireless charging pads is certainly a go. What is thebest wireless charger for Galaxy Note 20 & Note 20 Ultra?
I use the charger from S8 times. Works well.

I, also, use it and I like it. Work well.
I bought this one on sale: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DJ8Y2LK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it fast charges. Probably wouldn't get it again, though because it's hard to line up every time. I'd probably do a stand instead so it'll be easier to line up.
I also use the one I got with my S8+. I did just order this Phone/Watch/earbud Universal charging stand:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0894TL5JG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Its a present for my wife, so I give feedback after the holidays.
I have the +Sum travel wireless charger. Has a stationary base for charging the travel wireless charger and also can be charged through USB-C. I use it everyday whenever I'm out and about, especially for my Buds+ and Live. They are more on the expensive side, at 159.99, but it's paid for itself in many occasions.

Accessories Android Auto cable?

Hello
As the USB in my car is type A port, which cable should I get for a max of compatibility with my S21 Ultra?
Any recommendations in Amazon?

Wow I'm glad you found a cable. I find android auto via the cable notoriously unreliable. Didn't matter if it's the original cable or 3rd party, braided, unbraided, short, long.. whatever. At some point for no apparent reason the cable seems tonfsil, and if you are using gps it stops going through to the car, and yes I have missed a junction or two! My car is new, and I believe the problem is unrelated to either the s21 or the car or the cable. It's a software issue.
FWIW, we've had good luck with cables that convert to a magnetic connector (we've used WSKEN branded stuff from a couple vendors via amazon since our Galaxy S8, for years. Currently working fine with our S21+. I'd give a link but the ones we have are old enough they've been replaced on the market. The magnetic breakaway is nice to have to ensure we never stress the usb-c connector on the phone.
i actually managed to work one in to the D-Dock I got for my GTI such that I can just slide my phone in and the magnets pull the connector on, and it all works. My wife has a RAM mount for her phone and the cable hangs off the bottom and never drops off - the magnet is just about string enough to pick up the phone by itself so holding the cable on is easy.

Question Wireless charger receiver??

Im looking into getting a wireless charger receiver for my Dads 5a. Has anyone had any experience with them?
This is the one Im looks at getting
Amazon.com: 2000 Mah Qi Receiver Type C for Samsung Galaxy A Series A72 A71 A70 A60 A52 A51 A50 - Google Pixel - Qi Wireless Charging Receiver - Qi Receiver for Samsung - Wireless Charging Adapter Module USB-c

Looks to me like it would add bulk to the phone even though they say it's 'ultra thin'. The 5a is big enough as is. I didn't even know you could use these. Not sure what value they'd add TBH. If that was a check box (QI/Wireless charging) that needed to be checked, not sure why a QI/Wireless compatible phone wasn't purchased. The ones I've had in the past have always been hit or miss.
Not trying to be snarky here, not at all. Just trying to understand why it would be needed or why a phone wasn't bought with wireless charging.
