What it is
- GZOSP is our 8.1 base we use for other projects, e.g. Validus
Not much features will be added, only basics and aosp patches will be merged.
It's open source and buildable for anyone, builds from it already started popping up, so we decided to allow it
and to avoid the constant pm's with build questions we decided to create this thread, so maybe people will
help each other some.
Isn't that a novel idea
What is this thread
- The place for: questions about GZOSP, GZOSP builds, GZOSP unofficial builds, GZOSP build questions,
GZOSP issue reports, GZOSP requests, GZOSP anything...
We will not be creating device threads for GZOSP ourselves since it is our base for Validus, for now.
-(Maintainers and unofficial builders are allowed to do whatever they want with GZOSP builds however).-
But since some people like that pure aosp feeling, we will post builds when things get added/updated in here now.
No plans for Tesla & Tipsy yet, but since those were born out of boredom at the end of a Validus Android cycle
anything can happen when we get bored again
- If reporting issues state what device since this is in Beta development
whats working :
RIL
Camera
AUDIO
WIFI
BLUETOOTH
CALLS
DATA
FINGERPRINT
issues:
selinux = permissive
others maybe
Instructions:
1. Download the zip
2. Bootloader needs to be unlocked
3. Perform a backup of your current ROM (optionally)
4. Wipe system, data and cache (optionally) [Needed if coming from another rom; always good to avoid bugs]
5. Install the ROm
6. Install GApps (optionally) [Recommended -> Open GApps (arm) (8.1)]
7. Reboot

Just installed the ROM and first thing I noticed is excellent ram management more than 8 apps were in memory and the ROM is really smooth
Will keep you updated if found any bug.
And lastly thankyou so much for developing the Oreo ROM for our device waiting for added features.

Fluidity, i judged from app openings., it lags and stutters like a moto phone.
No idle drain for me in both roms, battery life is same
FP is fastest in AEX nougat and MiUi,hats off; how come this came in b/w, i don't know.
For development, i meant to say, it is straight aosp without even having icon packs or a very very basic testing browser.
Lineage 15 is almost ready to use.

Honestly I can't tell the difference between stock cam and aosp, I saw that the blurry effect when zoomed is less present when it's on aosp
I didn't got important bug today for my 1rst day of daily driver use.
Except sometimes the frequency are bit low so there are some slow down but a quick fix with kernel aduitor and boom it's fixed, will try to modify governors for kernel in the weekend

Thanks for feedback. If you can post camera samples and we can tell about the quality
Just took a photo in low light and they're an absolute ton of noise in the photo. Is there a way to use a DRM patched AOSP kernel to restore the camera? Is that even a thing?
I just figured that the aosp kernel is ****ed up.
There only the two smalls cores available.
And the big are like non existent, so I'm gonna work with @DespairFactor and @_LLJY ( I hope ) to figure wtf just happened.
Sorry for the bug (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
[EDIT]
fixed, comming in the next build
Great Rom so far.
I noticed 2 Bugs:
-Google Camera seems to bee a little bit unstable. Sometimes the phone slows down and gets really hot by heavily using the camera. Panorama is also buggy.
-The phone charges, but Andoid isn't recognizing it.

What build are you using ?
You can check that in android info and kernel, give me the date of the kernel.
The 27/04 kernel have only 2 cores enabled, and the 29/04 build is more stable
Waiting for your responce.
I'm already using the 29/04 build.

very weird, i'm pretty much a power user and my phone never overheated (depends what you call overheat)
I tried google camera apk from apk mirror, and the panorama is working fine, as well as the pic. quality is fine (see attachements 8MP)
My camera does not focus in the panoramic mode.
Perhaps the overheating was just a single case, but charging is definately not recognized by the system. The energy saving mode is still displayed in the notification.

try a clean install again for the charging issue, when I use the standard charger, the charging led is here and i get the charging animation, and it charges obviously.
Download the build again, backup ur important data,
download gapps mini, and flash the both files reboot and try now.
that's my config, if you need more google apps, you can download it via playstore or try a superior gapps package.
I'm still working on aosp to build a lineage rom, and my final goal is XOSP and resurrection remix, which are two roms that I love.

It is not actually built on pie right its on Oreo and themed like pie with all most all features of it right ?
---------- Post added at 03:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:45 PM ----------
Also in my experience it is very laggy and I think its bit heavy or not optimized till now animations and all are super cool but its too laggy for daily use
Cheers Shubham!
Rom is usable.
As of now, found these bugs
1. Not able to disable on screen nav bar (I usually use h/w key)
2. Switching between the apps take longer than expected.
3. Coming back to home screen from any app hangs. Usually when gesture navigation bar is enabled
4. Camera is a hit or miss in the short span of my usage. Camera doesn't open up. Need to reboot the phone to get ride of this. you can see in the attached screenshot, when camera doesn't open, then flash also will be disabled in notification panel. (When it was open, photo quality was good)
5. Last but as expected from first build, battery backup is to be improved. ( Too early to comment sry)

And its "ALPHA" build tbh. I just posted this build to bring taste of pie for our ham users only.
Most of the roms here are AOSP based, here's one that is CAF based. I'm not part of the dev team, this is an unofficial build, cannot really give much support, I can only promise a new build whenever there's a change in the sources.

Shared 'XPerience' already...FredOS is next probably but it isnt quite polished enough yet...I have even AOSPA but it is pretty much 'bare metal', no additional settings...been building Citrus for 3-4 months but cannot get a bootable build
Mostly, roms nobody has heard of but they are caf based and, in theory, caf based roms should have superior performance. Jusdging by the performance of a game I play, I'd say the theory holds.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/development/rom-unofficial-ressurection-remix-t3892779
He mainly builds/supports the OP6T, but has also builds for the OP6. Download:
http://luis-builds.de/downloads/lineageos/rr/oneplus6//
I only tested it for a short time. Works good, but it has no benefits and doesn't feel that polished compared to Liquid Remix in my opinion

That's strange, on my own op6 the slider doesnt work
As for the Atomic, if you mean this https://github.com/Atomic-OS, it seems abandoned, not updated since feb.8.

ok, here are some older builds:
FredOS: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397930216 (gapps not working and i think the power menu, i forgot)
PrismaOS: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397933749
For PrismaOS, i was following their telegram group, i think they'll abandon the project so i guess there won't be any updates. FredOS is very much active, the gapps problem isnt yet solved, i'll make a new thread when it is ready to be a daily driver.
I can share a build of AOSPA, too. I think there was an official beta build, i dodnt know if there is any recent build.

Tried the ROM, it's really stable and better than all ROMs I have tried for Mi 9, even Battery is performing like stock firmware, Good Work
No bug until now
I'm trying the new construction and it looks great; Is it possible to have the torch on the power button?
Is SELinux enforcing or permissive? VoLTE?

9.8.1 is recommended!
Is there a way to get Pixel style navbar icons instead of Xiaomi's?
Thanks for the development. I am using it since 1 day and I am quite satisfied. Everything works fine (including dt2w) and the ROM seems stable so far. Battery idle drain is around 1 to 1.5 % which is okay, but I will check during the next days to get a final conclusion. Again, thanks.
Do the screen refresh overclocking mods work on this?
Do you have more information about the OP gestures? Trying to get this to work.
I spent some time to flash COSP BUT i still rolled back PE+ with Los kernel base. Some reasons here:
1.Security is outdated.(It' still in Sep-2019)
2.Phone and message app are outdated as well and cannot be changed into black theme.
3.Cannot install Dolby sound mod.

Yes, battery is good. I was on 0,72% overnight.
@RuinWMD666 Thanks a lot for building this rom. Its clean, fast, easy to use. The clock with notifications in it is very nice, did not know that it existed.
Two minor things:
- Android Auto will cause trouble. Disable hardware overlay in developer options fixes this. This is a problem on every AOSP based ROM.
- Charging in my car is very, very slow. This is also a problem with all AOSP roms. On MIUI charging is faster. So, when i'm in my car it seems that voltage is turning down by AOSP rom.
Is there a fix for charging?
