Hello all,
, I'm looking for a stock or custom ROM for G800H ( Single SIM), and I only found stocks roms for G800H (Dual Sim). Its very confuse because my model G800H( Single Sim) have a snapdragon processor , works with the same android version of the G800H (Dual Sim) with exynos . Can I update my device with the firmware of G800H from sammobile.com without problem ?
in sammmobile.com just I can see all the latest firmwares for the GALAXY S5 mini SM-G800F / H /HQ /M / R4 to choice for flash my device , Nothing for G800H(SIngle SIM).
thanks in advance
It should be the same firmware image whether it's single or dual sim g800h. As long as it's H and not F.

Thanks. Are you sure ? Both models runing with diferents processor.
Regards
Well, I've never tried it myself (I have an F), so I can't be 100% sure, you know. I just read it on a different forum in a pinned topic about S5 mini firmwares. Since there are no separate images for 1 and 2 sim to be found anywhere and it's not like Samsung would leave the 1 sim without updates I would assume it's the same firmware (one kernel can support different processors). But as usual, I'm not responsible for anything.

My bro have a Galaxy Note 4 N910T variant phone
His phone is sim Unlocked, and we can use any mobile network on it.
N910T have Snapdragon 805 Chip,
My Question is that Can we flash firmware in N910T, of other variant of Note 4 that have same Snapdragon 805 Chip ?
Other note 4 have 5.0.1 update so can we flash that firmware in N910T, if that firmware is based on Snapdragon 805 Chip ?
Is any one try to do that ?

I have asked that question some time ago, and the answer is no, different antennas AFAIK.
And I think Odin wont even let you continue flashing a firmware from different model.

only if we are Sim Unlocked.
Thanks for your reply, and sad news for my Bro

That is also the reason why I asked that question lol.
I previously own a Z2, and I flashed a firmware from a different variant without problems, even got OTA from the new firmware XD

Hi, i am trying to see if it's possible to flash SM-N950U (ATT firmware) onto the TGY (Hong Kong dual sim) SM-N9500?
If the TGY is 64G RAM, then i am guessing everything is the same except dual sim internally, so should I just be able to flash the stock ROM?
How about if the TGY is 256G RAM? having different RAM size could be problem, I am guessing.
I don't know much about these except i can follow step-by-step instructions quite well.
Thanks in advance.

1. I'm not sure how you plan to do this - Odin won't let you flash other devices or even different variants of the same base model so you will need to use TWRP and a flashable ZIP
2. Not sure about the Snapdragon models but the Exynos models are all identical hardware - IE my Korean N950N still has 2 SIM slots even though it is not sold as a dual-SIM phone.
3. You mean storage, flash memory, not RAM. All the Note 8's have 6GB RAM. As for the question - it shouldn't matter. I've used N950F ROMs (which I believe are all 64gb capacity so far) on my 256gb N950N and I still had the full amount of storage available.
That's an excellent question. I have an unlocked SM-N950W with Telus firmware but I would like to flash it using Rogers firmware.
Does anyone know if this is possible via Odin?
this thread is interesting! that's a question i'm looking for too ! because my Note8 is 64GB , Model SM-N9500 and i'm looking to anybody help to flash to SM-N95xx in USA
I am looking to know if that's possible too. I am planning to purchase a N9500 model and wanted to know if I can flash any other country's firmware on it without tripping knox or routing. My reason is to be able to use samsung pay in my country.
Also, what is the reason for other people here trying to flash different firmware?
Was anyone ever able to get it done? I have a n9500 Hong Kong version, dual sim, 256gb and i’d like to flash it to be able to get everything running on it like Wi-Fi calling and other features. Got this version because I’d like to have the dual sim for traveling and the 256gb for lots of storage. I’m originally on AT&T.

Odin won't let you flash firmware for another model, but if you root you can flash ROMs for identical hardware (IE on the Exynos versions the 950N Korean models can run 950F-based flashable zip ROMs just fine because both 950N and 950F are identical hardware).
The main thing as far as features go would be band support on the modem, as I understand that the N9500 and N950U are both Snapdragon models I would assume you guys can run 950U-based ROMs, but I have no idea about the 9500's LTE bands support in relation to AT&T (I'm on T-Mobile so they are the only USA carrier I was concerned with when I opted for the N950N).

Can I update the firmware of N950F into SM-N950U?
If it matters I've been flashing crazy this past few week due to OEM issue, AFAIK as long as you flash the correct HOME_CSC,CP for your variant everything else should work as intended (exynos firmware=exynos firmware ONLY). I got a N950X but rockin with a N950F firmware (BRA8/BTU) since I got my phone original from UK.
AP: is your system partition with recovery and stuff.
BL: your bootloader
CP: your modem
CSC: this is what features you get in some countries or carriers like Wi-Fi Calling.

I'm basically asking the same question here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/flash-sm-n950u-to-sm-n9500-t3772085
Just flash system partition it will boot at least when I flashed n9500 on my n950u
I wouldn't recommend it as the modem drivers maybe different. As Carrier branded devices may have their own specific modem install rather than the one found on other variants.

No Dual VoLTE after PIE update
I just got Android PIE ONE UI update in India for my note 8 (Exynos variant) and I am still not able to keep both my SIMs on 4g/LTE.
If I put first one to LTE network other one automatically gets converted into 3g/2g.

its very frustrating. we thought it will be in final version.. but like beta... no dual VoLTE.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode. If that doesn't work. Then Samsung obviously didn't add support for Dual VoLTE
The specs for both models are same including CPU but 960F (Asia) support DUAL sim whereas Korea only SINGLE sim.
If I odin 960F to my Korea model phone, will it still work? or probably freeze on E.g. Settings when I click Sim 2?
How about the Samsung Pay?
If firmware 960F can work, can I use Samsung Pay in Asia? or they are some in-built mechanism E.g. Knox that will prevent this?
Same question. I have a SCV38 - Japanese KDI/AU Galaxy S9. I have only Android 9, but there are a bunch of US Snapdragon Galaxy S9 based on Android 10. Can I flash this (US firm on JP phone)? I just want to get to Android 10. I have a feeling that wont work, and I checked for the S8 - US and JP phones, altough based on QC chipset had other hardware differences...
Anyway, appreciate any advice on the matter.
Do you have solution? I have same problem

As long as the specs are the same you can flash any region rom. You will just have to try it yourself and see if both sims work. Google pay shouldn't have any problems. The only problem you might have is some roms have different baseband files so you might not get network connection if it's not right for your region.

Make sure in download mode you don't have RMM prenormal if you flash Android 10 and it's prenormal you will never be able to get rid of it.
