Xperia XZ1 Compact vibration motor - Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact Questions & Answers

Is it just mine or is the vibration motor on steroids in this phone I mean it's insane haha whenever I get an incoming call it just goes crazy.

It's not just you. Just got the phone on Wed. Almost returned it the same day. Gonna give it a good couple of days. Vibration is way too strong. And it's terrible when typing (the ramp up strength). Probably the one thing that i hate on the phone.

You can change the typing vibration intensity in the SwiftKey app settings.
As for calls and messages, you'll probably need root to do something about it.

It's normal. (There's already threads about this)
Apparently, that's like that for all Sony phones.

Yes. It's quite exuberant. I turn it off for calls.

stronger vibrate

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and only have HTC touch diamond for few days. I love the mobile and would like to keep it. However I'm deaf and rely on feeling the phone in my pocket, but the vibration is not strong enough to feel it all the time and it only vibrate once for incoming SMS. I have searched the net and read about the TouchResponse. I don't want the phone to vibrate everytime I touch it, but would like the vibration for incoming SMS stronger and longer. Does anybody can help me out with this?
Thanks a lot in advance!!
you can try puting an mp3 ringtone about 25 seconds or so of length in your Internal Memory/ My documents folder and choose it from with in the sounds and notificans menu in personal settings. Choose to have it vibrate and it will do so for the length of the ringtone.
Hi,
thanks a lot!! Its vibrate now longer, which is much better, but is there any change in making it stronger too?
Thanks!

Although I'm not deaf my job requires me to have the phone on silent mode. When I bought the diamond I kept thinking to myself where did the vibration go? The best phone in vibration is the HTC Touch (elf), that little bastard vibrates like hell. Once I was on a reunion and had that phone in the pocket, my wife called me and I could hear it vibrating (besides feeling) in my pocket! The diamond has smooth vibration unfortunately

[Q] How to turn off vibrate/sound notification when talking on the phone

So when I'm talking on the phone and a text message comes in, it vibrates and blasts me in my ear. I love the notifications, just not when I'm talking on the phone. I consistently have to pull the phone away from my ear when this happens. You don't realize how intense the vibration is until it's in your ear.
Is there a way to disable the notification (or at least mute it) while my face is up to the phone??
Subscribing. I also am not a fan of this behavior. Need the person to repeat what they just said because I pulled the phone away while phone was vibrating. Very unprofessional. For now, I'm just turning off vibrate option in messaging and email settings. This phone should be smarter (and less laggy) right out of the box.

Yeah it's definitely annoying, but I did the same and just turned off vibration for most alerts.
Well, to be fair, it was almost kinda worse on the iPhone 3GS that I just came from. Any calls you have come in on call waiting and stuff are heard right through the line to the other person on the phone with you... and if you are on the phone with another person that also has a 3gs (as was often the case with me), neither of you knew which was getting the incoming call unless you pulled the phone away to check. Both lines heard it plain and clear.

[Q] Xperia T touchscreen interferes with active calls

Hi,
I've been using the Sony Xperia T now for a while and something bothers me.
When I am in a call, my phone tends to put the caller on hold, switch to speakerphone, or just end the conversation alltogether. My idea is that the touchscreen doesn't lock when I am in a conversation and I press either of these buttons with my ear/head. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is it something I can fix myself? I've looked through the settings on my phone but couldn't find anything to help me here.
This issue doesn't happen every call, but I would estimate it does half the calls. Especially when I'm answering calls.
Thanks.
Never had any problems.

I just checked it. It kicks in at 2/2,5 cm's. So that's good then?

[Q] How do i shut off text notifications when i'm on a call or listening to music

I'm talking about the annoying double beep (almost like call waiting) the phone makes when i receive a text while im talking to someone. I still want notification sounds when im not on a call so I dont want to silence them enitrely. I dont remember this happening on my One X, is this a new thing?
Wait, your phone had sound when you received a message during a call?
I never had this "issue"

Yep, I get a short double tone (like call wating but shorter and two of them) every time I get a text and Im on a call. Heard in the earpiece or over bluetooth, not from the phones speaker. Never had this before I upgraded to the One from the One X. Cant figure it out without turning off all notifications.

[Q] Very loud, but very weak vibration motor

Hi,
I've bought new Sony Xperia Z1 a few days ago and overall it's a great device, but there is one issue, which is very annoying for me.
The vibration motor is very loud, but at the same time vibrations are just weak, so that when the ringtone is set on the lowest level, the motor is louder than this ringtone and when I keep the phone in my pocket I can hardly feel anything when it's vibrating.
In the keyboard I've set the shortest possible vibrating time, but it still makes more sound than vibrations.
The pitch of the sound is increasing with the duration of the motor working: eg. when I push home button for one time, the sound is quite low (but still loud), but when I press a few times in a row the sound gets higher and even more irritating.
Is it normal behavior for this smartphone? It's very annoying, because vibration should be discrete way to notify me about incoming calls or text messages. The fact that it is louder than a normal ringtone makes it useless.
Is it possible to fix it via software or is it a hardware issue and I should send the phone to the repair center (i'm afraid to do it, because they've destroyed my phone in the past).
I have the same problem, sometimes it works, but mostly it is making a scratching sound.
I've turned off the vibration when pressing the screen/keyboard, makes too much noise.
It is probably a hardware issue, i want to fix it by myself, because i don't trust the repair centers.
