Does it work on your device?
Mine does not ...
In the "Setting -> Power -> Advanced" I set :
On battery power:
[ ] Turn off device ...
On external power:
[ x ] Turn off device if not used for 15 minutes
[ ] When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to PC
Then last night, I attached the device to the USD cable connected to my device. So, it is on external power.
This morning, I found the device was not turned off !
However, I got 1 sms though ... could that be the problem? The SMS woke up the device and then never turned off again.
Bug ..................................
Anyone tested this?
I tested with 1 minute, and it was not turned off.
Is it because of ActiveSync? So, it is considered being used ...
yes this is because of the sync. External power and syncing are two entirely different things. Plug it into the power cord and not your computer and it will shut off just as you have it set.
Hi All,
I have a problem with my Tytn2 device, It used to charge before when I connect to my laptop, suddenly it stoped doing this, I tried everything I know
from the settings in the power management to doing a hard reset,
and If I use a cradle I have to put the battery directly to the cradle
The car charger is good, and the same with the AC charger

Have you tried a different cable from your laptop? The cables are pretty weak can break after extenstive use.
yes I did,
The problem is that the HTC tells me that its charging, and when I check the battery status I find the status charging, while the actuall meter os going down
I even tried another battery, the same issue, says charging, but actually not
so charges from AC and car charger
but not laptop, or a cradle
I tried hard reset
I tried changing cables
I tried another battery
What could it be?
Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Start --> Settings --> switch from Personal to System --> Power --> switch from Battery to Advanced --> make sure the last square (When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC) is unchecked in order to recharge phone from pc/laptop. Good luck

Excellent first post. This has promise.
I did all of that, It says charging while in fact the battery power is draining, some how like the laptop is drainig power from my HTC, I tried it with two other machines, but the same behavior
1. Allow the phone to turn off.
2. Turn on and let it shut down again.
3. Connect it to the charger and charge up to 100% without switching on
4. Unplug your charger.
5. Turn on the phone if it does not show 100% so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on the screen as well.
6. Now, install the
Advanced Battery Calibrator
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newagetools.batcalibra&hl=en
7. Open advanced battery calibration make sure your battery is at 100 and calibrate the battery
8. Once you've calibrated your battery, discharge it all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
9. Re-charge without turning the phone on up to 100%
This time the battery calibration process has been completed
Hello!
I have a Android phone (SG S4mini) that i put on my car to work with TorqueOBD2 and GMaps apps.
I'm from Salvador, Bahia, Brasil and here is super very hot place. And so, to avoid start a fire on my veichle I remove the phone baterry, put a Buck Converter (12v for 3.7v) and connect on post ignition key, direct on baterry terminals (soldering)
All works perfect for a long time till now. But my only problem is: i need manually turn on the phone every time I turn on the car.
So, I need a way to automatic turn on my phone on when voltage (or current) is detect on baterry.
Just to be clear, is not boot when charging, because I do not use the charge port. Is BOOT WHEN VOLTAGE/CURRENT IS DETECTED ON BATERRY TERMINALS.
Plz I really need help!
I got Android 9 running on my Touchpad but it shuts itself off after about 10 minutes even though the battery shows it's fully charged. When I try to turn it on again it says it needs to be charged. I charge it and the same thing happens. What am I doing wrong? Any advice or suggestions?

The battery capacity maybe very low. It can show 100 % charge at a very low capacity.
You can check the battery health as follows:
open a command prompt or terminal on a PC with the novacom driver an enter:
novacom -t open tty://
then
battery status
to finish enter poweroff or reboot
Example of the output:
[email protected]:~$ novacom -t open tty://
battery status
battery present
voltage: 4113840
percentage: 100
current: -861562
capacity: 6483200
All the information about the battery is on this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/hp-touchpad-poweroff-prevents-battery-drain.4002265/
This can be used for the novacom drivers, if not install on PC.
