Does it work on your device?
Mine does not ...
In the "Setting -> Power -> Advanced" I set :
On battery power:
[ ] Turn off device ...
On external power:
[ x ] Turn off device if not used for 15 minutes
[ ] When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to PC
Then last night, I attached the device to the USD cable connected to my device. So, it is on external power.
This morning, I found the device was not turned off !
However, I got 1 sms though ... could that be the problem? The SMS woke up the device and then never turned off again.
Bug ..................................
Anyone tested this?
I tested with 1 minute, and it was not turned off.
Is it because of ActiveSync? So, it is considered being used ...
yes this is because of the sync. External power and syncing are two entirely different things. Plug it into the power cord and not your computer and it will shut off just as you have it set.

hey ya'll, so for the longest time when I would plug the tilt into the wall charger, the screen would NOT turn on (it would not wake up) - however, suddenly, now it does...
I've tried going through all the settings, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to not wake up when plugged in (wall charger) -- I know it will turn on when plugged into the computer, that's fine -- any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated
thanks!
Well I'm not sure how to stop it from waking when you plug it in, but you can always tell it to go right back into stand-by.
Check out the settings in Start > Settings > System [tab] > Power > Advanced [tab]
You can tell it to "Turn off device if not used for" X amount of time while "On external power".
Not a fix but I hope it helps.
It's a strange thing. I have both a wall charger and a desktop cradle/charger.
When I plug my Tilt into the desktop cradle (without the usb cable connected to the pc), it turns on. But, when I use the wall charger, it doesn't.
This is very consistant. Maybe the pinout is different between the connectors, or the output voltage is different.
It's just something I've gotten used to and can live with.
The Tilt will not wake if you use the wall charger that came with the Tilt. It will wake if you use other types of usb charger

I've noticed that myself and I think it is extremely odd but intelligent.
If your cradle is connected to a PC via USB then it will wake. My Tilt never wakes when I simply plug into the charger, but dropping it into my cradle wakes the PPC and the PC (if it happens to be asleep).
It wakes because there is a sync notification that tells it to on detection of a USB ie. repllog.exe is by default set to run when this key is present "AppRunAtRs232Detect"
Now you can remove this repllog entry, but it means you would have to run repllog manually every time you want to sync.
The following was written for the purpose of replacing repllog entries deleted by mistake. However it will give you some info on what happens when you connect certain Rs232 USB connectors.

I am using the supplied wall charger that came with the phone and the screen powers on when I plug it in. It used to not do this at one point. I believe some thrid party software I installed is causing this. Also the screen with turn on once the charge is complete. Very annoying at night. I don't want to use the on external power settings to blank the screen after x minutes because this messes with using the GPS function while in my car. I want to see the screen while using GPS and plugged into a power source.

It shouldn't, all GPS programs I've tried force backlight on regardless on the system settings while they're running. Which one are you using?
I'm using iGuidance 3.1.
I had to do a hard reset due to an app I installed making my phone go all wonky. After the hard reset and re-installing all my programs I no longer have this problem of the phone waking on external power.
My original Tilt used to do the same thing - screen turned on when plugging into the HTC supplied power cord (even after a H/R with no programs). Eventually, the phone had to be replaced after one day it had a red light after charging a few hours and wouldn't turn on (it had been around 50% when plugged in). My refurbished Tilt mostly does not power on when plugged into the wall charger. Once in a blue moon, it will. It is random enough, I haven't been able to see a common factor as to why.
Any settings to disable wake on USB to computer connection?
A lot of times I plug my Kaiser to PC just to charge it, and I hate to see it connecting every time.
Many thanks!!!
Hi Guys!
When my Diamond is connected to PC it is always ON. Only backlight is off after a while.
But I need the phone to go to sleep (not just backlight off) even if it's connected to PC and activesync.
In other words, I need the same phone behavior as such when it is charged from adapter and go to sleep after a period which is defined in power setings.
Can you help me what and where I need to setup?
I think I bricked my device. I previously had a custom ROM with Android 5.1.1. My phone is unlocked bootloader and rooted.
I was playing YouTube videos last night and fell asleep, but I didn't realize my phone was on the whole time so the battery died on me. I charged the battery for about 2 minutes to try turning the phone on, but it flashed red LED. I got impatient and did this...
1. As it was displaying battery, I unplugged my phone from my battery charger.
2. As it was shutting down (from pulling the charging cable out), I did a hard reset (hold vol up)
3. As it vibrated 3 times, I plugged the charger in.
After I did that, my phone won't boot, no LED, nothing. My battery can't charge it (turns on for about a second and then it stops. I charged it with AC for 30 mins. and no life. Pressed the red button on the SIM but did nothing, tried turning on the phone normally but nope.
Should I open the back?
EDIT: Finally on the computer, the LED turns on but it's red (stays on without pulsing).
Flashtool detects device
Code:
08/007/2015 16:07:58 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
08/007/2015 16:07:58 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
but I can't get into flashmode or bootloader. Screen is off. I'm not sure what to do anymore...:crying:

Don't open the back cover just yet yet, it seems that you have a dead battery (fully discharged) so I'd suggest you to connect MicroUSB and magnetic charger together at the same time to force-charge the battery.
If you don't have a magnetic charger, and have a dock then all you have to do is pull it apart and you will find yourself a free magnetic charger in there.
Good luck!

No. Just leave it charged for 30 mins even with no les light, after 30 mins the red light will light up. U drained your battery thats why it wont turn on
This afternoon I received OTA 7.19.401.30 (libstagefright fix, 186 MB) on my stock M7
After installing - which went smooth and fast - I have a problem with charging my phone:
-While <on> the USB doesn't seem to connect to anything. Not to (any) charger, not to a PC (did not try a USB-OTG thumbdrive)
-While <off> I can charge the phone, but the charging is interrupted continuously while the following happens
There's an image of an empty battery (orange LED = on) → animation of charging battery with a % below (orange LED = on) → black screen (orange LED = off) ← and all this is looping in total ±10 sec cycle
When I hook it up to my PC (while <off>) Windows displays a message that the device was not recognised at the moment the black screen switches to 'empty battery' pic.
IMO windows should not display anything while connecting an <off> phone - just for charging.
Does it have anything to do with the OTA ? Or is this something else that just happened on coincidence just after restarting while finishing the OTA
Already tried:
- using different chargers
- blowing out the USB hole (compressed air)
- Reaching @HTC_nl on twitter (sorry only available 9:00-17:00)
Awaiting:
- Phone to charge (let's spend some time on the hickup charging cycle :good , back-up stuff to GoogleDrive, Factory reset
- Good solutions coming up on XDA (besides taking my loss)
Probable causes:
***** The OTA 7.19.401.30 (libstagefright fix, 186 MB)
*** Phone is getting old and tired and OTA tried to give it the last push :crying:
** Something else like extraterrestrial radiation
* Bad Karma
Plug device into the HTC wall charger that came with the device.
While on the charger, press and hold the Power key for 15 seconds.
If the issue persists, press and hold Power, Volume up and Volume down keys for 1 - 5 minutes. This process will recalibrate the battery, and allow you to power on the device.
My 2 cents.
Good luck!
Did that, no results.. Factory reset.. No result
I had some problems with my Xperia V usb port.
1. Phone didn't charge when on, it only charged when OFF!
2. When I connected USB to Laptop nothing happened, not even charging (When Android is on)
3. When I connected USB to laptop with fastboot/flashmode it disconnected after like 10-15 seconds every time.
4. And the last phase was I couldn't charge my phone even if it was off.
I got it fixed and exact same problems started after a short while.
Currently my phone doesn't charge or notice USB connection when on and only charges when off but I have to put it in specific position so that it starts charging.
