Hi guys!
I've recently bought a used x98 air 3g & have some questions about it. Mainly wondering if Win 8 .1 ever was smoother than windows 10 or not?
Cause for me.. compared to my phone this tablet is terribly laggy and even compared to my old tegra4 nvidia note 7 with only 1GB ram the x98 is just lagggggy..
This lag is generally noticeable in scrolling, navigation in browser window, scrolling inside any app window etc.
The processor itself doesn't feel slow, I mean the process times are fair enough but the UI feels horrible & seems to be always catching up a few seconds after input. Especially noticeable if you flick the fingers in sideways motion or in the new paint 3d app..almost a 2-3 second delay can be seen.
Is it an issue of some drivers ? I have latest Intel 2017 drivers for the display.
& once again repeating myself- question to users of it - did win8.1 ever seem smoother to you & did you have such issues in it too?

hey guys,
how is the speed of the diamond? i heard from some colleques, that the diamond is kinda slow, e.g. open programs, scrolling, etc takes some time. is this correct? how fast is it compared to the tytn II? i am thinking of switching to the diamond....
will the diamon pro be faster / better then the diamond touch?
After a fortnight of use, I must say that I am NOT impressed by the overall performance.
Not slow, sometimes sluggish, most of the time reasonably adapted.
I am running the original HTC 1.37.406.1 FRE . There are still some memory leaks
Is is not fast with original roms.
But the cooked roms work very well !
I have tried barely every WWE rom and what my conclusion is that the PANOSHA LIGHT WWE is the fastest rom.
I use Bepe rom and my french Diamond works very well.
I advise you to install a cook rom
I using the recent Europe release from HTC and I've add all the tweaks that I wanted to, damn thing flies tbh I don't have any slow downs but the memory leak is still there atm.
My main gripe is when you switch of threaded sms then you lose audio notifications which is a *****, live with ***** though so I'll wait till it's fixed.
Boss has the TytnII, I would not swap in a month of Sundays.
2 words: Cooked Rom.

OK, so, I can compare with Mio A701 (QVGA, Intel PXA 520MHZ)
- Games - Diamond is little bit faster, especially Call Of Duty mobile is in low graphic absolutelly smooth, in high graphic about 15-20 FPS, absolutelly playable. With a701, low mode about 20-25 FPS, high 12-15 FPS. Not much but OK, if you realize that Xscale has much better support in this game, especially MMX instructions. And there are bad 7201A drivers (CPU of Diamond)
- Video - Relativelly much slower, BUT 1, VGA can "eat" some performance aginst QVGA, 2, It still can smoothly play normal 350 and 600 MB rips. 3, You can expect some performance increases due to optimazation that CorePlayer can make on 7201A CPU (QTv mode, becouse TyTN2 driver mode is just bypass) and what is main, Xscale CPUs have much biggeer support, bacouse much more devices are builted on them, and there were many years of optimalisations.
- Camera - Quality OK, preview there I will compare to P535 Asus, becouse of my a701 was wera slow there! - It is almost the same, maybe little slower, but OK to take pictures. Only thing I miss is Sport mode which disable autobalance and video recording is much faster.
- Design - what can I say? You MUST have it!
- WM6 performance? - Everything is OK, TF 3D, BUT Scrollling speed in Programs folder of WM6 is TERRIBLE. But I think this is just matter of time to speed it up, on a701 it was simmiliar, new ROM after half of the year solved this.
- Display - WOW, NICE, GREAT! Not just VGA resolution but even view angles are just great! uncomperable to a701.
-Battery- OK, 900mAh isnt much, you will recharge it every day, but it is a tax for the size. And 1300 mAh will come.
- Overall: Very good-looking device, with normal performance that will be OK for normal users, good chances to future (better ROMs will come, especially after HTC Pro will be released. (Same CPU.)). Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, mobile phone, VGA video player, Radio, MP3 Player in one small shiny device.
Hi,
Sorry to bother you people, but I was wondering if the reviews I am looking at are giving an accurate picture of the diamond?
Most say it is horribly slow with bad GPS detection.
Of course it is as the videos show.. but when you start using it on regular basis and not just using it for 10min you will notice some sluggish times (as with everything). But with some tweaks (check the forums) to the phone and TF3D, it should be responsive and smooth.
I take it the problem is ram? That seems to be the only difference between the diamond and the fuze.
Those are the two phones I'm stuck between. I'm a bit concerned that the fuze is a bit too bulky.
I would rate it very stable, but definitely nothing remotely like fast, comparing it to previously owned pocket pc's,its mainly laggy when multitasking or when interrupting a process it's already doing, and can be very annoying.....I personally won't buy another HTC until they stop using Qualcomm 7 series cpu's....nothing to do with ram IMO,it's the cpu that chokes and different rom's can only do so much.
On the flip side though,it's easily the most stable thing I've owned, and have only had the odd glitch with googlemap's and youtube application's,I only use GPS with googlemaps and it seems pretty good to me.
I don't use tf3d.
well.. i'm coming in from a wizard.
It was just lagging too much with the wm 6.1 rom with touch flo. Am I walking into a similar situation?
I found myself always on the lookout for the fastest ROM, this suggest that I'm not too satisfied with its speed.
While the phone is normally fairly responsive at times it can be very annoying just like gerryjoson said.
This same impression I had with the polaris and topaz of my colleagues, it must really be the CPU in it.
However I would not call it horribly slow and by the way GPS works beautifully.
Its biggest drawback is the battery which lasts 2 days max with low usage, only a few hours if you use wifi or 3g . GPS will suck it empty even faster.
I have tried several different ROMs, some better than others, but none is truly 'fast' or feels fast enough for daily use. Flicking through tabs can sometime take a considerable time (up to a second on ocassion) to register, and the movement through tabs (using Sense) is never truly 'smooth'.
Moving on, I tried Android 2.2 (v1.6) and the phone is much worse. Android feels like an alpha at this point, and the phone takes several moments to respond, flicking through pages is abysmal and checking through settings and programs is very slow too. And that is with SETCPU set to max speed and performance. Installing LauncherPro seems to help the phone get slightly faster, but never truly up to par with other Android phones that run on the same CPU and Memory combination.
In general, I never was able to get my Diamond to work the way I thought it should. It has always been slow to respond to my commands (whether tap) and I found the touch buttons and the wheel to be fairly inaccurate too (I would press right and instead it would register as the back key, etc).
What is my best option for a Sense ROM that feels actually fast? I do not care for eye candy that much (although the ability to add a black theme is an advantage), but I do care for speed, responsiveness and battery life (free memory is always nice, but a second priority).
Is XANDROID 2.2 still in development? Will it ever reach the point where the phone runs in comparative similarity to other Android phones with the same CPU?
I'm using the MEMO Rom now, it's good but not 'perfectly' smooth... It also uses CHT2 with extra quicklinks and stuff, so it doesn't always have enough RAM left at all times.
My best experience with a "lighter" rom was Revolution rom by Michael Banszel (from Poland I think), but it was end of 2009...
Here's the original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563245&highlight=revolution
There's a few other light sense-roms out there...
Well android want really designed for a native windows mobile device, so you can't expect it to work better than windows mobile.also I think android takes more resourcss up.

Android devices have not really been the best kind of devices for music making, though there are plenty of related apps on it, mainly due to the lag between touch input and audio output. This has improved with recent devices and software updates, but as far as I have experienced, still some latency exists and it doesn't have the same organic and immediate feeling as an iPad when playing a virtual keyboard.
The S2 9.7 seems like it could bring that wall down. Anyone tried any apps like Sunvox, Caustic, GStomper, FruityLoops on it? How would you compare the performance of such apps against whatever device you have similarly experienced? I already own an LG G Pad 8.3 but while it's a decent tablet even for todat, it's kind of dissapointing in many aspects, especially audio-wise.
I have just received my teclast x98 iii android 5 tablet and am finding the sensitivity of the touch screen a bit laggy, I tried subway surfers game and it was nearly unplayable, also browser scrolling was a bit jumpy and sometimes when switching home screens it will open an app . just feels like the screen touch is lagging behind and the touches have to be a bit more deliberate to get it to react. Anyone had this problem is there a fix or tweak for screen sensitivity or should I send it back for replacement. Thanks in advance
My X98 Air 3G also have this issue but after using several time it improve abit , sometime it will hang. So i was thinking flashing a custom rom ,
not sure it will help .Or this is the touch issue across the board for Teclast product.
Let me know if flashing new rom will solve the issue. I am quite new also so don't dare to flash.
Thanks

May be people raving about this tablet haven't used good tabs
I had the laggy, jumpy browser at first as well. Now with the guvno ROM on m5c5 and the 2.05 bios update the tablet is pretty snappy. No more touchscreen lag

How's the scrolling when u keep your finger on the screen? My scrolling is smooth when I release my finger from then screen, but little laggy when I keep my finger on the screen while scrolling.. So I'm just wondering if newer bios can fix this.
Seems fine to me. Its definitely a whole lot laggier than my iPhone but I don't find it too bad for what it is (600$ cheaper)
