Q - Go back to stock branded rom

Hi guys
need to return phone to stock O2 UK rom.
my internal sdcard is dead. but need to get rid of any root/flashing
found an O2 UK rom on samfirmware (I9000XWJVH_O2UJV3_BWJV2), but it only contains 1 file... jvh_jv3_jv2.tar
how do i flash 1 file with odin? im confused?
normally its pda, modem, csc, pit....
The same way you found the stock firmware.
go to the flashguide and download the guide for you're phone.
Flash the one file in the PDA option of Odin. If there is a pit file then flash with the pit file & repartition checked. If no pit file then flash with repartition unchecked.
If unsure find instructions on SamMobile as mentioned above.
ok cheers
it just confused me with 1 file.

[Q] CSC for 4.0.3

Hi all! Need help: i update firmware for my SG Note from stock GB 2.3.6 to stock 4.0.3 Indian , now i cant write any symbols cuz then i try phone show me "null" . USSD *#1234# - CSC Unknown. How i can fix it? Cant find anywhere CSC SER region.
Thx for help!
sry for english )
How did you update? PC Odin? If so then the CSC would be inside that zip, it's the cache.img, flash it with PC Odin and it should solve your null issue
rename the tar.md5 to tar then open in winrar or 7 zip etc and get the cache image
ie N7000DDLP8_N7000ODDLP5_N7000DDLP4_HOME.tar

Try with Mobile Odin, I believe it supports .img file since it has a cache field..
Copy the cache.img file to your sd card, open Mobile Odin and tap on cache and then navigate to where you copied the cache.img file. It should read it without issues
EDIT: Do you have root? Obviously you need root to use Mobile Odin but seeing you flashed a stock ROM I doubt you have root..
Try to find any ROM for your country that is not one file, there should be one that contains multiple .tar files, you'll find CSC.tar there. Sorry not helping very much here

N910F: How to create odin 5.1.1 file for ALL 910F, ROM + diff. CSC files now attached

as some of you may have noticed, since note4 you'll get a "wrong size error" when flashing a new firmware with odin when you want to flash a different region firmware.
example: your CSC is DBT (you have a german note4) and want to flash the new 5.1.1 file with region HTS.
if you download the file and flash it, you will get an error in odin which tells you that the size of the hidden.img is too big.
solution (i did this a few minutes ago, and it works perfectly):
download the HTS file and remove the MD5 at the end of the file. then extract it. you will get a bunch of files. delete the hidden.img and cache.img.
then, download and install CYGWIN (linux shell for pc): https://cygwin.com/install.html
then open cygwin and move to the directory where the files are located, for example: cd /cygdrive/c/*foldername*
then re-tar the files with the command: tar -H ustar -c aboot.mbn sbl1.mbn sdi.mbn tz.mbn rpm.mbn boot.img modem.bin NON-HLOS.bin recovery.img system.img.ext4 > 910f.tar
then you can flash the 910f.tar with odin without any error, and bingo: you are now on 5.1.1 with your old CSC preserved!
this can be used every time when you want to flash a rom not meant for your region, which gives the said error message in odin!
edit:
here is the tar i created:

edit2:
here is the latest official DBT CSC for flashing:

flash this in odin as AP if your phone is DBT and you lost your CSC in the upgrade procedure.
check in the dialer with *#1234#, it should look like my screenshot attached.
if you need other CSC just download the latest original FW for your CSC and extract the hidden and cache files, then make a flashable tar as shown above!

what I forgot to say: this will NOT wipe your data partition, so all of your data stays intact!!
running 5.1.1 now for an hour and i'm bloody impressed about it's fluidity!! no "recent" lag anymore!!

Can be used on 4.4.4, or being in 5.0.1 is a MUST?

can be used from 4.4.4 as well, because bootloader and modem files are included!
i would recommend a flash to your region 5.0.1 before though, because of the lollipop CSC files for your carrier (which were removed from this tar to make it flashable)!
Sounds reasonable to do then.
Thanks!
Thank you! 5.1.1 is awesome!

Ques: have you done this already and, if so: could you upload your file to MEGA? When you upload your 910f.tar file and I downloaded it, can I place it then in AP (or must I make first the file MD5 again)?
Your "original" CSC = DBT and LTE is working OK (and BT/WiFi)?

I have no mega account, but I'm uploading to google drive as we speak!
Everything here works fine, including LTE/BT/WIFI
I will reflash with stock DBT when it will be available, but for now this method works fine and without any problems for me!

Which Odin did you use? 3.07, 3.10.6 ?

Warranty question
Hello TML,
I am wondering if by flashing this, I will break the Samsung warranty if I have a model from another region (in my case, UK)?
Here is what the Version dialog (*#1234#) shows for me:
AP: N910FXXU1BOC5
CP: N910FXXU1BOC4
CSC: N910FXXU1BOB2
Please advise
Kind Regards,
Stefano
Root is lost, right?
Does Action Memo working for you?
Hi, I followed the guide and I'm now restoring all my apps.
I noticed that with the #*1234# command I have
AP: N910FXXU1COH4
CP: N910FXXU1COH4
but I don't have the CSC line.
I've formatted the phone with the factory restore option in TWRP before flashing with odin and I was on the ITV CSC this morning.
The phone seems to work correctly (a lot faster than before) but may it be a problem (no CSC)?
Thanks!

From N920i to N920g

Hi everyone, I have a silly question for many of you, but could help me a lot. Here is the thing:
I've just updated my N920i to a N920g Marshmallow (indian ROM) with some files from another thread. I know the files are from the two roms ("i" and "g"), the only problem is that the ROM does not have Spanish language.
My idea is to extract some of the files from a Sammobile's ROM (with Spanish language), and pack them again (with the working ones for the N920i) in 4 files (AP, BL, CSC, CP) to flash with Odin (like I did with the Indian ROM).
With the Sammobile ROM, I have some of the files, but not all that has the Indian ROM:
a. In the “AP…”: boot.img, recovery.img, system.img (*)
b. In the “BL…”: cm.bin, sboot.bin (**)
c. In the “CSC…”: cache.img, hidden.img (***)
d. In the “CP…”: modem.bin
These are the files missing:
(*) userdata.img
(**) param.bin
(***) NOBLETE_EUR_OPEN.pit
Can anyone help me with this mess?
I'll be very greatful! :good:

[Firmware] Full Firmwares, boot.img and PIT Files for SM-N910F/G/T/P/V/W8

Full Firmwares, PIT Files, boot.img, and recovery.img for Snapdragon Note 4s
Use PIT files only when necessary. You are responsible for what you flash on your phone. Please do proper research before flashing any of the following files on your phone.
All of these files were downloaded with SamFirm and are the most recent available firmware except for the F model. There's a more recent release for the F model but the firmware is the same it's just for a different CSC region and I pulled the one I thought might be the most popular. If I'm wrong about that please let me know. The CSC code for all the firmwares is in the title of the files. I added the stock recovery.img to the folders too just in case.
Download Link
Also, I just noticed that samsung buries the pc drivers install program in their firmwares. If anyone needs to install drivers that file is also in the download link.
