Building ROMs - P8lite General

Hi,I am a ROM builder and since I have enough time to do this I would like to build whatever Android you want(excluding Oreo), so write down below what ROM would you like to see on this device(excluding Oreo as I said).
I will start with Dirty Unicorns Nougat.

Hi, redknight65, nice to meet you! I would like you to build MIUI for P8lite with kirin 620 processor. God bless your efforts.

Yeah I wish that too but as I think you know this what @XTutorials is/was trying to do but it has some zygote conflicts so it's not booting but I'm not saying i'm not going to give it a try.

Zygote problem fixed, it's stuck on bootloop.
P.S. It would be a waste of time to try to build it yourself since I tried to use all Marshmallow ROM's as base and use many modes to build and none worked. All have different problems from one to another.

libandroid_runtime.so. Replaced and still nothing. I belive this is caused because the newer security patches. MIUI PatchROM requires a ROM with a security patch older than October 2016. None of our ROMs have that old of a security patch.

May be you can try ColorOS?

Actually if think it can be posible cause ARMv8-A was announced at October 2011, Cortex A53 at 30 Oct 2012 and Android KK at 31 October 2013 and as i think you know there is a model ALE-L04 what runs KitKat and it's a Cortex A53 64Bit so you can run KitKat on such processor but here comes the question "Why would you want CM 11(Android Kitkat)?"

Android Nougat?

Is there any chance for Huawei P8 lite to get a Custom, Nougat-based ROM? I am pretty sure that Huawei will not release an official ROM, but could we expect something from our developers?

Google forced manufacturers make updates that's why this phone received marshmallow. Now when they release updates so often I see no reason for them to stop. And there are some sources that claim we will receive nougat in second quarter of 2017

That's good news. I had read on an article that Huawei would support their phones only for 2 years. that's why I worried about this!
If huawei doesn't relase official source code for Nougat. We won't see any custom roms based on it because devs don't have files to build roms. Hopefully we will have Nougat. And maybe some devs would take it as a project.
The P8 was the flagship for huawei.
It has a 930 Kirin chip & 3GB ram - it can definitely handle nougat.
It was only released April last year (13 Months old). Keep in mind it's in the line of flagships, and had pretty much made Huawei recognisable as a competitor.
Huawei must appreciate the phone as it is £300, its not exactly dropped in price dramatically.

Marshmallow is at the 23rd API Level, Nougat is at the 24th. IIRC some proprietary libraries are tied to the API level so there's not much We can do without Huawei's support.

I am not interested in porting it to AOSP 7, however its true that I have downloaded Nougat's source.
Come on, you can't seriously compare the source of Xperias and Hisilicon devices. It's like day and night.
Thanks for trying anyway.

Good question, but I am afraid that the answer would be no. They have Hisilicon both but p9 lite has kirin 650 and p8 lite 620. Which means that without Huawei releasing some kind of the source code for the chipset no job could be done.

True!
I got today after debranding this firmware c432b210 via OTA. It is Android 6 based with EMUI 4.1.3.
Do you know if there is a way to install Nougat from this firmware? or should I wait to a new OTA to get Android 7?
Should I install again via dload the c432b136 and start all over again using Huawei Updater 2.0?
Best regards
B210 should get ota to B386.
If OTA no pop up then you will need to manually update using the Huawei Updater 2.0 method as shown here (C432 users only!!!):

What's with KitKat? There are security patches every month until now, right? Why not use a good old version? I have tested android 8.0.0 on moto g and I like android 7.1.2, too. It's not really a necessary update. We can really be happy with 7.1.2. The difference between 6.0 and 7.0/7.1 is so much bigger than the differences between 7.0/7.1 and 8.0.0. And 8.0.0 is old in few weeks, because android 8.1 is coming to pixel2-launch

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 13 (2/18 patch)

Hello
I decided to rebuild LineageOS 13 with the latest security patch.
Everything is based on AD2076 and nexolight's work. I haven't actually fixed anything myself. (Also thanks for haky 86 to get me started on this!)
Downloads links:
Build 1 - 9/2017 patch (tested, working)
Build 2 - 10/2017 patch (tested, working)
Build 3 - 2/2018 patch (tested, some heat/battery issues are possible. Not sure)
Coming today - 2/18
You should use boot.img from here
- (format system, data, cache and dalvik cache) if coming from other rom than CM/Lineage
- (sudo) fastboot flash boot boot.img
- (sudo) fastboot flash system system.img
If you experience battery drain try to disable nfc and location. With those disabled I often get a whole day of battery - not significantly worse than emui.
Also, as always, I'm not responsible for any damage. Take a nandroid backup before proceeding.
Thanks ! Works fine with me without wiping data from lineageOS 13.
February build is now done.
Today I'll continue LineageOS 14.1 project

I had a lot of heatproblems and batterydrain today. GPS was turned on, so there is an heat/batteryproblem in februari build. It's very nice you bring new updates to this phone. I can test Android N when you're ready. Me and so much other users would be glad to get Android N!

I don't have any Huawei devices myself nor have any using the arm64 Architecture but, you can always try the Virtual XPosed. I haven't used it yet and, eventually, plan to give it a try sometime.
Or you can see if the "xposed-v90-sdk26-arm64-beta4-test1" will work for you that's located on the following link.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=272642
I can't guarantee that either method will work for you but, those are probably the best options available (that I'm aware of).
Good Luck!
