I recently installed Serendipity and made sure the battery was at 100% while doing so (and deleted the battery file). I'm waiting for the battery to drain before I plug it in. Am i supposed to let it charge all the way again? Also, is it safe to reboot the phone while it is draining the first time? I want to install something using clockwork.
I'm being careful about this because cognition would report 14% battery life after 33 minutes of display usage and display eating up 96% of my battery....

There's a complete thread on this, I suggest you look it up.
After you reset your battery stats, it is suggested to do a few full battery circle (use til dead, full charge, rince and repeat). You should be fine after 2-3 circles.
Note tho that it will not improve your battery life. All it does is a attempt to tell your phone what % your battery life is exactly.
For your fast drain, I don't think it has anything to do with your battery calibration or your ROM. It's most likely a app (or a few) that are draining alot of juice or that are running w/o realy being needed. (Check your running services.. make sure you know which one to stop and not to***)
Also using a app/widget like advanced task killer can help your battery life as it will stop every app running with a simple touch. I suggest doing it anything you're not using your phone.
One last thing, display eating 96% of your battery is normal.. it's not telling you it's using 96% of your battery. It's telling you that during the time your phone as been unplugged, your display use was your main action.. probably cause you didn't make many calls or anything else.. Display is just about everything you do with your phone so it will always have some high numbers like that.

Yeah, I've seen the thread before but forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me. And my point about the display was that it was on for such a short amount of time, yet still killing my battery.
I am now down to 30% or so after 3 hours or more of display time after calibration & rom switch- and I was streaming music through WiFi and using Bluetooth headphones. So it it seems like it made a huge difference =D
Thanks
Hi! I have a problem with CM9. My battery is draining very fast!
When i went to bed phone had 88% remaining.
When i woke up it had only 42%.
Is ti normal?
That is not normal. download better battery stats and check to see if an app is preventing the phone from sleeping, or causing wakelocks.
Also make sure that your cpu is not sticking. I noticed that once and a while my cpu would stick on 1300mhz while using lulzactive or smartassv2. Check that in settings > performance > Processor.
Also, just so you know, the whole wiping battery stats has always been a myth and always will be. It doesn't work.
i also had this problem and my battery used to drain after day and a half of normal use. it may be because your battery is not fully charged. i mean when installing a new rom if your battery is not charged fully new rom may not recognize your battery level correctly. so try to completely drain battery and then charge it to full. and even let it be charged some more because the indicator may be wrong. this worked for me.
Android system and android os both use 20% of battery which is the greatest.
And where i can download battery stats and how do i install them?

my android system used alot some how but not android os. this may be because of an application. you can find this app on google play or just google it and download it from mobile. and if you cant access below simply copy to phone via computer and install.
In different threads some guys said "flash different modem"
And it worked with others so should i try it too?
Modem only affects cellular signal, so unless all your battery drain is coming from cell standby, it probably won't fix it.

i'v tryed several roms, most of them show that higher power consumption is by screen, but the thing is that i do not use my phone during the work day, but still battery drain. any ideas why?
Donno if it's important but i tryed different cm9 roms and battery drain was different to.
any ideas please..:good:
i have been using this app for some time now. and getting around 18 hours with moderate use. i decided to disable this app and i am getting round about the same battery time. i wanna know why this is so..could it be that greepower is wasting battery by staying running in the background? who else noticed this..is there a better way of conserving battery while keeping data connection on?
if you are using this app or any other battery saving app please comment or if you simply do not restrict your data connection i want to know how much battery u end up saving or using
read the sticky from ahalford on wakelocks. There you find all you need to know about optimizing battery life and why battery saving apps dont generally work.
I just got my Xperia TX last week, but I have one issue with my phone, the battery drains really fast. I always use internet & wifi. I can get around 4 to 5 hours before it drains out. Is this normal? Any suggestions guys?
my TX got problem to.. the battery percentage got problem. 20%-15%, then my battery already flat out.. i dont know how to calibrate the battery stats to show true battery percentage
Any suggestions guys?
How about posting the using best battery stats app?

yes its perfectly normal, if u watch videos and surf internet all time coz the display is too good and the battery is not sufficiant enough power it,
Also check the battery usage in Settings>Power management > you will get an idea what eating up the battery and i am sure it will be mediaserver.
When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Moto G4 Plus's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Having problem, Battery is draining quickly in 7.0
i used to have a moto g4 plus, I did not find any unusual drain unless i had 4G data or wifi on
My moto g4 plus was working fine until a few days back, now the standby drain is terrible even charging my phone takes more than 3-4 hours.
The battery status shows that my phone is almost always awake and draining the battery. It works better in safe mode, how do I find what's causing the phone stay awake??

I had the same issue........,but i fixed it(somehow)....................,first of all, doing a factory reset is sure to fix it...........................,also ,the main cause for this is because of the tons of apps and services running in the background......................................,if you don't want to reset, try using greenify,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it hibernates apps and prevents them from working when the screen is off..........................greenify works on both rooted and non-rooted devices, although it is much more effective on rooted devices...........i highly recommend it........................good luck....
My battery was draining pretty fast so I installed GSAM and found that the app DSub was taking up most of my battery. Never had the issue with the app on previous phones/android versions so I went into settings and found that DLNA was enabled. The description said to disable if it was causing battery drain on Nougat. I turned it if off and now the battery life is MUCH better.

Where in the settings did you find the DLNA option to disable? Please help.
Same here. Help. It charges up way too quickly and then loses battery just as quick . Standby shows 19% !!!!

Looks like you're in an area with poor signal strength, and that you use the Turbo Charger for daily use.
That graph looks perfectly normal for those conditions.

Anything has to be the top stat, but don't forget that it is only 18% of 6%.

Sorry for the late reply...in DSUB, go to Settings, Casting, and scroll to the bottom.

Thanks buddy. I just checked in the display settings and went to Cast option. It's empty. Please see attached screenshot. It's that the right place?

I'm talking about the DSUB app specifically. I've attached a screenshot. If you don't have DSUB installed, maybe another media app is causing the problem? Try installing GSAM, which will tell you what app is causing your drain.
Good backup

Doze will help I think
mobile network standby drains a hell lot of battery.. Half of my battery consumption is due to mobile network standby..
If app consumption is 30% then standby will be more then 30%
I cross check other users for their battery stats but cell standby was 0-1% but in my case it is around 40-45% or even more if used from a single charge.. Battery life is dead due to mobile network standby. Please help.
