I have the same problem. Magisk Manager downloads the zip file v15.0 but fails to install.

Hello,
I seem to have a problem with Magisk Manager, it doesn't install modules when downloaded... Modules stays empty after reboot.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
Thanks!

Yes, same problem. Using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-5220, it is a x86) using Lineage 14 7.1.2 with integrated Houdini.
Magisk and Hide is working well, Safety Net passes also.
When installing Sony Framework it is downloaded and installed and shows up in modules, but after the reboot it is not in modules anymore and in download section it has the not installed status. Flashing the ZIP using TWRP it causes a boot loop.
Did you find a solution meanwhile?
Same here with my Asus Zenfone 2 Z00A. Installing modules with Magisk Manager works, but after reboot they are gone. However, installing via TWRP works.
But since a few days I'm on magisk v13 and now installing via magisk manager works.
So, you can give that a try...

Can confirm, works with V13
Uninstalled Magisk Manager V4.3.3, then dirty flashed latest Magisk Beta: v13.0 (c4377ed) using TWRP. After reboot I installed the Magisk.apk (Manager) included in the ZIP and now it works. Can install Sony Framework etc. Thanks for the hint
Is this still happening for anyone on v14? Since I updated Magisk Manager to 5.4.0 I think it started for me.
I can't install modules.
I have v14 and Magisk manager 5.4.0!
Please help!
Logs, people... Logs!
What kind of log, you ask. Well... Recovery log, magisk_debug.log, logcat. They'd all be useful to some degree.
Help us help you.
Edit: and if you haven't tested on v14.3 beta yet, do that first...
Installed 4.3 and solved the problem! Thank you Didgeridoohan!

same prob?,
hve u got any solution?
I downloaded the boot.img from the files that matched my version on the Google developers page. I loaded the boot.img and ran the Magisk Manager install option.
Took the patched_boot.img and flashed it to my Pixel then rebooted. Magisk Manager didn't show it was installed. Then I remembered I have slot A and B. So I went back installed, swapped to the other slot and installed again. Boot took a little longer this time. After the boot finished Magisk Manager still didn't show installed.
Any ideas on what steps I missed? Any successful Pixel 1/2 owners who have installed without TWRP or previous root?
I'm unrooted but have my bootloader unlocked from when I was using TWRP/SuperSU long ago. I wanted to move to Android 8 for the security updates and features. Now I want Magisk because I miss having root options.
Which versions are we talking about? Log?
Why open a new thread instead of posting in an existing one?

Beta v14.3, didn't see one fitting my specific issue but I also probably didn't search well enough, and I will have to get/find the logs.
Are you referring to logs from Magisk itself or do I need to turn on logging in the developer menu somewhere and try to reflash the patched boot.img?

I asked for versions (pl!) for a reason: there are many. You forgot to mention the manager and eventually twrp.
Simply post in the beta thread with a the available information and including a magisk log.

The quickest and easiest way is to download the 14.3 zip on your phone, then boot into TWRP via fastboot/ADB on your computer. Once in TWRP find the zip file and install. Then reboot. That is what I did and it took no time at all. Keeps stock recovery allowing OTA updates.
Today I rooted my P20 pro. Everything worked perfectly. Magisk was installed and rootchecker said my Phone is rooted, but after a restart, I cant open Magisk and some other root apps anymore. Could someone help me please? Thanks.
Which version did you install? Same happened to me with 16.4 and 16.0 after updating Magisk Manager.
With version 16.0 and not updating the manager all runs fine. Uninstall manager, reboot, install the one which is included in 16.0 should solve the problem. If not, uninstall Magisk completely (don't forget the manager) and reflash it.

is it possible to uninstall Magisk completely without using the Magisk Manager. Everytime i try to uninstall with the manager, it comes "error downloading file". Is there another simple way to do this?
Thanks

Hello, do you mean this file? https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v17.3/Magisk-uninstaller-20181022.zip
I´m using Magisk v17.1 on Huawei P10
This won´t work for me in TWRP. After flashing i get an error like this:
!Cannot access /data , please uninstall with magisk manager
- Unmounting partitions.
Yeah that's the for, try updating Magisk first, then uninstalling it.
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
On my P10 it looks like the newest Version. Update isn't possible. Or is it a way to install an older version and then remove it?
Try flashing the uninstaller as you would a module not in the Magisk repo (Modules section, "+"-button).
Thanks this worked fine. Problem solved.
Hi, I don't want to create a new thread because my problem is very similar.
I want to uninstall Magisk to be able to update my OP5. But however I am trying, it's not working. I tried flashing the uninstall.zip via TWRP first, tried the deinstall feature of the Magisk Manager and finally tried the method mentioned above. None of them worked. I restart my phone and Magisk is still installed. It needs to update and reinstall the manager but my phone is still rooted. I don't know what to do. Magisk Manager is/was up to date and I even restored a TWRP backup just in case I did some mistakes during the uninstallation.
Can anyone help me with that?

There's a bug in the Magisk v19.1 uninstaller. It's been fixed upstream, so try using the Canary uninstaller instead: https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/raw/master/canary_builds/magisk-uninstaller.zip

Looks like it worked. My phone is not rooted anymore and I could update without a problem. Thanks a lot
Works great on Nougat 7.1.1
Thanks
Getting Xposed working
-make sure Magisk v18.0 or higher is installed.
-download Riru-core v10 or higher and install it in Magisk Manager
https://github.com/RikkaApps/Riru/releases
-download EdXposed 0.2.9.6.beta (any updated zips will cause bootloop) and install it in Magisk Manager
https://github.com/solohsu/EdXposed/releases
-Install official or third-part Xposed Installer.
reboot.

Thanks. Works on my APL-AL00 9.0.0.167. Tried 'Exi for Swiftkey' module and it works too.
Be careful and make a backup before.
I got stuck in boot, if I rebooted with root. Without root it started, but nothing worked to uninstall this magisk modules again.
So I had to restore a backup...
Same for me. Stuck at boot. Phone can start without root. Now how can we uninstall this modules without magisk?

I found no way to do it because of no properly working TWRP on EMUI 9.
Before next try first install this module: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-core-mode-bootloop-solver-modules-t3817366

my alp-l09 when you install the riru and reboot to enter by recovery and open the magisk, it stays and does not pass the logo, but then you will have normal system without magisk and delete magisk completely, because even so the logo does not happens, I tried the two versions of riru V16 and V17 and in this update of the alp is that it does not work, if there is any other way tell me please
