Miracast too laggy and disconnects. - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Hi All,
Recently I had rooted my device and enabled the Wireless screen casting in my MOTO G5S PLUS. It does connect to the Miracast M4 plus, but it becomes laggy and hangs immediately in 2 mins. When I connect another mobile it is fine and plays very well.
There is definitely something wrong with my mobile. Can someone help me in this.
Note: there is no lag or disconnection if I connect through Allcast app.

Strange....no one has any solution for this???

[Q] Does anyone have working Miracast with XZ?

I have a D-Link DHD-131 Mainstage WiDi adapter, supporting Miracast because it runs WiDi 3.5 firmware (correct me if this is not correct). I can find the device, but when I try to connect the D-Link says that it has found a device that wants to connect and after a few seconds the message disappears. The Xperia on the other hand is just patiently counting down from 120 seconds to 0 and except that does nothing.
Are there any people that use Screen Mirroring? If so: did it work with your adapter? What brand adapter are you using?

I have tried connecting to a Samsung AllShare Cast Hub, which may not be 100% MiraCast compatible, but according to some video on YouTube it also works with the LG Optimus G Dual (also a 1080p phone)
I found the following issues:
Connection is 'successful' but screen remains black and no sound is transmitted
On one occasions I somehow managed to hear my phone's sound through my TV - haven't managed to do so since
WiFi is disabled (indicated by a pop-up message) as soon as screen mirroring is activated, and re-enabled after the screen mirroring connection is closed!!!
The first 2 items may be compatibility issues, but the third one surprised me and is probably a limitation in the Xperia Z. While the Galaxy S3 can have WiDi and WiFi active at the same time, the Xperia Z apparently cannot
Edit: note that in order to connect to the dongle, I had to press a button on it first. Before pressing the button, I would just keep seeing the same countdown timer you describe here. Maybe that helps somehow?

Hmm... My WiDi adapter had no buttons at all, only a reset-button. I tried resetting and pairing, but that didn't help. Thanks anyway for your reply, at least I'm not the only one having problems using the Xperia Z's Screen Mirroring function with 3rd party adapters... I wonder if there are any combinations of adapter/XZ that do work...

Screen mirroring on Samsung TV

Hi everyone,
I'm having problems connecting my Oneplus 3T to a Samsung Smart TV.
I tried using WiFi direct with no luck and also using another Android device as a WiFi hotspot but when I try to cast screen from device setting both the phone and the TV stay stuck on connecting and after several minutes they give up and disconnect.
I also tried using the "Localcast" app and I can view photos, videos and listen to music on the TV but it doesn't have an option to mirror the entire screen.
At a friend's house I tried to mirror to his Chromecast and it worked perfectly.
Phone is full stock, no root, latest OOS 4.1.6
Miracast seems to be quite buggy, Chromecast is a much more stable solution, albeit proprietary and only available on Android-based Samsung TV:s and Chromecast dongles. Unfortunately I have no solution for you other then recommending getting a Chromecast, I do have this same Miracast mirror crash when connecting to my LG Netcast-OS based TV.

Chromecast Help Forum

I have a network at home which includes a standard router which is connected to other parts of the house via 3 Powerline Adapters which broadcast the Wi-Fi signal.
I have 3 Chromecast devices and 1 Chromecast Audio.
The Chromecast attached to the TV at the main router is very stable and rarely gives is problems.
One of the other Chromecasts has to be powered down when that TV is not in use so on each use it has to go through a restart. On Saturday I noticed that even after a restart I couldn't find the device. The Chromecast backdrop photos were scrolling, it showed up on startup as connected to the network but it was not visible in the apps or in Home. It took a restart of both my mobile device and the Chromecast to get it working. This issue was with a Samsung S7.
Today (Sunday) I was trying to use the third Chromecast and had similar issues except, at times, the Chromecast was visible in Home but not in the apps (Netflix or Google Music). Again several restarts of both Chromecast and mobile device were required. Eventually I got it working but after watching a feature film the Chromecast disappeared from both Home and the app (Netflix). The film credits were rolling but I could not stop the film or choose another film. These issues were with Samsung S7 and S5. The S5 was unable to see the Chromecast. Both mobiles are up to date with software.
I get similar issues with the Chromecast Audio but to a lesser extent.
I am beginning to have severe reservations about Chromecasts reliability.
are you sure, that the Powerline Adapter forward the Arp request and discovery messages? that was the reason, that the poweradapter did not live long beside me...to much network issue's

I am not sure I know what the ARP request is and how to check it.

Screen casting problem after OxygenOS 5.0.1 update

Hello, a fellow 3T owner here!
Just installed the latest OxygenOS 5.0.1 update and after that I am unable to cast my screen to my cars screen via Miracast. I am able to connect to my car via Wi-Fi but after turning "Cast" on I get the error message: "Connected, no internet". Before the update everything was working fine.
Does anybody have a similar issue? Any solutions?
Thanks!
Have you tried casting to another smart display? Something like your Laptop/PC? On Windows 10, search for the Program "Connect" and use the same way to connect to it.
Why? To nail down where the issue may be, in your phone or your Car Screen. Also, try using another Miracast Compatible device to connect to it.

I was having the same problem...EZMira app (Playstore) works like a charm for me

Cast screen to Samsung TV?

Dear all,
I'm happy with my Mi 9T Pro - running MIUI 11 Global - for anything but the cast feature.
I have a Samsung TV and when I had a Samsung S9 I was able to seamlessly cast the screen content to the TV.
With Mi 9t Pro anything I tried failed.
Is there a way to accomplish this specific request? Might a custom ROM add the needed feature - protocol - libraries that enable this?
Thanks!

Playstore - Video and TV cast /Samsung TV
Both smartphone and tv must be on the same 2.4 GHz wifi network (not 5GHz). Enable Bluetooth.
Start your TV.
Mi 9T Pro: Settings
> Connection & sharing
> Cast
> Enable Cast
Be patient the first time. Repeat the procedure a few times.

This is correct when you use a WiFi connection for your TV.
When you use an UTP connection for your TV to for example your router it does not matter what kind of WiFi network you are using.
Both (2,4Ghz of 5Ghz) will then work.
Thanks everybody for your answers.
@hewlett2008, thanks but I didn't explain well my request: I would like to mirror phone's screen to TV, so the application you suggest does not accomplish this task.
@actiyo and @Snah001, I made all possible test but did not manage to make it work.
I tried with TV connected via cable and via wireless, and both times activating the cast feature on the phone didn't make anything happen.
In a random attempt I also manually added TV to the phone via wi-fi direct, and TV did ask me to authorize the connection, but even in that case the cast feature did not work.
I find it weird that this feature is listed as one of MIUI 11's improvements and it just does not work with a large selling TV producer like Samsung.
Any help will be appreciated.
Double post.
Weird. I can cast to my KU6400 Samsung.
I think mine is a quite recent model: MU6400, 49"; I purchased it a couple of years ago.
I used to mirror my phone to quickly show some news articles or funny Whatsapp messages to my family, and I miss this feature quite bit.
I'm not a total newbie of technology issues, but this problem is baffling to me.
I guess I will end purchasing a Amazon Firestick or something similar just to use this feature, but would try anything before because the TV is hanging on a wall and any device connected to HDMI would not be nice to see.
Cast problems
I have a Xiaomi mi9t pro . I have 2 tv . One a LG newer one and one Samsung "old" one . Both smart TV . After update from miui 10 to miui 11 cast won't work on the Samsung TV from the app like YouTube. Tried everything . No matter what I selected 2,4 ghz or 5 ghz network . With screen mirroring is working , but I find this kind of useless because I don't like how I see the movies in frames . Anyone with some ideas ? I have 2 another phones in my house , both working with the Samsung TV so it's clear is not the tv the problem !

Well, screen mirroring is exactly what I'd like to use.
Could you please tell me what are the exact steps you perform (on both phone and TV) to activate screen mirroring?
Thanks in advance!
