Hello, a fellow 3T owner here!
Just installed the latest OxygenOS 5.0.1 update and after that I am unable to cast my screen to my cars screen via Miracast. I am able to connect to my car via Wi-Fi but after turning "Cast" on I get the error message: "Connected, no internet". Before the update everything was working fine.
Does anybody have a similar issue? Any solutions?
Thanks!
Have you tried casting to another smart display? Something like your Laptop/PC? On Windows 10, search for the Program "Connect" and use the same way to connect to it.
Why? To nail down where the issue may be, in your phone or your Car Screen. Also, try using another Miracast Compatible device to connect to it.
Miracast
I was having the same problem...EZMira app (Playstore) works like a charm for me

i have tried several methods to get whole screen mirroring working with both miracast receiver and with a chromecast ,all of it fails
so is there any way make miracast or whole screen casting work ?
i tried it with chromecast app but it connects and then disconnects in 2 seconds
Chromecast works for me on rooted stock rom by using the google home app.
It failed on cm12 as well as on the nexus rom. I tried the "share display" function in cm12 as well as the google home app. They both see the chromecast, but when I tryed to connect, it disn't work.
Anyone knows what components are relevant to
make the screenmirror function work?
At least the cast function in the youtube App worked on all roms i tryed.
I'm trying to get my stock Pixel to screen cast reliably to a Chromecast in my car. I've tried with a wi-fi hotspot and this seemed to drop out randomly which wasn't helpful whilst driving and then other times it wouldn't see an internet connection through it despite the phone being online.
So I've gone down the road of using a raspberry pi as a portable hotspot and rooting a Chromecast. This is more reliable once connected however the process of connecting is a bit tricky. At the moment I have to give the Chromecast an internet connection through a USB tether to the pi then connect to the wi-fi and cast screen. Eventually disconnecting the tether and the phone falls back to cell data whilst still casting the screen. My question is can I stop a rooted Chromecast with Eureka ROM needing an internet connection to be able to receive screen casts? I must note for some reason it only needs to be connected once after boot after that it will still be able to cast to despite complaining of no internet connection. Which is different to what a non rooted Cc did so it's like it's almost there but not quite.

I think the first thing to realize is, that the chromecast is not primarily intended as a screen mirror receiver. [...] There are great miracast receivers that do basically what you want.

@Morphy99 - You should try the Miracast receiver from Microsoft (Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter v2). Works great with my Nexus 7 (2013) on Android 6 and the app "SecondScreen" for screen ratio correction! :good:
Yes I realise this unfortunately with the Pixel unrooted miracast is not possible. Another reason I should have gone Samsung. Ive got a cheap ez cast dongle coming which hopefully will do it, although I'm sceptical at the minute. I'll update you if it works.
Hi everyone,
I'm having problems connecting my Oneplus 3T to a Samsung Smart TV.
I tried using WiFi direct with no luck and also using another Android device as a WiFi hotspot but when I try to cast screen from device setting both the phone and the TV stay stuck on connecting and after several minutes they give up and disconnect.
I also tried using the "Localcast" app and I can view photos, videos and listen to music on the TV but it doesn't have an option to mirror the entire screen.
At a friend's house I tried to mirror to his Chromecast and it worked perfectly.
Phone is full stock, no root, latest OOS 4.1.6
Miracast seems to be quite buggy, Chromecast is a much more stable solution, albeit proprietary and only available on Android-based Samsung TV:s and Chromecast dongles. Unfortunately I have no solution for you other then recommending getting a Chromecast, I do have this same Miracast mirror crash when connecting to my LG Netcast-OS based TV.

Just out of curiosity, which samgsun tv model do you own? I am facing this same issue with my one plus 3t trying to connect to my SamsungKU6000. On the other side I have no propblems connecting to my other LG tv with wb OS 3.0
I go to settings>display>cast and it works for me.. I have a 6300 curved Samsung 2016 I believe
With miui 10 I had no problem casting screen to my Sony Bravia.
Just upgraded yesterday (finally). with miui 11 everything feels great except casting no longer seems to work. It still recognises my TV but fails to establish any connection. Is this a known problem?

Yes, it us.
But there is a solution.
Go to developer options and enable wireless display certification.
Than go to "connection and sharing"/"wireless display and enable wireless display.
Now you see some stuff. Go to "operating channel" and change from auto to 6 or 11.
Now connect your tv.

I see the extra options after enabling wireless display certifications.
But still can't connect wirelessly, even after changing the operating channel. I even tried changing some other parameters, still no go. Nothing happens after I tap on my TV name.
Thanks anyway.
Cast is working fine using Chromecast on V11.0.8.0.QFAEUXM, after following OEL's setting recommendations. I never tested it with a Sony Bravia...
wireless display mi mix 3 after miui 11
hello, I followed your instructions and I managed to connect my mi mix 3 in wireless display my samsung smart tv and thank you for this. When I then restart or turn on the smartphone, I activate the wireless display, and I have to set operating channel 11 again, otherwise it won't work. Why is channel 11 not stored?
second problem. the home modem is dual band. Samsung smart TVs connect to both networks. But my mi mix 3, connects in wireless display only if the TV is connected to the 2.4 ghz wifi network. If I connect the TV to 5.0 Ghz, the phone does not detect any Samsung smart TV. Please can you help me. I would prefer to use 5.0 in wireless display. Thanks

I found the solution in this video.. but download the lastest versions

I have tried the options in the video and the wireless display certification but they are not working for me. I keep getting the message on the TV that 'try using a mobile device instead'.
Is there a solution for this?
Long story short: with my previous phone (Sony Xperia Xcompact, Android Oreo) I was able to share the screen to my Smart TV; now with Redmi Note 10 Pro (Android 11, MIUI 12.5.4.0) the screen cast doens't work at all, and seems a know bug:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/iqss2m
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/mf2d84
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/p160c9
I also tried to manually update the MIUI casting package (com.miui.mishare.connectivity) from apk mirror ("Casting" from 0.4.25 to 0.4.32), without dice.
What happen: doesn't matter if I choose Wireless Display Or Cast (which needs Bluetooth and GPS): the phone find and list the TV, it attempts to connect (nothing is transmitted on the TV's screen) and after some seconds the TV disappear from the list of available devices.
Does anybody else facing the same? I also tried to download casting apps from PlayStore, but the I face the same issue.
What can I do? I was thinking to buy a screencast stick, but not the ChromeCast (I don't want to install Google Home), maybe the Mi TV Stick, but I fear that maybe would be useless since I am facing the mentioned issue.

I too had the same issue. Had tried most steps mentioned above. From that I might give some suggestions for the time being...
1.Try downloading an app called "TV Connector" and use the connect button in that which takes you to the default wireless cast page.
2. Try restarting the device
3. Try renaming the TV to some other names and then try with wireless display option. (The cast option from the notification drop menu never works!)
4. Enable MIUI optimization, if disabled and try.
5. Try another app called "1001 TVs Screen Mirroring" from playstore and install it's client on TV.
All these which i had tried and now it's working somehow
Note:
I have another Xiaomi Mi A3 with me and it just connects flawlessly with the default cast option from the notification drop menu.!
None of these options worked..

This is excluded, since sometime I have to connect to TV of other people.
Anyway: I am on MIUI 12.5.4.0, also you or you are on 12.5.8.0?

Yes, I'm on Global 12.5.8
I have exactly the same problem, tried a lot of things, but none of them worked.

I have the same problem with Miui 12.5.7 EU stable
My mobile is Mi10T
any solution?
Not sure about MIUI roms, but any A11 custom ROM and casting to TV and Chromecast works fine. But all the A12 ROMs do not work. I'm sticking to Android 11 for now
Yesterday (29 Jan 2022) I received the update to MIUI 12.5.7.0 and now, for me, screen cast works like a charme.
any fixes?
