i have tried several methods to get whole screen mirroring working with both miracast receiver and with a chromecast ,all of it fails
so is there any way make miracast or whole screen casting work ?
i tried it with chromecast app but it connects and then disconnects in 2 seconds
Chromecast works for me on rooted stock rom by using the google home app.
It failed on cm12 as well as on the nexus rom. I tried the "share display" function in cm12 as well as the google home app. They both see the chromecast, but when I tryed to connect, it disn't work.
Anyone knows what components are relevant to
make the screenmirror function work?
At least the cast function in the youtube App worked on all roms i tryed.

The tablet is not rooted. There are apps that will display pictures, videos and the like to the tv. I want to to simply mirror the screen. With my OnePlus 3 phone I simply hit cast in settings and everything works flawlessly casting to my Sony TV with built in Chromecast. I have tried every app that claims to mirror the screen and they fail to work with this tablet Same problems trying to mirror the screen to Amazon Firestick and Roku. Is this a Samsung thing? Any help is appreciated. For now, the phone is casting fine.

If your using chromecast then you just hit the cast screen button in the Chromecast Home app.
Hi everyone,
I'm having problems connecting my Oneplus 3T to a Samsung Smart TV.
I tried using WiFi direct with no luck and also using another Android device as a WiFi hotspot but when I try to cast screen from device setting both the phone and the TV stay stuck on connecting and after several minutes they give up and disconnect.
I also tried using the "Localcast" app and I can view photos, videos and listen to music on the TV but it doesn't have an option to mirror the entire screen.
At a friend's house I tried to mirror to his Chromecast and it worked perfectly.
Phone is full stock, no root, latest OOS 4.1.6
Miracast seems to be quite buggy, Chromecast is a much more stable solution, albeit proprietary and only available on Android-based Samsung TV:s and Chromecast dongles. Unfortunately I have no solution for you other then recommending getting a Chromecast, I do have this same Miracast mirror crash when connecting to my LG Netcast-OS based TV.

Just out of curiosity, which samgsun tv model do you own? I am facing this same issue with my one plus 3t trying to connect to my SamsungKU6000. On the other side I have no propblems connecting to my other LG tv with wb OS 3.0
I go to settings>display>cast and it works for me.. I have a 6300 curved Samsung 2016 I believe
Can anyone cast screen using Chromecast? Used to be able to do that with several other devices. But on this device, I get msg that screen not optimized for Chromecast. I can cast videos from different apps, but can't cast the phone screen anymore.
Please check and let me know what you're experiencing.
Tried right now and it works. Buggy, but it works. And with buggy I mean 1 out of 3 or 4 times I cast, it ends after a few seconds with a "casting has ended" for no reason. But when it does work, it goes for hours with no problems...
Odd. Screen casting using an Xperia X Compact (with its slower processor and less RAM) is fine, but on the XZ1C it disconnects or freezes nearly every time. I have found a workaround, however. The app "Web Video Caster" works reliably, and can access the full storage, including an SD card, using a built-in file explorer. Offers subtitle search and can play everything I have thrown at it so far.

Chromecast works perfect for me.
But I have read that the Chromecast dongle needs excellent wifi to work properly, ideally within ten foot of a fast router.
@Didgesteve
It's curious how I've done everything short of completely resetting the phone, including updating firmware on both phone and Chromecast, and the screen cast connection is almost never maintained for more than a few seconds, if it connects at all to begin with. However, through a 3rd party application, as I indicated above, the connection is reliable, as is also the case for all connections (including the built-in screen casting) on the Xperia X compact..

Have you tried the Chromecast in another enviroment, different wifi setup?
Are there any power cables or transformers near the back of the TV? The ariel for the TV may be built into the frame, whilst the Chromecast might suffer being lumped next to all the power connectors at the back.
Try sending it back for a replacement, you might have a duff unit.
Hello, a fellow 3T owner here!
Just installed the latest OxygenOS 5.0.1 update and after that I am unable to cast my screen to my cars screen via Miracast. I am able to connect to my car via Wi-Fi but after turning "Cast" on I get the error message: "Connected, no internet". Before the update everything was working fine.
Does anybody have a similar issue? Any solutions?
Thanks!
Have you tried casting to another smart display? Something like your Laptop/PC? On Windows 10, search for the Program "Connect" and use the same way to connect to it.
Why? To nail down where the issue may be, in your phone or your Car Screen. Also, try using another Miracast Compatible device to connect to it.
Miracast
I was having the same problem...EZMira app (Playstore) works like a charm for me
I tried to cast my Mi A2 to LG Smart TV and while casting I was only able to get the home screen that too with a settings button, which is not what my phone's home screen looks like. Does anyone know a fix to it?
Also, there is another problem of hotspot and wi-fi not working together now. Any fix for that too?

Ya I am using stock android 10 only. Casting is supported, I can cast my other phones on TV and I can even cast YouTube through other casting app. It's just that I am not able to mirror the screen and also not able to screen cast YouTube directly.
Also, if you are talking about extending feature in developer settings, that I have already tried but no luck, still it doesn't opens wifi and hotspot at the same time
