What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
How do you know it's not as bright as it should be?
When did this start happening?
How long has it been going on?
Just saying, "this doesn't work, please help" doesn't give us any information. Imgaine taking your car to the mechanic and just saying, "my car doesn't work correctly. Fix it." Then just walking off.

I have compared my note 7 and note 8 led flash light with other phones, And yes, compared to others it seems to be less bright, but, the intensity is adecuate for the camera, the light intensity is designed to work fine with the camera's parameters it is not meant to be used as an illuminating lantern for other purposes, the important thing is to check if your dark enviroment photos using flash come out as they should

Camera Issues

Hello,
I've tried to find this issue in the forums, but can't.
I have a problem with my camera on the AT&T Tilt (8925), it really slows down in low light settings. Unless it's really bright or sunny it takes horrible pictures. The preview mode jumps and skips.(I'm using the ROM it came with)
The 8525 that I had before would take pictures and video no problem in semi low light situations, but the Tilt is not even close.
Please let me know if other people are having the same problem or if you think I have a defective unit or something is wrong with the ROM.
I don't think anyone has ever had a problem with their camera in low light. It must be just your phone. I would take it back to ATT and demand a refund and a free phone for your troubles.
i agree, i think not a single person in this forum has any issue with using the camera in low light conditions. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if you look in the kaiser wiki, you will see nothing about low fps in the camera at all.

Haha, that was sweet. No one was suggesting that you check out the wiki and you totally did not get the hint that they were not hinting.

Oh, which reminds me, I was going to bring this up after I tested it as working or not.
I had a webcam that had the same problem as this phone's does.
Point being, I was going to install the latest camera software because that one (the 5.xx version) had different registry settings than the 4.xx one did. And I THINK, that there was a registry setting that defined the different increments available for the lighting scenarios.
EG: you should be able to deactivate the camera's ability to auto adjust to light, or at least increase the time before it does to some unholy number.

How can you say you couldn't find the answer? There are tons of threads and a classaction law suite (or something like that) with this problem stamped all over it.

It still needs light. And the best and easiest way is to use the flash as a focus aid.
i know that but op said low light not no light
Is the same thing that afflicts me.. When NO LiGHT, would be nice to see flash to focus.. Because the phone is unable to focus in that condition..

when i press the capture button flash comes on for a sec or 2 and it focuses then flash goes off then flashes again when it takes photo
Mine turns the flash on before taking the photo, it's not focused though!
I have 1.29.708.4, an early 1.29 build, so hoping for improvements soon.
It also puts the screen on max brightness, which is a bit excessive when it's pitch black. Have to turn screen off and back on again for the ambient light sensor to reactive and auto brightness to work.
ok, but why me and OP haven't this feature? is a software thing i hope..

Light sensor curiosity

Hello all,
I tried to look and did not see a similar question.
Yes, there is no ambient light sensor adjustment in the software, but clearly there is a sensor hardware on the front. There is the camera, there is the proximity sensor and there is the ambient sensor, just like bigger S3.
My guess is it is just not embedded in the software, because of laziness or what, I am not sure. My older phone had the same issue (Xperia Ray) there was indeed a light sensor but it wasn't effective. Yet there was many ways to recover the functionality at XDA forums.
Any way to revive it?
The front camera can be used as a light sensor. You need to install Lux Auto Brightness. Works like a charm for me. Please check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282025

Thanks for the advice, it is a nice solution but this makes me ask how much damage to battery stamina is given? Power consumption must be way higher than ambient sensor.
Biggest problem is that THERE IS A SENSOR, so using a camera is only a ad-hoc solution while the sensor is already there
Thanks anyway,

It seems logical to me too that a camera will use more power than a light sensor. But I haven't done any measuring to get that confirmed. I don't think the difference is dramatic though. Anyway the advantage of having auto-brightness on my device outweighs the extra battery drain for me.
So there is a sensor, but as long as no one is able to make use of it I'm glad I have this as a workaround. Please let me know when you've managed to get the sensor activated. :victory:

It actually is very accurate and does not add any obvious battery drain (it doesn't appear on the Battery Usage screen) - you may optimize it further by triggering it with Tasker only when you unlock your phone, and otherwise disabling it when the screen turns off.

Mate 20 Lite Notification LED out of place?

I just got my Mate 20 Lite through amazon, but I noticed something weird with the notification LED.. it looks a bit out of place to the right, is this normal?
Should I ask for a refund?
Here are some pictures of the issue.

Wow, this makes no sense, the phone was perfect but that just ruined it.. can't even see it in the dark.. I always use my phone on silent and really needed that feature..
Lol my led is on the left in the speaker grill
The LED should be on the right of the speaker grill - it's meant to be that way, but is very dim. However, a recent firmware update increased the LED's brightness (not by much).
Btw, the LED is actually RGB (controller and diode) but Huawei disabled that function, for some reason. You can get RBG functionality back by using third-party apps.

I wonder why they've made such a dumb decision..
That is the correct place. Huawei always have put the LED in stranges places...
Anyway, just be glad that Mate 20 even have a LED. Many phones doesn't come with that...

Not sure if they disabled to make it more visible
Yup, it's supposed to be like that. A stupid move if you ask me. Going from an Honor 8 (has the LED in its speaker grill too but it's very bright) to this was a shock. In daylight you can't even see it.

You can test every color, you can specify your own ones, but you can only test it, with screen turned off.

Question Camera Auto Flash Issue

I bought Mi 11 ultra yesterday and I found that in-camera app when I enable the auto-flash option and take photos in dark/night scenarios, flash doesn't work at all, even if it's complete black or pitch black, and works normally when it's enabled. I'm not sure whether it's a hardware issue (I hope not) but I started to feel a little concerned about this issue.

LOL, this thread and responses are a joke. Before starting a thread about help for some app, you should at least first check settings of that app for a solution. Just go to camera settings and disable "Enhance image quality". It says in description that in low light conditions it will turn on night mode if that option is enabled and that is what you do not want, you want normal capture with flash light. Yes, you can argue that this design is not logical, but that is MIUI for you. Still, no excuse for not checking settings.

Firstly, you can be a little more respectful when you're actually trying to help someone and not joke about it because it can happen to anyone.
Secondly, normal capture with auto-flash still doesn't work even after disabling the "enhance image quality" option in camera settings. I don't know if it doesn't work the way it should then IDK why that option is still there in the camera.

When it is easy solution, jokes are with justification.
And normal capture with auto flash works when you disable "enhance image quality". Just tested it myself. Flash turns on in low light scenes only. Try to cover your camera with hand to make it pitch black. It should display yellow flash icon that tells you that it will turn on flash when capturing that scene.

Most covers protect also the camera lenses and might also cover the sensor or at least disturb it.

in the worst case scenario, backup everything and do a factory reset. then you can be sure which is the issue to your camera.
I have noticed one thing, when I switch to 5x then auto flash works and it also works in dual camera mode but doesn't work in 1x or normal capture mode.
