Hi Everyone,
actually i got a question here, is the Icy Glitch V14 is usable under TeamHackSung ICS ROM Build 15?
currently i using the latest Devil Kernel, but just want to try to play with other kernel as well.
and also, i not sure my step is correct or wrong when i flash from stock kernel to devil kernel.
The step i using is :
1) reboot in recovery mode
2) wipe partition cache
3) wipe kelvik cache
4) install zip from SD card (install devil kerner)
5) reboot phone once install successfully.
its working fine but just want to know more about this
Yes, that is correct (apart from it's actually cache partition and dalvik cache). Personally, I find Devil kernel 14.2 led the best, reflashed back down after using 15. Much more snappy and responsive.
argh...now i found out that my WIFI will ON and OFF for non stop after i turn on WIFI by using devil kernel build 15.
i flashed to glitch V14 now and seem work fine. but i feel like my phone is going become lagger and lagger after i keep on changing and flash the kernel...
I've flashed the latest devil kernel (Devil_15.1_LED2.zip) and after the Modded framework-res.apk for build 15. Apparently it seems that all works, but looking to settings in telephone info I can't read devil kernel nowhere, as you can see from the attached image. Something was wrong in the flash operation?
Yes devil seems the best for me, i got only bootlops with glitch when i tried..
devils works for me, but pawit works well as well
why i must install cwm every time boot into built-in recovery?
i am lpf +rooted +super su + speed mod kernael
because most likely you're using a version of speedmod kernel where CWM isn't installed by default.
I believe he added CWM in r3 ,download the latest version and you're good to go
i'm want to flash skyhigh v1.4d kernel on my galaxy s plus
it has a stock rom but i have flashed it with updated driver for gpu
teamwin recovery
so is it ok to flash this kernel on my phone
please help as i'm new to this
if its not then please give me some advice
and does having this kernel will increase the performance of my phone
Hi, i have flashed a kernel, called broodkernel with the teamwin recovery so far an it worked flawless The Skyhigh kernel has so far as i know overclocking features which makes your device faster (if you really overclock it to for example 1,8 GHz)... but it also increase your battery drain So i would recommend the broodkernel which is a tweaked stock kernel..

But with every kernel that has a flashable .zip it is possible to flash it with cwm or teamwin recovery

does flashing the broodkernel delete my personal file data that i have stored on my usb storage(internal card)
hello..
my problem is that my i9000 phone can only work successfully with a Stock ROM + Kernel OR
with a custom kernel + Devil3 Kernel
so any custom rom that based on Semaphore or Meckeys or Cyanogen Kernel Will NOT WORK
it will stuck on restart loop (after showing kernel logo) ---> as with semaphore + cyanogen kernels
OR : Freeze (after showing kernel logo) --> as with Meckeys kernel
and after freezing recovery mode is not available only download mode !
some more complexity !!
Even if i flashed Devil3 Kernel (using odin) my phone will always reboot into recovery
So the only thing is working for me is a ROM with Devil3 Kernel already integrated ---> ex: HellyBean
HellyBean is good but it has one fetal problem --> the wifi problem most of the time the wifi option is not available and stuck ON
"Turning Wi-Fi On"
Any help pleaaaaaaaaase in hopeless now !!!
If you can get into recovery, then try to format /system, wipe cache &dalvik and factory reset and then flash ROM again.
Hello
I have installed newest Mackay ROM 21 Dec. from this thread: Mackay ROM thread. Installation goes without any problems. When rom boots up I figured out there is missing Kernel Settings (when I tap Mackay kernel settings nothing happens), there is also no folder such "/system/mackay". I tried also "problem solution flash":
If you get an error (like metadata or anything), do the following:
-Download omni-4.4-kernel_selinux.zip from:
http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Samsung/Galaxy+S/MackayROM/KK
-Flash this kernel from you current recovery
-Choose reboot recovery (this should bring you to a blue-colored TWRP)
-Continue with the steps above

After reboot into recovery I had same 2.6.3 oragne-colored TWRP (why?), I reflashed again Mackay ROM and nothing changed, still no kernel settings.
If it's omni based Mackay as opposed to cm based mackay rom then there was a bug that made Mackay settings not open, or to be more exact it force closed when you tried to open it..
I'm using cm based Mackay which has working Mackay settings, and I'm unsure if the bug has been fixed in the latest omni version. Best thing to do would be post in the omni Mackay thread, or just search the thread and you may find your answer....
