My review on invsibleSHIELD and zaGGskin

Hey everyone,
I recently purchases a custom zagg skin and the invsibleSHIELD ,
The zaggskin is easy to put on the back of your HD2 , its a little bit smaller, but that makes the process of putting it on easier (It took me like 2 min?),
Before the invsibleSHIELD I tried various screen-protectors , but I always had bubbles or dust underneath them.
With the invsibleSHIELD I just followed instructions , and volla , no airbubles, no dust , its makes the screen even brighter.
One negative point about it, its pricey , i ordered mine during Memorial Day (50 percent off),

How can a cover make the screen brighter? Are these skins polarized or something? I'm curious.

All this is rubbish, I understand the need for a big silicon or hard cover to protect your phone from drops but what is the point of the invisible shield when you cant scratch the phone anyway. There is no way it can make the screen brighter, or make you see better in the sun.
Some screen protector companies even claimed that only the person looking right at the device can see the screen, so therefore if someone was trying to peak over to see what you are doing they couldn't, well I ordered that and obviously it is not true not even slightly dimmed from the sides. so don't believe everything they say.

i wont take the chance of scratching my screen even if its impossible
invisible shield is not only on the front but on the back too.
its less sensitive for oily fingerprints - maybe that is why it looks a little bit brighter than without. before i had it, it was difficult to see in sunlight and now its better.
plus, the device wont slip of your hand, again do to the back cover.
so, i recommend invisible shield sincerely

My zagg sheild pretty much rendered my HD2 useless. The screen was really desensitized way too much. I'm not surprised...the zagg shield is so thick and durable that if I didn't have to "touch use" my screen, it would have been perfect. I ended up tearing of the $20+ protector and discarding it...

No problems here, and the screen protector isn't that thick, its just even thick like any other screen protector ,

The HD2 screen can be scratched, there are examples of it on this forum, just search.
Spending $10-20 on a quality screen protector is probably the cheapest insurance you could get to protect your screen if/when you scratch the protector and the scratch becomes unbearable, spend $10-20 on a new one
Though Ive not seen one before for mobile phones, there are privacy screens for laptop/desktop monitors. These screens significantly blur the image unless you are directly in front of the screen, if you tilt the screen more than 10degrees or so the screen will blur. These are used a lot in medical/financial institutions, sensitive departments within companies like HR. Ive seen these appearing on ATMs now too
I will agree there is no protector that will make your screen "brighter" that's just about impossible, anything put over the screen is actually going to attenuate any light coming though it, though it may not be perceivable. Certain protectors may eliminate screen glare, making the screen easier to see in certain lighting conditions

ohhh yeah, believe me the screen CAN be scratched! got two very nice ones to prove it. lol

Well about the brighter , i have the the shield now for a week, the screen looks better because there are no fingerprints on the screen , further its scrolls smoother

Sorry but I'd stay clear from Zagg's Invisible Shiled as it is not really effective nor fully stand their claim "as advertised".
After 3-4 months of use (in tropical countries or desert areas), the sands/dirts snug into the linings, then started to peel off little by little.
Had this product on my Fuze and then my Topaz a while back, not very happy about it.
The only good things about the product is (1)fancy retail packaging, and (2)their screen protector. Sorry.

This cover is useless. I removed it after a couple of hours. What's the use of having a screen protector that doesn't cover the whole screen? Apart from the fact that it makes the screen look ugly.

It needs to sit for at least 12 or more hours to let the solution and bubbles disappear. If you had it on for a couple of hours and not days, then you did not read the instructions If applied properly you should not see it. If it looks ugly, it was not done properly or you did not let it cure long enough before using the device.
I have noticed that not all of the plastic used with Zagg products seem to be the same. I have applied one on my Tilt2 (aka. Touch Pro 2) and it did not feel like the texture of an "orange peal" like I have seen written in some reviews. I no longer have the Invisa Shield on the screen as it started to come up on the edges by the chrome phone edging causing lint, dust, etc. to collect under. I also noticed it turn a slight yellow. The colour change was odd as I don't smoke or hang out with smokers. It could be from rubbing against the lining of my leather case I kept it in (although it has a black lining).
At my work we have a Zagg promo for Apple iPads and this is where I have come across the "orange peal" texture on a few of the installs. I don't think it is due to improper install as we always use the same solution and method of install for each one.
In short:
the pros: it protects well against scratches and minimizes the look of finger prints
the cons: could gain a yellow tinge after several months, not easy to remove dust/dirt if it gets under edges, and not easy to apply first time around for most.
My advice for capacitive screens is to not spend lots on a screen protector. The cheep vinyl protectors may not look as good but will work just as well. Remember: all capacitive screens are made of glass which will not scratch under normal use. If you keep your phone in your pocket, the chances for scratching will increase as sand or tiny bits of gravel can collect in the lining and rub against the screen. Even keys can scratch if enough pressure is applied. For those who saw the YouTube HD2 scratch test, did you see how much pressure was applied to the keys, knife, and scissors? Not enough to scratch it, add enough and it will...

How many times there have to be said that this capacitive screen is not made from GLASS, there are enough people one the web which HD2 got scratched, believe they will scratch

I have the full body zagg skin. Gotta say it's great. Simple to apply and really keeps the device from getting scratched. Even protects the corner. Don't get what the complaint above was about. It covers the screen so wtf are you talking about? Only thing I wish they'd fix is that you can't apply a skin or case over it. If you do it'll get stuck to it unless it's like a cloth case or something. Hope they fix that issue one day. Still not bad, plus I did like the OP and ordered on Memorial Day for like 12 dollars.

How does it cover the Back ?

Glue softens
I have to say I was happy for around 5 months - until it started to get warmer. Then the glue started to soften and smear out from under the shield. It made the screen look a bit of a mess and ultimatly the corners started to flap about because all of the glue had gone. Contacted Zagg customer support and they admitted this can happen when warm and humid. They suggested I use their replacement service but why should I pay around 6€ for postage in both directions if as soon as it gets warm it will be a mess again. Not very impressed. I'll stick to the electrostatic screen shields in the future. Can anybody recommend one?

Screen protector scratched by... included applicator card and microfiber cloth?

So I picked up a screen protector on Amazon by ArmorSuit... it seemed to have solid reviews and I heard reports of great customer service, so I spent the 20 bones to pick one up. I just now applied it, and it went on well without a hitch. Since it was a wet protector and majority of my screen protector experience was with dry ones, I watched the YouTube video and also thoroughly read the instructions. Last thing I wanted to do was install a wet protector incorrectly and mess up my device.
Once done I checked out the finish. Despite the fact it's been 20 minutes and not 12-24 hours like they say to let it sit, I noticed lots of tiny scratches on it, which definitely looked like it was from the applicator card. What baffles me more is I have a microfiber cloth that came with the kit that I was wiping the screen off with... I noticed even swirly scratches after I was done, yet this microfiber cloth has nothing in it whatsoever!
Er, uh. Has anybody ran into anything like this with screen protector application?
Despite this, I'm still relatively happy with the screen protector as it fits perfectly and was very quick and easy to install. That being said, I'm still a little disappointed in what I'm seeing here, but I'd still trade hairline scratches that aren't that visibleat all (and not visible whatsoever with the screen lit up) versus air bubbles and dust pockets which clearly are visible regardless... which is almost always the case with dry protectors... Don't get me wrong, it's not like it's a series of key-gouging lines here, but when video installation guide shows the tilted tablet glaring off of the ceiling light to show it is 100% smooth and flush with a perfect glass-like surface, that's where I can see these very fine marks.
Maybe, just maybe, this is some sort of epic self-healing screen protector that'll remove those blemishes over the next day as it sits. :laugh: Yes, just maybe.

My ArmorSuit came with a nice horizontal scratch in it and these visible shallow 'gouges'. I'm guessing from the installation card. I'm getting rid of it as it just doesn't look clean. Looks like a thin slab of rubber and not perfectly flat like the glass. YMMV though as I know I didn't install it Grade A, but still, I can't imagine that this screen protector can look or feel like glass.
Part of me like the feel of these wet protectors, but it does feel unnatural and sort of tiring to use. I opted for the 3-pack of CrazyOnDigital (clear) protectors. I figure I will mess up 1, get 1 right, and keep 1 for next year.

For installing via wet method (sounds dirty no? lol) you have to get almost everything but the device "wet". That includes your fingers and the screen protector (both sides) itself and also the squeegee or card or whatever you call it...
I have seen what is called 'burn' marks if not properly wet. Sucks I know! But The wet products in my experience are always great when finally dry. I have the XO skin and it's about totally dry. Looks great IMO.

I'm not sure how much more wet you can get a screen protector when it's already dripping, which was the status of it when I placed it on the screen. Likewise, I did wash my hands just prior and also had my hands both completely saturated in the provided fluid.
Burn marks sounds like some food for thought, but I'm unsure how you can get a burn mark from a microfiber cloth when I'm wiping the screen off in a circular motion. I mean, I didn't attach it to a circular sander or anything...
So in the event this magical self healing thing doesn't live up, what other screen protector would you guys recommend? I definitely want to go with a wet application, as I'm already able to tell a world of difference, but I'm a little dissatisfied with how incredibly sensitive this protector is to scratches. It's great you can take a dremel to it and it still protects the actual tablet screen but when a microfiber cloth scratches it I can't say it impresses me.

Regarding the marks on your screen protector:
Any filmy marks, air bubbles, swirl marks or haze underneath the screen protector is due to the solution, which can take up to 2 weeks to go away. It typically doesn't take this long, but it will eventually go away because the material is designed to be breathable. This will release any trapped solution.
Regarding the scratches on your screen, here is a quick and easy fix.
1. Please turn off your device.
2. With your screen protector still on your device, spray 1 pump on the screen protector and then spread the solution evenly with the included microfiber cloth.
3. The scratches should then disappear soon, within a few days at the very most because the material is self-healing.

I guess I'll have to be a little more patient and see what happens.

Not sure why they don't just put this in the instructions, but here's a trick:
When you're pushing the bubbles out, put the piece of plastic that you peeled the protector off of over the screen. Don't ever use the squeegee directly on the screen.

I thought the same thing, but once I realized that the microfiber cloth was giving swirl marks, that whole premise behind that idea kind of crumbled. If a microfiber cloth will legitimently give this screen protector swirl scratches from wiping it clean, then that's pretty fail.
That being said, I'm remaining quite optimistic about this "self healing" thing. Maybe I will see them slowly disappear? Who knows. It is a little more comforting knowing they have a lifetime guarantee, but we'll tackle that conversation when/if it ever becomes necessary. At any rate, I keep reminding myself - at least the screen protector still looks 1000% better than any dry screen protector AND it's protecting the screen in the process. :good:

I ordered the exact same 3-pack and I have to say they're great. Got it perfect on the first try and it looks crystal clear. It looks a lot better than those $10-$20 dollar protectors out there.

Feel your pain. I've done all what you have except for trying the glass ones.
Here is my experience. Get wet applied plastic one that is harder than the usual wet applied ones. A person on another thread recommend a Walmart Onn brand , I used it and it didn't leave S Pen marks at all. However, it was a ***** to fit correctly, so I being OCD I removed it and went back to the usual wet applied one again that does leave S Pen marks.
I believe Tech21 makes a screen protector similar in characteristics as the Walmart ONN one . Ain't tried that yet. But I can tell you that if the the Walmart ONN screen protector was applied correctly then I'd still be a fan.

So your criteria would be: best protection available without fingerprints, reflections, or s-pen marks? Might be tough without compromising a bit on one of those aspects. I've tried 2 cheap glass ones that I took off immediately, the Spigen film protectors that leave s-pen marks, and the Whitestone Dome which which was best for me of the bunch (no s-pen marks of course, and no fingerprint issues so far. Haven't paid attention to reflection issues as of yet). The new Zagg glass looks promising too...ymmv

I like Skinomi. You get some s pen marks but they go away overnight. I use the spen alot too, it's my preferred way to interact with the screen.

Go naked and live with it. I have been there, where you say to be and feel your pain. I just gave up and live with it. In case I really manage to break or badly scratch it, I will have to get a new one or live with it. All is better than the smudgy protectors giving a bad feeling to the touch and a bad view.

Beach and sand indeed is an issue. I do not live on the beach but was there last summer (S8+, no pen, easier situation) and was so glad to have a film protector on it.
Bite the bullet and get a Whitestone dome?

If I may offer an alternative suggestion? I did not even want to risk the screen protector lottery on this phone, so I took a different approach.
I have used a case with a built-in screen protector. I feel it gives me the best of both worlds; ultimate protection from drops and screen damage when out and about, and in a couple of seconds (when at home and the soft safety of my sofa), it can be out of its case and back to a slippery naked unblemished masterpiece.

Cons:
Minor reduction in finger sensitivity at the edges.
Adds significant bulk, especially in width making one-handed use impractical

Pros:
Zero reduction in S Pen sensitivity.
Phone is tank-like. Has survived drops onto solid concrete no problem.
Screen protector can be popped out and used just as case if desired.
Dust caps for charging and headphone sockets
Easy to take off and have naked phone
It all balances out IMO. It might not be a perfect solution, but it is mine and I am happy with it.

I would advise against it, especially in a sandy environment. It WILL find a way in and then have a party with your screen. Also, in my personal opinion, this is way too bulky.
Personally, I am using a pitaka case. I am also having a thin, blank film on the back because ofscrarch protecting the back.

i'm using the official one for S8+ and it's very good, the s-pen does not leave any mark

I have used all types and found my favorite to be the tech21. No sensitivity issues, screen is clear, no spen marks, and decent with dealing with fingerprints. I couldn't use another after using this one.

Wouldn't it be just nice if Samsung offered a factory glass screen protector as an option when buying these devices. I'm sure they are aware of customers concerns - surely they have the technology to be able to do this, albeit probably not financially viable hence no go.

Anyone Removing Inner Screen Protector?

If you do can you post a video and the steps you use. I've heard the screen is much better without it but I'm extremely nervous about removing it.

My Fold2 doesn't arrive until tomorrow. I haven't decided if I'm going to remove it yet since i haven't seen it in person.

I did it... It was very easy.. The screens feel better but it looks the same to me... If you don't like the feel of the screen protectors than just remove it... Do it slow and take your time but it very easy to do.. it also doesn't collect as much fingerprints on it now...

I bit the bullet and removed the screen protector from the inside screen. It was extremely easy, I just used a sheet of paper to gently pull away from the camera cutout enough to grasp it and pull off as easily as any other protector.
I can confirm the screen feels fantastic now, instead of a rubbery sticky feeling to that of glass. It also no longer attracts fingerprints. It seems more responsive and sharper.
I think as long as you take care not to get anything abrasive on the screen it will remain in good condition.

YES its just as delicate as the Fold1 inner screen. ( See link to video in Indian forum.)
WHY are folks so keen to remove the factory fitted film so soon after purchase of a $2000 device?
By all means remove it (and replace it) after 6 months if it has picked up a scratch or two but until then LIVE WITH the fingerprints magnet and let the film protect the expensive and delicate main screen underneath it.

I understand what you are saying but the original Fold did not have this factory fitted screen protector. I read a lot of people's experiences with that device, stating that the screen is more durable than first anticipated and no real reports of extensive problems relating to scratches over the many months of use. The Fold 2 has a more durable construction than that and I am confident it will live up to the same expectations, provided you take a little more care overall than you would a regular phone. Also someone mentioned that the screen protector hardly protects it anyway, you can still dig a fingernail into it without too much pressure.
The rubbery sticky texture of the screen protector left me feeling disappointed when using the inner screen, and constant smudges (which weren't quick and easy to remove compared to a glass screen) that impaired the clarity and sharpness of the display. So after careful thought I removed it, and now it just feels like a proper glass screen and fingerprints are no longer an issue. The experience is vastly improved and I don't feel that the screen is vulnerable either.
If it turns out that the screen suffers from damage in the next 12 months, then I will get it replaced for £100 and then consider keeping the protector on. But for now I am more than happy with the reasons for removing it.

For me, I found myself applying greater pressure when cleaning the fingerprints and smudges on the installed screen protector, and cleaning it more frequently. That continual process is surely more detrimental to the device than worrying about the possibility of a scratch. A quick swipe with a microfiber cloth now takes care of things and puts my mind at ease.
With the addition of the little feet on the bezel of the inner screen, there is a much lessened chance of debris getting caught between the folded screen.

I'm with apprentice on this one and agree pretty much down the line. I asked this question on the OG thread as did another fellow and there was not one report of problems with screen scratching and all reported it had proved more durable than expected in reference to the entire device.
I've got the screen replacement in one year if it proves to be worse than expected. If I need to I'll look at getting back into a protector after the replacement should it be needed. In the end of it for me the only thing crazier than spending 2k on this device is spending 2k on this device and not enjoying it. The screen protector was detracting from my experience enough for me to want it gone and having removed I now know more than I realized. I'm not going to cheer-lead on this one but if a person was seriously bothered by the thing as I was then I would certainly recommend giving it a try while you still have your cheap out with the screen replacement.

So this afternoon I opened up my ZF2 and I saw 2 big bubbles underneath the screen protector. I tried to squeegee them out but to no avail. I wasn't planning on removing the screen protector but this point I had no choice. Used my ifixit spudger right at the selfie camera spot and it came up very easy. It does feel and look much better I must admit. I still have the front screen protector still on and I probably won't take it off anytime soon. Then again, on my S10e I still ahve the factory screen protector on and it still looks great.

I purchased the SaharaCase protector from bestbuy as well as the Orzero 2 pack from Amazon. These are the exact same with a few caveats. They are as follows :

I went ahead and applied the inner screen protector. I like the way it feels over the original. It’s smoother and closer to a glass feel. I’m waiting a full day to ensure that the micro bubbles disappear. If they do, then Orzero is a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR GO. 3 Majors.

It has been less than 24 hours and I want to provide an update...
THIS SCREEN PROTECTOR IS ALMOST PERFECT!!! It is very smooth to the touch. Almost all of the imperfections from my install are gone. There are 3 small bubbles that I’m waiting to disappear, but they have already shrunk. I think anyone looking for an upgrade over the default protector will be well served to grab a few of these. I say a few because it might take a few attempts to get it right, but at 11 dollars its worth it. Good luck everyone and let me know if you have any other questions.

There was a bubble and what looked like a small bit of dirt under the factory screen protector so I removed it. It was really easy to do and the screen feels great. I had the F1 which never had a screen protector and never had any issue with it so I think the F2 will be the same without it.

Did you own the OG Fold? I did. The inside screen was far from fragile. Granted I take really good care of my device but the inside screen looked new after 8 months of use. I hate the screen protector Samsung used on the inside screen of the Fold 2. It's hazy, tacky to the touch, and a fingerprint magnet. I'm taking it off it's just a matter of when.

Any updates on this? How's the inner screen holding up for those of you that removed the inner screen protector?
I've had my phone for a week and really don't like the feel and smudginess of the inner screen protector and thus really want to peel it off.
Also, if appreciate if those of you who removed it could make a comment about how you handle your devices - ie. do you baby it or treat it more or less like any other phones?

Keeping mine on for now, I actually don't mind the feel of it and like the idea of the extra protective layer. Just waiting on cases to become available and ill be happy.

Zero issues here... No regrets whatsoever. Feels, looks so much better than that rubbery crap it came with. Does make me feel a bit more cautious of course, but not enough to detract from normal usage and showing it off.

The Orzero got terrible reviews on Amazon. Most say it's horrendous. You really like it?
Did you install over the stock screen protector?

WHY are folks so keen to remove the factory fitted film so soon after purchase of a $2000 device?
By all means remove it (and replace it) after 6 months if it has picked up a scratch or two but until then LIVE WITH the fingerprints magnet and let the film protect the expensive and delicate main screen underneath it.

Question Decent screen protector

Hey guys. I just got my Find X3 Pro and am absolutely loving it so far, but I'm not loving the screen protector that came on it. Has anyone ventured to try any of the tempered glass or TPU ones on Amazon yet?

May i ask if you removed that build in plastic - cheap looking - screen protector? in case you did remove it did you notice if the screen looks better ? f.e. brigher etc? cause i have not yet removed it but i think it dims the screen a bit...

I removed it because i really felt the rims when using the gestures from the sides and bottom.
Didn't notice more brightness.

I haven't removed the screen protector yet, the screen must be really hard I damaged the screen protector the first day.
I put my phone in my pocket whilst removing an ATM (legally) and it's just wrinkled the edge , with no damage to the screen at all!
The only screen protectors I've been tempted to get are on eBay and they are tempered glass privacy ones from China to the UK.
I'll update what they are like.

The first in tempered glass and with curved edges and the second is gel film.
The first is bad because the edges go to touch the cases (which we all use to protect it from falls) causing the uplift of the side edges with consequent loss of touch sensitivity.
The second is much better but it also has the same problems with the covers. I resolved cutting the side edges and the corners of the gel film with a cutter.

I never managed to have a perfect screen protector. You ALWAYS feel the sides of the screen protector when you slide your finger over it (for example to slide from the curved side or from the top to open the notifications). Apparently I'm overly sensitive for that

Put a hydrogel and dont put your case on for 2-3 days. After that you should be able to easily put the case on without any risk of hydrogel uplifting.

Is the hydro gel bad for the original screen guys? Looked at it several times but don't dare to apply

Why are u afraid of? Its like a screen protector but more flexible/gummy. Water is used to apply it on the screen.

don't use screen protectors at all they make you screen get worse but IF YOU NEED ONE hydro gel are weak af and don't do jack **** to protect you phone but make the screen look less worse than temped tempered are the opposite more strong but less visability

The case is the display's primary protection*.
It should be slightly raised on the edge above the display and more so on the top/bottom.
I prefer using a wet apply urethane screen protector as the are easy to place, long lasting and inexpensive.
In 2 years of using the Zizo Bolt case and Gorilla IQ Sheild on my Note 10+ there's been zero damage to the phone in spite of a lot of drop onto concrete. Try as you may, eventually they take the plunge... a good case will save them almost everytime at heights of 2-5 feet onto concrete.
*the screen protector's primary role is protection from sand scratches and then marring protection when dropped. A tempered screen may seem strong but it can directly transfer the force of an impact to the display and break it.
Glass is a witchy substance that sometimes seems to defy the laws of physics. Ask any glazier.
Some of the laws of hydraulics apply to glass. Stress on one point may be transposed to another portion of the panel. If a spot is already under stress or has been stressed, it can fracture with only a small insult.

I found some decent ones on MediaDevil here in the UK much better than the standard one!

I usually wait a few hours if it's hot, no issues.
Simply reseating it if it breaks away works well as long as no dust reaches it first. A bit of the attachment solution can be also used.
This type of protectors last me 6+ months and remain almost clear even at 6 months.
The display must be completely lint/dust free though. Wet your clean fingers before touching protector during placement.
What you didn't see... you will see latter

The easiest way to avoid dust ("ivisible" one as well) on screen is to go to the bathrom and turn on warm water under the shower/in the bathtub and leave it for 15 min with closed door and window (if you have it). Then go to the bathroom with your phone and apply the screen protector. I can guarantee there will be no dust under.

Well if you need a clear screen protector then you can try gadgetshieldz screen protector. I'm using it on my Find X3 Pro for 3 months now and there are no bubble issues and this goes well with a curved screen.
