I'm using my phone in my car and using this phone I've noticed that the phone doesn't keep the landscape orientation whenever it goes to sleep and is unlocked via the fingerprint reader.
I've just tested the P10 lite which has the same issue, so it's properly a emui-thing, however it's pretty annoying and seems like a pretty essential feature, having to turn the phone horizontal and then back to landscape each time it goes to sleep.
Any experts out there that knows a way to fix the issue?

I recently bought a used Nexus One, but it's in great shape. It was preloaded with CM 6.0 RC1, so I decided to update it to stable CM 6.1.1.
I love the phone and CM, but there seems to be an issue whenever waking up the phone from sleep.
If I have the phone on a perfectly even surface (table, etc.), wake up and unlock the phone, it will sometimes wake up with the screen orientation in landscape mode instead of portrait. This even occurs when I lock the screen in portrait mode.
Another issue is when I'm using my phone in bed. When I lay down and hold my phone above my head to browse and stuff, the phone will act very oddly. For example, if I'm in the browser and scrolling up and down with my fingers, it would register as a press on the soft keys. This ONLY occurs when I hold the phone above my head to use the phone (imagine the phone upside down).
Any ideas? There seems to be something loose in the phone. I searched the forums and people guess that the accelerometer is loose, but it's normal.
I have this too. My phone is unusable if its flat, i.e if it's layed down on a table. If i do this the screen barely responds at all to touch.
Anyone else having this issue? It's pretty annoying!
I was lying down on my back. Hands up looking at phone. I watched some video. I viewed some pictures. I turned it off and shortly after I got up to plug it into the charger.
When I turned the screen on to verify my alarm was set, the screen is normally portrait in orientation was landscape. It would not rotate. So, I unlocked it in landscape mode, which is a tad awkward just because I'm not used to it.
The screen would only rotate into landscape, or portrait, but portrait was upside down! The buttons for back or home were away from me. Turn off screen and back on. Same thing. Lock screen landscape.
So, I figure I'll go do that calibration where you put your phone on a level surface. It pops up in landscape and all I could see was a letter G and rest was black screen.
Rebooting fixed the problem, but does anyone know if I might have hit something or if there's a fix without rebooting?

Personally this hasn't happened to me but I have heard of it happening. From what i have read and heard is that the proximity sensor for some reason gets stuck. i have heard of people using the old flashlight trick that was used on the M7 to fix it but a reboot fixes it every time. So I don't think you bumped anything. hope this helped .
Hey guys,
Recently, I've been having issues with my fingerprint sensor/unlock screen. Sometimes when I pull my phone out of my pocket and attempt to unlock the phone witht he fingerprint sensor, it won't respond. I then press the power button, which turns the screen on and when I use the fingerprint sensor, i can feel the vibration from the button but the screen does not unlock. There is also no fingerprint icon at the bottom. I can't unlock by swiping and putting in my password either. This eventually fixes itself after 30-45 seconds, but its really annoying when I want to use my phone. I've tried switching launchers, thinking that this might have been the problem, but this did not fix it.
I'm running stock OxygenOS 4.1.6, kernel [email protected] #1. I'm using the google launcher currently.
Its something to do with the light sensor cause i have it happen at night time when i am listening to podcasts in bed, it comes up to press one of the volume buttons and back to bypass it - but after 10 seconds it lets you unlock it anyway?
Pocket mode, try turning that off. Pocket mode uses the proximity sensor (I think) to detect whether it's in a pocket or not. If it is, then the fingerprint scanner will refuse to work so as to prevent accidental touches in the pocket
Turned it off last night. It's still happening. And it happens even when the phone is sitting on my desk. I go to try and unlock it and it won't respond.3
Delete and reset them. I find it happens after a month or so of use. I'm on Sultans marshmallow.
Originally when it happened I thought the ROM had gone bonkers and flashed back to stock. I missed the battery life too much on the CM13 build so I tried his marshmallow again. And guess what? It happed again. So I just deleted them and reset my fingerprints and voila! Snappy again.
Let me know if it works for you!
Just delete your current fingerprints and reset them. Should become snappy once again.
Happened to one of my friends and that's how I fixed it for him.
Cheers.
Never had issues with. Maybe you use it wrong side of finger, i mean you must unlock with you finger horizontally and not vertically finger

My phone has started acting wonky, not only with the finger print sensor but sometimes the touchscreen will become unresponsive, but I'll be able to turn the screen on or off. I'll have to try resetting tonight.
My K20 pro (CN) is taking photos and videos in pocket, changing music, trying to unlock phone, all on its own.
I have pocket mode enabled, double tap enabled and finger print unlock enabled. I have wake up for notification disabled.
Obviously the pocket mode isnt working properly because touch shouldn't work at all when its in pocket.
I checked my proximity sensor in engineering mode, its fine.
Any solution please? Its impossible to use it like this in outdoor.
I did some basic tests.
I turned the phone off, then covered top of the phone with my hand.
Double tap: wakes up the display but instantly turns it off. That split second of active time is enough to trigger other actions.
Finger print: Still works and unlock the phone perfectly.
So pocket mode is broken. When pocket mode is activated, touch should not work at all.
Works fine on the indian ROM. Chinese rom is junk IMO based on the 7 days I was forced to use it for.
Can you please test it and confirm on indian rom?

I've used Indian ROM since realise and never had any issues that you face whilst being in my pocket or bag
Update: for anyone else experiencing same issue.
If you directly put your hand on top of the earpiece area, touch doesnt work, as it shouldnt.
If you keep your hand even just little from the earpiece area, touch works again.
I put my phone in my pocket with upside up and downside down, so I can connect my earphone jack on top. If you use earphone outdoor you would probably do the same (unless u have an external dac/amp/bluetooth).
The thing is, my pocket isnt too deep and my guess is the earpiece area get some gaps.
It should be fixed, but I doubt if it will be.
Love the phone but have a couple of nagging issue. I am pretty familiar with the Pixel having owned the first and third iterations of the phone. Maybe I'm missing some settings but I am having the following issues:
1) at night when I put the P4XL on the Pixel stand and the lights go out it sometimes switches to the always on display and sometimes it keeps the photo album slide show going. Shouldn't the phone detect the lights out condition and automatically go into sleep mode every time? But the bigger complaint is how bright the always on display is. It lights up the corner of my bedroom. Sure, it's in the night light mode, but it's still way too bright. How do I configure the pixel to dim this sufficiently and make it automatic? Finally it does pulse occasionally between night light mode and white text and that is extremely annoying to see it flashing back and forth every 30 seconds or so.
2) Motion Sense doesn't wake up the phone. When I wake up in the morning Motion Sense does not recognize my hand picking up the phone, and does not enable face unlock to unlock the phone. I have to physically tap the screen to wake it up, then face unlock will unlock the phone. This definitely seems wrong to me.
3) face unlock rarely works in the dark. If I'm laying in bed with the lights out face unlock doesn't work. This is a very annoying issue.
Really would love to hear solutions for problem number 1 if you have them.
1) Settings - Display - Advanced - Screen saver
2) Phone could be sleeping. If I leave my Pixel alone long enough, I get the same results as you.
3) My face unlock works flawlessly in pitch black. I'm not sure what your trouble is.

1. Don't have the Pixel stand yet so I can't really comment on that.
2. Not waking up when grabbing your phone is only isolated to while on the stand? How about when picking it up from a flat?
3. Face unlock has worked perfectly in the dark for me. I even just tested in my closet. Do you have anything blocking the IR blaster or sensors at the top? Tried redoing Face Unlock?
