This might help someone.
I could be wrong but I will leave link up just because.
Does no good without the boot.img and stuff. discussed already on the one in the tmobile threads
EDIT: not even eng. this is combo.
You mean this

I downloaded the first one and extracted it. its a combo bootloader. not eng. Combo and eng are VERY different. I looked at the file name of the 2nd one and if it was eng it would be E1 instead of U1. i havent downloaded it but i know its not eng so im not going to bother to.
I dont need you to be a **** to me. I know what the files should look like and those are not them.

Well, I've been trying to use some custom roms and after all I restored the backup I made before, everything fine.
Today I wanted to try to use a custom rom again but it wouldn't work so I decided to wait for the official ICS release for the IncS. And here we get to my problem: When I restore the backup, and manually flash the boot.img (have to do this manually, got S-ON) and I boot my phone it gets to the HTC bootscreen, reboots and automatically gets to the CWM recovery.
Can anyone provide me an original boot.img (I haven't found it yet) or the whole standard android rom? If you have another solution, I would like to hear it!

You can find the latest OTA in the Android Dev section. If you would use the search function ( yeah we really have a "search" function.. ) you would easily find it. If you want your boot.img we do need what for a Rom from which carrier you got.

Actually I DID use the search, but I haven't found any stock roms for the IncS.. I would like a boot.img for T-Mobile carrier (that's what a 'carrier' is right?).

I have just been reviewing your posts and you posted that you applied the OTA and received HBOOT 2.01.0001, correct?
Then the RUU/ROM you need is the 3.11.405.2 version.
You also stated that you were able to unlock HBOOT 2.01.0001 using the HTCDEV.com site, correct? Which custom recovery did you install after that?

That's all correct, I installed the CWM recovery after that, not sure which version, the most recent one if I'm sure. I notice that the RUU/ROMS are .exe, do I flash these the same way as a .zip rom?

No, you run the exe on a PC and follow the directions on the screens. The program will tell you when to connect your phone to the PC using the USB cable.
This will completely wipe your phone and reload the ROM. Your HBOOT screen will probably show RELOCKED and you will need to unlock it again. Please confirm.

If that's true, I LOVE YOU, that's what I've been looking for. Is there a way to save my data like contacts, whatsapp messages and settings and stuff or do I have to live with the fact that I get a completely "new" phone?

You can sync your contacts to your Google/Gmail account or save them to your SD cards. You can use Titanium Backup to backup apps and some settings.
Well this sucks: The ROM Updatestff can't update the Android hpone. Get the right ROM Update program and try again.
Were you sure that this is the right one? ;p

This is the only one that has HBOOT 2.01.0001. You will also need to relock your HBOOT before you run the RUU using the command:
fastboot oem lock

It seems that he's updating now!
He updated it to the original Android, dude, you're amazing! Thanks mennnn! Just forbid myself to ever try a custom rom again and just stick to waiting for official releases

Glad to help! Next time just use the "Thanks" button....
Ah ofcourse, I'm pretty new to the forum and didn't notice the thanksbutton before. Used it to thank you right away!
For warranty purposes, I need to return an HTC Vivid to stock. However, after running the RUU, the bootloader status still shows it as "re locked". Supposedly, instead of running the RUU, if you use the PH39IMG.zip file, the bootloader will display "locked". I'm not sure how much this will matter for warranty purposes, but I'd like to be safe. However, the link to the PH39IMG.zip file in the superguide is broken, and has been for a while. I've searched all over the internet for one and I have not been able to find another. Does anyone either have the file, or can confirm for me that "re locked" is okay for warranty purposes?
I found 3 PH39IMG.zip files posted on random hosting sites as potentials.
Can anyone confirm for me if any of these 3 would work? I don't care if it's ICS or Gingerbread, I just want to return the phone to stock.
http://d-h.st/yPN this one looks promising...as it says GB unroot Stock. I just need to know if it's for the AT&T version of the Vivid
http://www.general-files.com/download/gs591e3f66hdi0/PH39IMG.zip.html
http://www.fileswap.com/share/index.php?id=0y1AzkdVRr this also looks possibly promising
Can someone check these out or link to a proper file? Thanks.

How different is using this ZIP from running the stock RUU and flashing via USB? I would say an RUU flash is pretty darn stock (all it would require you to do first is re-lock your bootloader, if you had unlocked it).

The RUU works but keeps the bootloader status as "Re Locked" instead of "locked" .. I have been told flashing the zip resets this as well.

After running the RUU, you should be able to use the utility in this thread to change the text of your bootloader:

Hi guys I got this old lg d415 from my cousin and Wana install some roms on it since I'm a noob on this device I need some help regarding what to do unlock bootloader or what .... I see that d415 has a unlocked bootloader or no ?
Its bootloader is already unlocked just root and flash twrp. kingroot to root and flashify to flash the recovery seem easiest. *Just make sure to update to LP beforehand. here's a link for recovery. You may be able to get a more updated version of the recovery off the twrp site. Also I suggest using the most recent lineage build. lineage

Ypu wrong you have to unlock before flashing unless you are planning on bricking your device. You first have to root it and then flash laf with zeros u lock bootlosder, flash recocery , thenflash rom
Please don't tell people stuff you don't know about. The T-Mobile variant comes with its bootloader already unlocked. Also there is no laf to mess with.

Ok, didnt know
I recently made an insurance claim for my phone and had to send my unlocked firmware note 8 back. Problem I'm having now is, I cant get the new one on an unlocked firmware. I keep getting errors in all the Odins I have. I dont know much about the v4 bootloader or when it was locked. I was able to gi back to Nougat on my old phone and then upgrade back oreo. That was in August though. Any help would be appreciated. I cant stand this ATT ****!

You can only flash the same bootloader v4 firmwares or higher from now on. No downgrading possible to bootloader v3 or below!
Can't even go back to Nougat (that was on bootloader v3 and below)!
If you are just need the unbranded firmwares look for the ones with the bootloader v4.
Eg N950U(U1)SQS"4"CRH1. The 4 in "" is your bootloader version.
If you want to root or go back to nougat then you'll need to talk to ATT for another phone that's on bootloader v3 or below.

Could you possibly link me the the firmware I do need? I would really appreciate as I'm stuck on this current firmware. I've looked and looked. I'm just unable to find the right firmware. I suppose it's possible I'm not getting the right one. Idk.

The easiest is to use SamFirm to download the firmware. Then use modified ODIN 3.13.1 to flash it.

If you can get a hold of your v40's stock KDZ and do a refurbish flash of that KDZ in LGUP with the correct DLL's applied to LGUP's common folder so it reads your phone as connected it should wipe any modifications and reflash the stock locked bootloader. But of course will also wipe ur rom and user data. The guides on how to do this are here in the forum.
