Blackberry Keyboard for Note 8 - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

I installed Blackberry Keyboard but its not working crashing again and again does anyone have it working on Note 8?

all here https://forums.crackberry.com/andro...-any-android-device-no-root-required-1059855/
perfect working
1. first install blackberry manager
2. second >>> open blackberry manager installed >>> install blackberry hub services
3. next >>> choose any soft you need (keyboard, contact, hub,....) >>> ENJOY

I love the BlackBerry keyboard and it's the only thing I miss from when using a BB phone. For me it always has much much better prediction than any other keyboard.

Perfectly working BlackBerry keyboard here. However, I don't remember installing hub services (step 2). Is it vital to have it installed too?

Should not be needed. On all other phones when I've used the BB keyboard I've just installed it as stand alone and it has worked perfectly.

How to BT pair any device without resetting Galaxy Gear

Note this will only bluetooth pair, *not* gear manager connect. I know, limited use, but perhaps this step might help some other dev move forward in creating compatibility with other devices than samsung (especially those who don't have one, like me!
1. Build and install this app: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14228289/android-device-bluetooth-pairing (or any app that can unpair / remove bonds)
2. Use it to unpair with your current gear manager device (click on the device in the list in the app, it should remove it)
3. Now, pair with your non samsung device
4. Should now pair without resetting
another approach
1. Pair and reset with another non samsung device. It will pair but that's it.
2. Pair with your Samsung Device (or go to the store and pair with a demo model)
3. Your device should still be paired with your non samsung device
For people who are trying gear manager connect via another device, there has been some success by installing all of the accessory APKs here:
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/iej2...Android43)_All
And then trying to connect. Note how it goes from 0/19 folders to 0/2 or so.
Another approach suggested: (hat tip jtuzyk : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488516, reported to work with HTC One and Moto X)
Using another method i came across i was able to pair with HTC one, answer calls and use watch styler
1. Install Galaxy Gear APK manually
2. When Galaxy Gear App opens it tries to install 0/19 files it will restart and say 0/18
3. When it says 0/18, locate "GEAR" folder on SDCARD, inside it will create another APK. Manually install this apk.
4. Close Gear App and Repeat Process, i got all the way down to 0/8 (Music service apk fails) but the Gear is still usable for calls.

Anyways, let us know your success and failures and what platform / version of os you tried it on. Any information you provide can be helpful.
Tried it on various apple products, and it works! And by it, I mean only the dialer, and the watch speakerphone.

Yeah, that Bluetooth headset part is the only part that works without the gear manager (works like a standard Bluetooth headset)

[APP] Applications running with GPS (By Bluetooth)

Hi guys I would like to share what I and my friends from Brazil are using google maps I'll send the file.
Special thanks to appelflap the explanations, follow the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526490
Remember that you must be connected to the internet via bluetooth gear and synchronized between BlueGps and ShareGPS like this one shown in this topic.
Install mode can be performed by any alternative in the gear I used wondershare 2x clicking on the install apk and after opening the maps when open will ask about gps and wifi settings click down the page and select data network ...
Go back to the map load and expect to be happy ...
REMEMBERING THAT THIS RELEASE AND NAVIGATION VOICE WORKS PERFECT!!
Next step is to go testing other versions of Google Maps.
Welcome opinions and if someone can post it with another application as fast as possible.
Maps 7 also works grat.

My Phone Explorer - useful application for Gear

I have been using a Windows application called MyPhoneExplorer for a several years with some of my Android (and Sony Ericsson) phones, and decided to check today to see if it would work with the Galaxy Gear. Yes it does!
Aside from being able to browse files on the Gear and show battery, CPU, storage and system information, one of the most useful features that works with the Gear (found in the EXTRAS menu) is the ability to control the Gear from the PC with live screen mirroring. So you can type on the Gear using the PC keyboard and mouse and access menus of say apps you may have side loaded on the Gear, that aren't accessible due to the Gear having no menu key. It also installs 2 useful apps on the Gear; a notepad and a task organiser. They work great too, handy for memos and lists, easily updated using the PC link up.
When you first connect, there will be a couple of error messages as the Explorer tries to sync with phone features not found on the Gear but everything else works great. And it's free to use.
Download http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php (or search for FJ Software MyPhoneExplorer) if link isn't allowed.
Don't forget to hit thanks if you found this helpful.
is it possible to maintain the contact list in cloud so I can update it in case of ROM refresh, directly from the phone. Like put the clould file somewhere and it will refresh all contacts and notes

Unless you are using a custom ROM, the contacts are stored on the phone (and restored from Google on reset) MyPhoneExplorer doesn't sync contacts from the Gear but will sync with your Android phone.

Mirrorlink with the S5

I recently purchased a Subaru that seems to work OK with Mirrorlink and RockScout. The only issue is that RockScout kind of sucks because you're limited to what applications are run.
With RockScout being launched, if I click the "Sources" button at the top, the head unit flashes the home screen for a second and then displays "Mirrorlink Is Now In Operation". It's as if RockScout won't let me exit out.
I was wondering if there's a way to have mirrorlink mirror the home screen and be able to launch other apps, such as waze and google navigation. My phone isn't rooted, but if there's a way, I have no problem rooting it.
Thanks!

Android Auto on Android Q

Installed custom Android Q ROM and Android Auto stopped working. Looking around learned Android 10 muggles around Assistant Driving mode and some promised AA for Phone Screen etc but common ground is no solution for running AA on Q I found.
Digging more, found out working solution:
1. Grab latest apks of AA, Play Services and Google apps (apkmirror or so). Pay attention to look for latest version designated specifically for Android 10 if there are such!!! (otherwise get whatever is latest)
2. Install in following order: Play Services, Google and AA latest.
3. Move AA to system apps. Use Titanium or manually
http://www.friendfactor.org/install-user-apps-as-system-apps-on-android/
4. Reboot to recovery, clear cache & davlink.
5. Reboot to system
AA is installed but not visible in launcher. Check it is installed by going to settings - apps and look for it. On bottom of its details, there is option for more settings in application - there you can get int AA settings and activate Dev mode and other options.
So, AA is there but you cannot launch it as normal app.
YET...
After plugging phone to car, AA started automatically and now works flawlessly.
BTW in Dev options now is possible to activate option I'm main settings to use WiFi connection. Tried and working with my Audi
Tested also CarStream 2.0.4 and it works
I've tried it multiple times, with reinstall and reconfiguration both the smartphone and the car. It works for some time and is back to the same behaviour after that.
Was it rock stable for you?
