Battery drain and Overheating on Nougat roms - Xperia T LT30p - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello all developers, android experts.
Now i be interested to upgrade to nougat or oreo ... because the performance and UI
but i tested this roms :
AOSP NOUGAT 7.1.2 by AdrianDC
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-t-v/orig-development/rom-aosp-nougat-xperia-t-tx-t3490463
Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 N by CodeZero and AdrianDC:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...rom-resurrection-remix-nougat-v5-8-0-t3508087
Both roms are great but ... i have excesive heating on my device. :crying:
i shutdown gps, nfc and restricted sensors. but this no solve my trouble.
Some help i need.
Best regards and thanks for the Xperia Mint Development

I don't know what is the cause, but i had the same issues on my Xperia V with the Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 and solved it by installing HEBF battery saver. Now i'm back on stock rom, but i remember it was configurated in balance mode with most of the battery-saving tricks activated. The only think i noticed was a perpetual mild cpu usage (with both cores always running around 30-40%) caused by random apps, such download manager, google play services and so on, even after a clean installation. You can check if you have the same issue by installing Kernel Adiutor and a simple task manager.

Best Rom?

Hi Guys,
My moto G 2014 lags quite a bit and the battery backup is horrible .. I'm on stock currently.
I'm new to rooting and stuff, so need suggestion as to which is the best (not fast, but just no lags .. battery is very imp) .. I'm not a gamer or anything, just normal whatsapp and photos, thats all.
Thanks
all rom are best. please choose rom according to your choice and like
OK so here is my opinion, (note it's My opinion)
Stock based : Radium Redefined v1.2
Cm 12.1 : Fusion LP or Orion
Cm 13 : Vatsals Optimised Cm 13 Builds
AOSP 5.1.1 : Minimal Os
AOSP 6.0 : haven't tried any type yet.
I've used all with just Whatsapp, Uc Browser, 2 games and a couple of music apps.
All the above give me more than 5 hrs of SoT with little gaming that is.
For me cm13 official
I try :
Cm 12.1 : works well but some bug time to time
Cm 13 : I love marshmallow but big big problem with sim network provider, always lost connection and poor battery
SlimSaber 5.1.1 : the best for me.
I really waiting good connection and battery life with marshmallow.....
I use stock kitkat 4.4.4, rooted+xposed for some modules(greenify, amplify...), unistalled some system apps that I dont use. I downgraded from Minimal OS because of battery backup and reliability. Now I am getting AT LEAST five hours SOT with heavy usage, a lot of youtube, whatsapp and FB. No force closes unless you unistal something you need for the phone to work properly but you can fix it with a Nandroidbackup.
However, if you mind having the look of lollipop I definitely recommend Minimal OS as it is VERY VERY STABLE, it has the best battery backup on any lollipop rom I tried (at least 7 roms), I think i faced 3 reboots in 2 months since it was my daily driver other than that, rock solid.
Best roms for moto g 2nd gen (xt1068)
The following roms are the most stable roms i have ever used on my moto.
1. Blisspop. (with maximum customisation) BlissPop-v4.0.3-titan-OFFICIAL-20151031-1345
2.Cyanogenmod 12.1 (Minimum customisation) cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K5-titan
Try them, you will definitely love it.
Cheers
I'm using minimal OS and i have any single lag (on other rom's there are many as you said) also battery backup is very good. You have to try it!
THIS is what I'm using...
I've been using Nexus Experience 10.1 with Extended Kernel and am extremely happy with it. No bugs, very smooth, excellent battery life, and pulled a 29203 on AnTuTu Benchmark(Would post a screen shot but am not allowed).
YMMV, as they say...
I would suggest you Minimal OS 5.1.1 . It's very stable, no bugs what so ever. Integrated kernel is very battery friendly but you can have any kernel you want really (Halogen R14 is my choice) . RAM management is on top of what the device is capable of and it got everything you need in terms of customizing your device while keeping it clean and not overloaded like CyanogenMod.
Not that there is any "best rom" but here is my opinion:
6.0.1 -> Broken OS by ishubhamsingh
5.1.1 -> (1).SlimSaber by aayushya, (2).Minimal OS by vatsal
Stock -> definitely 6.0 over 5.0.1
I recommend SlimSaber as I am a huge fan of Slim, the roms are always very fast and light, which means good battery. If you want a pure AOSP experience, go for Minimal OS
As far as kernel goes, Decipher kernel is really great. The kernel that comes with broken os is also very good. Rest kernels have too many features which may end up slowing it down
5.1.1 definitely Resurrection Remix ROM (v5.5.9)

They are all the same. None is stable or could be used as a daily driver, unless you are a mazochist. The problems include, but not limited to:
Slow charging; random reboots; waking after sleep; flickering screen; low volume; unstable NFC; unstable Bluetooth; bad battery life; substandard camera; overheating; offline charging... I am sure I have missed a few things.
None of the above problems will be fixed, because all MM roms will be abandoned in favor of Android N within days.

And Android N won't be stable either
So we have to deal with the issues..
Anyway I don't use NFC nor Bluetooth
Some screen issues? I can deal with that too
But a bad battery life and charging problems? I'm already facing problems with my battery with the stock kernel and stock rom...my z1 shutdown on 40% I think the battery is damaged..so can you at least suggest a temporarily rom with a good battery life or I should stick with stock?

Replace your battery and stay away from MM and N even with a new battery, because it'll take you 24 hours to charge your battery...
P.S. It is Google stupid. But I am waiting for Android P (poop).

But really, there is no custom rom (expect stock based) with fully functional camera right? So what the best lollipop rom in terms of battery life :cyclops:

Suggestion for ram management

Hello there! From your experience, which settings or tweaks or scripts can give the best performance to Lineage based roms? I dont need hugggeee battery backup, I'd like to use my phone one hour but it should be LAGFREE, I need suggestions, I tried Evaluation kernel but maybe I couldnt tweak that well, so that my phone started lagging, so I back to Resurrection Remix default kernel, am on RR 5.8.3, Android 7.1.2

Any roms for sony xperia z c6602 ?

i am searching for roms for my sony xperia z c6602 are there any ?
If your device bootloader is unlocked or allowed to unlock, then any rom in this forum are available for you.
You can try lineageOS for the most smooth use experience and best battery usage. You can also try Resurrection Remix or XenoHD if you like more features and more customize, which are both made from Lineage.
Ive tried them all.
Hello, could you tell me what - if you're currently on Lineage - customization are you using? Launcher, icon packs, whatever (as the customization is limited by non-existing Xposed for Nougat). I came to Lineage from Ressurection Remix (aiming for longer battery life which many users are claiming) and as I had lots of troubles transfering to LOS (wrong ADB drivers, losing TWRP,...) I really want to squeeze as much as possible out of this ROM as I got it to a working state. Thank you

Custom Kernel to increase battery life with original or GPE firmware?

Hello,
I have 2 HTC M7 with slim rom 7.1.2. build.2.0 and GAPPS pico. One of them is S-OFF with GPE firmware (6.04.1700.19). Clean install via TWRP, no further apps installed, so far. Both phones lose about 1.5%/h battery in stand-by - thus more than twofold compared to stock firmware+rom, before.
Can anyone tell me, what are the reasons for this higher battery consumption? Forums on custom roms mostly give information that battery consumption will be improved with custom rom.
I think of installing a custom kernel to improve battery life. Where can I find a compatible kernel to my custom rom and different firmwares? Or would it be sufficient to install a kernel tweaking tool (eg. kernel toolkit) to adjust settings for the current kernel? In Slim Rom, kernel information is 3.4.113-g9776217([email protected]) (gcc version 4.9 20150123) prerelease).
Thank you very much.
There is only one custom kernel for N Roms and this one doesnt have any improvment for battery or kernel tweaks, there is no way to extend the battery life except for dont use gapps. You will get the best battery life with gpe rom and elementalx kernel, but this is android 5.1, but this is the only way to underclock the cpu/gpu with all adroid versions higher like 6.x undervolting allways caused system instability. If you want to have a bettter battery life with android 6.x or higher the only way is to use nanomod microg (or the new name of this magisk module "nanodroid") instead of gapps. It will replace everything what google services do for you with opensource programms, you will be able to use your google account as usuall and being able to use the play store but without the high battery drain gapps are causing. If you want to know more about this you can read everything here https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/tips-standby-time-t3661814
Thank you, I will try it. As I have seen this should still allow for using paid apps from play store if needed.
Though I don't understand why battery consumption with custom rom nougat is that higher than with stock rom lollipop. I also tried clean installing custom rom without any GAPPS, but battery drain in standby and with flight mode was still considerably higher (0.9%/h) than in stock rom incl. Google services and no flight mode (0.5%/h)?
Hm, now I have
- 1 M7 S-off, GPE firmware, Slim rom 7.1.2 build 2.0 + microG
- 1 M7 S-on, HTC firmware, Slim rom 7.1.2 build 2.0 + Gapps pico,
- 1 M7 S-on, HTC firmware, HTC stock rom.
So far, no further apps running, GPS, NFC and bluetooth deactivated. Hourly battery drain in stand-by is almost identical on phones with slim rom (1.5% per hour) - and more than twofold compared to stock rom (0.6% per hour). Since I have tried several custom roms before, I noticed that other Android M+N roms (lineage, AICP, xenon, tesla) all have battery drain comparable to slim rom.
Seems to me that there is no way to get low standby battery consumption with a custom rom Android M/N. Within a 16 hour day I loose about 15 percent battery more than with stock rom Android L only due to standby. Am I the only one with this issue (or the only one interested in this)?

If you have identical battery drain on both devices with slim rom (one with gapps one with microG) there is definitivly something wrong on your side. Every user i have ever read from using microG said the same about better battery (about 10% more at the end of a day compared to same rom with gapps). And for me it was the same, with aicp and gapps i had only 15% at the end of a day, with aicp and microG i had about 25% left.
