Hello,
After updating Android Wear (application) to version 2.8, after a certain time the function of the always-on-screen stops working. The screen flashes, the white color turns pink and the screen goes out, but it happens only when the Ambient Mode is on (the full mode doesn’t break down). When, I did the reset factory settings, everything started working again. Afterwards, the situation is repeated, a few hours after the update the screen is not working properly again. The update introduces changes which I liked very much, among other things, the black interface, so I don’t consider going back to the old version. Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
I noticed mine turned off once.. but it was right around while it was doing the update... so I chalked it up to a hiccup while it was installing... right now it seems to be using ambient mode perfectly.
I only use the Line Watchface / Mini Wear Launcher
Yesterday I got one more small update and since then there is no problem

Hey,
I have an HTC One black - stock os - UK unlocked version - after 4.2.2 update.
I've got a strange problem regarding the top of the touchscreen. when the phone is horizontal, the top bit (between the top bar to the first widget) is not working. the rest of the screen working fine. when I pick the device up, the screen is working fine 70% of the time. as a result, I cant open the notification bar and it thinks that I'm clicking or re-arranging my widgets.
It's weird because IT DOES work 60% of the time.
1. did any of you experienced any of this before?
2. What do you think it is? software or I have to replace the digitizer?
3. Is it just calibration problem? I tried to calibrate the device using the keyboard screen calibration and it didn't do anything.
Thanks!
Eran.

I just started experiencing this same problem today as well. I was on a Google Edition 4.3 Rom for about 2 days, Viper 3.2 I believe and everything was initially working as it should. Suddenly I began experiencing the non responsive status bar. I cleared data & cache, fixed permissions, and even tried a factory reset with no luck. I then reinstalled the Rom and the problem persisted. I then downloaded and installed black jelly Rom along with a complete wipe of the entire storage after transferring important data to my PC, but the status bar was still unresponsive and it appeared the top 1/4 inch of display had a digitizer issue. I tried to restore an older backup of Venom Rom running Sense and I still had no luck, until I went into the browser so that I could rotate into landscape to see if I could access it from this orientation (don't know why that didn't cross my mind sooner?) After I pulled the notification shade in landscape I left it down and rotated back into portrait mode and drew the shade back up slowly, following through with the gesture all the way to the top of the display. Then the functionality from portrait was restored! I believe this is a software bug of some sort, but I'm contemplating returning it to stock and relocking the bootloader to return it. I'm actually using the Tmobile variant and it's only about 30 days old. My insurance will cover a replacement for a faulty unit, but who knows if will happen with another? After a Google search I discovered this was an issue that surfaced with quite a few One X's as well, so I'm thinking it may be a bug that's consistent with some HTC hardware of a different variants? Any updates or insight would be appreciated.
Hello, I have received an update to Android Wear 5.0.1 yesterday on my LG G Watch R. Ever since I've updated it, the watch as been freezing and giving me a static screen. The screen will remain there for 5-10 minutes and then it will act fine again, but then it will randomly freeze and give this issue again. I deeply regret updating as the watch has been perfectly fine and running smooth before the update. I will try to attach a picture of the screen, but has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a possible fix?

I have a some what simillar problem.
After the update my custom faces no longer go on standby mode.
I'd remove all wear related apps on your phone. Uninstall android wear too. Then I'd factory reset my watch. Reinstall wear from the market and see if the problem persists

This sounded like a hopeful idea but upon resetting to factory settings, the device shut off and reboot(as expected) and then it just gave a static screen. The static screen stayed there for five minutes and it allowed to select a language, ect. I have just re-installed Android Wear onto my phone(I had it uninstalled before resetting the watch) and it is now paired and it is behaving as it did after updating it yesterday, just giving me random static screens I'm leaving the country tomorrow, but I will be checking back for any solutions between now and then. Anything would be helpful. But it does look like I will be contacting LG about the matter, it doesn't seem to be a common issue to have a static screen...
Some face are not compatible with new face api in V5. Try with a LG Standard face (Camping) to see if you freeze or not ?
I have issue with intellicom, weather Watchface..... now I'm trying original face and no issue in 24H

My first one did this, but would not get normal until the battery was empty, charging it did cause a reboot. Contacted LG, they said a Hardware failure, and send me a email with their conclusion (i send them a picture, with a description) so if the webshop i bought it from was reluctant to swap it for a new one, i was supported by this, not necessary, they swapped it, that one got the blinking issue, and now i have a third new one Get it replaced!

I might just go ahead an do this once I get back home. This morning the screen was acting very odd as I was swiping through notifications and it just began blinking and showing black lines near the edge. It stopped once I hit the power button twice. I'll just get it exchanged before it gets worse Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Hopefully I get lucky the second time!
I've recently flashed the stock rom for my Xperia V as described below for locked bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796554
Since then I face problems with the display/phone acting weirdly . About twice a day I can't turn the display back on (display unlock). In this state the phone actually freezes somehow. One strange exampled I've seen today: I received a mail message, with the set signal sound and notification LED. I wanted to check the message but couldn't turn on the display. So I checked if I can call myself with another phone but the mailbox turned on immediately. The notification LED was still active so I'm not sure if the phone actually freezed or not. The only thing I can do at this state is to remove the battery and restart the phone.
Another problem I've since flashing the rom is that when I start a call is that the display turns off immediately no matter if I place my finger/face over the proximity sensor or not. Funny thing is that the call can be held as usual, but after that I'm not able to hold the call as the display won't turn on until the call partner ends it. When he has ended the call the display turns back on. Right now I really don't know what to do.
Here is the history how the problem started:
- dropped phone on floor and display broke
- exchanged display
- I've had installed Xposed installer on external SD card and modified some things on the launcher. While I was waiting for the new display I've used the SD card in a different phone. This has somehow messed with the Xposed settings I assume.
- After I booted my phone with the new display in place and external SD inserted the UI crashed all the time and the launcher won't come back. So I've restored the system with the androids included function.
- This is where I first saw the above described problem.
- I've tried a different, modded rom. With this the display problem didn't occur but the battery performance was really bad.
- Installed stock rom from link above. Now problem with display present again. So maybe there is an issue with the original 4.3 rom?
Has anybody experienced the same issues as I do right now? I really don't know what to do but the problems really annoy me.
Thanks!
Try to repair it using PC companion
Didn't work. Same problem remains.
Ok, I was able to fix the issue with the display turning itself off during voice call.
The headphone connector does somehow connect the light and proximity sensor to the phones mainboard. This connector didn't sit properly inside the middle phone case which cause a bad connection to the sensors. I've reassembled the whole phone and now this problem has disappeared.
The other problem still remains, I hoped it is linked to the display proximity sensor problem, but now it is clear that this has some other source.
Is there some kind of app monitor available? I assume that there is some app which causes the various hang up, but I have plenty of them installed and deinstalling always just one of them and monitor for various days will last for months.
Is there any possiblity to find out if the lock ups are caused by some app?
Really nobody in here who has any ideas? I've now exchanged the display to a new one as I thought it's caused by a faulty display connector, but the problem remained. I'm running out of ideas now.
Problem:
After booting, after some time the screen stops rotating in most apps. The autoratotate setting is enabled all the time, "device help" hardware test shows all 3 sensors as good (all moving), i think the only app that rotating works is the camera. Also sometimes it gets stuck in landscape mode, i think it's random. Rebooting to safe mode helped before, now it's completely off. Looks completely hardware related now.
Other: phone was stock until recently (had same behavior before), updated to android 6, then unlocked the bootloader and rooted it, everything else is "stock". as said, behavior was same before rooting.
if needed i know linux so can dig around but need directions. googled around but didn't get much.
halp?
*SOLVED*
Hi all,
Have my Galaxy S10 SM-G9730 Dual Sim (unrooted) for about 18months now and has never skipped a beat.... until the new One UI 3.0 update that I got a few days ago.
After a restart everything works fine then after 15min-2hrs I will lose auto rotate, screen brightness is also less responsive (proximity sensor seems to be ok). Toggling auto rotate/adaptive brightness on/off does nothing.
Same issue across all apps (Youtube, Camera, Messaging etc.)
Going to the *#0*# - SENSOR menu shows me that:
Accelerometer Sensor is responsive (x, y, z axis all change to reflect movement) but the "IMAGE TEST" doesn't rotate the image of the dog. Should it?
Gyroscope Sensor doesn't move at all, is it supposed to? "GYRO SELFTEST" shows a PASS.
I downloaded the app "Sensor Test" and most of the sensors give me the error:
"This sensor doesn't report any readings, seems you have error with sensor service in device firmware"
I have tried the following:
- Toggle auto rotate on/off.
- Restart phone (using power button - restart & using power & Vol down combo)
- Cleared cache from Bootloader menu.
- Settings - Apps - Reset app preferences.
- Factory reset (using both settings - Factory reset & using bootloader factory reset)
I have a feeling it is an app that isn't updated to run on One UI 3.0 but I have no way of finding the guilty app.
Called Samsung who were no help (try restart, try factory reset, send it to us but we will charge you as Samsung don't have international warranty , even though yes we agree that it was our update that probably caused it)
Seemed to be good for about 10 hours after the factory reset but came came again,
Anyone come across this and found a way out?
*edit* just checked after restart and Gyroscope Sensor shows values after restart (while auto rotate is working), This leads me to believe it is 100% the gyroscope at first which in time leads to the accelerometer also not working.
*edit x2* well I've just restarted my phone then went through every single app 1 by 1 (downloaded and bloatware) and checking for rotation after each app launch, that is: launch app, test rotation, close app, test rotation and do that 172 times!! I task killed maybe 5 times during the process..
after opening every app I still have auto rotation which leads me to believe its some system background process and not a 3rd party app issue. Damn..
Is there any way for me to monitor these? or monitor sensors stopping functioning?
*SOLVED* See post #6 below
I have same problem. After updating to one ui 3, the rotate sensor stops working after a while and only a reboot helps. Galaxy Note 10+ N9750 (snapdragon). Can't find fix yet
Same problem, autorotate feature is not working after software update (Samsung Galaxy S10 SM-G9730, One UI 3.0, Android 11)
Same thing here! If you read this please send a bug report to samsung we we can get their attention.
Didn't see anything on Reddit about it may be fixed on 3.1
Let's find out

Ok then, finally seem to have this sorted.
What I ended up doing was:
Downloading the latest firmware (the firmware that caused the problem) using frija.
I took a complete backup onto my laptop using Smart Switch.
I then flashed the firmware using Odin but again after a few hours sensors started to drop off again.
I then flashed the firmware again using Odin but this time I performed a nand erase while flashing.
Pushed my backup back onto my phone from my laptop using Smart Switch.
And hey presto!
This seems to have sorted it, I'm now well into day 2 and still working 100% which is the best it has been since the OTA firmware update.
Hopefully that will help others
My phone is doing this as well, I've got a US unlocked phone overseas as well. I followed your instructions and did the nand erase but after 2 days the sensors started messing up again.

It's the firmware..samsung is releasing buggy firmware..received 3.1 update yesterday... seems to have solved proximity and autorotate issue..smartview and NFC still not working for me.
So they force us into an update that breaks the phone and don't let us go back to the previous version of the software? That doesn't sound right.
Another marketing scam to get us on to the S21.
Same problem with S21 Ultra after Android 13. Rotate sensor flips 90degrees after some day or two of use. Now it was messenger that was active when the flip came.....
Any solutions apart from reflashing via 3rd party? That's quite a job to reset the phone.
Thanks!
