There is a porting guide for CyanogenMod on their wiki here. I would do it but without the phone, I can't and with the release of the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, I'm not going to get the P8lite now
Trying to compile
I'm trying to compile the kernel source for the ALE-L21 and i'm getting the following error:
Code:
/home/wjclub-dev/android/ndk/toolchains/aarch64-linux-android-4.9/prebuilt/linux-x86_64/bin/aarch64-linux-android-ld: no input files
make[1]: *** [init/mounts.o] Error 1
make: *** [init] Error 2
This happens with various files which I also can't find in the file system. Neither in compiled nor in the raw code. Hence I'm using the official MAKEFILE with the official Kernel Source and the official NDK I'm stranded for now.
I googled it but there is no answer. Maybe some of you can help me...
There were a lot of faults in the source from Huawei.
You could not build it without major changes.
I was able to build it with a lot of effort:
https://github.com/olrak2/make_boot_image_hi6210sft
Kernel for Android 6.0:
https://github.com/olrak2/android_kernel_huawei_hi6210sft/
It has come to my attention that Huawei has removed a rollback patch 3.0 > 2.3 from their officials websites.
Therefore i'll be posting it here for anyone who might need it. Rollback from 3.1 > 3.0 is still available on official Huawei websites.
Rollback 2.3 here (Google Drive | 254MB):
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxBP6hPZptRkSWVpMnFjUnhLa2M
Also they removed the old firmware from their official sites, so i'll be posting that here as well

Hi
There's been MANY variants of the Honor 4X and I guess this got me (and maybe others) confused.
I have the Che2-L11 which is "Cherry" and not "Cherryplus". I don't even know what these code-names mean but I guess they reflect some hardware differences.
Anyways, I'm looking for a custom rom for my device (it's now unlocked and twrp is replacing the stock recovery). However, everything I find online is either unavailable (broken links) or incompatible (stated to be compatible with Che2-L11 but actually requires Cherryplus when flashed in twrp).
I can find images for the stock ROMs alright but none of them supports Adoptable Storage (which I need) although the latest ones are Android 6.0.
Could anyone help me here?
Thank you very much

Che10 is Snapdragon 410. Won't work.
Che2-L11 is Kirin 620
(Cherryplus-L11 is also Kirin 620 AFAIU, but there must be another hardware difference preventing flashing these ROMs onto Cherry devices like Che2-L11)

I think different codename itself will prevent flashing of the rom, without major hardware difference.
Try extract the system.img from the cherry plus l11 rom, move to c drive not under any folder, then execute fastboot command
fastboot flash system C:\system.img
If success then
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
If the file is system.new.dat or system.bew.dat.br, please tell me
Actually the misunderstanding was on my side!!!
@Bob1900 helped me out realizing the following:
- Che1-XX based on snapdragon 410 are "cherry" devices
- Che2-XX based on Kirin 620 (my device) are "cherryplus" devices
- I flashed a version of twrp that is designed for cherry devices and thus it won't let me flash the custom roms deigned for cherryplus devices while these are the ones I actually need.
Bob1900 pointed to this post which contain a link (not broken, yeah!) to a version of twrp designed for cherryplus devices.
Now I flashed this version of twrp and then flashed a custom rom designed for cherryplus devices (RRos from this post). It's all good now.
I installed RR and from there I could even DL updates for the ROM and for TWRP (now v. 3.2.2 from Ksrt12).
I enabled Adoptable Storage and now I'm testing...

Good The forum still has enough working DL links to install ROMs on this device, but we sorely need someone to update the code.

I wish @ksrt12 would update the DL link to Slim7 for instance. And also post a ling to that custom twrp v3.2.2 for Cherryplus devices
Not exactly what you asked for, but I am posting a few other versions of TWRP for cherryplus, in case these are useful.

The link to twrp in the OP is broken.
@krst12 indicates that we can use twrp for Cherry devices and indeed version 3.1.1-0 of twrp would install on Che2-L11 (Cherryplus) and allow to boot into recovery but then it wouldn't let me flash Cherryplus roms (arguing the device is Cherry). Later version of twrp for Cherry would install to the Che2-L11 (Cherryplus) but booting into recovey results ina screen stuck at the Honor logo (while ADB reports the phone is booted into recovery).
