best battery rom for 8.1 - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Any one knows the best battery rom ? for 8.1 because im faceing a lot of problem with a couple of roms except for our stock rom

Not really sure with nitrogen os 8.1 if there was already improvements on it. But I use it before for 8.1 but lack of oxygen os camera push me back on flashing back the stable rom.

Nitrogen OS. Been with it since its early stages, and I can assure you it's the best Oreo ROM I have ever tried, both stability, smoothness and battery wise.
Hope this could help you!

They all good, useless thread.

Asking a question like this will always leave you more confused than before you asked it. Don't ask for the best ROM which has the best xyz features or best battery life.
You can either search for similar threads, or do trial and error flashes of ROMs until you find one that matches you.

There are a lot of thread about the best rom... However i recommend you a stock or stock-based rom on 7.1.1 with a custom kernel.

We need someone super dedicated who can do some tests on idle drains for a few ROMs... So we know which rom is most battery friendly from stock with no user apps/input

idk, I wouldn't call it useless thread, there are certainly some 8.1 ROMs that I can't even get 2 hour SOT on, while others I can get 4.
None of the ROMs out currently have deep sleep to my knowledge. I have tried Nitrogen, DU, Omni, etc and battery still drains while sleeping. It will go from 70 to 30% overnight. I only have Reddit (Boost), Discord, and Telegram installed (with notifications off), Spotify & Shuttle.

i suggest [ROM] theOne3TOS ,its based on offisial OOS,very battery saved during my using process.

I use TheOneOS stock OOS OB 21 Aroma with AKT advanced Battery tweaks with boeffla kernel. All lag free. With almost 8 hrs screen on time.

Looked into it, I disabled wakelocks and I get through a full day with 70% left. Wow.
I still don't get a full deep sleep, (a solid line to the right), but its enough to have me not worry about my battery not making it through the day.

Yeah I always noticed OOS had a bit better battery, but I would have to be 1-2 months behind in security patches and using their bloated OS ;(. Granted, its a lot less bloated then other skins.

What's the best ROM for better battery performance?

Hello guys, over the past month I have been trying to find the best ROM for the best battery performance, I am thinking that the ones made based on lineage are the best, however I don't find it yet, perhaps you have already found it. Please share your opinions.
Stock is the best I think.
If still not satisfied couple it with some custom kernel and tweak your settings.

Sounds very promising, I will give it a try! thank you, I read that android 6 is more battery friendly, compared to 7.0; But I wonder what did you have to do in order to instal it? I dont think that if I am running 7.1 I can use right away, I am thinking I would need to downgrade first right?
Stock + franco kernel here works like a charm.

Stock is a good option for battery no doubt, why not have plenty of additional features without compromising on battery life! CM theme engine or Substratum theme engine lets us set black themes which will also increase our battery life and enhance looks too. I'm on cm13 for a long time and haven't found any bugs yet.
SyCreed said:

Just get root and you're good to go.
(dont forget to apply black theme in settings)
Swift black \ dark works for me like a chram, no issues at all !
Good luck

May be i didn't know stock has OMS support which will turn everything theme able. I usually end up applying dark themes and getting my notifications background in black with black texts in stock android, in case of custom rom with OMS support or CMTE will resolve these issues.

Here
I'm bone stock, rooted, franco kernel with power save mode enabled (kernel not Android) and naptime app set to aggressive doze. had 3h30m SOT the other day with 47% battery left. Phone off charge at 7am, checked at 8pm with the aforementioned stats.
ROMs very, very, very, very rarely have battery saving properties. Kernel is where it's at.
So is the Stock ROM the most efficient battery ROM at the moment? Or did anyone found another combination that's even better? I'm getting my 1+ soon and want good battery life not like my old honor 8...

What's the SOT you're getting with this combo?
It's not as much the ROM as it is the apps your running, apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and the likes are the real reason for high battery usage in any ROM.
And as always, Google services sometimes goes loco on you eating battery, causing long charging times and heating up the phone. ?
i have tested some roms & kernels ...
as is experienced my self :
- oos + franco kernel is great for normal usage.it isn't good if you play games.phone get hot and battery drop fast + idle drain=0 ( i tried r17 - i don't know if it is better in r23 update )
- cm13 sultanxda : amazing battery life for using normal + for gaming ! but idle drain is a little.not 0
- oos 3.5.4 + dorimax kernel : good battery for normal use + idle drain=0 but gaming no.
- oos + elemental x kernel = wasn't good in battery for my usage
i want to test oos + blue-spark kernel : seems to be good.but not sure..
& sultanxda linage 14.1 is good i think.i wait for later updates...
i haven't tried any other custom roms.there are so many roms and no time to test them all !
i hope my post helps.
@AnDrOiiiD_YT i came from a different profile which is fairpark with SOT for about 13hrs but then i switched to project zhana for balanced performance + battery with SOT 9hrs

Any rom with min of 5h sot and full oms support?

What has the processor to do with social media apps?
Its a fact that apps like facebook drain a lot of battery. As long as you use them that will happen on every rom.
4h SOT is like my worst case scenario on latest freedomOS CE. Mostly like 5-6 SOT.
But this highly is dependent of your personal usage (screen brightness, auto sync and ofc battery hungry apps like facebook).
I for example use "Friendly" for facebook which is way more battery friendly and has same features and even messenger inside.
noone can recommend you any ROM and say with this ROM you will have X hours of SOT. So thread title is kinda obsolete.

Since its OOS based, no. But you still can use special OOS substratum modules like Ozone, which is pretty great and feature rich.
For OMS you can use pretty much every non OOS based ROM. All big ones have it: RR, DU, AOSPA.
I tried these 3 also but always went back to freedomOS.
Apart from that you can use custom kernels like bluspark which might save some juice. Available for OOS based and custom Roms (lineage based).

I had the best battery life on freedomOS CE + bluspark kernel so far.
If you can live without OMS i'd recommend FreedomOS.
I had higher idle drain on AOSPA and a lot other users also reported that in the thread, but that was in early stage of the rom. I dont know how many and what updates they released since then. But AOSPA seems like the only real OOS alternative to me since its great camera.
I guess you can give AOSPA a try. If it doesnt suits you, go for FreedomOS CE (has touch latency improvements and other nice features which stable doesnt have) + custom kernel like bluspark or franco.
I know you want OMS but will talk about battery life
I recommend flashing custom OxygenOs rom like freedomOS or xXx No limits with bluspark kernel and you can easily achieve 5 hours SOT if you installed AKT profile

Best Battery Life ROM for Mi Max 2

Hi, i see a lot of ROM in the rom section for XDA, and I am currently on MIUI 9, and the battery life on this phone have significantly downgraded, does anyone have a reason for this? This phone can only last one day, whereas before it was able to last two days constantly. Majority of the consumption is via Google play services and the Google play store, and I have tried many attempts to fix this drain but failed miserably. So, I was wondering if any can recommend be a battery efficent ROM with everything working, bug-free and would also like to use Magisk, I just web browse and play videos, nothing too taxing on the CPU or GPU, so I don't need a high performance ROM. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
the best ROM for battery life is xuefer LOS 14.1 based on Android 7.1.2, hands down and very stable as well, have used it for half a year as a daily driver. just of course be aware thats it "only" Nougat, not Oreo, and LOS has not as many customization options as other custom ROMs out there.

be sure to:
- limit screen brightness to minimum levels you need
- switch off any and all sensors you dont need (wifi, mobile data when on wifi, gps, bluetooth, etc.)
- optimize cpu/gpu/IO governors, clocks, schedulers to your needs
- set app permissions and restrictions for each individual app to your specific needs
i know this is a lot of work, i do it myself every time i installed a new rom. but u only do it once and then u can enjoy maximum battery life i averaged around 18 hours SOT on xuefer, with MSM Oreo and now on ArrowOS Pie im getting around 16h SOT on average.

Best pie rom with no bugs?

With so many pie roms , i dont know which one is good, i tried some but they all had bugs , do anyone know of any pie rom which i can use as a daily driver ?
It's little to early for bugless Android pie ROM, respected developers working to make it stable.
Currently i am using Arrow OS and it's working good, battery backup is also good.
I was using Havoc OS but latest Pie update gave tremendous standby time heat and battery drain rather than that Havoc OS is best ROM with many features. I saw someone saying using custom kernel ROM performance is good. I haven't tried it but if that works then it's pretty good ROM as Android Pie based daily driver.
Use arrow os it has good performance and battery life and it can be used as daily driver. I am using it for more than a week, but Volte doesn't work?

For me, I used Arrow and Havoc. I find it better than those two. I backuped this rom and I can switch to other better Rom If I found. I'm keeping eye on this Rom's next update Ver. too. I was charging my device when I read your Reply. At that time my battery was at 61%. I removed the charger and then went to search for more Posts and Rom's And After that watched some youtube videos about custom boot Logo for Redmi 4(my device) And after almost 25-30 mins I checked my Battery Level again. Tried both, arrow was better but sometimes had huge standby drain, especially after kernel tweaks. Liquid is slightly still in beta for me (it's about 85% stable). that doesn't matter but it also had huge standby drain even with aggressive doze

Sorry I can't be much help, but I will say that if you turn off your phone at night like I do, before you turn it on plug it in to be charged then turn it on. I have found that if I charge it to 100% before going to bed then plug it in in the morning it still says 100%. On both Arrow or Liquid Remix. Also there is a stable ROM for Liquid Remix, seek and you shall find, grasshopper.
