Only problem with Stock Roms (Virginity v14, Project Noble, Ronin) is that they all have this unpredictable Snapchat bug. Quite often Snapchat (both pictures and videos) zoom in like 50% which makes the text often not visible. This is the main reason I stopped using these ROM's.
Virginity V14 also drops 10-30% battery overnight when device is turned off.
My answer to the best s3 mini ROM (i8190) is the following: (not in any particular order)
Omni 5.1.1 (20160125)
Snapchat video's are green. But I don't use this often, so no problem to me.
Resurrection Remix 6.0 (20170305)
Both have great battery life, great performance and offer great features since its LP and MM. Don't assume these ROM's are worse than STOCK because they are 5.1 and 6.0, these are part of THE BEST ROM'S I've come across since years.

I installed omni 5.1.1 (20160125) and i saw its camera was not working. It was just green screen. I couldn't test its battery life. But i installed omni 5.1.1 (20160325) which is recommend by some users and I saw it has battery consumption as well. How can I overcome it

Earlier Omni 5.1.1 releases have insane battery consumption in my opinion. Right now I'm using Omni 4.4.4 (20151230) and it's the best one I ever used. Great battery life & awesome performance.
Also I've installed FB Lite and Messenger Lite instead of the traditional ones. These apps BARELY use any RAM. It's like 5-10 MB when it's running, compared to 80mb with most recent Messenger. Big recommendation!

first of all thank you for your recommendation, and yeah I have used omni 4.4.4 (omni gamer version) for a while. It was perfect kitkat rom that I have ever used but I want to use lollipop from now on. Isn't there any lollipop rom which have stabilility and long life battery?

Any ROM with a newer Android version than KitKat is basically getting too heavy for this old device, though it's nice to have
To answer your question, I'd recommend Resurrection Remix 6.0 (20170305) over Omni LP. I haven't used that ROM with FB and Messenger Lite, but I have no doubt it will be even better!

You are right and I really thank you for your advice. I am using omni 5.1.1 now, it is the most stable lollipop rom that I have ever seen but its battery performance is bad. Therefore I will try rr 6.0. But as I know rr is not smooth on our device because of customization. Is this version smooth?

Very!
I always thought of RR the same until I started using it. Ofcourse you shouldn't tweak every option you can find. The only thing I change on every ROM is the battery icon...
The phone lagged very rarely as i remember, but that's probably because there were 5 apps running in the background. Clearing your recents every now and then is probably the best way to keep your phone running smoothly.

then, my the last question is about battery life  how its battery life? for example I experience a terrible battery consumption in omni 5.1.1. I charged to phone %100 and then I sleep for 7-8 hours. When I wake up I saw it consumed almost %30-%35 of battery. Sometimes it consumes more. Do you have any idea about its battery life?

It's awesome man
For shear performance i'd have to put forward Omni LP with Fkernel with OC and Nova Thor settings. Unfortunately Fkernel takes some configuring (init.d script) to get Nova thor settings to work. I believe Nova Thor settings was removed from latest version. I never quite got the stability with this setup. As for Omni LP and battery issues you must boot in twp and with battery at 100% delete the batterystats.bin. This made all the difference.

Somehow I have always had that issue with all the Nougat 7.1.2 (LineageOS 14.1) that I have tried, even with phone completely turned off it drained so fast!!! For me battery life was OK with Marshmallow 6.0.1 so I keep going back to that one. For my not so fancy needs and stability, I prefer either Resurrection Remix 20170531 or LineageOS 13.0 20170328 stable for now. Also current/latest Nougat 7.1.2 RR 20171220 and LineageOS 20171215 seem to have issues (like not booting) so you'd have to wait for newer versions of those if you want to try. I use a black background and set timeout of screen to 30 sec. instead of 1 min. default.
Fastest ROM 5.1 por superior now?
I am new in trying to figure out which ROM to instal. I have a SIII model GT-I8190 with build number JZO54K.I8190XXANI4.
How can I know if a ROM version is compatibel with a certain Build number ?

This most stable Nougat ROM with tons of costumization latest RR ROM : https://sourceforge.net/projects/cc0705/files/RR/
Or if you prefer lighter ROM with less costumization, try DOT OS : https://sourceforge.net/projects/cc0705/files/
Combine with SODA KERNEL b1.3 from xda : https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=27612

For nougat it gives max 3-4 hour SOT, because my battery has ruined without no gaming, only mobile data, WhatsApp, Telegram, Line, Facebook. With total time on 16 hour.
For OREO it gives max 4-5 hour SOT, because my battery has ruined without no gaming, only mobile data, WhatsApp, Telegram, Line, Facebook. With total time on 21 hour.

I haven't use Cosmic - OS so I can't compare with it.
Currently I'm using AEXmod OREO by DennySPB. It really stable as daily drivers and get routine weekly update, some people report that this ROM doesn't have VOLTE support, I can't verify it because VoLTE not supported at my place.
Sorry for my language too amazing for understanding. [emoji28]

JDCteam 7.1.2 wins hands down as far as speed (and stability) go. I've tried several other roms and always kept coming back to JDC. It's the fastest and most fluid rom by far, and it's bug free. There is also oreo beta version that is equally fast and fluid, but it's still beta and doesn't have all the features so I'm sticking with 7.1.2 as a daily driver. There is also bb kernel for JDC which I have tried but didn't notice a big difference in performance or battery between stock kernel that comes with JDC rom, so I am using stock. Newer firmware as well (v7.12.14 currently).
I am surprised that people here often recommend some roms that either are not fully functional (PA 7.3.1 doesn't have call volume adjuster for example), or that are utterly slow (latest AEX 7.1.2 for example, very laggy). I don't mean to bash the mentioned roms, I respect the people that develop them, but I wouldn't recommend them as daily drivers.

Whats your opinion on LOS? I have used LOS several times and briefly Mokee Rom. But I kept coming back to MIUI Developer. Is JDC better than LOS at present. I use only one phone so stability is a huge concern.
Great if you can share screenshot of this rom for comparing to the stock one.

Yes. From my experience JDC is more fluid than LOS and LOS based roms, and I have not experienced any instability so far.
I always do a clean flash, currently on last JDC 7.1.2 / Gapps pico / v7.12.14 firmware

I almost forget with JDC Nougat, it's been long time since I open xda for searching ROM, it's good nougat ROM with minimal costumization.
Yes the latest official AEX with stock kernel not so good, try with Nagatobimaru kernel and you will get good performance.
What I mean in my post is AEXmod by DennySPB, It does not release at xda but at telegram. Maybe you can try, for first time reboot it little bit slower because app optimization, but after reboot it gives me good performance and battery life comparing with nougat based ROM.

In my previous post, it is unofficial version. The developers still maintain the ROM and update it if there are any changes on RR base.

last time I used PA ROM, I didn't noticed any annoying bugs, it's stable for daily use.
But it only has little costumization.
For battery life, any nougat ROM have almost same battery life, just little difference 30 minutes SOT usually.

Which ROM do you suggest for battery life? My Mi5 is a year and a half old and the screen time is only 4h on LOS, on a youtube video of 15 min the battery discharge of 5%, is that normal? PS. The bringhtness is set to 30%
I just tried dot os, and im in love with it!! It almost as same as jdc in term of speed, i hope it got a final update where the bugs is all gone, i found a tiny bugs that is not affect performance such as cannot change user's pic, setting in dot extras forced closed when tried to turn off camera sound, and many settings that require to be turned off and on before it works properly, but this is the best rom since JDC in my opinion, hmmmm, havent tried that rr tho, is it so different from that laggy official one?
What I can say, since I want a light but full working ROM, is to go with Xiaomi.eu ROM which has all Miui functions without unnecessary app and battery life, speed, ram management are way better. Unlike other ROM you have not to fix many things not working and set stuff. For example many roms got problems with camera (front or back) so you have to find a solution and since I want things already working I put Xiaomi.eu ROM on my phone and I can be safe.
But actually I'm thinking to try Miui 7 last version because it was the fastest and with better battery consumption. It misses a lot of new features which slow the phone.

I should say that I agree with you. Best ROM considering speed and stability is the xiaomi.eu rom. But LOS and JDC Nougat ROMs are also stable and bug free. If you want a near stock android experience you should try one of them. LOS is better imo as they provide weekly builds. otherwise better to go with the xiaomi.eu ROM.
I have a bad image retention with my display so sadly I'll have to stick with LOS for the rest of the future of my mi5 ....

Any one knows the best battery rom ? for 8.1 because im faceing a lot of problem with a couple of roms except for our stock rom
Not really sure with nitrogen os 8.1 if there was already improvements on it. But I use it before for 8.1 but lack of oxygen os camera push me back on flashing back the stable rom.
Nitrogen OS. Been with it since its early stages, and I can assure you it's the best Oreo ROM I have ever tried, both stability, smoothness and battery wise.
Hope this could help you!
They all good, useless thread.
Asking a question like this will always leave you more confused than before you asked it. Don't ask for the best ROM which has the best xyz features or best battery life.
You can either search for similar threads, or do trial and error flashes of ROMs until you find one that matches you.

There are a lot of thread about the best rom... However i recommend you a stock or stock-based rom on 7.1.1 with a custom kernel.
We need someone super dedicated who can do some tests on idle drains for a few ROMs... So we know which rom is most battery friendly from stock with no user apps/input

idk, I wouldn't call it useless thread, there are certainly some 8.1 ROMs that I can't even get 2 hour SOT on, while others I can get 4.
None of the ROMs out currently have deep sleep to my knowledge. I have tried Nitrogen, DU, Omni, etc and battery still drains while sleeping. It will go from 70 to 30% overnight. I only have Reddit (Boost), Discord, and Telegram installed (with notifications off), Spotify & Shuttle.
i suggest [ROM] theOne3TOS ,its based on offisial OOS,very battery saved during my using process.

Yeah I always noticed OOS had a bit better battery, but I would have to be 1-2 months behind in security patches and using their bloated OS ;(. Granted, its a lot less bloated then other skins.

try Omnidragon you won't regret
this rom is very stable and battery friendly
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...device-development/rom-omnidragon-os-t3806316
Hi, i see a lot of ROM in the rom section for XDA, and I am currently on MIUI 9, and the battery life on this phone have significantly downgraded, does anyone have a reason for this? This phone can only last one day, whereas before it was able to last two days constantly. Majority of the consumption is via Google play services and the Google play store, and I have tried many attempts to fix this drain but failed miserably. So, I was wondering if any can recommend be a battery efficent ROM with everything working, bug-free and would also like to use Magisk, I just web browse and play videos, nothing too taxing on the CPU or GPU, so I don't need a high performance ROM. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
the best ROM for battery life is xuefer LOS 14.1 based on Android 7.1.2, hands down and very stable as well, have used it for half a year as a daily driver. just of course be aware thats it "only" Nougat, not Oreo, and LOS has not as many customization options as other custom ROMs out there.

Used Havoc 9.0 gettin some screen flickering issue and battery drains af

be sure to:
- limit screen brightness to minimum levels you need
- switch off any and all sensors you dont need (wifi, mobile data when on wifi, gps, bluetooth, etc.)
- optimize cpu/gpu/IO governors, clocks, schedulers to your needs
- set app permissions and restrictions for each individual app to your specific needs
i know this is a lot of work, i do it myself every time i installed a new rom. but u only do it once and then u can enjoy maximum battery life i averaged around 18 hours SOT on xuefer, with MSM Oreo and now on ArrowOS Pie im getting around 16h SOT on average.
So one of the things that sold the idea of getting this phone was the existence of an active community and plenty of custom ROMs. So much that I don't have time to try them all.
So can you guys share your own experience, which is your favorite ROM and why?
I can share mine in the following:
From the past couple weeks I've been bouncing between a few and honestly they all were pretty smooth and everything that I needed worked, so basically I will only consider the things I like in them, such as looks and feels.
HavocOS(official)
Pros: the one with the most customizations, there is even this built in theme called Glassy/Transparent that I love, btw is there a similar theme in any other ROM?
Cons: battery life is reasonable but not as good as stock ROM. Sometimes my Bluetooth head set would connect but the audio would only come out from the phone speaker.
PixelExperience(official)
Pros: really deliver the Google pixel experience, smooth, stable, if you like Google you will like this.
Cons: doesn't offer too much in the customizations department but that's just imo, as one could argue that customizations are not the point here, anyway, battery can last a full day but still not as good as stock. Also I'm not sure if this is an confirmed bug or it was just on my end but my phone couldn't fast charge, for some reason it was only slow charging pretty weird.
Superior OS
Truth be told, I saw somewhere saying this ROM was really good, so I've installed but the looks and feels didn't catch my eye, so I didn't used for long, everything seems to work but I can't say how much the battery performs.
AEX 6.7(unofficial)
This is one in using now, is made by the same dev that made SuperiorOS, doesn't have as much customizations as Havoc but it has enough options to make the phone look like the way it pleases me, although I do miss the Transparent theme. As the others so far it's been smooth and stable, it does have things that I like very much such as a Pixel or Oreo recents style, a progress bar in the music notification, my Bluetooth head set worked flawlessly and so far the battery seems to be as good as stock ROM but I will need a couple more days to confirm that.
So please share your thoughts about the ROMs you already tried, have you had any problem with any of them? Is there any ROM that is a must try?
Great post thank you for for bringing it up. I only tried pixel experience and EU Rom. I liked how smooth PE was overall great rom but i have faced some bugs so i decided to try EU Rom. So far i'm happy with MIUI because it's easy to control and i use the appvault often to take quick notes.
ATOM OS
ATOM OS 10.
Open app fast, easy to flash, pin saver, and is android 10.
Sorry my English.
Syberia OS. Enough customization, a little less than Havoc.
Great Battery Life, installed Evira 4.5, Kernel settings: alucardsched and 100mhz for both core clusters. GPU Adreno Idler enabled .
Enjoy a great experience. Only bug for now is LTE Tile in Quicksettings doesnt seem to work for me, but it is no biggy though.
AOSiP pizza
Cuz its the only ROM which has "launch music player when headset or Bluetooth is connected" option even havoc and RR don't have this and it's super useful to me.
The latest build by smglat also comes with genom which gives 10hrs sot easily.
Also the boot animation is dope

The problem with that ROM is that you have to contact the developer directly to find out what Gapps/TWRP to use etc.

I'm also using Atom os, 8 hour SoT and a taste of android 10, with Bitgapps and Gcam. I found the firmware 10.3.6.0 to be the best base for 10, just needed to edit the updater-script
Nice, great suggestion guys, I will def gonna try Siberia OS and AOsip at some point in the future, I briefly tried Atom OS 10 last week but unfortunately it didn't support exFAT for the micro SD card so that's kind a deal breaker for me in any ROM.
So far things have been working in AEX and the battery life is good.
The screenshot is my Sot with AEX from a charge of 90% to 20%, I don't play heavy games like CoD but do play games like Feh and Mario kart.

Xiaomi.eu MIUI 10.3.4 Stable + Evira Kernel 4.5 + Magisk
I was trying other roms like RR, Lineage and crDroid but they all had some bugs. I was finally testing Xiaomi.eu and it is my favorite because it is stable, debloated, has many optimizations and is updated frequently thanks to the large community behind. Also, I have debloated the rom more using XiaomiADBFastbootTools leaving a very simple and smooth rom.
With EviraKernel + Kernel Adiutor I get a great life in the battery using alucardshed or zzmoove governors, underclocking CPU and using Adreno Idler GPU + powersave.
Overclocking CPU (big cluster) up to 2.4ghz thanks to Evira Kernel helps me when I want to emulate things like Sega Saturn which run perfectly on the SD660.
With Magisk I rooted the mobile to be able to install Xposed modules and YouTube Vanced.
I think this combination of xiaomi.eu + evira kernel + magisk is the best I've tried in Redmi Note 7 to date.

Once you select a ROM and go to the download page look at the bottom, there is a changelog there.
I don't think the dev is on xda, even the SuperiorOS thread was created by another user, I was just looking at the dev's androidfilehost page when I saw that AEX had a pretty recent release and decided to try it out. So use it "As is".

well, i tried pixel exp for a while, it was great, but the proximity sensor bugging was annoying to me, so i decided to go with xiaomi.eu stable version. I really liked, i got used to miui interface and atm i think i prefer it over the stock android feel of pixelexp.
Tough i did try to install android 10 beta of pixel experience, but my phone got softbricked every time i tried to flash it so i gave up and decided to go tih xiaomi.eu weekly releases.
Also, the main reason i'll stay with xiaomi.eu is that they base their rom on Chinese stock, which comes directly from the phone vendor, which mean that it is quite less likely that the dev will just get tired of releasing regular updates and the rom get abandoned. I don't wanna get used to a OS only for it to not be supported anymore.. Not saying that it will happen on pixel, just that it is a fear of mine.

Official ResurrectionRemix 7.0.2 (20190705)
Minor bugs (Sometimes phone needs multiple tries to wake up), but no force closes, restarts or similar at all. Even the WhatsApp camera (And therefore WhatsApp Web) can be made to work by enabling and disabling HAL3 in "System > Advanced".
I'm using it for these reasons:
1) Stability. The dream of a daily driver that you can rely on in every circumstance. If I have no signal, I know it's not the ROM, if Hotspot doesn't connect, I know it's not the ROM, if I install an app that doesn't function, I know it's not the ROM. Very few bugs and unimportant ones at that.
2) Customisability. Resurrection Remix is still the gold standard.
3) Battery life. It's phantastic. There may be ROMs that are a tad better, but this RR is already great out of the box, no custom kernel needed.
I know the build is a bit older already, but I still recommend this particular one. It's the last build before another developer took over.

Is the same font used in Nier Automata and in some Nintendo products, I've seen it go by different names you can look up for Rodin font, but the ttf file I used is called CafeSTD. Custom fonts must be manually installed.

Apparently he is using this tool XiaomiADBFastbootTools
But I would argue that a much simpler process, if you have root, would be to just use a file explorer to navigate to these paths:
Code:
/system/app
and
Code:
/system/priv-app
And just delete the apps you don't want to keep, reboot after and it's done.

Using this "Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools"
Download from Github. I can't put the links because I am a new user
you need to have java installed on your computer to make it work.
I am using Unofficial Resurrection Remix 7.0.2 Latest version
As others already said very good rom that you can rely on a daily basis.
Very customizable, fast, no drain in battery.
For my use everything is working fine no bugs.
