How to disable hardware keys in Oreo (Lineage 15.1) - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hi, i installed in my phone the latest build of the Lineage 15.1 to test, and i love it, i used for a long time the lineage 14.1 and to active the on screen buttons i edit the build prop with the line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 and in the archive atmel-maxtouch.kl disable the hardware keys, but in oreo this is diferent, the atmel archive doesnt exist and i dont know what can i edit to solve this.
sorry my bad english and thanks

go to settings search buttons and enable on-screen nav bar option simple

No need to edit build prop

but i cant find it in options, im not with root, how?

Not really it just opened.
Crazy things huh?

Is it the Google Camera Api 2 enabled? Official ROM, Xiaomi.u ROM.

Is the Google Camera Api 2 enabled by default on the official ROM or on the Xiaomi.eu ROM?
Magisk has an option to do it but I don't know if it's necessary or it can be dangerous.
I did with Magisk.
No danger.
But no obvious effect neither.

Double tap 2 wake on Mi A2

Is there any ways to copy Mi 6x Kernel to Mi A2 to enable double tap to wake or something else?
Even if you flash 6X kernel, you wont have option in settings to enable it.
If you want double tap to wake, flash miui 10 or AOSP extended ROM. Both works flawless.

I tried AOSP rom but fp is not available, face unlock is not available even reinstalling Gapps micro, and using Gcam is not working
I guess I have to wait for the update or other roms to come
I was thinking using kernel adiutor but I guess its not possible too on stock rom
Use custom rom for 6x not a2. You need to convert to 6x first. Flash AOSP extended, not aosp gsi rom. AOSP extended is oreo based and do not have any bugs, but you have all tweaks you want.
Use open gapps nano 8.1. face unlock works and everything else.

What a reasons install custom/unofficial roms?

There is alot unofficial roms to install A2. Which is your reason to unlock, root and install custom roms?
Maybe better performance, more fluid experience, more features like double tap to wake your screen, better battery life, interface changes like navbar button placement, full screen gestures etc. Stock is just boring. I am on Havoc ROM currently and it is by far more customizable and more fluid than stock. This is just my opinion and I am enthusiast and I love to try different things almost on daily basis, so...

Where can I find this Havoc ROM for Mi A2? Thanx!
https://sourceforge.net/projects/havoc-os/files/wayne/
Ofcourse, first you need to convert your A2 to 6X and flash via twrp. For gapps you can use opengapps arm64 8.1 nano.

Convert to 6x?
Isn't it more straightforward to flash treble gsi HAVOC 2.0 (more maintained)?

Yes convert to 6x first.
No it is not, because on treble rom there is a lot of buggs and I can not use that for daily driver. USB connection don't work, 4K recording now working, there is no fingerprint in settings, no fingerprint reader etc. Maybe that rom is more maintened, but that is not device specific, so expect a lot of buggs. We need dedicated rom with vendor and etc., not only system.img.
Try for yourself.
