Hello guys, because my battery can't last my working day, i was wondering if it will be possible to gain some time by underclocking/volting the kernel.
Sorry if it's a dumb question but i'm not expert ^^

As far as I know, currently there's no kernel that's support voltage control, but you can control power that used by your device indirectly with tuning CPU clock speed.
Take look at here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/advanced-interactive-governor-tweaks-t3476589
Battery life is depend on how use your phone, ROM and kernel configuration and installed apps, also the battery itself.
Try use AccuBattery to get more battery usage details and health then post here or you can post your full day battery usage from settings, maybe we can give you some advice.

Hello everyone,
I'm running some tests to see the battery consumption on my Galaxy S i9000. I'm using the gingerbread version of darkys ROM.
Firstly, what do you think of the battery life? In this specific test I used the phone in a very light way, made some messages/calls and read few mails.
Secondly, is it normal to have depressions in the battery chart that display less battery than it shows later? How is it computed? Isn't just some logic level of the voltage battery?
Lastly, in the case of buying another battery, is it worthless to be genuine?
Thanks a lot
I have same qestion like you, in the another thread....

Sorry! Obviously I didn't searched properly. Hope someone can clarify us
Is it a gingerbread issue?
Even big batteries will "recover" after heavy use so ur graph is quite normal.
Also be aware that if the battery calibration isnt xorrect then that will lead to weird graphs too. E.g. Losing 1% over 8hrs after flashing a new rom is most likely due to inaccurate battery calibration.

When I install a new rom the battery stats are always deleted? Or it depends?
I also having the same prob...batt consumptions are always the main concern when come to flashing a new rom...Darky's can only last me for 1day with heavy usage and recently flashed to MIUI which can only last for <8hours with the same usage...im not sure why this happen but I am trying with different kernels and see which is the best combination...
I just installed a new gingerbread ROM and guess what.. Using push, wi-fi all the time, gps, 1h youtube video, sms, video call... The battery never ends!! As I'm writing the battery is still 15%. It's amazing the gingerbread in terms of battery consumption. Obviously, something in the other ROM was not right! Guess I'll stick to this battery a little more time.
Btw, the battery stats are pretty normal, no depressions..
can anybody who used all three of the roms comment on the battery life of these ROMS? how do they compare against each other?

im not one to say I have used all 3, ive only used CM7. it was good. actually even MIUI is good but u gotta know how to find your wakelocks with betterbatterystats. that way you can optimize battery life regardless of whatever rom you're on.
I could go 1-2 days on my MIUI currently FR rom, moderate usage, all my syncs are off, i manually refresh for notifications.

What do you mean "but u gotta know how to find your wakelocks with better batterystats" ? I usually dont have anything running in the background...
I have used CM 7, all MIUI, Lewa, and Mokee, and Ice BlacK too
In my view
1. CM7 have better battery life (but as I use to play 3 D games I won't prefer)
2. Second is Galnet MIUI, built by elol, decent battery life with good performance.
3. Third is Mokee, It is the best ROM for gamer and for others too who don't use to play game. It almost serve me for whole day with games, music and all mail, FB, Linkedin sync on for 24 hrs.
For me best choice is "Bumblebee" it's really a stable ROM and give's really great battery life, Best in which i have used.
In term's of Gaming this ROM is really great, it give's games extra smoothness to Game's by increasing FPS with help of it's new GPU derive.
This all make this ROM as my daily use ROM.

google xda betterbatterystats. download the app and follow the thread, those are uber battery sensitive people in the community.
so you manually sync all your apps as well? even calendar? and leave gtalk signed out?
wakelocks are what keeps the phone away from entering deep sleep. from the betterbatterystats app, if u see ur device entering 96% and above Deep Sleep after a night's full charge and allowed to idle, then good job, no matter what rom ur running u should be doing it right.
wakelocks are what cause a battery drain even when your phone is off idle while u sleep. it isnt only about background apps.
Yes,,I was use betterbatterystats,,I have managed all wakelocks and partial too,,it's give me battery life more time
But battery use info from setting doesn't change,,still give me "Android System" for highest % deal,,

flash stock rom and see if the problem persists. If it does return your phone and get a new one. You've got no other go!!!

post your dump here. and also at the BBS thread where u got the app.
so unless you are getting 96% and above deep sleep, id say you have not completely managed your wakelocks yet. also what are your governor and i/o scheduler settings? OC'ed at? do you have a screen off profile to lower clock speed when screen off?
battery use info may show that, but most important is u charge your phone to full, let it discharge while u sleep and wake up next day, OBTAIN 96% DEEP SLEEP OR HIGHER. figure out what are the wakelocks in BBS. if BBS is managed correctly, even if your android system is using highest %, no big deal, more importantly your battery isn't draining like mad.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I've manage to figure out (not really figure, more like a hunch/guess) what went wrong. its the kernel.
now im using Apocalypse ROM [Firekernel OC] by itasoulas
Im really sorry but I dont understand any of the tech stuff posted here, but what I do know is that my 1 yr old battery on my Ace is like worth 3 minutes of calls now (only)!!!
Pls help. Should I get a new battery instead?
Thanks!

Obviously, yes!
~~~when I say,'HENSHIN',u better run~~~
Hey,Check how much you have clocked your phone at and the governer
Settings>CyanogenModSettings>Performance(press OK for the warning)>CPU Settings;If the governor is ONDEMAND, change it to Smartassv2 and increase Min value to 245. I use Apocalypse and my battery life is awesome(check the attachments).
Second lower your screen brightness simple yet effective. also increase the Max value in the CPU settings to 902 for zero lag.Also set the network to only 2G if you dont want your 3G on all the time.This saves lot of battery life too.
Press Thanks If I helped
DCTopTeam - u can check the physical battery condition whether is bloated (feels expanded), this is an indicator that the battery is about to die
Flash a kernel, i recommend The ace kernel beta 4, it is discontinued, but has no bugs, a long battery life included
902 seems high... that might drain the battery faster. i don't go higher than 825.
I used a small trick to disable fast dormancy and it increased my battery life considerably. Check this link here Disable Fast Dormancy to increase battery life
Hi everyone, i have 3 ics questions if you can help me. I installed crash rom a week ago and i have this questions.
1) My phone is a lot of time hot, is this normal on ics or is for the rom? If the phone is hot, means that the battery is drainning?
2) I have the rom for a week, its recommended to do a battery calibration? If yes, any good method to do it?
3) When long press the middle button a list of app appears. This app are in memory drainning my bat or not? i usually have at least 10.
Well thanks for you help and sorry but my english.
Regards.
1. Download cpu spy to check what's using the cpu and what level its at, there may be a rogue app, or maybe the kernel is the issue.
2. There's no real thing such as battery calibration, the battery will settle after 2 or 3 full cycles after flashing a new rom. Just let it do its thing.
3. Android has a good memory management which is improving all the time. Something in memory does not use battery, only if it's using cpu and screen or peripherals does it use battery, so no, you don't have to worry about the memory management.
I'm a noob and I've used search but can't find any answers! Does anyone know of any battery extender kernel for android 4.2.2 cm 10.1? Currently on RevoltRom V1 and the battery drains so fast, 100-70 in one hour, I have to use juice defender on aggressive :/! Thank you very much in advance!
No it wont work on cm10.1 because battery extender kernel is for stock roms only.
Also the juice defender app does not work very well at all.
If you want to save battery reduce brightness level to the maximun possible, kill extra process(check it in dev options), UV cpu's frequencies and use governors as conservative/ondemand. Also you can unistall usless apps, 2g connection and disable sync etc
next time ask for it in Q & A Thread PLEASE!
Thanks everyone! And I'm sorry, I will do next time
