Looking for a package disabler for the Note 8 that still works? Don't care if it's paid or not... I'm not rooted BTW

Plus 1 for BK
Bk package disabler
Sounds like the latest update has disabled BKs ability to disable services which makes it useless. BK is still working if you have disabled auto updates though. I disabled updates as soon as I installed it after my experience with Easy Disabler and Package disabler pro updating to remove functions on the N7.
BK Package Disabler (Samsung) this worked with Nougat. But now my phone has the Oreo update I can't get the app to work. Anyone else with Oreo got this working?

Yea Oreo on Samsung is a pain in the rear... I can't get any of the BKD apps to work on my S9+ on Oreo (TM variant) for example. Totally sucks..
It completely kills the buzz with these virus so called updates that are only locking us out more and more...
We need to stop this madness with the herd mentality that updates are a must to jump on... they are nothing but viruses to me... it completely ruins the device if there is no way to roll back, which in most cases is true...
Nougat is much preferred. Heck, I miss Jelly Bean 4.3 lol for you OG's ....

Care to share how you got it working with oreo? Im stuck at "Activate SDK license"...
I have Package Disabler pro + working on my Note 8 with clean installed Oreo. First I had errors and when trying to disable a package there was an error that it was not supported.
After I installed Disconnect Pro the error messages with PDP+ were gone and able to disable packages. I think this was related to the KMS user agreement not popping up with PDP+ and it did pop up with Disconnect Pro.
The developer of this app updated the app and the extension. Now it works on Oreo ??
I just use the pkg disabler on SABS and it's working fine, plus you get ad blocking with no root and no battery impact at all...

The developer provided the old BK Plugin on his website. Just don't update, make sure auto update is turned off.

I upgraded my Note 9 to Android 9. Since that day, Package Disabler no longer works. When I disable the 2 applications managing themes, after 10 minutes fateful, the previous theme is automatically reselect.
The developers told me this (see screenshot attached)
Does anyone have an idea to replace Package Disabler Pro?
Thank you

I am highly against package disabler for samsung phones from nougat up. It don't really bring any benefits, only problems and battery drains. samsung nougat update is really great to put to "deep sleep" unused services/apps. Oreo is better, Pie even better... so no real gains. Contrary, when some service needs another one, it will drain constantly the battery.

Either, but Package is very handy for using themes not available on the store theme
I wouldn't use a package disabler but... Bixby though. Mispress the button is always happening plus it always shows those Spotify recommendation banner that's impossible to get rid of so I decided to ditch all of it though disabling.
oops, read it wrong. Delete
I'm on oreo and with bxactions, smart nav and good theme there's nothing I really want but maybe a darker navbar in some Apps
Photo's[emoji2398] by Sully using SM-N960U or SM-870A
I just re-enabled Bixby to try the built in remapping and of course too many hoops to get it to map to Google Assistant so I just disabled all the Bixby packages again .. using Package Disabler Pro. It works fine on mine. I would not see any reason for it not to work on someone else's phone. Mine is a 960U Note 9 running One UI.
Also, @high_voltage Package Disabler Pro isn't like Greenify. It doesn't just put apps to sleep when they autostart it is just a UI to the default ability to disable unused packages so yes, it's useful. I don't want to just sleep apps ... I want them unavailable to the system and to not even start.

You can disable apps though ADB (or even uninstall them if you're sure that you don't want them).

Type in ADB:
pm list packages
To get the installed packages (use the -s parameter of it doesn't show system ones), then:
pm disable-user --user 0 <your.Package>

I got a 404 error with the browser, while it's just not showing in the app.
I have found the good command for adb.

Code:
Package com.samsung.android.themestore new state: disabled-user
But after 10 minutes, the old theme is reactivate

Perform a Google search. There's sites with instructions and download links. There's also a thread in the Note 9 forums with AdHell in the title. Should be easy to find.
If you "su" with ADB you should be able to disable it globally like AdHell, but since it is for giving you root access I wonder if:
1. It is working?
2. Does it trip Knox and everything else?

In bixby settings you can change the button from a single press to double press to activate, that way it will not trigger on it's own again.

You have to delete Google Play Services folder from /data/data in TWRP file manager.

worked fine until star of march... Still no luck for me on latest xaiomi.eu with magisk 18.1 and all hide like your pic

Any other idea? (currently with MIUI 10.4, xiaomi.eu 9.4.28, Magisk 19.0 and Magisk Manager 7.1.1)
The only filesystem modifications on the phone are Magisk and AdAway.
BTW, can you give me the full path to delete in /data/data?

Build prop method doesn't work anymore on android 10.
You have to use patched Samsung health app for rooted devices
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/how-to/knox-patched-samsung-health-6-3-0-027-t3919737
Uninstall the current samsung health app first then install patched apk
Then sign in with Samsung account in Samsung health app then you can update the app to latest version from galaxy apps.

Unfortunately this is the only patched apk available at this moment and it's not compatible with android 10.
You can contact the developer of the patched apk and he can make a new version if you request to him.

I have routed the requests over the DNS, all what I could find is the domain of the bank, if I block it the app will keep loading

I had the same situation and what helped me was to also block every Google service from root. So not just the bank app, but any Google app. Also blocking the package installer from detecting root helps. After doing all that, uninstall the app, reboot the phone, and reinstall the app.

Hi,
I got a Oneplus Nord CE 5G (Europe) and need help:
I'm trying to manually update my phone with an zip file from "Oxygen Updater".
In the tutorial, they say that you should go into Settings > System > System update, and then tap on the top-right corner button.
I don't have that top-right corner button, just an normal & simple update screen. (You can see it in the screenshot)
So then, I found somewhere on the internet that you can update via the Recovery Menu, but I couldn't, it only said "Wipe data", "Reboot to fastboot/Recovery".
What do I do now? (I have the Developer Options enabled btw)
And another thing if someone knows:
I and my friend both have the same european 1+ Nord CE 5G, but he already has the Oxygen 12 Update, which I don't have.
He didn't root it or did any things, he just randomly got it. Why does he have it and I don't?
I put a screenshot of my current Oxygen OS Build too!
It's because default updater on OOS11 is google based so it does not allow local update. However you can still install oxygen updater plus you'll need activity launcher (from google play store) to launch it.

So you upgraded from 11 to 12 through the sideloaded app while being rooted? Did you get any problem?
I was wondering this since I used to do this for the updates of OxygenOS 11 but I'm not sure if it could cause issues when upgrading to a new version entirely.
