Spotify Cover Fullscreen Lockscreen - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hey guys,
it always bugged me that the playback notification of Spotify on the lockscreen is kinda ugly. Is there any way to change this to a fullscreen "notification", including setting the wallpaper to the cover of the current track? (EMUI 8, rootless)
Appreciate your answers!

I'm looking for this since P10's release. Don't find anything, yet. Huawei doesn't really cares what their customers thinking and wanting. They tried to copy Apple's iOS GUI experience but they didn't implement Spotify, Deezer, SoundHound and other music apps in their player API, which looks very nice and has smart cover support.
Is there any Android phone with this kind of integration out there?

Captivate ICS Rom Google Music Lockscreen controls black screen

I have a working ICS from on my captivate (not sure which I can send screenshots) with built in google music lock screen controls. Problem is that while it shows the album art, it replaces my wallpaper with plain black and it looks really terrible. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to disable these lock screen controls. Thanks
You can try checking out the settings within the music application, but I'm pretty sure that's just the way it is.
Try out some other music applications. I use Poweramp which is a paid app, but there are some good free customizable ones.

Music Widgets that Work with HTC Music App

I just installed another launcher (Action Launcher Pro), so I no longer have access to the HTC widgets. I want a basic music widget with play/pause, next/previous, album art and artist/song name. Basically, something like the stock HTC widget. 4x1 or 4x2 would be ideal sizes.
I have tried:
Plug In Music Widget: Perfect functionality, pretty ugly.
Phantom Music Control: No album art. Also, instead of a pause button, it has a stop button, meaning pressing play after that restarts the song. :-/ Also, it's feature of tapping the widget to open the music app also doesn't work for some reason, it says that it was unable to open the app.
Pure music widget: No previous button on any of the widgets other than the 4x4 one, which is too big.
Anyone got any other suggestions?

I use .. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zZXlhLnBsdWdtdXNpYyJd
Very good imo, not 100% sure if it works on the default HTC player but it works fine on the Google one.

Works perfect on the HTC player. I guess it is better than the previous winner, since it does everything I need.
Ideally, I just need one that looks better because this one is pretty ugly. However, I guess beggars can't be choosers, so if I don't find a better looking one, this is the winner.
Ugly is a very subjective word, what's ugly to you may be beautiful to someone else ... Saying that, I have mine set up with a transparent background and other stuff so that it works well with my wallpaper and screen setup ...

That's not a bad way to implement it. However, you had to put a lot of effort to get that 1 specific look. What I like about some widgets, like the HTC music widget, is that it's very versatile and looks good with just about any scenario.

True, I quite like a minimal look, although for me, there's a lot going on in that screenshot I posted lol .. I agree, the HTC music widget is nice, I'm just not a fan of the background colour, I think all widgets should allow you to change the background.

Zooper +media utilities under lollipop

Seems like no one in this forum knows about it so I'll ask my question here.
For me it doesn't work, can someone confirm? Or are there ways to make media utilities run properly under 5.0?
Media utilities is a no go, Not yet at least. Zooper pro works with some launchers but not all.
Its hit and miss... Enable notification access than in zooper make sure direct control and alternative data collection are selected.. Track, artist, and album text works... Album art does not unless you uncheck alternative data collection... But then the other stuff is broken.

I'm a bit late to the discussion but have (kind of) managed a workaround for this.
Download "Jacks Music Widget' and use the smallest music widget, which I think is 4x1.
Resize this widget using Nova, this effectively hides all the music controls and gives you a full size album art.
From there add your Zoopers on top.
I have this set up and it works great. Probably even better as Jacks music widget changes the artwork almost immediately and you have the added benefit of it not clogging up your Gallery, which MediaUtilities does.
You could just use Jacks Music widget tbh, but if your like me and need to personalise everything about your phone then its a little workaround that works.
I've attached a screen showing you my set up

Thank you both for the information! I'll give both methods a try.
Side note: Why aren't there more complaints of this problem?
Do only a small amount of people use Media Utilities with Zooper??? (unlikely)
Are only a small amount of people on Lollipop?
Is there an alternative program that folks are using with Zooper/Lollipop???
If you really need the functionality and arent attached to a launcher you could use themer which has MU built in, the same devs as MU, they've pretty much focused all their efforts on themer.

Thank you for the suggestion... :good:
Themer
The only problem with themer is that it kills my battery.
is it possible to turn off the Media Utilities notification in the drop-down window in Lollipop?
says "Zooper counts monitor active"....really wanna remove it from the dropdown.
Thanks.

Notification badges and character recognition

Hello everyone,
I've got a little question regarding the notification badges on my P7-L10. I always thought there were none which is the reason I have Nova set as my default launcher with an addon for notification badges, but I've just seend a video on YouTube with a comparison between the Mate 7 and the P8 Max and the Mate7 had some apps with notifications. Did I miss something? is there anything I need to activate to get them or was that added with an update that the P7 doesn't have?
I'm not unhappy with Nova Launcher but I like the basic launcher from Huawei so if I could use that, I would me more than happy.
My second question is about the music player, I have some music or genre like "reggaeton" with an accent above the "o" but in my music app it doesn't display those character properly. Instead I see some weird symbols and It kinda pushed me to using another music player but once again, if I could use the default music player, I would more than satisfied.
Can anyone help me with this? Sorry if the question has already been asked, and thanks for your time!

2) for second question i'm sorry but i don't know...maybe have you installed theme with custom font?

Thanks for the answer man
as for the first question, I tried it and yeah, i saw the notification badges, I actually use nova launcher since i got the phone and never went back to check ^^
as for the second question, i tried another theme and didn't see any changes in the music app (I still see those chinese symbols). It's not a big deal as I don't have any character problem in Play Music and Rocket Player.
thanks for your answer

Lock screen theme/magazine that works with Google Play music??

I use the magazine unlock as I like some of the options that are in there, but the music player for Google Play music is terrible, anyone else found this?
I'd like to know if anyone uses a theme that shows the music artwork on the lockscreen??
I am not aware of any way.
I use Echo Lockscreen from the play store as that gives me a better control but no artwork.

Nils lockscreen notifications + xperia music player works great with the stock lockscreen. Gives you full control over all notifications.
The main issue I am suffering is not being able to turn off the stock lockscreen, something to do with encryption which is an annoyance.
