Hello All,
I have just recently made the move from iphone 4 to Android. Galaxy Note is my first ever android phone and i must say i am impressed. Everything is working the way i want it to except one thing that just bugs the hell out of me.
I am still new to android so my phone is pretty default, meaning i have not modified any of the core things or in iphone terms, "jail-broken" it. I am currently on the 2.3.6 version of Android.
Now, the app that allows me to make phone calls, named "Phone" is giving me an inconvenience. The menu bar that has "Keypad", "Logs", "Contacts" and so forth is at the very top of the phone. The Galaxy Note being a rather big phone, requires me to stretch my thumb on either hand in order to reach it.
Is it possible to move that menu bar to the bottom of the phone instead of the top?
A friend of mine told me i'd be able to adjust it if i'm on ICS, can anyone who is currently running ICS confirm that?
Thank You In Advance,
Good Day
Yep, just be patient!

I purchased my gear yesterday and after finding and instaling the gear manager via samsung's app store I am happy to report that the only 2 things i don't have working at the moment is Svoice... seems to be a bug telling me to accept a disclaimer on the s4 itself but I have already done it and am using Svoice. Two is Notifications of txts and some others... got google now notifications to come thru but most others won't push to the watch. Contacts list... Phone dialer and speakerphone call log and apps work GREAT!!
Thanks guys.. now lets get this thing rooted and fix these two problems cuz id love notifications... a custom rom and my google now to replace the svoice please... Im willing to donate NOW. lol I really want handcent notifications and a way to respond by voice to a handcent txt on the watch..
People look at me like I'm :cyclops: but I could'nt care less cuz I'm walking around looking like Capt Kirk on his communicator.
:highfive::laugh:
Running HyperDrive from sbreen latest release.
Same here on an ME7 Verizon S4. Looking forward to the 4.3 update.
Working on GS3 too
Bought the gear today, hoping it will show the time at least until 4.3 update is out for gs3 in December, but happy to report that it's working with the gear manager downloaded from the Samsung store. Also notifications aren't working, same message for S Voice as above, can't download new apps and weather isn't syncing - everything else is working great! Call quality is surprisingly good, camera fun... really happy Samsung customer here
With the recent release of the MJ7 update for the S4 have either of you seen any issues fixed with notifications?
Hi guys,
I have a Galaxy Note 3 presently and it's having some minor software issues + issues with the loudspeaker. I can't be bothered fixing them - so I'm going to use it as an excuse to upgrade! Therefore, I'm going to get a Note 5. I haven't researched it much but assume it's a big improvement on the Note 3...
I don't use my phone for anything more than calls, messages, emails, Facebook and Snapchat really. I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, but I do need the following features:
1) Bypass exchange security settings on emails that require you to put a PIN/Password to unlock your phone every single time. I have been able to do this on the Note 3.
2) Remove messages from the call log. Not sure if this was fixed in the newer android versions but it was very annoying when I first got my phone. I only want to see calls in my call log.
How can I do the above on the Note 5 with the least amount of stuffing around/customising my phone?
Also, are there any 'must have' accessories for the Note 5? And should I be considering any other phones as alternatives before I go ahead and buy a Note 5?
Cheers

hi ,
i can give you an idea or two ..it's up to you if you want to do it .
Firstly ,i have Note 2,Note 3 Note 4 and Note 5 .
What it did was with my Note 3 was installed a custom Rom Phronesis port of Note5 .
Its a very stable Rom and a clone of Note 5 software. I must admit, it very identical to Note 5 ,smooth ,fast ,no hiccups . ect
Secondly I just check my call log and only see phone calls listed ,no messages .
Thirdly cannot help you with that ,sorry .
Fourthly , as stated i have nearly whole Note range and really enjoy Note5 ,smoothness ,performance battery life on par with my other Notes ..very good
Bottom line ,
Its your decission ?.
good luck
I have a stock N920C ,not rooted .

Thanks mate. With my Note 3, the call log shows messages and calls received/made/missed, which is stupid. You can set it to show only calls, but then it reverts back again. Perhaps this was rectified in newer software versions, but as standard the Note 3 shows calls and messages in the log.
I need a new phone regardless, as my loudspeaker on my current phone is not working, but thanks for the idea.
Any advice on the Exchange Security bypass would be appreciated...

hi ,
I agree that your decision to get new device
is a good idea .Just wanted you to know, if you wanted to keep your "old " Note 3 ,you can spice it up ,(as a second backup device .)
Re the call log and messages ,there's a simple solution .Samsung log converter (free app ..Google Play ) see screenshots .
I used it for my Note 3 and my Note 8.0 tablet ,to seperate log messages from call log works fine on Note 3 and Note 8.0
I am suprised you have not used it ..?
Anyway ,good luck
Thanks alot, that app worked a treat!
Just need some help with the exchange security bypass now...
Thanks
I use an application called nine for my exchange emails it has a bypass built in the app and is far superior to the standard Samsung email app. It's a paid app but for exchange it's the best I've used.

Thanks mate - does your phone need to be rooted to use the bypass? I'm guessing so....?
Need to be rooted to use bypass in the normal email app.

Cheers,
Once rooted, how do I bypass the settings in the normal email app?
Cheers
Hi guys,
I'm told I can probably just root, and check if there are any apps that allow me to bypass the exchange settings.
Failing this, I'm told I could go the Xposed module and apply the fix, or use a ROM which has it built in. Which path should I go down? What's the difference?
Cheers
Hello people!
I want to address to everyone who can help!
I need an app for Android Pie with very simple but hard to find feature. Auto answer phone call from pre selected list of callers.
I have never thought that it could be a hard to find app, but my friend who drive a bike and already had 2 tickets for using his phone when driving asked me to find an app that can automatically pick up the phone when his boss, wife and son call him. First moment I thought I will need like 10 seconds to find it but, after trying about 15 apps I found that none of them actually work. The one that works on my phone with android 8, but is not supported by android 9 and we could not even install it. He has SM-G955U - galaxy S8+ and he updated his phone recently to Pie.
If anyone knows working app could be free or paid which support this feature I would really appreciate your help.
Most of the apps that claim they support it are outdated and were updated 2-3 years ago. We tried about 15 of them and none of them work. It could be simple app or complicated project with tons of features it doesn't matter. We just need phone auto answer calls when this feature is active.
We did it already

We searched and tried all we could find and nothing works on Pie. We tried to email developers but no answers so far.
Hi... I am pretty sure this is a general Samsung Galaxy line question, but I own the FE so I hope it's OK that I post my question here. A couple of years back Samsung removed the ability to pick a custom text notification soundbyte for numbers in your Contacts (the setting was in CONTACTS, just under the ability to pick a custom ringtone for CONTACTS. It upset a lot of folks (certainly I'm one of them), and I know there are several posts out there on other sites to this effect. Is there is anything that can be done? I didn't see any question/answers on this topic in XDA so far, but I'm hoping (praying) that someone here knows of or has a fix to remedy this? Samsung eventually did eventually put in a way to put a custom soundbyte to "Conversations" in the "Messages" text app but it's not the same thing. If a person has a one on one conversation with a contact, then this option for Samsung works fine. But if that same person becomes part of a group text, then the custom soundbyte does not work/apply since that contact is now in a different conversation. (It DID work the old way before Samsung dropped it). I'm told there "was" an app that solved this problem ("there's an app for everything"), but I can't find it and it may have been discontinued. Anyone know of a way to do this again? An app or Mod? Please? Calling Samsung on this issue is an exercise in futility, since the reps that answer don't always much more that the scripts they are provided. Thank you all in advance
