Does anyone have this on Sprint and does it have Wifi Calling activated? I know some carriers don't do certain phones
i'm on sprint, no native wifi calling. HD calling is supported though
Works with Sprint. Confirmed. Just call
It's called wifi connect and some phones don't have the toggle to show you. All you need to do is call Sprint and they will turn it on the x4. It's not on by default on unlocked phones so you must call them to enable it.
I just got off the phone with them. It works automatically.

How do I check for HD calling? Does an HD icon appears during the call?

Are you sure about wifi calling on Sprint with this phone? Can you upload a pic of a wifi call? When I had this phone on T-Mobile there was a wifi call toggle and an icon appeared with info when on a wifi call. Now that I have on Sprint there's no wifi toggle which should be indication that wifi calling is not supported on Sprint.

HD calling will come up automatically whenever you call someone else on Sprint, as long as you both have an LTE connection.
I just chatted with Sprint online customer service, who told me Wifi calling is not available for the Moto x4.

Hi, on my Moto x on Verizon, even when im on Wifi at home (usually a pretty good signal) it still searches and is constantly trying to connect to a Verizon mobile signal. The problem is that in my house we have a terrible signal (usually low 1x to emergency calls only) so when receiving calls or texts, the call either drops out constantly or never goes through, and i get texts hours later and sometimes when i send they never go through.
It seems that even though im connected to Wifi, its only using that for data and is using the mobile connection for everything else. On my GNex when i connected to wifi it would basically ignore the mobile connection at that point and use wifi for everything. It wouldnt even show if i had a 1x/3g/lte connection at that point. The moto x continues to show me what data connection i have on wifi. Is this how the moto x just works, or is this just some weird device specific or verizon issue?
Turn on airplane mode, then wifi. Airplane= no mobile data.

That's how all android phones work. SMS and MMS don't use data (unless your using Google voice). Your GNex didn't ignore the wireless signal (there would be no way to route calls and texts without it). You can call Verizon and they will put in a signal booster for free.

also the signal booster will be tied to your wifi connection so now when you have a good wifi connection you should have a good signal. With the booster your texts and phone calls will not be going through your wifi network. The type of service verizon uses doesn't let them router phone calls and texts through wifi networks. I believe tmobile or some other brands have the ability to do this already but verizon doens't. Not the phones fault its the radios the carrier uses.

how do you get them to do that for free? i need one of them since this phone has been getting worse signal than any of my previous phones (including my gnex).

just complain enough that your signal is so bad that it is not usable in your house. You might have to call the I am going to cancel service hotline and say you will leave because you aren't getting service. Just complain some more. then ask for supervisor. complain some more. eventually some one will offer you one for free.
T-Mobile has that ability. That's the primary reason I have them for my backup phone (the cheap Lumia 521). I have that phone set to default to WiFi calling so while I'm at home it never uses the TMo network. Unfortunately, the Moto X does not support this feature.

Has anyone on Verizon have Google voicemail working on there line? When someone calls and I don't answer or I dismiss a call instead of sending the call to google voice It just keeps on ringing! I'm very well fluent in using and setting up GV but this is frustrating
Just seeing if there's anyone else having this problem
Anyone?
Give it time for people to answer. Rules state you must wait 24 hours to bump a thread.
mine seems to be working properly,
i use google voice as like a free visual voicemail. if i dont answer it forwards to my google voice account and takes a message. then it sms-s me back a visualization of the voicemail. that i can read or listen through google talk app
Mine is not working properly. G-voice will not pick up when you call my Nexus 6. It will ring, then be silent on the other line, then ring again.
I can disable gvoice via *73 and my verizon voicemail will work as expected. I try to activate the gvoice voicemail again via *71 and its back to working as above where gvoice voicemail will not pickup when you call my cell.

got it figured out. It's Advanced Calling. Disable Advanced calling on the line and it goes back to working as expected.
I cant use advanced calling anyway cause I'm on a network extender at home and it doesnt work with network extenders.
@RXWatcher Thank You!! It was advanced calling. All is good again.

I use GV through hangouts+hangouts dialer on VZW. I do have Enhanced 4G LTE Mode enabled and my calls come in and out fine.
i have it checked too and mine seems to work fine.. on my network extender huh
its not about calling via gvoice..that works. It's using gvoice voicemail as a replacement for verizon's voicemail.
There are threads on xda of others having this issue with advanced calling and gvoicemail. Some had to remove the cell from gvoice, switch back to verizon's vmail, re-add the line back to gvoice, redo the codes, etc.
I dont need advanced calling as it appears to be verizon phone to verizon phone only and then both lines need it enabled and it for sure doesnt work with a network extender. I went to verizon tech support on that one.
The simple fix is to remove the Advanced Calling and my gvoicemail works as expected. Given a choice between the two, I will take gvoicemail.

I dont know..maybe I have an old extender unit. I got my nexus 6 and it wasnt using the network extender. I tested via #48. I called into tech support and worked with them.
I had to disable "Enhanced 4G LTE mode" on the phone for it to connect to the extender and #48 proved it was connected to it.
Maybe yours is newer.

So I cant get wifi calling or volte to work on metro pcs.
BUT
I popped in a deactivated project fi sim and it reconfigured for wificalling volte. I then restarted with the metro pcs card and I had wifi calling for about 5 seconds before the phone said configuring for your network and rebooted.
Anyone have any idea? It seems the XZ1c is seeing the metro card and turning off that stuff. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with weather it will actually work or not.
It's just not just not working, the xz1c takes away all the features *#*#4636#*#* has volte and wificalling grey and non switchable. With the project fi sim those are turned on.
Maybe i should just switch to t-mobile...

I use "Ting", an MVNO that uses T-Mobile for their towers (like MetroPCS I think?) and I got WiFi calling working through this guide:
https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/comments/7dlwe7/xz1_compact_fingerprint_scanner_volte_wifi/
The gist is you use UK firmware but replace the UK's OEM.sin file with the US OEM.sin file.
Did wifi calling not work before you reflashed ? Also has anyone tried this on the newest update?
Any progress on this? I'm in the exact same boat with Metro PCS - would love to get wifi calling and/or VoLTE working on my xz1 compact but don't want to go flashing roms until I know it'll remedy the issue.
I have the xz1, after flashing the compact's OEM.sin I tried to get volte, needless to say with my metropcs sim it didn't work. So I grabbed an old straight talk(t mobile carrier) sim and even though the sim isn't active the volte option was there and then I grabbed another working t mobile mvno which when put in the phone worked great HD calling while staying on LTE. So in conclusion it is a metropcs sim problem and I am not sure what if anything can be done about it. I know the sim can do volte, before I bought my xz1 I had an LG k20, and my wife had an LG G5 both of those volte worked perfectly.

The basics of it though are this, if you don't have an E911 address in metro system you put on in and then change the apn

Did you ever have any success? If so, how did you get it working?
Hello all,
I have an unlocked Moto G6 on Verizon on which I'd like to enable wi-fi calling. I called Verizon and they supposedly provisioned wifi calling to our account, but when I try to activate it via:
Phone App
Click the three dots on the upper right hand corner
Click Settings
Click Calls
Enable the Wifi Calling toggle
Wifi calling is not there. Also, when going to *#*#4636#*#*, wifi calling is greyed out and I can't toggle it on.
A preliminary Googling suggests that the unlocked Moto G6 is incapable of wifi calling because it does not have the necessary HD Voice and Wifi Calling software from Verizon. Supposedly the Verizon Moto G6 also has a different IMEI. However, it seems to me that if both versions of the phone have identical hardware, they should both be capable of wifi calling.
Has anyone run into this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can enable wifi calling on my Moto G6?
at present verizon does not let any non vzw branded device use wifi calling.
which seriously sucks, but then again, we are talking about verizon, so...
Hi, guys.
Just wondering if any of you have working VOLTE/WIFI calling on your Pixel 5.
I'm on Vodafone UK and none of these are working, I don't get the options for the two in Network settings.
Apparently, they are not provisioned ATM.
Have you had more luck with your operators?

all working for me on 3
Yeah, I had a feeling going with Vodafone is a mistake...
Working here with O2. They have a guide on the Vodafone website for the Pixel 4 so can't see why it doesn't work with the 5. https://deviceguides.vodafone.co.uk...ress the phone icon.&text=Press Wi-Fi calling.
Well, it's Vodafone. Apparently one of their geniuses has to add a line of code somewhere..
Anyway, the guide for P4 asks for activation from within the phone app's settings and the Wifi calling/Volte settings are missing from there on the Pixel 5.
On BT Mobile i have Wi-Fi calling after turning it on in the mobile network settings, the VoLTE option is also there, it is greyed out but set to the on position.

No VoLTE, tried it whilst out and about and the call quality was terrible after being used to it for so long.
I'm on iD mobile who use Three. I can see that volte and wifi calling have been provisioned and i have the option for turning wifi calling on but can't see an option for turning volte on.

Yup been through all the options and can't see it!
It seems it's different for every operator, I can only suggest to give ID a phone call..
I'm on 3, have no issues at all
Wifi Calling
works on my P5, also a 3 user
option is found under Settings, Network and Internet, Mobile Network, Advanced, Wi-Fi Calling
I'm on Vodafone and I don't have settings for WiFi calling either. Funnily enough when I got text message from Vodafone to download internet settings they didn't even have the pixel 4a/ 4a 5g or 5 on there.. so that's probably why people on Vodafone can't enable it because Vodafone themselves haven't added the phones on for WiFi calling
https://deviceguides.vodafone.co.uk/google/?type=all&topic=turn-wi-fi-calling-on-or-off
Check out this thread on Vodafone forum, will try it myself and see if it works

Okay so update for Vodafone users, I got it working.
Following the second link above, 1. Go into Vodafone app and turn off WiFi calling, restart phone. 2. Go back into Vodafone app and turn back on WiFi calling (wait for 3/5 minutes and then restart phone again (you should receive a text from Vodafone saying it's enabled on your account). 3. Go to call app > settings> calls>WiFi calling>enable.
It also shows on networking settings in advanced now too.
Now I'm connected to WiFi calling, hope this helps Vodafone users

It works for me now. Just try the following:
On MyVodafone app, disable wifi calling and immediately restart the phone. Then enable it again and immediately restart the phone. The Wifi calling settings should appear on Settings/Network and Internet/Mobile network (Vodafone)/Advanced.
At least they have in my case.

Happy to help, it's fkin frustrating to be in your house with only edge signal, hardly able to have a phone conversation, waiting for Vodafone to do its job.

What an arse i am, turns out the other caller was using their phone on speakerphone, made a few calls since and VoLTE is working just fine on BT Mobile.
Neither is working for me as well, but was working fine on my old phone.
What I noticed on my device is that it came from Google with the "KDDI only" build on it(see https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-5/help/kddi-variant-t4178033), which I suspect might be related to the issue.
