speculation of course, but: since both mi max 1 and mi max 2 were released in may/june, i think its pretty reasonable to assume the same for the mi max 3
so still about 3-4 months to go.

Looks very well.

Depending on which part of the world, the phone might only be available much later. I'll probably add 3 months to 3-4 months if you're not part of the countries that Xiaomi launches their products.

i was thinking to wait for mi max3, but i will buy mi max 2 soon

oh its not about me, im perfectly happy with my phone. im just saying, since mi max 3 is coming out in like 3 months, dont regret your decision if you go for a mi max 2 now!
some people fall easily for buyer's regret, just because a short time after they got a product its successor is released...

I heard Mi Max 3 screen is the new tall screen format, so it might be actually smaller than mi max 2

yes and no. so far, the rumours point towards a mi max 3 18:9 display as opposed to 16:9 in mi max 1&2. its correct that 18:9 displays actually offer less total area than 16:9 displays at identical diagonals.
BUT if the mi max 3 truly sports a 7 inch display, the total area will still be larger than 6.44 inch diagonal of the 16:9 display found in mi max 1&2
so its gonna be even bigger

MI MIX 2+ at the end of March?

Hi Guys, are You speaking about "Mi Mix 2 is the new Mi Mix"?
WRONG!
Mi Mix 2 is just a new version of Xiaomi Borderless smartphone.
At the end of march/first days of april, Xiaomi will have an event to show a new device:
XIAOMI MI MIX 2+ (Mi Mix 2 Plus)
same design of the Mi Mix2 but with 6,4" Oled display.
Other technical features:
94,3% display area
Qualcomm 945 (not confirmed)
8Gb ram
256Gb memory
MicroSD + Wireless Charge (we all hope....)
Miui 9 with Android Oreo
same NOT good camera like Mi Mix/Mi Mix 2 (but with 4k 60fps Video) :crying:
*Source internal worker, confirmed from gearbest friends
What do you think about Mi Mix 2 Plus?
Honestly? Sounds Like bs

sounds like commercial develp... S8 -> S8+ -> Note 8
Iphone X -> iphone X+
Lg G6 -> Lg V30
all the "bordeless" have a big brother.
Have sense all this. I'm sad only that we must wait so much months. :/
Unless you have a link to this "fake announcement" i doubt anyone will believe it

It's going to be the Mix 2S, not the Mix 2+. So it wasn't true. It's not going to be a 6,4inch screen.. This guy probably just summed up some specs he made up which seemed likely to happen in a newer model. (SD 945, really??)
wtf u can do with 8 gb ) ...maxim 6 gb is enough to make the rutine of the day. And second, version with 8 gb ram is not everywehere disponible. so guys, if u want more sofisticate, buy a laptop and when u want to go somewhere, throw it in ur asssss ))

He was just as accurate as most of the "leaks" on the tech websites when it comes to upcoming models. The fact that he did it a month after the original came out is quite commendable. Good for him. You need to chill.
Mix 2S made official today https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-launches-xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-qualcomm-snapdragon-845/
So which after seller usually has it first?
I wonder if it will be compliant with Project Treble
I that case may be it could be worth to change mimix2 to mimix2s....
I thought any phone that comes with Oreo is project treble by default?
Its a shame it only does 4k video recording at 30fps

Mi 8 or mi mix 2s

Mi 8 just for the AMOLED HDR display. Also to show off to your friends for the 3D face unlock. Or if you're really into the animoji stuff then good for you.
Unless you really hate the notch, mi 8 is the obvious choice. That dual gps things seems very cool if it actually works correctly
I don't actually hate notch because i have never used any phone with it but i think it's like a bitten screen.
Maybe i will use to it.
Mix 2s is far more beautiful but mi 8 is better.
All mi 8 have 3d face unlock and animoji or only the explorer?

No, you will not have a problem.
The mi8 has IR face unlock and the EE has 3D face unlock.
The Mi8 got mono speaker and cheap mic, the better front camera and the rest is almost the same, feels better in hand but I will buy Mi Mix 2s.

A better front camera, broken GPS for now, no dual speaker, no wireless charging, longer and no ceramic. It offers less than Mix 2s and it is about 60€ cheaper, for good reason.

Xiaomi Mi 8 vs. S9+ in DxOMark

Hello
Does Xiaomi Mi 8 make such good photos/videos as Samsung Galaxy S9+ (according to DxoMark it should make the same, both phones achieved 99 points in photo/video category)?
Thanks

Nope. Samsung videos are unbeatable according to reviewers. Photos might be better on the mi8.
It has a 105 dxomark for photo. Video dragged it down.
Also, techtablets made a video on the mi8 vs op6, the audio recording capabilities of the mi8 are very very bad (might be a software issue). You should check out that video.

For the price it's the best, only thing comparable to it is the op6b but that phone is priced at little higher. If you don't do much video just buy this phone you'll be very happy with it.

You can't freeze the action using auto mode. Sometimes you get lucky. The auto mode of Huawei Mate 10 is quite good and the phone can take good action shots.
The reason why I didn't get this phone is I can't get K9 mail to work unless you use the global ROM. With the Mi 8, K9 works but only sometimes. It's a step up from my Mate 8 though except for the manual mode. Might have to use the global ROM too but unlocking the boot loader takes a long time!

What brand and model you are reffering to in freezing?
Unlocking bootloader takes a long time in which brand?
Cause if You have Xiaomi just fill a request form in case you'd have to wait many days. You might get lucky and get it quickly.

The most expensive will be the explorers edition with a transparent back and an in-display fingerprint sensor, also with a smaller battery (3000mah).
I'm in HK and for me here the mi8 is a lot cheaper. You can just check their website and compare prices.
Mi 8 6gb + 128gb = HK$3,699
Mi mix 2s 6gb+ 128gb = HK$4,399
Mi mix 2s uses ceramic on the back I think that's why it's more expensive.
The explorers edition is not out yet so no prices on that.
The lowest end which is the mi8 se has an all together different design and a different chipset(snapdragon 710), first released on this phone itself.

Exchange Mi Max with Redmi 4x

Dear users,
Can you suggest me that should I exchange Mi Max 32 gb with Redmi 4x 64 gb?
I have both the mi max 2 and a redmi 4x. Personally I like the mi max 2 better, because of the big screen and the better specifications. If you use one after the other you do feel a slight difference in how smooth it really is, but only after directly using one after the other. Altough I like the max more, it feels like you have a whole computer in your hands, I am selling due to it's size. It doesn't fit in all my pockets which gets annoying and I don't use my phone for very much things so I tend to stay at the cheaper side of things.
If you have more questions I'd be happy to answer them.
Mi Max is almost 2 years old device now but it does has SD 650 it is good processor with huge battery.
32GB internal storage is not sufficient considering the huge screen temps to install heavy games, apps and to have FHD content.
if you are getting Mi max 32 GB for dirt cheap price then go for it.
My recommendation is to buy newer xiaomi device because youll get new powerful yet power efficient processor and big screen device.
you should look for exchange Redmi 4X with either of with Mi Max 3, Redmi note 5(SD 636 dual pixel pdfa variant), Mi 6X.
if you could give more details at what price and what are your device choices then it would be easy to recommend device.

If you want to get the Mi 9 then just a direct spec comparison is enough without asking someone who's upgraded, you're gaining better screen protector, smaller notch, better SOC, better GPU, better camera, faster charging, wireless charging... No brainer imo
Good morning and thanks for the answers! Is the camera rly better without ois??

I'm assuming there might be a Mi 9s with ois and larger battery. The Mi 9 will have poor quality in low light photos
Got an Mi 8 blue 128 gb from Amazon WHD Like New for just 320 Euro. Wouldn't upgrade to the Mi 9 bc it is about 150 euro more expensive. Also a problem would be the missing OIS. Especially in Low Light situations. Nope, Mi 8 is still a great device. Btw: the Mi 9 is having a double higher SAR value which I personally care about a lot! 1,4 vs. 0,7.

From the FCC's website:
"ALL cell phones must meet the FCC’s RF exposure standard, which is set at a level well below that at which laboratory testing indicates, and medical and biological experts generally agree, adverse health effects could OCCUR."
Also, bigger OEM's such as Samsung also have devices with high SAR values, pretty sure the S10 or S10+ is 1.5
