A rooted installation of greenify has more power than non-root. Non-root cannot change system settings that apps call on to keep awake.
The good news is that sToRm// has finished development of his 'one click' app that can root our XZ1 compact. So you can run magisk, as well as systemless Xposed and get the best of greenify back.

Yes, unlocking is one way. You can't back the TA keys up or restore them. But sToRm//'s fix fools the phone into thinking DRM is there, so no loss of any functions.
Depends how badly you want root? If it's just to stop Facebook from waking then I wouldn't do it.
Facebook is the app that will be draining your battery, uninstall it and log in via chrome to save 5% or 10% battery.

Hey Everyone,
How are you Guys today?
I received the OTA Notification on my phone about System Update (305.5MB).
Someone can tell me how can I Rid of this Update on my Phone?
At the moment I am happy with 4.3 but the Notification of the update do not want go away and I have to be really carefully all the time to do not click the Update now.
There is any way to disable this Update on my phone with the Notification?
BTW, I am on Stock.
You can go to settings/Apps/All and force to stop Update Center. The bad news is that you will have to do this after every reboot.
alternativly i think gravitybox has options to choose which notifications to hide, i personally use LBE as a firewall so i use it to hide unwanted notifications

For Gravity Box root is needed, isn't it?

I just waiting for a future Development when I will be able to use my SD to install Apps or move data into it.
I've got a rooted, with Wanam Xposed installed wifi-only 9.7" S2. Even before Xposed was installed I kept getting this persistent notification. Using the "Device status normal" module in Xposed allows bootup without the notification but the notification always appears shortly after boot. Any way to get rid of this thing? I've got all the knox stuff turned off.

I am in the same case...notification disagreement...
I am rooted, on 5.11, Xposed installed, screen mirroring working...
Without enter to the details, what advantages (except disable the persistent notification) have I to install the optimal Rom?
I would just like real examples because in the details of the Rom I don't understand very much of the dev language...

Hi,
I'm running stock ROM with TWRP recovery.
I've managed to successfully root my Note with Magisk.
Somehow I noticed that my device loses root after a reboot and sometimes even randomly. When I go into the custom recovery and flash Magisk 14 or 14.3 everything works fine for while, till it loses root again.
Could someone shed some light on my issue, please?
Thanks in advance.
I've also themed Magisk Manager with Substratum could that be the issue?
I'm also running stock rom, losing magisk root from time to time.
When root is lost, I'm getting a notification that "new magisk V14 is available.
Reinstalling with TWRP only to lose it again a day or two later.
You all need to change your settings in magisk manager. I had the same problem. Change your update channel to Beta. This will keep magisk 14.3 installed once you flash it in recovery after setting this. :highfive:
Are you using the hide root feature?
If so then that is probably your issue.

Try disabling MagiskHide and re-enable it again (try also with a reboot between disabling and enabling)

If I disable it, won't secure apps that run in the background pick up root? I'm guessing I should freeze them first or something?

Try closing those apps first, I think it goes ok as long you don't start the apps yourself because most off the apps checks root at startup, but I can't guarantee you anything
Something weird has happened... I've not actually changed anything but now I tend to lose root immediately after rebooting.
I'm a technical person so whilst I say nothing has changed, I know that it probably has and I just can't remember.
I need Hide, so disabling that is not an option... I have no idea where to even start debugging this

I've been posting my analysis here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/unofficial-magisk-v10-beta-built-t3521901
We have some smart guys (ie @topjohnwu @Didgeridoohan @kantjer etc) and I don't know enough to sort this so the least I can do is provide as much information as possible

Only been spamming the thread with my woes since yesterday so still early days. I'm certainly not expecting an immediate fix because this has been going on for quite some time and if it was easy, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Thanks. In my point of view this look to be a bug in Magisk. Did you tried some older version?
Should I root my note 8(n950f) or not
With pros and cons of rooting note 8
If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't and don't need to.
If you can't think of any reasons to root your phone for yourself, then you likely don't need root.
I'd suggest you don't root it, as you'll lose some security features and functionality of some apps.
I root to increase headphone volume and to shut down apps that are not needed.
It's a little bit of hassle but worth it in the end, especially as Magisk can hide the root from banking apps etc.

I have one banking app that refuses to work, no matter what I do or change to hide root from it. I have no idea how they detect root, but they manage to do it better than any other app in the world.
Weird. Have you tried the new Magisk Manager beta 16.6?

Hello, I'm concerned about my P7 battery, it's draining fast (i'm specially annoyed with screen-off consumption). Nothing really serious I think, knowing it's a common issue with Pixels, but now my device is rooted i want to know what are the best apps, tweaks, etc.. to achieve more time between charges.
With an apps like SD Maid, you can freeze some apps.
It can also cancel their autostart after boot or even control how and when they react to some events.
It's a powerfull apps that can cause a lot of domage so be carefull

I am root and naptime dont let me enter the app. There is a message: "Segup Naptime without root" and instructions to execute two commands in adb. I'm supposing these commands are for non-root users, so what shoud i do to enter the app? Thanks

It sounds like Naptime isn't detecting your root. Have you used root checker to confirm you're rooted? or maybe there's a non-root version of the app too and you need to make sure you're using the root version.
