Hi guys,
I'm wondering whether it's safe to apply this update using the huawei updater software?
Will it delete my data or brick my phone?
Thanks in advance for any replies
How did You manage to be on B337? I'm stack on B137. Vodafone branding.

Sorry man, I meant B137. Have you tried the newest B340 update?
So annoying it doesn't work.

I tried that too man, also tried the huawei updater software but it didn't work because it isn't a 'full' file but an ota one.
I wish there was a way to do it, pretty much tried everything now apart from rooting which would scrub my data.

Did You try flash FULL B339 first? Maybe then dload to B430?
Any clue?
Im in same situation, tried 3 files from firmware finder, 339 and then 340. No entanto of them work amd Maybe is related with the file type, is an OTA só we have two solutions: wait or debrand

Debranding would mean loosing our data and it's hard to run a proper backup without having root and Titanium Backup. Man I wish there was a way to just apply the update, the file's there so it obviously exists it's just impossible to install it.
I reckon we're going to have to wait unfortunately, hopefully they'll release a full version soon. Waiting for OTA updates with Vodafone is a fool's errand. When I got the phone B137 had been out for a month or two and it still hadn't been received by my phone so I had to dload flash it. If they don't release a full flash (which hopefully they will) we'll be waiting for a long time
Seems like We will have to wait for official update...
Found solution!
Hi guys,
I managed to flash EMUI 5 onto my device using the Huawei Updater software, following this guide http://ministryofsolutions.com/2016...ui5-0-full-firmware-b339-europe-vodafone.html
After flashing B339 through Huawei Updater I flashed B340 through dload without loosing any data.
So great to finally have it

Update's running great. I've already noticed a boost in battery life and the UI is much better.
It was really easy, if you just follow the second method on the website you should be fine.
Didn't loose any data at all.
Hope you manage to install it

In firmware finder you need to make sure the option for OTA is selected in the settings in order to find the right B340.
I flashed the smaller b340 and then the larger file.
Seems like the build nu!her hasn't updated but the kernel version and security patch date have changed.
Haven't noticed any difference from B339 though.

There are 3 files, can you share the ones you used or the links? It has some kind of order, did you first used the one right next the b339 and then the last one?

Try using the latest one. When I did it there were only 2 files there so I tried both. Just try the latest one via dload, should work fine.

New update for Vodafone Nougat, not tested yet.
Hi all, I updated to L09C02B339 last week following the 2nd method, all went well. I have since tried to update to B340 and more recently to B341 using FF, putting the update file on dload folder. Phone said it updated on both occasions without an issue but it still says I'm on L09C02B339. How can I tell if I have actually updated to B341 ? Kernel says 4.1.18-g91bd370 [email protected] #1 Mon Feb 6 05:34:07 CST 2017. Does that mean anything to anyone ?
As you all probably know, Android 8.0 Oreo was released yesterday, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on news and information related to our device. Feel free to add as you will.

My dream is to have AOSP Android 8 on my device :'(
Yesterday I have already written this, but is has disappeared anyhow.
I know that Android 8 on Honor 6x will come. Both devices have the same system. If Android 8 should not come for the PRA, I can port it quite simply from 6x.
Result: We get it!

So, why we had not receive, and we'll never receive, the 5.1 update...?
I'm not so sure that the P8 Lite 2017 will recive the Android 8 update.
Huawei's policy about updates is pretty clear: they don't guarantee updates to newer Android versions but only patches for 2 years.
I really hope we'll receive Oreo, but I'm pretty sceptic until Huawei will not officially announce it.

I had already read this article, and it says "L’aggiornamento dovrebbe quasi sicuramente (ancora nessuna ufficialità) arrivare per:" (for non-italian speakers: "The update it's almost sure (still not official) to arrive for:") , this is why I'm still sceptical about it... :fingers-crossed:

A few members in the Honor 6X forum met up with Honor/Huawei representatives in Delhi in August and they confirmed that the 6X will receive Android Oreo/EMUI 6 by the end of 2017/ January 2018 at the latest. So good news for us!
I asked Huawei about this on Facebook and they said there's no info available yet. But we should get it, it's a 2017 device, that already shipped with nougat.

Hi G.Man,
Can you perhaps help? My Huawei P8 Lite 2017 PRA-LA01 is rooted. I can't upgrade to Oreo although the OTA download completed. After the download it takes me to TWRP. I go to the data/update folder to do it manually, but it fails with an ERROR: 9. Is there a way to do this manually. I've done MANY searches on the internet and all the links to the norecovery file is missing. Do I need to flash a new version of TWRP?

Flash with adb fastboot:

That's all you have to do. You don't need an unroot.

Hi. I installed Android Oreo on my PRA-LX1 with HWOTA8 method, and now at build number shows System 8.0.0.046(0C71) instead of PRA-LX1 8.0.0.360(C432). How to fix?
same here on my P8 Lite 2017.

Yes fingerprint is in most Oreo ROMs. Did you delete your fingerprint before updating? If not, try to factory reset, disable encryption (read aio guide) and then factory reset again. It still nothing then try to install a treble gsi

Hello everyone,
I've got a Mate 10 Pro running Android 9.1. At this link is available Emui 10.0.0.158 for non chinese version:

With this tool you'll be able to upgrade, but I'm afraid to try with mine because it's the only phone I got.

P.S. The tool works, I used system recovery to unbrick my device (because I installed a CUST version of EMUI 10 only, just 656MB: silly:, and obviously I bricked) that original HiSuite was not able to recover.

Yes you're right, but I have talked with the developer and in his opinion CUST and PRELOAD are only needed for switching version, for example from 9 to 9.1. Also is true that BLA-L29 Emui 10 cust and preload exist, but not for BLA-L09.
Anyway, if you don't check preload and cust in the tool HiSuite will not charge them and send the update the same, but I'm afraid to go forward

Ok but I have to tell you to pay attention because the firmware I linked is for BLA-LGRP2-OVS and I don't know if it's ok for your model.
I'm asking to someone having a BLA-L09 or at least a BLA-L29, I don't understand so much in version so maybe that one would be ok for you

I'm pretty sure that CUST and Preload are required for 9.1 to 10.

Yes I'm not sure, but I'm sure the update appeared also without them

Or what about using L29 cust and preload on L09?

Actually that emui 10.0.0.158 is for the BLA-L29C-CUST6351B2(10.0.0.2), BLA-L29C-PRELOADC635R11B3(10.0.0.3) and Ian not sure if it will work for the other variants. Pretoriano80 is correct by saying that we need the cust & preload to move from 9.1 to 10.

There are two 'BLA-LGRP2-OVS 10.0.0.158 on HiCloud, but no idea if any of them is for c432.

I also doubt, as there's currently no cust & preload of emui 10 for the C432, even my C185 which was stuck on 341 with November security patches and I had to use the hisute proxy tool to force it last night to 344 with December security and to my surprise it worked .

I have the links for cust and preload for C432, so that's not the issue.
Well, if anyone with a C432 wants to try, i can provide the links (i think that are the same as the ones from this Hisuite tool).
I won't test because EMUI 10 locks the bootloader and for me it's more important than EMUI 10.
