If somebody know when, or if never wont have a ressurection remix rom or lineage rom free of bugs(OFICIAL)
I know that we have some roms but unnoficial and with many bugs, apreciate too much his work but...
1 year since phone release and no have a stable oficial free of bugs rom like lineage or resurection

Without source code, it's difficult, sometimes impossible to make any kind of stable custom ROM. The source code was released just a little while ago and the development went up a little bit. Nobody can tell you will be there or not a stable RR or LOS.

its funny how people dont seem to be able to keep track of time
mi max 2 was released in june/july last year, so its been out for 8-9 months now. so still several months to go until a full year...
the new LOS 14.1 version is already very close to bugfree, only LED blinking and SELinux state are missing.
Also, XenonHD dev said he will publish a new build very soon, with working FPS and most current bugs fixed.
So these two roms are already VERY close to official

Hi, i've got a question here. Im currently own the xiaomi mi 5 while my friend owns the Mi 5s. That friend of mine wants to get his device flashed to Lineage OS 14.1. But when i go to there, i saw the status of the ROM marked as "testing". While mi 5 lineage os 14.1 marked as "nightly".
What's the difference between these two? I know the difference between Alpha, Beta, Nightly, and Release Candidate, but i never heard of "Testing".
Dont know why nobody support developing rom for this device
Can you tell something about this?

The kernel sources haven't been released yet. Mi6 got the kernel souces a few days ago and it was released at about the same time with the mi max 2 so i think we should get them pretty soon.

I read a topic at en.mi stating that it'll take around 5 months or so for a kernel release; no idea how long mi max 2 got release officially.

Great to hear that the Mi 6 already got kernel sources released. I'm anxious to see some development for the Mi Max 2. It's an awesome phone and it deserves some love.

No ROM support
I think the sources have been released just recently, that means that the developers barely had any time to start development. I just flashed Xiaomi.eu rom, looks really promising to me because I didn't have many issues with stock rom.
No sources released yet... Maybe wait another 6 month's...

There is a lineage is 14.1 ROM and mokee ROM then why anybody try to build or port other ROMs ? I'm a doctor not a developer but I tried to port but without much knowledge very difficult for me but any one developer can try.

Mokee OS 7.1.2 and Lineage OS 14.1 unofficial builds are there.

there is more other Best Rom such as RR , Viper OS nitrogen OS... I'm asking about them
Go to Github and miui forums and cry as loud as you can. Those roms are only available after kernel source is released.

Just enjoy the current rom that mi max 2 dev has to offer. The stock miui roms are solid and quite nice; the chipset itself handles battery life in a very good way that you wouldn't mind changing or getting a custom kernel as of the moment. So please, don't ask for ETA, this Isn't a nexus/ pixel thread so expect a snail update for this device. Admin, for thread close please.
P.s: OP ask for thread close so you wont get flamed in your own thread. Just my two cents.

why would you want that? my opinion is just stick to stable and proven roms, like debloated stock, rooted stock or RR
ps and be glad if your phone still works error free.
Oreo has many improvements on top of nougat so if there were to be an oreo rom for this device I'd say that would be a good one, ever actually read the changelog of oreo?
