Android 8.0 - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Any news about android oreo for this model?
Enviado desde mi GT-I9305 mediante Tapatalk

why would you want that? my opinion is just stick to stable and proven roms, like debloated stock, rooted stock or RR
ps and be glad if your phone still works error free.

Oreo has many improvements on top of nougat so if there were to be an oreo rom for this device I'd say that would be a good one, ever actually read the changelog of oreo?

Huawei P10 developing, what can we expect?

I think I will get this device and I'd like to know what can we expect about developing on this device. Can we expect a good developing in the future with nice aosp-based roms? Have the sources been released? If not, will be released?
Thanks
Kernel sources were released some month's ago, as far as I know. But no developing at the moment, I guess.

I've been wondering this too. I'm upgrading to P10 after weekend and worried there still seems to be so little development for this device.
Coming from LG G4 which only allowed EU & US T-Mobile to unlock bootloader so there was very little development there really, although more than there is here at the moment...
Well the stock rom is great, so all you really need is root and debloat. I've debloated mine and running pixel launcher with all the standard google Apps. The phone is amazing as it is really.
I'm sure I won't go down the route of rooting in first month or so anyway (because I can't figure out if unlocking bootloader voids warranty or not, and if so if re-locking reinstates) but it is handy even if just for adblock, adverts a lot of places become much too intrusive on a lot of sites, especially on a mobile and with limited data.

Could you write a list of all the apps you managed to remove safely?
Do you think it's safe to remove all google apps?
There are lots of things to know, starting of the bootloader (warranty). Maybe stock is great, but AOSP lovers want Lineage hehe! Do we have root methods? I'm coming from a Xperia M2, which at first has null developing but nos de have really good and stable ROMS, and whats more, today we got Oreo

Oreo when no nougat yet

I just bought myself an amazing Mi Mix. I just don't understand why nougat is not available yet for our phones but they are planning to upgrade it to Oreo. Anyone knows of we will get nougat or just jump to Oreo on the Mi Mix and any eta?

Mine is on Android 6 and no OTA updates
Have a look here if you'd like nougat on your device, imho you will definately want to get rid of MIUI.

To be honest,I am disappointed in Xiaomi even Meizu is pushing updates faster in their budget mNote series it's been quite a while since MIUI9 only on developer rom only [emoji22][emoji22]

I thought with a phone with those specs and the high price, Xiaomi would be a little faster to push updates and keep it up to date but like every other brand, they want you to buy their latest model. They want your money and then you are left behind

When will have RR and lineage oficial?

Only this question
If somebody know when, or if never wont have a ressurection remix rom or lineage rom free of bugs(OFICIAL)
I know that we have some roms but unnoficial and with many bugs, apreciate too much his work but...
1 year since phone release and no have a stable oficial free of bugs rom like lineage or resurection

Without source code, it's difficult, sometimes impossible to make any kind of stable custom ROM. The source code was released just a little while ago and the development went up a little bit. Nobody can tell you will be there or not a stable RR or LOS.
Wrong area

its funny how people dont seem to be able to keep track of time
mi max 2 was released in june/july last year, so its been out for 8-9 months now. so still several months to go until a full year...
the new LOS 14.1 version is already very close to bugfree, only LED blinking and SELinux state are missing.
Also, XenonHD dev said he will publish a new build very soon, with working FPS and most current bugs fixed.
So these two roms are already VERY close to official

MI A2 pie downgrade or switch to 6X?

So after a few days scrolling through the forums, i realised that TWRP is not working on Pie update and it only works properly on Oreo Mi A2. I also realised that you can switch A2 to 6X and mod it using 6X TWRP etc2
Now I want to ask if you would recommend me to =
- Downgrade to Oreo
or
- Switch to 6X?
If i can, i would like to revert to stock so that i can still have my device under warranty (5 week old btw)
Not, Pie better, Miui 10 bagss

On my opinion, don't attempt to downgrade your OS because it may hard brick your phone. If you succeed downgrading, you may experiencing some hardware problems, such as WiFi, Bluetooth and etc. Google intent to disabling OS downgrade since Oreo (Anti Rollback Protection). About 6X MIUI ROM version, this considering as rooting your phone and Xiaomi are not recommending side loading the ROM. If you really don't want Android One Program (hating and can't wait to fix bug's like me), Custom ROM's maybe recommended for you which is offer on some forum threads. But I rather wait for the next future update from Xiaomi and I know they'll fix the flaws of this phone. And of course I don't waste my opportunity to experience free update on upcoming Android Q!
Oreo is ok the best, if you have unlocked bootloader and critical you can downgrade with no problem at all. I have done it after buged pie and other times after custom roms.
I have switched my A2 to 6X for so long now that I can't even remember. I see no point in going back to A2. All custom roms for 6X are much simpler to flash and handle. No dual partition bull****. Plus I can flash miui anytime I want either. I personally see no advantage of A2.
Come to the dark side. Convert to a 6X.

The last line is really tempting. I've been considering converting my Mi A2. Have you experienced any bugs after converting, in MIUI or in custom roms? Perhaps the camera bug?
Also, which rom are you currently on? Any bugs?

Essentially both phones are the same so bugs are almost non-existent. You know I've noticed some people complain about the camera bug but I am yet to encounter it, and its been months. But I always depend on gcam so maybe this is only on if we try to use the stock cam. Even if the issue arises, there's a definitive fix by changing the build.prop to whyred (I think).
I'm currently on Havoc 2.2. I think its the most flexible and customisable rom for our device. Of course you can try miui first and then come to AOSP based roms. One persistent bug in AOSP based roms is that notification light doesn't work (for me at least) and I've come to live without it. Auto brightness may glitch but fixes are pumped out fast enough. So far I have no reason to go back to A2 stock.

Which rom you are using and why ?

Hello xda
So recently i purchased a Note 8 N950F/D DUAL SIM on a good deal and i am kind of confused which rom is the best for day to day use with good battery life.
Currently i am on dr keten p10 new rom july security update and its very good so far.
Reason i am using drketan's rom p10 specifically because of working secure folder+video recording 4k UHD 60fps+latest july security patch.
Also i tried hadesrom v8 and deluxe rom v 15.1 and TeamExyKings lite rom i love them all and they are above excellent too .
so here i am confused which 1 is best i wanna hear from you guys which rom you are using and why
because i am keeping switching beetween roms
Thanks and Huge shout out to all rom devs for all their effort:good:
